Long ago, the world was controlled by Wizards. Long ago, Voldemort terrorized the Wizarding Community, and muggles had no knowledge of the Wizarding World. Long ago, Werewolves and Vampires were oppressed, and ended up joining forces with the Dark Lord in one final, bloody attack -- long ago, Voldemort finally fell in a strewn out battle that lasted a long time.
But 'long ago' isn't happening anymore, is it?
Years and years later, the Vampires and Werewolves have grown in number tremendously, and the Wizards have interbred with the Muggles so that no non-magic folk are left, however magic has resultantly been watered down.
The world has been divided into three realms. The North, the coldest realm, was handed to the Werewolves, while the Vampires and Wizards split the remaining land.
The current state of affairs is one of peace. There is a little tension between the realms, but generally speaking they are on good terms. The wizards and Vampires acknowledge each other, but the werewolves are ignored.
This has made them unhappy. Some have accepted the fact that they will always be considered less, but most have not. Led by their lord Jack Fernando, there has been much stiring in their realm. More and more werewolves have been spotted around the school in the wizard's realm. Though what they are doing there no-one knows, they can only be thankful for the fact that the death toll hasn't gone up.
The Vampires are too proud to care for anyone, but themselves. Lord Adrastos has improved their land and they are perhaps the most functional and most peaceful realm out of all three.
The Wizards have decided to sit back and relax for the time being. The Lord Kuroda has called back the generals and though there is still a boundary guard, it is not as important as it once was. The Darkhunters (police) have decreased in number. This has angered some who do not think the defenses should be taken lightly. Mostly those who live near the Werewolf Realm. They also go into the abyss and pick off stray Vampires (occasionally) and werewolves. They are ruthless and the authorities are busy trying to track them down.
For over 50 years, the abyss has lay quiet, but recently there have been rumours that noises have been heard from deep within it. Screeches, screams, sometimes cackles and cries. The old Hermit Othello has been seen out of his cave and wandering through the realm of the werewolves. The sea has been unusually treacherous and the air has been thick with fog. The earth has been growing at an alarming rate and some swear they can smell smoke while passing round the outer borders of the Abyss.
The dead lands have been covered with an un-seasonly mist, making it impossible for even a Vampire to see through. Rumors fly faster then bullets about a small group of people underground who belong to no realm, and yet all three. The purposes of The Outsiders are unknown, but they're beginning to make an appearance.
Something is happening, and with defenses low in the Magical realm and the Vampires too concerned with themselves, it would appear that the Werewolves, may be the only ones who know what is going on.
But inside the walls of a re-built Hogwarts none of this seems to matter. Not when there are classes to go to and all sorts of adolescent traumas to deal with...
Hogwarts is located right by the border of the werewolf realm, a fact that has disturbed many a parent's sleep, but the Headmistress, Rayne Briant, has made an agreement with the Lord of the Wolves: no touching the students in exchange for her and his kind being free to wander the neighbouring forest, Nefastus. The students , of course, are forbidden to enter.
But as safe as things may seem, danger is everywhere for the students, yet they seem oblivious to it...
