The final battle came and went with the turn of the century. Even before it actually happened, it seemed to be a constant threat over everyone’s shoulders, people seemed to just wait for it to happen any moment now. In a desperate attempt to not loose hope, they scrambled to be with the one they loved or threw themselves at people just to feel loved before they died. They just wanted to feel like they had something to live for and before you knew it everyone and their cousin were with child. Now with their children on the line, the Order and their followers fought even harder to win the war. However the other side felt the same way. This new generation of Potters, Weasleys, Malfoys and Zabinis was the motor that pushed the young adults beyond the limit, where tiredness and injuries are pushed aside in an effort to keep fighting.
So now they were equally striving to win the war, for their children’s sake more than anything. The light wanted their children to grow up in a world without prejudice and the influence of Voldemort and the dark side wanted their children to grow up in a perfect world where purebloods were above all. Because it is true that the love for your child can make you do incredible things.
However things never turn out the way you want them too. The final battle was full of blood and injury and death. The Order had planned their attack for months, and on the decided day they set forth to surprise the Death Eaters. Yet somehow, tha information on their assault was leaked, and when they arrived the Death Eaters were as ready and prepared were as ready as they could be. And so, the battle broke out. Crabbe, Goyle, Fred, George, Lucius Malfoy, Arthur Weasley, and many more, ended their lives in said battle, to the heartbreak of their loved ones. Fred had to watch his twin brother fall at the hands of Avery, Ron was severely wounded as well as Bellatrix Lestrange, Parvati Patil was killed by Goyle and Crabbe was killed by Charlie Weasley.
This including the ones said to end it all. The great Harry Potter indeed went up against Voldemort and curses were thrown, words were exchanged but the end didn’t end like anyone thought it would. As both men said the killing curse at the same time there was a giant explosion and no one could see who managed to throw the curse first. When the dust settled and the smoke cleared they saw a horrible sight. On the right Voldemort was crumpled over and on the left was Harry Potter laid out flat, both dead. And the second war was over, finally.
Yes, many rejoiced. But yes, also many wept. For with the death of their enemies, came the death of their loved ones. Ginny Weasley, now Potter, was distraught. She couldn’t believe the man of her life was actually gone. Despite her mother’s plea’s and her brother’s encouragement, Ginny didn’t move on and decided to stay a single mother, raising her two kids by herself. The Death Eater families continued on with their ways secretly teaching their children the ways of the pureblood families and betrothing them at birth. For despite the fact that their Lord was now gone, they still held on strongly to their ideas. But Hogwarts was prepared to try to squeeze these beliefs out of them. Wizarding Traditions and Muggle Studies became a mandatory class for all students to take in a four year series. The classes taught the kids about wizarding traditions and muggle ways so they would learn to appreciate both sides. Yet it still didn’t work as well as they would have hoped but it has done some good.
As the Ministry scrambled to rebuild the Wizarding World and round up the remaining Death Eaters, the children that the war ended for grew up and entered Hogwarts. Their lives were just as messed up as their parents except there wasn’t that over shadowing threat of destruction because there was nothing to destroy. They themselves have to follow their parents steps and hold on to their loved ones and all they tell themselves is just don’t let go.
