Welcome to Carstairs Hospital, a psychiatric hospital providing stable care and and treatment for over four-hundred patients and still accepting more. While they aim "to help patients recover sufficiently from their illness to enable them to be transferred to services closer to their homes. Where this is not possible, we strive to help them to cope with their disabilities, and to live their lives as fully as possible" most people and patients would rather consider Carstairs "a place no reasonable person would ever want to go."
Now, why would anyone say such a thing about such a respectful hospital?
Because people have been known to come to Carstairs and never leave. Not because of their illness, mind you, but because they've died. The oddest thing about the deaths is there is no reasonable reason as to WHY. The patients, despite their disorder, were all fully healthy and well monitored - even the select few suicical cases monitored 24/7. Who can say as to why? Who can say what caused it... It's clear no one knows. Yet it's even clearer that no one is doing much to figure it all out.
