It was after hours. Way after hours. Oscar Lyon flipped through his Paris Photo Album over this past summer. His assignment was pick your favorite picture you have taken over the summer and write an essay on way you like it. Sounded easy right? Wrong. The entire summer all he did was take pictures. Picking his favorite was extremely difficult for him.
He ran his fingers through his black, short, curly hair and looked up. The library was pretty deserted. The lights were off. The only lights were the desk lights located on every table. He saw a few kids here and there hunched over writing or reading. Valkyrie had only begun and already kids were overwhelmed. Oscar being one of them. He sighed heavily and flipped through the portfolio. The Eiffel Tower, some hostel, pretty French girls, the apartment he stayed in, the school went to. All this was over the summer. Every summer since he was what, 12? He went to Paris to study in the art and photography department at one of the top schools in Paris. It still had kept in touch with all his friends here via the great word called the Internet, but he enjoyed it so much and he spoke the language well, being half of it.
So the party that was over the weekend, he skipped out on. Really skipped out on. He really didn’t party at all unless Antony dragged him along or a girl asked him. And by the way, what was up with all these girls? Lusting over him though he wasn’t all the interested at the moment. It was weird and he definitely wasn’t use to it. So, the night Antony got back from the party, he just had to wake Oscar up and tell him about it. Three-thirty in the morning. With their lights in their room he filled him in on what all had happened. Antony and this chick Kiley are an item. His twin sister and Daphne got into a chick/bitch fight, but later apologized. Also, Alex hooked up with Reed Turner in the equipment shed. How classy. (Oscar made a mental note to poke fun at her the next time they were hanging out.) And some people (didn’t catch the names of) went skinny dipping in the Pacific. Oh, and they were wasted. As Antony went to turn of the light to sleep-off his non-hangover since he never drinks, he asked why he didn’t go. He missed out.
Yeah he sure did. But, this kind of stuff happened every party that was thrown at Valkyrie Academy. He could go to the next one and get an extreme case of de ja vu.

Jessica poked her head out of her dorm, checking to see if anyone was in the hall. No one, good. She didn't expect anyone to be out and about so late, but you never know. Stepping back into the room for a moment she grabbed a few books and moved back out into the hall. Her flip flops made a soft clicking sound as they hit her heels, caused by her fast walk. She was in an old tee and her pantied, and really didn't want to be seen.
The air was crisp as she moved from the dorms to the Academy library. Once inside, she gave a shiver and tip toed to the front desk to deposite her books in the slot. They were late, and she didn't want to get caught returning them and forced to pay the fee. She wasn't big on fees...or time restrictions, for that matter.
Jessi froze when she realized that a light was on. Shit.. She poked her head around a corner to see Oscar sitting at one of the long tables, flipping through a book of some sort. She chuckled to herself, and let out her breath. That boy had stirred up quite a commotion, which wasn't suprising. He was handsome.

Maybe this one... Oscar thought twenty minutes later. Yes, he was still looking for a picture with no avail. The few students that were left had left and Oscar was alone in the library with only the desk light for his company.
He heard book being dropped in the slot and he looked up, seeing no one. It didn't scare him like it might have for a character in one of his favorite scary movies but hell, this was Valkyrie. Nothing that serious happened in Valkyrie.

"You've got to me kidding me, Mr. Phillman. I told you, I was sick this morning. Seriously, my dorm is way gross right now."
"I'm sorry Anne, but I couldn't believe you even if you video taped it. Now, I'll ask you for the last time, finish your report my tomorrow morning or it's seventy five off your grade." The grungy old teacher said, as he was packing up his breifcase ready to go home. It was getting late, and Anne had skipped his class because of her massive hangover that morning. She was now regretting it. Relunctantly, she took the assignment information sheet and stomped out of his lecture hall, her Marc Jacob shoes burning fire down the corridors. Still she had not changed her outfit all day, which was starting to scare her. She usually had a different assortment of outfits throughout the day. Oh well, she was just having an off day.
The lights were dim in the corridors, and some students were being sent to bed. She gave her library pass to the hallway portrol and opened the doors to the luxurious library. The first thoughts that usually come to mind when someone walks into this amazing room is wow, or it's beautiful!. Anne's happened to be, no fucking way. Because the two people in the room happened to be Oscar, whom she had awkwardly hooked up with at a party, and tried to continue how she knew or even felt about the guy, and Jessica. Anne couldn't even describe how much she despised the peppy blonde whom was so much like herself it made Anne angry.
"Great." She muttered under her breath as she looked at her sheet and reviewed her assignment, then walked over to the librarian. The librarian was a short, stalky red headed woman with multiple chins and multiple personalities. They soon got in a long discussion about un-returned books, and not about how to find information on Edgar Allen Poe. This night was to be very long.

Jessica turned, frightened by the sound behind her. Needless to say, she was more frightened after she realized who had made the sound. Anne. She /hated/ Anne. How extremely awkward, her being in her PJ's and all.
Jessi's cheeks grew red and she cleared her throat. Just work it, act like nothing's wrong. She smiled at Anne. Fake beyong belief. "Sorry, I didn't know you and Oscar planned on having sex in the library too," she said so only Anne could hear. She had no desire of Oscar seeing the two of them at eachother's throats.
Stepping to the side, leaving Anne a full view of Oscar, Jess extended her arm in his direction. "By all means, continue. I was just heading back to my dorm anyway."

Just as he was about to take out a picture from a festival on the street he attended, someone came through the library doors in a huff. He looked up a little bit angry. Being bothered and all at this late at night. He noticed her...and the other her that had come in before. Jessica and Anne. And suddenly the library had a new light to it.
Oscar wasn't one to keep up on the latest gossip but he sure knew that Jessica and Anne didn not get along very well. Anne seemed not to notice the blonde, but, don't they always do that? Anne went right up to the librarian. It was sad to say that as un-attractive she was, Oscar often had conversations with her. Maybe it was because he was the only guy to probably ever talk to her?
He didn't want to look like an idiot, but sometimes his goffy-mess slipped out and he waved to the girl. But, which one? They both stood sorta near each other. Did Oscar just make a mistake? Knowing him, he probably just did.

Anne had ended her conversation with the librarian, whom had hurried off to find some autobiographies & poems on Edgar Allen Poe, and noticed Jessica. She gave her a sneer, not even pulling the fake smile as she listened to the insecure comment. This coming from a girl in her pajamas. She raised her eyebrows as she gave a little smirk, and answered back to her,
"Oh by all means. I wouldn't want you to be late for your slumber party with a professor." Anne said, tilting her head to the side with a smile, of course a mock happiness, just to make the insult even more powerful. Of course, she knew that Jessica had been flirting with Mr. Ward. She had to know all the dirty deeds of her enemy before they got her. She noticed Oscar wave to them and sighed. She couldn't exactly tell whom he waved to, and didn't want to make the mistake of waving back when it wasn't to her. Why would he wave to Jessica anyways? The little slut.

Jessica raised her eyebrows, "Oh my gosh, that hurt Anne!" She crossed her arms over her chest and stuck her bottom lip out. "I don't know if I'll be able to sleep tonight." She laughed. It sounded horrible; mean and nasty. She shook her head and looked at Oscar.
"She's all yours, stud. Don't wear her out, she has classes tomorrow." She waved to him, and stepped past Anne.
"I hope the condom breaks, skank."

Oscar stood there as the two girls fought... over him? Or was it his mind playing tricks on him. Too much reading and dim lights make him hear things? And it seemed like the whol 'Oscar hooked up with Anne at the party' was still coming back to him. One year later...
The story of my life... he thought. One night 9he had to admit the only thing he could remember was waking up next to her, screaming, and humilation. Yeah, if he thought real hard in his dorm with the door locked, listening to The Strokes, he could probably remember that night better. But joking about condoms? Umm. Yeah.
Taking a leap he could clumsily out of his chair and strided up to the girls, "I wasn't eavesdropping but, I thought I heard, 'Oscar' and 'sex' and decided, 'Hey that sounds like a party.'"
Was he expecting weird looks and laughs? Probably. Trying to be funny this late at night equaled not good.

Standing her ground is what Anne did best. She gave Jessica a peircing glare, and the insult was followed by an un impressed eyebrow raise. Since when were her and Oscar a sex item? And since when did Jessica know anything about Anne & Oscar? She didn't even want to know. As Jessica stepped past Anne, she replied back,
"Alright, goodnight to you too, Valkyrie's lovely whore. Don't let them professors bite too hard tonight, or you may have more STDs than before." Anne said, crossing her arms over her chest, and watched as Oscar clumsily out of his chair and into their battlezone. "Ah don't worry, if you pay Miss Jessica here enough, she'll be guarenteed to give you a party." She said, smiling to Oscar and then raising her eyebrows at the blonde.

Jessica laughed, turning around slowly. "Oh, bitch you have it coming," she warned, a grin on her face. She stepped close to Anne, kissing her gently on the cheek, as the french women do, and stood back, smiling again, with an almost sorry look on her face. She patted Anne's shoulder.
Better to not say anything and act like you don't want to argue, then rip all her hair out and break her nose, Jessi reassured herself, as she opened the door to the library and stepped outside into the fresh, cool air. The door clicked shut behind her, and all the tension was locked inside the room with that sorry excuse for a woman.

He watched the two banter for a little while longer, standing there with his hands in his back pockets. His eyes at the floor. He noticed though that Jessica left, not before kissing Anne on the cheek like old friends. God, girls did the weirdest things.
Jessica left, the door swinging behind her. He looked back up at Anne and smiled a half-smile. "Hey Anne..." he said bringing a hand up and waving at her, "How have you been? It's...been awhile."
Almost too long indeed.

"I'm shaking Ms. Holland." Anne smirked, and almost blew up as Jessica kissed her, but touche. No, she wouldn't admit that Jessica had defeated her, in which neither of them had won, and didn't do anything. As she leaned against the desk with her arms crossed, she growled as the peppy blonde took her slutty booty out the door. Hah, she so had it coming. She looked over to see Oscar had seen everything, and felt almost sorry for him. She couldn't just leave him there, and besides, he could spread it on that Jessica had won the fight. Nah, he wasn't that kind of guy, but knowing Anne, she was all about having that solid reputation. Blame it on her father.
"Oscar." She said as a way of greeting, peering over his shoulder to see that the librarian wouldn't be back anytime soon - she was talking to her long time crush Mr. Wooley, one of the custodians. It was a hot relationship, if you call a plump red headed woman and a sixty year old man who smells like Lysol hot. "I'm better..." Now that Jessica's gone, she thought to herself, "How about you? Any certain reason to be in the library so late?" No one would skip a night like this in this digusting room.

Oscar motioned is thumb behind him, "Homework. For photography," he said and paused. Should he continue, or was she bored to death already? "I went to Paris over the summer," he started taking the chance, "Took many many pictures... Do you want to see them?"
Again, with the leapiness. It was well past midnight, not a time he thought he would be seeing Anne out...and of all places, the library. "So, what are you doing here anyway?" He asked as he retreated back to his table, hoping he would follow him. But if not, that was cool too.

Anne was in love with Paris, most of the time. Mostly being from Quebec, her family was in love with going to Europe, as well as most of her family was from that lovely land. Yet, this whole summer she had been around in summer for art conventions, banquets & parades featuring; art. Talk about being amazingly boring. Not to mention that they had told her about the marriage deal that summer, and she almost blew a fuse - the reason why they did that.
"Sure. Who can resist good ole' Pari?" Anne said, saying 'Paris' as 'Par-ee' with her hint of french-canadian accent. God help her. She followed Oscar to the photo album, and sighed. That was to be expected he'd ask, because normally Anne was never in the the library. It'd be a shock to anyone to see her there. "Mr. Phillman. I skipped class today and he didn't buy it, so now I have a report due tomorrow morning. I thought I sounded convincing, but I guess people can see through you when you're obviously hung over." She admitted, a little bitter.
