Laying on her back in front of the TV, Daphne Hayes was concentrating very hard on what was in front of her. Her best friend, Anne had told her she should try and start watching "The Valley", since Anne told her that you could relate to almost anyone in the show. Oh yeah, she could definitely relate to the guy right now in the coma. Well, from what she was watching there were no girls that currently was in her situation, still probably in love with her ex boyfriend, and decided to try her hand at hook-ups again, starting with her best friends brother. Her phone beeped the annoying three beeps that sounded every time she got a text. She flipped her gold razr open, half listening to the show. The text was from Jason. It could only be a coincidence that she was just thinking about him.

Daphne just watched aimlessly at the TV screen listening in on what this chick, April's latest problem with this boy. She waited kicking her feet up to the arm rests of the couch. She liked TV, yes, but this show was hard to cocentrate on. Maybe it was because she was jumping in half-way through the season, and that could be annoying, but then again, any show was better than "The Real Valley." Something on MTV that had what really happened in the valley with kids their age and all the drama they bring on them. Suddenly, hanging out with Jason seemed a lot better.

Upon getting his next text, she was relieved that she decided to watch TV up in Diem's dorm room. Because if she would have been at her house, she would have had to leave and say something like she was on the Strip or something. But now, this was better, and she wouldn't have to lie. She looked over at Diem who was typing furiously on her computer. She didn't know where Hannah was, if she was here, maybe Hannah would have watched The Valley with her, since Diem called it 'a useless teen drama show'.

Daphne paused at his next text. Yeah, she use to have a stash. Hence on the use to. Anne, Bridget, and herself, last year they were all big into that, but leave it to Daphne's little sister at the beginning of the year to find it and flip out on her. Daphne felt like it was their dad finding it. So, Daphne hadn't been doing the drugs since the beginning of the year. She got up and faced Diem, "I'm going to go." Diem turned around and looked at her. "Aren't you watching 'The Valley'?" she asked with a sneer. "I was, but I'm going out. With Jason." Diem just scoffed, "Jason. As in your best friend's brother?" Daphen just nodded and waved goodbye with one hand and text back with the other.

She had been debating on whether to contact Jason or not. It wasn't the most intelligent idea - to contact the person that hurt Daphne. Plus, Daphne had told her not to mention this to anyone - and Brianna hadn't. Everything was kept to herself, as hard as it was to not tell a single soul. You can tell one person, but they would probably tell just one more friend. Soon enough the news spreads out and everyone may know what happen. And Brianna certainly wasn't going to take that risk with anyone. She even tried to forget the fact that she knew what he did, but that was certainly not simple. Brianna couldn't just decide that she didn't want to know something and it would just vanish from her mind. Impossible.
No contact with him at all. She told herself. It was the best way to get through the school year. And maybe for her senior year Brianna would move - okay, maybe not. She was still trying to get through the week. A few months more was thinking way too far ahead. Her plan didn't turn out so well when she heard her phone ring - And only one person had the ringtone that she was hearing. She picked up her sidekick but just looked at it. The picture of the two of them was showing with the name Jason on the screen. She fidgeted with her phone unsure of whether to pick up or not. It couldn't turn out too well if she talked to him, but what did he have to say? Brianna was hoping for something good, but currently, she doubted anything good to come from Jason.
Just before it was probably going to go to her voice mail, Brianna picked up her cell. "Hey." It didn't sound happy, but quiet. not a whisper, but Brianna didn't sound like she normally did - and that was something she was trying to avoid. She couldn't let Jason suspect anything, but that didn't seem to be going to well. Even Brianna could hear how depressed she sounded and it slightly surprised her. Brianna didn't say more after her little 'Hey' since she couldn't think of anything to say. Sure she could have asked him, 'how are you' or maybe 'what are you doing' but she didn't really care anymore. She didn't care what he was doing or how he was feeling. She just wanted to know the truth - And when you're talking on the phone, it's not easy to tell if someone's lying.

What to say, what to say. She wasn't exactly sure. Every single thing Brianna wanted to tell Jason was nothing that he would want to hear. It would probably tip off that she knew what he did. After hearing his voice she couldn't help but smile, just a little, but it didn't last more than a second. Biting her lower lip so she could stop herself from saying anything that should be left unspoken, Brianna took a quiet breath. Now that she thought about it Jason wasn't really hiding anything from her. Nothing. The tone of his voice wasn't the kind that she remembered. Maybe it was just Brianna that thought he was so...different. She just didn't notice it - Or maybe today Jason figured it didn't matter if she knew the real him or not.
And now he was talking about her coming over to his house. She listened, but the more she did, the more she didn't want to come. But she didn't say anything. Brianna remained silent until she heard him finish his little...request. A few seconds after he stopped speaking, Brianna finally got the nerve to say something. One word. One word that she kept on saying over and over when she had spoken to Daphne. But this time, Brianna wasn't going to say it to Daphne - She was going to say it to Jason. "No." Brianna said. It didn't sound firm, but more weak. And if he had listened closely, Jason might have heard her voice slightly cracking. It was harder to talk to him than she had expected, but she had to say what was on her mind.
"No Jason." She said once more, but it sounded stronger. Not the weak little sound she had spoke seconds ago, but it sounded like she finally gotten her voice back. "I-I..." She lost it. She was about to say something about Daphne but knew very well that she shouldn't say a word. But Brianna couldn't stop herself as she said, "I know what you did." Immediately after she finished her sentence, she clasped her hand over her mouth. No! No! No! Why'd you tell him? Brianna asked herself. So much for keeping everything to herself. Brianna had told the worse person she could. Jason Lévesque.

Oh how she regretted the fact that she even picked up the phone. If she had just let the phone ring and not pick up, none of this would have happened. Brianna would have continued on with her life, hating Jason, and she wouldn't have said anything. But you just haaad to see what he might say. Brianna thought to herself. She had been hoping Jason might have said something to her that would clear everything. Something like, "April fools!" But it wasn't April. It was December. Brianna just wanted to be told that everything was a prank. That she was being punk'd. That this entire thing was just a joke. Although it might have been a horrible prank, it would make Brianna feel slightly better.
But she knew everything was true. She didn't really know the true reason why she had picked up the phone. She had known that everything Daphne had told her was true. She knew that this was reality. So why did she pick up her cell? Even after everything that Brianna had found out in the last few days, she still wanted to just hear his voice. But his voice didn't seem the same anymore. It didn't sound like the one that always calmed her. It didn't sound like the one that made her feel better. And that didn't make her happier, it made her feel even worse knowing that the guy she thought she knew, was nothing like he seemed. That wasn't exactly something people were happy about.
"No? Why the fuck not, Bee?"
She was even more shocked when Brianna heard how he sounded when Jason was mad. Was this really how he was? Had she looked over this much? Talking to him didn't make her feel any better than she originally was. Her stomach flipped as she held it with her arm. Her heart was beating as she figured out how much she had missed since the first day of Valkyrie. Everyone knew. Absolutely everyone knew that he was no good. Even some friends Brianna had made that were also new to Valkyrie had told Brianna that Jason was just drama waiting to happen. But she didn't listen. Why the hell didn't I listen? Brianna asked herself.
"I've done a lot of things. Like say.. I've smoked the best bag of weed you've ever seen in the green gardens of Eden. I've recorded more than seven girls moaning pleasures for me - but one thing I'm very proud of was ravaging you're audacious bod."
Did he really do all those things? Of course he did, and he sounded pretty proud of himself for doing it. But the last part of his little sentence hit Brianna like lightning. You know Brianna was confused when she couldn't even finish sentences in her own mind. Words were scrambled until they made no sense. But you-But I-How-I was-.. It was just words. Brianna Malinda herself was unsure of what she was trying to say. What she was thinking confused even her, but she didn't speak. Brianna was left speechless. That is, until Jason spoke. "Come on, little Bee. I'll make your fucking dreams purr." "Are you fucking kidding me Jason? After you almost raped Daphne Hayes you're saying that? How-..." She paused as she tried to figure out how to finish. "How could you be like that? How can you live with yourself?" Brianna had said so much, but she wasn't sure of Jason cared. She wasn't sure of anything anymore.

Brianna didn't know what she had felt before. Whatever it was though, it was a ridiculous feeling. Any girl, including Brianna, liked that 'feeling' ar first. That little thing you felt when you saw a guy you liked. The thing you felt when he passed by. how you always seemed to smile when he smiled. It all happened to Brianna Malinda when she had saw Jason Lévesque. It was now something the girl regretted, but unfortunately it was also something she couldn't change. She was certainly disgusted by him, but something always came before the disgust. When Brianna thought of him, she would get that feeling, but then her stomach would turn into knots. When Brianna thought of that smile [not the seductive and I-can-get-what-I-want-when-I-want one] she would smile too...Until she thought more about him and the smile would fade.
It was if he had her under some spell. It was breaking, but not as quickly as Brianna might have hoped. A spell that would never been put on Brianna if she only listened to the warnings. But no. She just wanted to find the good in him. Turns out, Jason didn't have any good in him at all. How could Brianna just miss that fact when it was perfectly clear to everyone around her? Even some new students knew that he was no good. Samantha had only been in Valkyrie for a little, but she tried not to have anything to do with Jason. The fact that everyone knew didn't help Brianna feel better. It only made her feel stupid, which was obviously not a good feeling. It was just amazing how blind she was.
The girl had thought she could handle this. She thought she was strong enough. Maybe not strong enough to speak to Jason face-to-face, but she expected herself to be able to handle talking to him over the phone. She was wrong. It was harder than she had expected, and Brianna couldn't do it. It was too difficult for the girl. She never had to go through anything like what she was going through right now. She was thankful for having such an easy life. Now Brianna had nothing to be thankful for. Sure, she had a home, clothes, food, and all these things other families didn't have. But Brianna wasn't that kind of teenager. She didn't think about those things unless she saw something on TV about all these unfortunate people. Too bad Brianna didn't see those things much. She was usually watching one of her 'shows' or not near the TV at all.
Every word he spoke, hurt her badly. Each little word was equal to hundreds of deaths. At least that was how Brianna felt. She knew this was the Jason her friends have been telling her about, and she knew this was the Jason that Daphne warned her about. Brianna finally accepted the fact that this was him, but there was still a part of her that wanted to escape from the truth. She wanted to just leave this place, yet Brianna couldn't even hang up the phone. She didn't want to be hurt anymore, but she couldn't stop listening to what Jason had to say. Brianna just sat on her bed, pink sidekick beside her ear, and didn't say a word. A mirror was straight ahead of her, but she didn't see the Brianna she was trying to be. She saw the true Brianna that honestly wasn't so strong.
And when Jason hung up the phone, it only hurt Brianna even more. It was a good thing that she didn't have to hear any of his shit anymore, but it still hurt either way. Even if Jason didn't hang up, it would still hurt the girl. She didn't move one inch until seconds later after the conversation was over. The girl slowly removed her cell phone from beside her ear, and just left it on her bed. Finally realizing everything that happened, Brianna fell back onto her bed. She turned her entire body so that her face was now into the pillow, and broke into tears. The little 'conversation' didn't last very long, but long enough to hurt the girl. She hadn't even said much, but Jason did. Not the best way to start the day.

A while ago, Brianna had a conversation with Jason Lévesque. It hadn't turned out the way she had expected, but then again, Brianna hadn't been expecting much. She knew that she would be hurt, but for some strange reason she still answered that stupid phone. If she had only let it go to voicemail..Would anything change? Brianna might have still been mad at Jason, but how much? Brianna wasn't sure because she wasn't some girl who could just change time. She had no powers like characters from television shows, comics, or movies. Brianna Malinda was just a regular girl. Just another cheerleader in this world. At least that's what Brianna thought. So many times Brianna had wanted answers. But now knowing the true side of Jason...Well, answers no longer seemed so nice.
Not too long after that, Brianna met Xavier Street. Although his name was Xavier, she always called him Sylar like many other people. He was such a good friend, someone she could actually trust. At least for now, Sylar was someone that had Brianna's back. She hoped that he had no 'other side' just like Jason. After that though, Brianna and Sylar started hanging out a lot. He knew how to make her smile when nobody else seemed to be able to. Brianna had even went to the masquerade ball with him. For once, Brianna had gotten Jason Lévesque out of her mind - and that wasn't exactly an easy thing to do after everything she had went through. But it wasn't surprising that Jason finally entered her head again.
It was just another day. Natalie had said something about some internet gossip thing. Scandal Star. Brianna, of course, wanted to check it out. She never expected to see herself on some list that they had. And when she saw the pictures, Brianna's jaw practically dropped. She never saw anyone at the beach taking pictures of her. Then again, she was busy with 'mystery man', having fun after so long. And that picture of her and Sylar?! When did that picture ever get taken? But it wasn't pictures of herself that affected Brianna. It was the pictures of Jason. There were several pictures of him with Bella. God, it hurt to see him with one of her close friends. And that was exactly when Jason bounced back into Brianna's mind.
Of course, Brianna posted her comments for little miss Scandal Star to see. The last thing she expected was to see Jason's after checking back. So, that was why she hadn't been around. The few words in his comment said something about being away for a week. Brianna had replied to him, and of course Jason said something back. He's going to call me?! was the first thing Brianna had thought when she read what he had wrote. Brianna didn't really expect Jason Lévesque to reply. That was, until she heard her ringtone coming from her cell phone just lying on her bed. She picked it up, hoping it wasn't him, but when Brianna looked at her phone, his name was looking right up at her. Why didn't she just delete his number from her phone? Well, the answer was simple - It would hurt too much.
Don't answer it. You know what happened last time...Don't answer it. Brianna kept telling herself. Seconds were passing - Either pick it up now or never. Plus, Brianna had to tell him since he had hung up on her during their last conversation. Brianna finally picked up her phone and spoke, "What the hell do you want?" Nice greeting, Bri. "If you want to tell me to fuck myself, again, I won't be here to listen to it. I'll give you five seconds to get to the point."

Usually, Brianna would feel awful for speaking to someone the way she did to Jason. If Brianna had said that to someone else that didn't really do anything to her, she would probably feel guilty a few seconds later. Then Brianna would most likely apoligize and that was just about all that happened. But it was a wonder why when Brianna was speaking to Jason, she didn't feel bad or guilty for what she had said at all. This was the first time she said anything to him since the last phone call. After that, Brianna had no contact with Mr. Lévesque at all. Brianna certainly was upset the few days after their conversation, but it seemed like all the sadness transformed into anger. And it felt so good to let it all out.
No guilt was felt in her body. Well, not yet. After what Brianna had said, she had expected to hear Jason say something to defend himself. Yet, she heard no comeback or insult. Instead, Brianna heard Jason being stupid and acting like nothing had happened. Brianna didn't plan on saying, "Happy New Year!" like he said to her. When Jason said something about her cheekbones and something about them being 'blotchy and red', Brianna rolled her eyes. He certainly couldn't see that unless someone was recording her from outside the window, and Brianna doubt anyone was watching her. Plus, even if anyone was, it wasn't like rolling your eyes was some crime that could get Brianna in big trouble.
Still, Brianna waited for him to say something horrible, but still nothing came. Brianna waited unpatiently as Jason tried to say something. Anyone could easily tell that he wasn't having much luck putting whatever he wanted to say into words. And when Jason said that he never said something in his life, Brianna started getting a little curious. What could he possibly want to say? And when he said something about 'Reed-itis', a puzzled look appeared on Brianna's face. What the fuck was Reed-itis? He continued saying things about 'Reed-itis' but Brianna couldn't keep up. She didn't have a clue what Reed-itis was, so how could she have any idea what Jason was talking about? No wonder he has never said it before. Brianna thought to herself. Who ever says something like Reed-itis?
Fortunately, Jason started to make sense. But just because what he said made sense didn't mean that Brianna wasn't surprised. Me? I took control of him? was the first thing that popped into her head when he spoke. Jason then said some names of people that couldn't control him, including the name, Reed. Well, that only explained a quarter of what Reed-itis meant. Brianna didn't expect Jason to say that he lost his sister. She had heard some rumors about him and Anne having a little 'talk' at one of the trio events. Even though Brianna didn't believe it, apparently, that rumor was true. Brianna still didn't say a word, as she finally figured out that the Reed thing wasn't something that Jason never said - It was what he was about to say next.
But Brianna just had to wonder why he would say something to her that he has never said to anyone else. Was it a good thing? Bad? Brianna just had to wait a few seconds before finding out. The last thing Brianna thought Jason would do was say sorry. Did she hear it right? Brianna even moved her sidekick from her ear to see if she was still talking to Jason, and she was. "I...Um...Wow." Brianna said the 'wow' part pretty quietly. His words hit her like a bolt from the blue, and this girl had just gotten struck by lighting. But why would someone with the personality of Jason Lévesque be apoligizing? "Jason.." It felt kind of good to say his name. "I'm..I'm speechless. But..Do you really mean what you say?" Her voice was nothing like it was before, and was much softer.
"I just don't know if I should believe you right now." The words slipped out of her lips, but they didn't have much honesty in them. She really believed that Jason was sorry, but now she couldn't take back those words.

Most things have something good and bad about them. Not all things, but most. Sometimes there might be a lesson learned when something horrible happened, or someone matures a little more. And as much as Brianna Malinda hated to admit it, Scandal Star was one of those things. Sure, most people could live without that gossiper, but there had to be someone in Valkyrie that just adored everything that happened in the town. After all, there was some type of drama around every corner. Brianna didn't enjoy being on that list, since it meant that she had to watch what she was doing. Someone, and it could be anyone, was practically stalking her. Not the kind of stalker that threatens you or anything, but now, Brianna knew that usually, someone was following her.
That was a terrible thing for Brianna, but it was kind of good. How? Well, sure, everyone loves their privacy. But if that Scandal Star person hadn't seen Brianna and Xavier...Well, Jason might not be calling her right now. There was a change that he might have done it anyways considering how Jason hadn't mentioned one word about her and Sylar. But if those pictures weren't posted, would Jason be saying the things he was saying right now? Would things be different? Brianna didn't really want to know because she liked how things were going right now. Maybe not everything but Brianna actually liked talking to Jason. She had expected to be yelling and shouting into the phone when she had picked it up, but she wasn't feeling so angry anymore.
Instead of feeling like she wanted to punch Jason Lévesque, Brianna wanted to see what he was doing right now. Was he really acting the way he sounded? And in Brianna's opinion, he sounded pretty confused. She actually enjoyed how he was so puzzled but not in a bad way. She thought it was slightly cute how he was trying to say what was in his mind. It was clearly not easy for Jason to talk to her, and Brianna had to admit that this wasn't that simple for her either. It's not like everyday Brianna heard something like what Jason had said. Certainly, she had heard someone apoligize, but never had Brianna heard someone sound so confused.
When Jason said that he deserved what she said, she couldn't help but smile a little. Eh. Guess he does deserve it. Brianna thought to herself. Of course she was just joking, but right now wasn't the moment to joke around with Jason. Maybe another time, but definitely not now. Brianna absolutely believed Jason when he said that he never said the words, "I'm sorry," Brianna believed it. There couldn't be another reason why he was having a hard time talking right now. And from what Brianna saw, Jason didn't seem to be the kind of guy that had a hard time with many things. He seemed to be the kind of person who went through life, caring about few things. Brianna wouldn't be surprised if Jason was that kind of guy, but she could possibly overlook that.
Brianna just listened to Jason as he spoke about how weird he feels. I bet you do.. Brianna thought to herself. She felt awkward just talking to him, and if Brianna was having a hard time, this conversation was probably very difficult for Mr. Lévesque. The thing that really affected her deeply was the last few things that Jason said. She was the first girl?! Jason looked like he had hundreds of girlfriends before. Finally, Brianna felt important. Her parents never paid much attention to her and in school, she wasn't the most popular girl. Maybe well-known, but not too popular [at least she thought so]. And if Jason was willing to let her in, well, this seemed like a dream. "Jason, I-" Brianna said, trying to pick out the words she should say.
Since she didn't have much luck picking out words, Brianna said the first thing she could think of. Even though the words just came out of head, they were very honest. "Jason, I" Brianna repeated, "I believe you...But, this is too much for me to take on the phone. I need to see you." Brianna didn't know how she was going to talk to him for the first time in a while, but Brianna knew she would figure out something. That is, if Jason actually wanted to see her.
