reed i realized, what is wrong with me can't get over you, can't get through to you it's been a helter-skelter romance from the start ________________________ He was rehearsing in his head, all the things which soon would be said. But, Reed has a feeling everything he wanted to say to Ashley would simply just dissappear once he saw her standing there in her beauty and her elegance. Even if his thoughts were useless, it let him concentrate on only her. He had to lay everything on the line. Everything he wanted to - no - needed to say had to be said now. He couldn't hold back those feeling he just battled up inside... he just couldn't have that tonight. He was either getting her back now, or losing her forever. The last time he saw her, he was being held behind a glass window, unable to touch her. When he did that god-awful break-up, she got up one left and right when he said it, he knew he regretted it and would sell his soul just to go back only one minute. His heart broke for the first time that day. It broke because he knew he fucked up and he let the best thing going for him walk out. So, now he was on a mission, racing against the clock, and a certain bastard that he knew came here with his wife. Reed found it ironic that Ashley surrounded herself with people he really didn't like. But as much hardships they had gone through in these past few days...weeks, even months, it never swayed his feelings for her. He wanted to make things right. Apologize for every pain and tear he caused her after breaking up with her while he was in jail. Right now, he needed that someone to help him through his hard time. He was the joke of Valkyrie right now. Busted for drugs, (though they weren't his), out of a job he worked at, and not to mention basically divorced living in his shithole apartment wallowing in his mopiness. He was looking for her with his eyes. He wanted to take off the damn mask, but knew he really couldn't do that. He stopped behind one of those fake trees (or it could possibly be real for all he knew,) but, it was a scene out of one of those movies where the person hid behind a tree or a pillar, sort of like a stalker watching someone. And he was watching someone, or more like two people. A few yards away he spotted a girl he was sure was Ashley. It also helped that she was standing next to a short little fucker who had to be, no doubt about it, James. Reed glared at him behind his mask even though neither of the two could see him. He clenched his fist together when he saw James whisper something to her. They were on the dance floor and only a couple seconds later James left. Well, if Reed knew anything, he knew that this was the time he would have to take it. Who knew how long James would be gone. Bathroom? Drinks? That wouldn't be much more that a few minutes. Jumping at the chance, Reed stepped away from his hiding behind the tree and marched up to Ashley, not even knowing if she was noticing that it was him. She was still on the dance floor and Reed's mind went blank. Yup, everything he wanted to say was gone. Everything he would have to say, would have to be made up right there on the spot. "Ashley," he said her name, and it sounded weird. He reached for her hand and pulled her. Not in the Reed Turner 'i'm so crazy protective' way. It was more in the Reed Turner 'i so badly need you to listen to me' way. He pulled her gently off the dance floor so one, he could really talk to her and two, to maybe throw James off for a few seconds, because the boy was probably only down to a minute by now. He let go of her hand right when they stopped, as much as he didn't want to, he could only imagine how much she probably hated him right now. No words came out. How the fuck could he say what he really wanted to say? He must have opened his mouth up several times before any words actually came, "I've waited for this moment since I knew I might never see you again. And here it is and...I don't know what to say." Wow, for one of the first times in his life, he was at a lost of words. "Ok, I'm just going to say it. Ashley, I love you. I know I was a complete asshole a couple weeks ago, and I understand if you hate me, can't stand me, but that won't make my feelings for you change and I think deep down, you still have some feeling for me too." He was hoping everything was coming out the way he was hoping it would. What? he was down to thirty seconds now? "I know you're here with someone, but you think he knows at this very moment that he wants to be with you forever? Forever like I...I know. Ashley, I know I want to be with you forever. No one. Not your brother, not Jason, not Alex, not even James can take that away from me. Unlike him, I know Ashley, that I want to spend the rest of my life with you." He made eyecontact the whole time, really looking at Ashley so she could see how serious he was. "Reed. What are you doing here, man? I thought you were stilling behind bars in an orange jumpsuit." He knew he was coming, and he was pretty sure Ashley knew it was coming. James had to have come back at some point. "James," he replied in an equally cold tone. "Funny. I thought you were still in Flordia." Even when the kid went to Valkyrie, he never really liked him, but this thing he was having with Ashley now, was just not working out in his favor. Ok fine, they could have their thing back then, but that was before Reed came into the picture and Reed never got jealous of old boyfriends, they were a thing of the past...except this one suddenly popped back into the present. "So, do you usually do this? Take other guys' girlfriends...or in this case wives to balls like this?"[/blockquote]

Post by Dean Stillings on Dec 22, 2007 2:18:55 GMT -6
"There's a place for you on therapy's couch, Just let me get my clipboard and a condom" ((a quote from a friend)) +-------+
Dean stepped further into the party which was already raging around him. So many people in Valkyrie of all ages surrounding them but he was pretty sure the majority were college and high school students. Dean was technically neither since he wasn't at school full time anywhere. He pulled his collar straight weaving a bit through the expansive crowd in the Giovanni's rather huge ballroom. Everyone looked amazing. No where in the world was there a place filled with more beautiful people than Valkyrie, and since he was Dean Stillings he could almost say that with 100% certainty. He dodged a girl who went rushing past and he set eyes on a girl he recognized immediately. His niece, Laura. She was dancing with a rather tall boy with dark hair. He looked built which amused Dean, laura had never been into athletes before. But maybe with what was happening with chase, a jock felt secure to her. ((She's dancing with talan, since I have lack of muse I am starting the post in the past and bringing it to the present)). Dean wondered then for a moment if he should speak with her again.
No, he had promised himself and her for that matter that tonight was a night to forget the drama for a while and just live life. Little did either of them realize that there was no such thing as a drama free night, at least, there was no such thing in Valkyrie.
Dean turned away from the girl, leaving her dancing and seeming to have a wonderful time but glanced back once more. She was wearing her mother's dress. He remembered that dress. When he was... what he had to be ten or so. Laura's mother, his sister-in-law, had worn that dress to Chase's 9th birthday dinner at a restaurant of his choosing, she had died exactly a week later. Why would laura being wearing it now? Especially when his brother, her father, was so obsessed with Laura looking and feeling like her mother. God that sounded dirty and it was still a light way of putting things but perhaps Dean need not worry so much about the girl. Anyways Dean had been one to hurt her as well and he knew that. Dean turned away again, accepting a glass of Champagne from one of the servers. He could pass as 21 or over, he hardly ever was carded. Besides, he doubted that many of the kids here were being carded. He took a sip and looked around. He didn't hear any crazy, drunk girl flirtations yet. Sad he had missed Amanda. Dean smirked slightly. Him and Amanda weren't together, not even close. Repeated fling would be the best way to describe them. And yeah, he was pretty sure she was still head over heels for her ex boyfriend and only really serious boyfriend, Joey, he thought his name was. And who was Dean to intrude upon that when there were so many lovely women to chose from?
Although, Dean wasn't sure he wanted just anyone anymore. He might actually want someone to be serious with. He just didn't know if it was possible. Besides, he would probably be leaving again soon. And no girl in her right mind would get serious with Dean Stillings due to his reputation with leaving without warning and his fairly active sex life. But then again, if he was with a girl, he would be loyal, until they broke up or he skipped town. He took another sip and wandered around, mingling, doing whatever he fancied for awhile before heading over to get another drink. As he was in this particular area he stood next to a girl that although wore a mask, anyone could tell she was beautiful((daphne)). But he didn't really think much about it until he overheard some other girls speaking.
"Yeah. The stupid bitch got raped." "Well, it's not like she wasn't asking for it. Who the fuck rejects Jason Levesque?"
My god they couldn't be serious. People should be able to pull out of sex, making out, foreplay, or anything they are doing anytime they feel uncomfortable. Nothing makes anything like rape acceptable. Even if it was one of his good friends. Yeah He knew Jason and he knew him well. He always knew Jason was a fire-cracker but rape? Dean didn't ever think for a moment, Jason could go that far into the Dark side. These girl's words seemed to effect the girl he stood next to as she rather suddenly clutched her drink as though it were a healing elixir and exited the room. Must be the "stupid bitch". He thought for a moment about the entire evening and how, things were always interesting and yet for him tonight he had a choice. Potential to perhaps earn some karma points and try to cheer someone up, letting it be a bonus of it being a beautiful girl, or go about his evening as planned, avoiding his niece and flirting with multiple girls and truth be told, he just wasn't in the mood for a party tonight. So he took his glass and followed the girl in the chocolate brown dress. He stepped out into the gardens and spotted the girl on a stone bench. He sighed slightly, she looked torn up. He walked over to her cautiously, not wanting t scare her or seem like he was trying to hit on her. He stayed casual, attempting to not look like he had pity. He knew from Laura and Chase, Pity was almost as insulting as the people who mocked in the first place. He sat down at the other end of the bench and glanced at the ground before pulling a handkerchief from his pocket, god he had always wondered if his dad's old hanky would come in handy and he had always doubted it but whatever, it was good for this moment as he noticed her watery eyes.
He offered it over to her simply by holding it off to his side. He didn't look at her quite yet, not sure if she was ready to be seen. "It's obvious those girls were dropped repeatedly as infants, I wouldn't suggest you take their words to heart." He finally said, keeping his voice low, calm, and relatively non-chalant.

♥ n a t a l i e_______________ Oh, if Nikki only knew. Maybe if Natalie called her after this entire masquerade ball ended, she would regret not going. After all, Nikki regretted a lot of things - Well, lately she has been regretting things. Natalie didn't like seeing her older sister feeling so down, but she didn't know how to cheer her up. The little silly songs they would sing together only made her slightly smile. Not even a half smile, but just like one-eighth of it. The inside jokes they had only sometimes made her smile, but luckily, Nikki has been healing. Not healing from the car accident not to long ago, but her personality was healing. She was slowly turning back to her old self. The happy and fun girl that most people knew, and the girl that Natalie looked up to.
But there was also a possibility that nikki did want to come. The things she said could have been excuses. Nikki might have not ocme because she just wasn't ready for events. Nobody might know what the true reason was, but Natalie had a feeling that Nikki hyst didn't feel ready to go to events like these. If Natalie thought about it, Nikki was half right. She had gotten hurt so many times this year - both emotially and physically. And if she went to this ball and met someone new, she could possibly get hurt again. And it wasn't like there was no possible chance that Nikki wouldn't meet a guy. Natalie had just come here to have fun, maybe talk to some friends, but here she was. Dancing with some mystery guy.
The last thing Natalie was thinking of was getting her heartbroken by this guy. She didn't even know who he was or what he even looked like. She only knew several things about him, and they danced. That's nothing to big, right? Plus, the chances of Natalie seeing him were not very likely considering how they never told the other their names and the two didn't exchange any kind of contact information. Natalie didn't know why she didn't ask, but she could always ask right now. Yet, she was having a great time and didn't think of the future. Natalie just wanted to enjoy this night, and hopefully, start the new year with this guy. They would take their masks off, and Natalie would know what he looked like. At least, that's what she thought would happen.
This night was turning out much better than she expected. She really liked this boy, and he seems like the kind of person she could easily talk to. Then again, Natalie could talk to just about everyone, but talking to this mystery guy seemed different. Their conversations made her smile several times and of course, Natalie liked it. So far this year, nothing bad had happened to Natalie. She had about one crush this entire year, but the fact that she liked that boy soon vanished. There were a lot of things that occured in Valkyrie, but Natalie was never a victim. She didn't want to start now, when having one of the best nights in her life, but she knew it would end soon. So, Natalie just cherished the moment, for she knew that her time with this boy would soon be a mere memory.
Though she heard the new years countdown, Natalie didn't join in. That only meant that this was soon going to be over. Natalie planned to take off her mask and tell this boy her name, but before she could, the guy did something first - He kissed her. Though Natalie wasn't expecting it, that didn't mean that she didn't like it. What a great way to start the new year. When the kiss was over, Natalie was about to do what she planned in her mind, but once again, the guy took action first. And this time, it wasn't as good. He was leaving, and Natalie was slightly disappointed. Her fairytale was over. When he started to leave, Natalie said, "But I-" she couldn't finish it considering he was gone.
Taking her mask off, the night was over. She didn't even know the guy's name or what he looked like. Just move on.. Natalie thought to herself, but she couldn't. That boy was still on her mind, but she didn't know what to do about it. Okay, maybe this wasn't the best way to start a new year.

Post by Paolo Giovanni on Dec 22, 2007 15:27:07 GMT -6
paolo. time was standing still _______________________
Paolo had witnessed a lot. Not too much, but enough to know there were two type of 'bad guys'. The merciful kind, and the pyschotic kind. Paolo, could not pin-point what type this guy was, but he had a feeling he was boarderline pyschotic. The fact that he just waltzed in on the Giovanni homestead like he owned the place was scary even for the senior who often wasn't scared. The guy had confidence, and wasn't even afraid to show his face. Being around his father, he was already racking his brain for anything that might clue on who the mystery man, but he was drawing blanks. He had been busy with finals all last week so his mother really never told him what had happened, if anything at all. Well, it was obvious that something indeed did happen, and it must have been something big. Enough for one of the messangers, or a gruder himself to come down to Valkyrie, dress the part and locate Paolo at his party.
His mind was still on overdrive and he was still on high alert. His posture was stiff and his eyebrows were in a slight furrow. His eyes were on Sam as well as the area around them. He was shifting into his protectiveness quite quickly that it was like he usually did. He wanted to forget something like this happening, forget about it until tomorrow and enjoy the rest of 2006 that he could. Paolo though, was having a hard time with that. It was in the back of his mind and was making a point to come back at him and propose many other questions like 'What if he comes back tonight?' What if he finds your father tonight?' What if he loses it and ends up killing someone?' Well, this sure was getting the best of him. His older brother was coming back to Valkyrie this next day. Maybe he would have information for him that would fill in the blanks and connect the dots Paolo was trying to connect himself. Maybe he should call his father now? But he didn't know where his father was going with his mother tonight and didn't want to disturb them. He'd just have to call them tomorrow. He could already imagine his father blowing up and scowring both Los Angeles and Valkyrie to find the guy who threatened him using his family members to do it.
"Come on," Paolo said and shifted behind her, putting a hand on her back and pushing her slightly forward. He gave another cleansweep of the dark places in the garden before continuing, "I wonder what we all missed back inside. You hungry? Thristy? I make a mean grilled cheese. I'm thinking one of the chef's can gave me a spot on the oven, don't you think?" He grinned, looking down at her as they walked on the pathway back up to the house. Paolo was really disappointed about the guy ruining their moment. It was so special that you really couldn't go back into that mood once interuppted. So, you just had to move on from that no matter how much you really didn't want to.
They got to the door they had gone through earlier. You could already hear the business of the kitchen behind it. Dishes clattering, voices shouting, foods being cooked. He reached for the knob, but stopped. He hesitated and dropped his hand down at his side. "Sam, could you do me a favor?" he asked as he felt for his mask on top of his head, makign sure it was still there. "Could we maybe not mention what happened back there to anyone? I'm sorry what happened back there, but I really don't need people to talk." He knew a lot of people already whispered about the Giovanni family before, but this might freak some of the guests out a bit. Some crazy man coming in and threatening? Not exactly a party favor. Plus, the whole conversation was on the freaky side, even for paolo, who had heard things like that said before. Paolo had a feeling that Sam wouldn't tell, like most girls would. He was sure she didn't even understand half the conversation anyway, but he wan't to make sure what happened back there wouldn't be repeated.

ashley adams You tell me that you're sorry Didn't think I'd turn around, and say; It's too late to apologize
It was meant to be. James and Ashley suited each other perfectly. They were each others complete opposites, but, at the same time, they had everything in common. Ashley felt comfortable with James, it was just so stress free with him. With Reed, every day was a rollercoaster, and even though, she enjoyed the ride, it felt good to get off, and relax. It was fun for her back then, the ups and downs, it made everything more interesting. But now, she didn’t need excitement, she just needed someone, who loved her, and who she loved back. She didn’t need all the extra complications. And with James everything was just love story perfect, the way things are supposed to be.
To tell the truth, even though it made things a tad complicated, Ashley kind of enjoyed this whole mask thing. It made everything feel more romantic in many ways. No one knows who you are with the mask, and you don’t know who anyone else it, other then your date. So it gave a huge feeling a privacy, like it was just the two of you, it caused much less worry. And that felt good. Another thing to be enjoyed about the masks was, that you could hide from certain people, which was just what Ashley was trying to do tonight. After Reeds voicemail, she couldn’t help but worry. This was supposed to be a perfect night, the night Ashley and James got to start the new year with each other, just like old times. She didn’t need Reed to come and complicate that.
James was definitely not the best dancer Ashley had ever seen, but, to be honest, that made this whole night a lot more fun. She enjoyed the off beat movements of his hips, and the way his foot placement was always wrong. It was something that they both could joke about, and something that gave her another reason to become closer to him, to teach him. Ha, like that was what she was really doing. Ashley smiled weakened a bit as he said he was going to go get the drinks. She hated whenever he left her side, which wasn’t often. She just didn’t feel as safe, but mainly because even if he was gone for a moment, she missed him. Nodding, she gave him a kiss on the cheek; and reluctantly let him go off. A surprise? Yet another thing she loved about him, his knack for surprises.
Then, just as James went off, Ashley's worst fear came true. Her name was called, by a voice that she would be able to recognize from a mile away. Reed had followed through, and found her. She whipped around, “Reed,” she said, taking a deep breathe. She pulled her hand back away from him Following him off the dance floor, she shifted her weight to one leg, and put her hand on her hip. “What the hell are you doing here?” she asked, him, obviously un happy about him being here. She listened to his first statement, “Reed, please hurry this up, I don’t want to keep my date waiting” Ashley said, emphasizing the word date.
Ashley listened to him speak; “Do you honestly think that you could say ‘I love you’ and everything will be okay?” she asked him. “Because your mistaken if thats what you think. Because if you loved, me, really loved me, for one, you wouldn’t break up with me, and for two, you wouldn’t come and ruin my new years. Really Reed, I still have the slightest feelings for you, but come to your fucking senses, do you really expect me to come back to you, after all these times of breaking my heart? First you choose another girl over me, then you tell me to kill myself, then you get my cousin pregnant, then you don’t stick up for me at your parents, then you ignore me, then you leave me, then you break up with me, over a fucking phone. And you come here, and expect me to come back to you? What the fuck?” Was she being a bitch? Hell yeah she was, Reed had never seen this side of her, heck she hadn’t ever seen this side of herself. It just goes to show, the most innocent people, could be the most coldest, spiteful, bitches when the wanted.
She let him continue speaking before she continued her, well, bitching. “ Well for one, Reed, you know nothing about James and my plans, he could have come back from fucking Florida for me, because he loves me and wants to be with me forever. You have no fucking clue, so don’t even start with that bull shit .And ,actually Reed, your right, none of those people could interfere with us spending forever together, but your forgetting one person, me. And I’m just not going to let it happen. I really cant handle being hurt again, and I know, that with you, that’s impossible”
James was back, and no doubt, he was pissed off. Ashley clung to his arm, and starred Reed in the eyes. Even though now Reed and James were going back and forth, all three of them knew, that underneath it all, this was between Reed and Ashley. And as of now, Ashley had the upper hand, and she didn’t intend on loosing it.

♥ s a m a n t h a_______________ This night was amazing. At least for Samantha, it was. She wasn't sure about what other people doing, or how they were feeling, but Samantha was certainly enjoying tonight. She hadn't expected the night to turn out like this - Actually, Samantha never thought that something like this would ever happen. She just thought that tonight would be just a night where she just talked to Paolo and he would show her around. But this night was much more, what's the word...magical than she thought. They had kissed and Paolo knew how to make her insides twist and flip. The only thing Samantha could have lived without was that freaky guy. He slightly ruined the moment she simply adored, and there was no way to go back in time.
That moment ended as fast as it started. Now, it seemed so clear to Samantha that she really liked Paolo Giovanni. Before, it was just a little thing. Now she new that she really liked him. And Samantha felt happy when they kissed because that meant that he liked her back. Unless he was just playing with her and pretending to be all sweet, but really doesn't care about Sam at all. She certainly doubted that Paolo was that kind of guy. Even though she had known him for a short amount of time, Samantha felt like she knew a lot about Paolo. Sure, they still had some things to learn about each other, but hopefully those things would be learned in the future. But maybe something would get in the way of things.
Samantha walked as Paolo slightly guided her. She shook her head when he asked her if she was hungry or thristy. Samantha let out a little gigglish-laugh when Paolo spoke about making a grilled cheese. "I'm not very hungry," Samantha said, "But if you are, then we can eat...or something." Samantha hadn't been very hungry or thirsty today. She wasn't sure why. Actually, Samantha wasn't the kind of girl that ate a lot, but it wasn't like she had any problems. If she didn't eat enough, she would get hungry just like anyone else might if they hadn't ate in a while. Plus, the masquerade ball would end soon and Samantha wanted to hang out with Paolo for as long as she could. She didn't want to seem to clingy, but it was always nice to be around a person like him. Samantha enjoyed the ball, even though they weren't inside much. It didn't make much of a difference if Samantha was outside or inside, except for the number of people.
Following Paolo, Samantha was ready to enter back into the place. It most likely was more crowded than it was earlier, but Samantha was just have to see. She thought that Paolo was going to open the door, but he seemed to stop. When Paolo asked for a favor, Samantha nodded. It was just a favor, no big deal, right? Samantha expected him to say something like, "Can you get me -insert item here-" or something along those lines, but apparently, Samantha thought wrong. Paolo asked her to not tell anyone. Honestly, Samantha thought it would be no problem since she didn't talk to many people, but it might slip out. Samantha was sure that she could keep this a secret, but she didn't sound so sure. "I..Err...Yes..I...Um.." Samantha paused trying to get her words together. "I mean- Sure. No problem. Don't worry about it."
"Now, shall we continue this night?" Samantha asked. She was soo ready to erase the creepy man from her memory.

james costello nothing can compare to when you roll the dice and swear your loves for me decemeber 31st, 2006 ; evening ______________________________ Some people enjoyed reading tabloids on a spare weekend, rounded up with some Scandal Star, rumor mill and any kind of gossip they could possibly grasp their moronic minds around. For some reason, reading about drama and maybe even purposely engulfing yourself in drama was something of amusement to the people of Valkyrie. It fascinated James, because never, and he meant, never had he ever tried to force himself into drama. Nor did he ever respond to gossip unless it was Oscar's endless rants over coffee about really nothing but blubbering rubbish. However, the problem with James, was that like his sister, although not as much as an exaggerated state, he had a similar case of bad luck. Bad family, moving away at the wrong time and making enemies or maybe his quick judgment. Usually the both combined.
To be honest, Reed and James' hatred for each other didn't begin with Ashley Adams, although she was, at the moment, their main argument of possession. It started when they were on the soccer team. They didn't work well together and were constantly red carded for pushing each other on the field. They were just two very different people with very different ambitions. Reed owned a disgusting bar, James wanted to be a director. Reed was a typical bad ass, and James was a cynical emotional brick wall. However, when James moved away, he felt that that was the biggest mistake of it all. Not only would Reed have met Ashley, but if James had never left, he'd probably still be with Ashley and the two of them would of never made the mistake of getting married. It was stupid and if anything, why would someone marry Reed? Just look at the guy.
And that's exactly what James Costello did, as he finally approached them and protectively put his arm around Ashley's waist. His cold stare was something of infamous, and something he had given to Reed many of many times before. His eyes beneath his plain mask was cold and his grasp on Ashley was tighter. And as Reed made the comment, James grinded his teeth together, but suddenly, Ashley defended him. It's not that he really needed it, but hell - it's better that she would tell Turner off so the guy would get the picture. Ashley and James were meant to be together, or so James believed, and quite honestly, it seemed that Reed wasn't getting the picture. Besides, after listening to all the things Reed had done to hurt Ashley, James only wanted to kick his ass more.
"Funny, you know, besides hurting the love of my life on a twenty four hour basis, I think you're forgetting something." James said, clearing his throat and letting go of Ashley stepping in front of Reed. "Ashley was mine to begin with, and will be mine to end with. You dumped her, and now I am here to pick up the pieces, because you know what? I love her a hell lot more than you do, and it doesn't need to be shown through some Las Vegas marriage that I won't even try and dig my nails into." James then looked Reed up and down with a disgusted look on his face, lifted his finger and poked Reed in the chest forcefully. "So, if you don't leave my date and I alone now, I'll get to do what I've wanted to do to you for years." James said, obviously meaning kicking Reed's ass. They had fought before, sure, but if anything, this would one mean a lot more, especially now that Ashley was in the picture.
"Just leave now, man. Alright?" James said, lifting his finger from pushing Reed's chest forcefully and simply stared him down.

x Put your name on the line along with place and time Wanna stay not to go I wanna ditch the logical Here's a toast to all those who hear me all too well +--------+
Yeah so this party was lame, why did she come? Although she couldn't say that it was just a bunch of stuffy upper class bastards since she had seen a number of Shak kids wandering around. She saw Faden which made her smile and Laura dancing. If she hadn't known better good lord it looked like they were lovers. But ew, the thought of Laura and Faden was a little bizarre but anyways. Liz had just wandered away from Zack a few minutes ago and was speaking to this guy with a red and blue mask on that reminded her quite a lot like superman and as he went on and on about his life and everything he liked to keep in his car (which since he was talking to a girl had to be blankets, pillows, red christmas lights and a small space heater, pretty much he owned a cheesy bachelor pad on wheels and hidden by rusty grey van doors) Liz liked to zone him out and look around the ball. She saw Laura again, alone but beautiful. Zack talking to some guy who was needless to say sexy from the back view but you never know with people, for all she knew the man could have rotting teeth but seeing as Zack has a great fear of gross teeth and Zack smiled, she doubted it. Although, Zack's smile was a tad awkward looking, only a half smile and slightly crooked, leaning towards the left side of his face. Shit, he's talking to Riley.
Liz rolled her eyes slightly and put a finger up, "I'll be right back." She said to the guy in the red and blue mask before taking his glass of champagne out of his hand just as he began to raise it to his lips. She took a quick sip and walked away without a word, explanation or even a flirtatious wink. She had no intention of returning to this boy for conversation or any type of sensation for that matter. She made across the room winking slightly as she caught Andrew's eyes. He simply smirked back at her slightly and rolled his eyes. She smiled back but continued walking. Now he was important to her. He was her brother, an honorary Hughes. Zack was an important friend. Coco and Amanda were her girls and those should remain the only good connections here. What had been with her lately anyways? She was less rude, less crass and although that is usually considered an improvement, Liz hated any and all change. Andrew used to say Liz was like Mary Poppins in her mind, "practically perfect in every way." Liz wasn't really sure she got it until he showed her the movie Mary Poppins which, needless to say, wasn't the typical childhood film for the average baby siren. But now, Liz had changed, she was in a weird mood for the greater parts of each day. The only times old Liz wasn't stifled was when she was spatting around with Max Sin'claire which made sense, since he was almost exactly like the guys she knew back home. Although he was a bit more... not prim...not sissy... not clean cut but his standards of living were far above the others and his speaking a lot more eloquent. But no matter how many ten dollar words he worked into his conversation, he was still the same type of asshole.
So that must be it, she just needed to go home and get away from all the nice, clean people and spend a bit more time with her Coco, her Amanda and her Jason. She would say Reed but Reed's changed a bit. She still adored the guy, but he had changed, for the better mostly due to Ashley. She glanced around, yep Reed was here and trying to talk to ashley with what looked like much difficulty. She turned away and saw Coco and smiled, she looked fantastic as always. And there was Riley again. He looked as though he was looking for someone and seeing as he had been talking to Zack and what had happened he was probably looking for her. Better deal with it, lie a few times and let it be down. Leave it to Riley Turner to not let it drop. She took a few steps towards him but she was cut off by a few people she knew from around Valkyrie, no one important, no one truly worth while but subconsciously she was thrilled they had run into her for it gave her an excuse to avoid riley more.
"Liz, It's me. Can I talk to you for a second?"
So the great detective finally spotted her. She looked up at him, "Me....?" She repeated slightly, putting a finger to her chin as if she was thinking hard, "Me?" She repeated again, "Me could be a lot of people..." She added but she caught his eyes and could see how serious he was. She rolled her eyes, and put her empty glass of champagne in her friend's hand, well sort of friend's hand "Fine, why not?" She replied taking his unspoken suggestion of going to the more secluded corner of the room. She stepped past him and made her way over to the corner before turning around and looking up at him, "You beckoned?"

beckett randolf , laughin' like it works bleeding like it dont hurt knock you off your feet even if you need me tear you apart, hey now i need you _________ Beckett had been at some random party in the Shaks when his phone vibrated in his pocket. Determined not to spend New Years alone, he had called some random people he barely knew and found out about a couple parties he could hit up. He was drunk before he got there, having spent the majority of the money he had received for Christmas on alcohol. He had flushed the drugs he had boughten last week, determined not to sink that low and no girl was worth it – not even Amberly. Speaking of Amberly, she was one whose voice he heard when he answered the vibrating cell phone. Beckett had to admit, he was surprised, she was definitely not the person he had expected to be speaking to on New Years.
And he definitely had not expected that he’d be on his way to pick her up.
That drunken phone call – or well he couldn’t tell if Amberly was drunk, but he definitely was – was clouding all his judgment as he hopped in the beat up Chevy his father thought would be appropriate for his first car and headed towards the Giovanni mansion where he had been asked to drive to. Drinking and driving was not something he thought was smart and usually he was the first to shake his head at anyone who bragged to have actually done it. It just seemed so stupid and foolish – to put your life not to mention the lives of others in jeopardy so freely was disturbing, yet here he was trying to get from point A to B, plastered out of his mind.
Beckett’s celebrations had started at about four with a beer he had snuck into his dorm room and steadily increased until about fifteen minutes ago where he had been doing tequila shots with some new friends. It felt good to be friendly again, to be open to the whole idea of having a good time while not being hung up on the past. He felt like he had been making good progress after being blown off by Amberly – he had even flirted a little bit, and then of course she called and he dropped everything to rush to her aid. No matter how much she burned him, he just kept going back.
Beckett, although a little shaky and slightly scared for his life, made his way to the large driveway and saw Amberly sitting outside. Pulling to a sharp stop about fifteen steps from where she was sitting, he put the car in park and beeped his horn. Leaning across the passenger seat he opened the door, and looked at her. A grin came over his face as he waited for her to hop in.

i wish that there was so much more than that about me and you By the time that Beckett had arrived at the mansion to pick Amberly up, the fake sense of being warm that the alcohol had given her had disappeared, and she was now shivering almost uncontrollably. That didn’t matter to her though because she was happy and was determined to make the rest of the night be as amazing as possible. She had broken up with Regan, which meant that she was free to fly back to Beckett and be happy, but for some reason she knew that a bump in the road was bound to come; that would be perfectly fine with her as long as it didn’t happen that night. She wanted to finish off the night with a bang - a good bang, and with her being drunk, it was the perfect time to do just that.
The horn honking caught the girl’s drunken attention. A huge smile crossed her face as she threw down the bottle of vodka into the yard, the servants could pick it up in the morning along with every other bottle, and she picked up her clutch. Slowly, she stumbled her way to the car and finished pulling open the already half open door. As soon as she shut the door Amberly’s shivering slowed. Beckett’s car could have been warm or not, she wasn’t exactly sure, but what she did know was that it was warmer than the outside because there was no breeze in in.
“Myyyy Prince Charming came to the rescuuuueeee!!!” Amberly said gleefully as she dropped her bag in her lap and wrapped her arms around Beckett. She was so glad to see him, and even happier that he had actually come to save her from a night of hell. That showed her that he actually cared and wasn’t too pissed about the whole boyfriend thing. Well, actually, he probably was still pissed about it, but Am was having a hard time reading him that night because of how trashed she was.
After she let go of him, she leaned in and kissed him full on the lips. God, she had been waiting so long to get a chance to do that again. Beckett was probably the best kisser she knew, even better than that arrogant jerk Regan Turner, the bastard. “Ewwww, and he’s been driiiiinkiiiiing…” Drunk or sober, Am hated it when Beckett drank. Hell, she hated it when anyone drank, and it wasn’t any help to Beckett that she could tell the taste of alcohol and even smell it on his breath.
Am sank back into seat, actually she kind of fell back into her seat, and crossed her arms over her chest. She was upset now. “Whyyyy were you drinking?” she asked in a bitchy tone. Oh she didn’t know what she was doing, did she? She was about to start something that was going to end the night that she wanted to be so wonderful, and she was doing it over something so stupid - drinking. Amberly had been drinking that night too, so it made no sense for her to be getting upset with Beckett for drinking, but hell, that’s what she was doing and there was no way of stopping her.

reed. i can't buy you nice things, like big diamonds rings but that don't mean much anyway. ______________________
“Do you honestly think that you could say ‘I love you’ and everything will be okay?”
Reed was expecting her not to be forgiving. How many times in the past few months had Reed actually broke her heart? Yeah, Reed rested his case. He wasn't proud of it, nor did he ever want to repeat that. Now, she was the one breaking his heart, and he knew he was going to deserve every ounce of her anger. "No. Of course I didn't but-" Reed was cut off by her voice as she ruled over him and continued her rant, which was chalk-full of hate. It sounded to him like she had wanted to say all this stuff to him for a long time. Every fuck-up he committed while they were together she was acknowledging it and it was like a stab wound to his heart. He stood there, taking it like a man, even though all he wanted to do was tell her how much he was sorry and all the horrible things he had done he had finally woken up and realized her really had been an arrogant prick to Ashley, to his family, and to so many other girls. Jason had told him the night at the club that he was whipped, and Reed would be the first person to agree now. Yes, he was whipped. Fucking whipped and the only girl in the entire world that could tame this once wild player was Ashley.
But, the tables had turned. It had always been Reed that yelled at her, telling how much she made mistakes. When Ashley was saying all these things, it felt like he was looking at himself, did he usually sound like this? She had it down to the last cuss word and list of things he did wrong. He wanted to say so much to her, she had always defended herself, he on the other hand wouldn't. First you choose another girl over me. He technically was dating Alex, right? If anything Reed had cheated on Alex with Ashley... Then you tell me to kill myself. Yeah, that was what he said wasn't it? After he said that, Joey gave him a visit to attempt to straighten him out. But Reed hadn't been getting it had he? Then you get my cousin pregnant. Reed looked away at this. He indeed have a fling with Scarlett, Ashley's cousin. But that was even before Alex and it was only a one night stand. No one besides Ashley, Scarlett, their families, and Reed knew that the firery blonde had actually been pregnant with her baby. Then you don’t stick up for me at your parents. That night, Reed would like to forget. But she was right. Though Ashley did want to go meet them even after Reed warned her about Seamus. He was her husband, his father shouldn't have walked over him like that. Reed should have defended her, Then you ignore me, then you leave me, then you break up with me, over a fucking phone. Everything had led up to those last few weeks before it all fell apart, right in front of his eyes.
"I know those aren't my most...shining moments when we were together. But Ash, what...what about all the good times? Like when we first met, in the Valkyrie gym? Remember when we connected right from the start? And what about running away from the gangsters...three times. Playing playstation, walks in the parks, and watching each other sleep. And Ashley....our wedding. It may not have been the most romantic of times, but we had each other, and I now see if I was faced wtih the same situation I'd do it again the same way. Down to the slipping that pop bottle on your ring finger." Reed, forced out a chuckle, remember that entire night, he explained it to her, forcing her to remember, painting the same picture in her head as he was invisioning it in his.
"And I’m just not going to let it happen. I really cant handle being hurt again, and I know, that with you, that’s impossible” And it was as if she just slapped him across the face. It stung him hard. "Is that all I did to you, Ashley? Honestly? All I did was hurt you? You..." he stopped for a moment and rubbed his eyes with his hand. He was hurt, bruised, and felt like he was dying. "You were....no, you still are everything to me."
Once he saw James put his arm around his waist, did Reed nlow out a sigh of frustration, his hard eyes settling on James. "Funny, you know, besides hurting the love of my life on a twenty four hour basis, I think you're forgetting something." Reed shoved his hands in his pockets and stared with complete hate into James' eyes. "Oh really? And what would that be?" He lifted his head slightly up and squinted his eyes as if he was really wanting to hear what James had to say. "Ashley was mine to begin with, and will be mine to end with..." Reed rolled his lips together as his hands molded into tight fists and listened to James. Ok, whatever, they were together but they broke up. Somehow within only a few days Ashley was in the arms of another boy? That had to be no more than a temorary coping mechanism after breaking up with someone she truly loved; him. "I know I may not have known Ashley for as long as you did, James. But I do know that you are picking up pieces and going simply into a re-bound romance." He knew he was saying all this in front of Ashley and it was kind of mean but James right now was making his blood boil more than Joey and Jason did. He already had disliked James since they were on the same soccer team, but now that he swooped in and took the only thing in his life that made sense sent Reed over the edge.
"Just leave now, man. Alright?"
When James poked him in the chest, he was tempted to take his stubby finger and snap it in half. He should have shoved him back. Tit for tat, right? But Reed just took the white mask off his face, crinkling it as he mashed it up in his hand. The mask wasn't very sturdy, mind you he had just got it that afternoon. He threw it on the floor and didn't even care if people knew he was. He removed his other hand from his pocket and left them both hanging on his side, still curled up in fists. He turned his back to the two. He lost. Failed miserably. He came and was denied to fucking James Costello who could never measure up to Ashley with love or even height. Reed inhaled and exhaled before announcing, "No, I feel like staying." Reed turned back around with one swift gesture and lunged himself at James with his one fist connecting with the pansy boy's jaw as both the two boys tumbled to the floor.

daphnei'm trapped in a world that i can't take where everything's unrealistic & fake i'm hiding out & planning my escape, please come, and rescue me tonight. ___________________
She held her glass close to her as she half hugged herself with her other arm. This was turning into the worst party ever. First, her cousin wouldn't come with her. Second, she couldn't find any of her friends at all. Third, she witnessed someone talking shit about her behind her back. 206 sucked, and Daphne was damn sure 2007 wasn't going to be any better. This was stupid. She was expecting some great night and all she got was a big 'fuck you'. This wasn't fun, and she wanted to go home, fall asleep with a bottle of hard liquor in her hand. That sounded a hell of a lot better than sitting her ass out in the cold asking herself why people had to be annoying assholes. Her mask began to itch and she put her cup down for a moment to itch the bridge of her noes. Jesus and on top of all this, she was feeling mighty uncomfortable in this metal mask and tight strapless dress. What was she going to do? No, not about whether to stay or skip out. But on the greater outlook on life.
When she heard that Jason and Amanda skipped town, Daphne couldn't help but feel a little jealous. Not at the fact that is was Jason or Amanda, but the whole leaving town. Sometimes, Daphne wondered what it would be like if you just left, got away for a while. God knows Valkyrie steals your soul if you stay there for too long. But...This year had already been so tough on her. School, friends, and all that drama. What if she just moved in with other relatives, she had so many. Relatives out of Valkyrie that was. She was even a little of jealous of Chanel, who was able to come and go at her own will. But no, Daphne was stuck. She felt like she was changed to the bare roots of Valkyrie and she wouldn't ever be able to escape it, get away. Daphne heaved a freat sigh and leaned over, putting her elbows on her legs and staring straight out into the horizon.
Daphne was so caught up in her own little pity-fest she didn't even notice someone come out into the garden until she noticed someone sit right next to her. She sat up straight, stiffling in the process, and casted a glance at a male sitting with her. She frowned a bit wondering how much he saw of her sitting here, if he even knew who she was. She folded her arms across her chest and eyed him suspiciously. When he took out the handkerchief, she looked at it for a moment, not taking it. What exactly was going on. Did she really look that torn up? When a boy took out a handkerchief, offering it to a girl, that girl must look pretty screwed over.
"It's obvious those girls were dropped repeatedly as infants, I wouldn't suggest you take their words to heart."
Oh shit, he knew. He was probably standing there when those girls started to bash her. Whoever he was, she wondered if he was one of those boys who would end up telling some one that they found Daphne Hayes crying at the masquerade ball. She lifted her chin up a bit and said, "I honestly have no idea what you are talking about." She looked at him with a bit of a puzzled look, though her voice was with complete confidence. After another moment of silence she ended up taking the handkerchief from his hand and turned her head away to dab her eyes underneath her mask. Last thing she wanted was the mascara to run, right? She picked up her glass, which still was sitting on the bench and took a long drink. She folded her arms across her chest again, still holding his handkerchief and looked at him. "Ok, look. I don't know what you think you heard, but it doesn't have aaanything to do with why I am out here." It was safe to say that made no sense whatsoever, but Daphne nodded like it did.

bella ainsworth 6 bottles went down the drain one hours a waste of time I'd ask if you feel the same still pushin that chance to try Tonight, with the disguise party hiding who she was, Bella didn’t give a care if she was talking to her “arch-enemy”. That word is a bit over the top, even for her, but with everybody else talking it seemed the right word to call Bailey. Right now though, in the middle of all these people who had no clue who they were, Bailey was her friend of sorts. Lately all of these questions had been wandering her normally elusive mind. Of course it was the right thing to do, to leave, but how can she hide it for so long. She was never good with words so how would she manage to tell even her best of friends? Why in the hell was she constantly worrying about this? It would have to come out soon.
"Come on Bella - at least one of us was bound to bring alcohol"
Grinning now, Bella was finally in a happy state of mind. She always knew who she could turn to for alcohol, cigs, or the more toxic substances. She wasn’t even sure if she wanted to deal with those mishaps anymore. No, she knew she didn’t want to. They only got her in trouble. Alright, maybe alcohol was fine but but everything else, no. Everything was in a controlled state of mind when she was drunk. Bella when she was drunk at least knew where she belonged and knew what could happen. Oh of course she knew.
As she watched Bailey wave toward the front entrance and start maneuvering her way through the crowd, Bella seemed to not even be in her own body anymore. Where the fuck were Daph and Anne to share the secretive drink with? This was all wrong in so many ways it hurt. Yet she moved through the laughter and the clicking of shoes and wouldn’t stop until she could hear the wind outside. Not knowing if she rammed into anybody inside as she stepped foot outside, Bella finally came back to her senses when the moonlight took her away. Following Bailey around the corner around the mansion, Bella had to whisper to herself, “Wow, that’s beautiful.”
Now taking her awkward place next to Bailey, Bella immediately looked down at the flask when she took in the strong smell. Her first drink since she came back and it had to be bourbon. Oh well, it was better then probably anything they had in the mansion. As little memories flooded her thoughts, Bella didn’t even hear as Bailey told her the obvious and took a drink. Smiling now as Bailey handed her the flask, Bella put it close enough for her to smell and taste the drink without a drop touching her tongue. Shit happens all the time, what difference does it make now? ”Here goes nothing,” were her last words before taking a decent sized gulp of the alcohol.
Coughing up a little of it, Bella could barely breathe as she held back the tears in her eyes and started laughing while in a coughing fit, ”I either forgot how fucking strong that was or I became a light weight after I left. Either way I know that was strong.” Blinking away the oncoming tears, Bella passed the flask back to Bailey and shook her head a bit, ”I’m slightly glad now that you didn’t bring the vodka. It’s just a shame Daph and Anne aren’t here.” Bella was positive that Bailey and her’s sudden friendliness was for one night and one night only.

lyon.honey & the moon ___________________
Oscar knew they both enjoyed each other's company. Hey, the nights when Oscar would go over to her house to do homework, to kiss, to watch The Valley, [as much as Oscar saw the show unrealistic], he somewhere deep down felt there was this brick wall slowly coming between them. Sure, it would go down when they were together...alone in her room with the door lock. But when they were at school, it was like a whole other story. Was their relationship suppose to be this secretive thing? If so... that wasn't how he invisioned them getting together and how they would be. He was a senior, she was a junior and he had been chasing subtly after her since James introduced them. But...now that Oscar really thought about it, it seemed to be getting more clearer. She was pretty, rich, and had a reputation. Oscar was...well you could say he is rich. But hsi social standing? He was right down at the bottom. Hey, the chess club made fun of Oscar and his friends. What would happen once the kid at the bottom of the social ladder started dating the girl from the highest? Yeah...
"Seriously Lyon? You are so out of the loop. And weren't you the one that told me back in September that you did attend these things?"
Did he say that? Oscar scratched his head at this as he tried to remember September. Man, did that seem like it happened a long time ago. "I did?" he asked. "Oh, Anne. You weren't use to my sarcastic comments back then...Because I strive to get drunk every weekend with my friends, every weekend at parties thrown by people I probably don't know but will pretend is my best friend." He strummed a beat on his pants before adding to Anne, "That was my sarcasm by the way." He smirked with a grin he hardly ever used. yeah, Oscar had his moments.
The night seemed to go from 'ok' to 'what?' within the first couple hours. It was all ok at first. They danced, they ate, they talked over the music. But there was that damn brick wall slowly coming up. It only got worse when someone asked who Anne had brought and she said a Mr. Princeton. Princeton as in the guy she was suppose to be going to homecoming with before he ditched her and Oscar ended up going with her. At first, Oscar had just thought she was joking and would say his name but when the person left did he really start to think. It happened again and Oscar tried to say he was Oscar Lyon not some guy from Princeton home for the holidays. But, Anne kept jabbing him with her foot. Finally when the next person left did Oscar turn and looked at. "Anne, what are you doing? Have you lost your memory and forgot that I'm not 'Mr. Princeton?'" He folded his hand across his chest, frowning behind his mask. "Or, maybe you wish I was?"
"If you won't tell anyone we're dating, I will." And that was about the only time he felt superior to his girlfriend. Anne had that personality that said 'i'm in charge, and that is that.' Eveyone else around her had to follow without complaints. Oscar turned around and spotted a table that was only a few feet behind the both of them. Oh, what the comic nerd was about to do... he better get something out of this. He picked up a flute with probably champagne in it and a fork. Boy, did he have a plan. After a few attempts of getting on top of the table, he got up after kneeling on all fours of the table and standing up. He definitely had a view up here. A sea of teenagers dancing and talking. Some turned to look at the crazy standing on the table. He even expected to see someone coming to get him down. He raised the flute and clinked it a couple times with his fork. "Hey, people, can I have your attention?" The ones within ear shot turned, stopped what they were doing, and stared up at him. 'Ok...bad idea' Oscar thought. He cleared his throat and took off his mask, "My name is Oscar Lyon-"
"Hey, look. It's that comic nerd!" Oscar nodded at however said it. it was probably some cheap water polo player that liked to remind Oscar how much lockers liked his face when they would push him into it. "Uh, yess, comic nerd I am. But, what you don't know is that I am dating someone." He looked at Anne now, focusing all his attention on her. "This someone likes to hide that we are dating because she has this fear of what people will think. But, I don't want to be this big secret anymore." He heard a few people murmur 'who is it' and they all seemed to be staring at him. Oscar had never seen so many people staring at him at one time than at this very moment. He stepped back a little on the table and outstretched his hand towards Anne. "Anne Lévesque. You either accept us being together now, or you'll lose me forever."

Post by Paolo Giovanni on Jan 2, 2008 0:30:13 GMT -6
paolo this city is the blueprint of hell ____________
Ah, what type of boy would offer to make grilled cheese? The Paolo Giovanni-type but of course. His gestures were, in general, subtle but, he had a way of making it sound so romantic, thoughtful, and caring all rolled up into one. How many times could Paolo tell you he wasn't like some of the guys that would make some lame comment about how they could do something fun that would require no clothes. That's beating around the bush of 'let's have sex'. Paolo sometimes couldn't believe that girls just hung all over that. But hey, whatever floats their boat. As much as Paolo would like to rid the world of the horndogs, as long as you had the romantics you had to have the sleazy guys, right? "Ah no, I'm fine too. We can find something else to do. Dancing, talking, or I could just repeat over and over how lucky I have been to meet someone as charasmatic and beautiful as you are." He put his hands out and tipped them out like a scale. "Which one will it be?"
Paolo grinned no- smiled, showing just about every one of his pearly whites. From his stern, watchful gaze of every corner of the garden to now, it was as if he had a big mood swing. Maybe it was a little of getting inside that he felt safer with more people around but his dad had always told him and his siblings that being inside with the doors locked doesn't always mean you are safe. Quite the opposite actually in his father's frame of mind. Where there was a lock; there was a key. The people his father made enemies with or even befriended knew things that not even Paolo could dream up in his head. Big man Giovanni didn't want his kids to live in fear, but he wanted to show them what could happen if they were not careful. They were born into a very dangerous life. Paolo had never been bothered really by that. His family being in the organized crime business; the mafia. It did take a toll on his family life at times. His father lived in Los Angeles while he moved the rest of his family to Valkyrie. Sometimes it was harder for him having his dad like in L.A while he was back here. He only saw his dad about three times a month.
"I mean- Sure. No problem. Don't worry about it."
He was right about this girl. He had stumbled into the right one this time. "Thanks, Sam. I knew I could rely on you for something like this." Still outside, he leaned in and gave her a kiss on her lips. Not too long, but not a quick one. He had to make up somehow for the cut-short one by a guy whose ass would most likely be finished off by the start of the new year. "You're right. Let's have a good time. Promise me, we'll have fun for the rest of the year?" Now he grinned with a little laugh. Joking that their 'rest fo the year' would all be over in an hour or so. Out of all the girls in this place, some he had probably already dated, he would want to ring it in with Sam and no one else.
[bleh, short and disgusting. but i'm assuming this plot is winding down since the guy already saw their faces when they were off in the garden. but we could always have the countdown & midnight kiss or whatever. we can talk in the cbox.]
