Appearance:
When you normally think of a tomboy, you may think they are a little plain jane-ish with flat hair and wearing clothes that hang on their body like curtains on a wall. Bevin, on the other hand, isn’t like that today. She was a little like that up until highschool though. As of now, she has soft blonde hair and piercing blue eyes, but all through elementary and junior high she was a girl that was oddly proportioned and seemed to be stuck in puberty for years. The girls in her grade were horrible to her. They picked on her, made fun of her, and found ways to publicly humiliate her. Though it did bother her at times, she was close to too many boy friends and they said not to worry. Sometimes though did she think that because she wasn’t a catch; guys would only settle to be her friend which at the time, was fine with her.
Bevin has always been naturally skinny. She is always outdoors staying active so her skin most of the time has a natural tan. She is also very athletic, which shows a lot when she wears her shorts, bikinis, tank-tops, anything that shows some skin. She has toned legs and stomach, and nice arms. Now, she isn't scary muscular, but she doesn't look like a whimp. She's proud to show off her body... in the none slutty way.
In junior high she looked really awkward. The girls called her 'the ugly duckling.' She had braces on top and bottom, her hair was always in a high pony tail. She (half the time) looked washed out and her voice has a twang of squeakiness that didn't suit her Irish accent. Her clothing style wasn't very fashion-forward or fitting on her form because she never took too much pride in what she looked like. But, the summer before freshman year, you could say she became a beautiful swan. She lost the braces, let her hair down more, adopted a 'surfer girl' look from her love for the ocean, she filled in all her awkardness in her body parts, and her voice became very melodious with her accent. Surprisingly though, Bevin didn't think much had changed, if any at all. In the inside, she was still the same old Bevin that was constantly being made fun of by the girls in her grade and roughed it up with her cousins and her all her male friends.
Bevin is really natural. She never spends hours in the mall finding the perfect shoes or buy that eyeshadow you had been eyeing for weeks. Bevin really doesn't wear any make-up at all. Of course there are those rare times that she has to dress-up for a special occasion, but the day-to-day thing she isn't as girly as the girl sitting next to her. Bevin perfers chapstick over lipgloss. When it comes to clothes, she never wears tight shirts and dresses outside of the school uniform. She wears a lot of vintage shirts that were inspired from the sixties. She wears torn shorts and bikini tops around the beach and jeans and tank-tops to the grocery store. She doesn't spend too much time in the shower, and spends less tiem getting ready. Now, she doesn't look like a grub but she can pull off the clothes she wears even if she doesn't show that she does with her personality.
Personality:
DAMN THAT GIRL GOT SPUNK
Free-Spirited. Tomboy. Athletic. Outgoing. Clumsy. Competitive.
Free-Spirited- Bevin does not let the little things bother her. She likes more things that she hates things. Basically, she has a postivite outlook on life where she does believe in living life to the fullest. She is such a bubbly person she's always rounding people up to do things. She likes getting people involved in things to make everyone happy. You see in the movies where there's a person on the beach, their arms outsretched and the wind in their face. Bevin could easily be seen as that type of person. She screams at the ocean to relieve stress and she constantly has to be moving or else she feels like life is moving too fast for her to keep up with.
Tomyboy- She grew up with boys. Flat and simple. When you had three teenage cousins babysitting you at times, they dare you to do things, and of course you want to impress them that you aren't in fact a 'wuss'. If you pass a certain amount of these little 'challanges' then you are 'cool' and the next step up is rough housing it, playing tackle football in the mud and they don't even care how hard they tackle you. When Bevin moved to Valkyrie, this was her. Her cousins took her under their wing, and brought her up as if she was another little brother. When Bevin moved to Valkyrie did she really begin to act with all the boys. If you're thinking this beauty is a polite young lady, you are very wrong. When she's around her mother, Cathleen will coorect her, but when she's around her friends she joins in with burp contests, uses the back of her hand as a napkin, and slouches in her chair.
Athletic- Sports have always been around her life since she was growing up in Ireland. Her father loved soccer and taught her when she was able to walk. From there, her love for outdoor physical activity grew and she was playing all the games with neighbor kids and through club teams. When she was in sixth grade and moved to Valkyrie, her cousin, Regan, took her to the beach one day and started teaching her to surf. She wasn't amazing at first, but it grew on her and soon she was spending all her time on the beach and learning how to surf. Even now, she loves surfing more than anything, but still goes out for other sports through VA every season. She likes staying active, remember, so she likes it when she is constantly doing something.
Outgoing- Being the first to raise her hand in class is something that she does. She can be extremely confident, even if she is wrong, she'll try and prove herself right. Bevin is the party-starter in her group of friends, the spark plug if you will. She isn't quiet and usually mean words can't bring her down as easy. Bevin talks, and talks, and talks. You could wonder if she can ever run out of things to say. Some think she just talks to hear herself, but it's not like that. She just has a lot of things on her mind a lot and she just says what she thinks. So yeah, when you talk to her, be prepared for some odd conversations such as 'so today at lunch I ate a sub and then you won't believe what happened..."
Clumsy- Unfortunately, as 'out there' she can be, Bevin can be quite the clumsy one. In the halls at school, she can look a little flustered carrying her books, notebooks, and pens or paper. Since she use to be such an awkward girl, it kind of carried out into her midteens like she is now. One thing she is not clumsy though is on a surfboard. Funny she can only find her balance when there's water beneath her. One of her fears use to be falling at school in the middle of the hall, but after that happened a few times, she just laughs it off and blames her clumsiness and moves on with the rest of her day. She is far to bubbly to let that bring her down. She often may mess things up at school in certain classes going 'oops' or 'that wasn't suppose to happen.' Even if she really loves science, she was never good at chemistry and had her lab partner help her mix the chemicals together after a few... accidents she had on her behalf.
Competitive- Walking home from school or walking along the beach. If you're about to go somewhere Bevin could jsut blurt out and say 'I'll race you' and take off before you can even process what she said. Gym games or with her friends at the beach games, she's in it to win. Of course, it's not hardcore 'I am going to win.' She is more on the friendly side but can sometimes rub it in your face that she won, especially around all her guy friends. Her playfulness and competitive strive with the boys can sometimes be mistaken as flirting and other girls can take note on that or even point it out to Bevin but she doesn't think she i. Given, she has had a very small experience with boys so of course she wouldn't realize it.

History:
Cathleen and Brady grew up together. The O'Gradys and the Turners were family friends for years and years. Brady, the younger brother to Seamus, [as we all know is the father of three other Turner boys] Brady was always more...likeable. He wasn't short in his temper and he was a likeable guy through out highschool with a love for soccer and business. Cathleen was a firery young woman who was outgoing and very opinioniated. At get-togethers, the adults would say how cute Cathleen and Brady would be together and how many darling children they would have. This started when they were teenagers and lasted all the way up until they started college together. They were already extremely close friends and with the constant nagging by their family members, Brady asked her out on a date. They clicked on a romantic level instantly. After they really started dating, they became inseperable. They were always seen holding hands and their friends were jealous of the way they both looked at each other.
When Seamus had his first son, Riley, it inspired the young couple to have kids of their own. But, they really weren't ready to get married or even ready to become parents. But, when Riley was five and their second child, Reed, was 3, and she was pregnant with another, did Cathleen fall pregnant. It was unplanned and unexpected, but did the young couple love adventure and they liked the unexpected because anything too planned was boring for them. They gave birth to a baby girl eight months later, a baby girl that was one month earlier than expected and they named her Bevin Talulla after no one. Bevin was born a love child, or out of wedlock. Cathleen really didn't want to 'get married.' But just because she didn't want to het married didn't mean she didn't want to have her one true love, and that was Brady. Brady accepted her choice not to wed, but rather they pledged their love for each other. Even to this day, they remain not married but they still love each other like a married couple would. It's funny since, Cathleen and Brady ended up living fown the street from Seamus and Rachel. So, did she have contact with her cousins, Riley, Reed, and Regan all her life.
From the time she could walk she was being an active little girl always over at her cousins' house. She grew up closest to Regan, because they were both the same age, so it was often Regan and Bevin against Riley and Reed. Yeah, it really wasn't fair, but since Regan and Bevin were the youngest, they were picked on the most and did what ever the older kids would say to do. The worst day of her life was when she was eight and The other Turners' announced that they were moving to America because Seamus' law firm was relocated to the states. Bevin was devestated to see her cousins and best friends leaving and it was hard on her for months. Since Bevin always hung out with them, she still hung out with all their friends; all being boys. At school, this was when the teasing first started.
She tried not letting it bother her, but she was a young girl and everyone in grades school wanted to be friends and well-liked with by the other kids. But, the girls just made fun of her baggy clothes, rouch exterior, and awkward posture. She focused all her time of outdoor activites like soccer and other fun activities that were down outside. She did gain a lot of friends this way, and in the process did make a few good female friends that really couldn't care less that she would rather rough house it with the boys than play hopscotch or jump rope out side at recess. What Bevin didn't know in this time was that her parents were trying to find a way to go to the states, because after hearing how 'eye-opening' it was and wonderful from Seamus did Cathleen and Brady think it would be a good idea to move there too.
But now, it was this whole thing of what could they move there for? Brady was managing a retail store and Cathleen was an interior designer for a company. The two took Bevin to Cathleen's grandparents for the weekend as Brady and Cathleen traveled to Valkyrie for the weekend to try and find a job. Bevin was estatic, she couldn't wait to go the United States and see her cousins again. She hadn't seen them in over a year [since they visited in the summer] and she wondered what their school was like, what America was like, everything. When her parents came back, she asked if they were truly going to California. Brady said they were and they bought a little hotel along side the beach [in the shaks] and it needed a little renovation but it was a challange and thats what they wanted.
The hotel looked like this. As you can see, it definitely isn't a expensive looking hotel like The Days-Away-Hotel is, but this little hotel/motel is used a lot by the out-of-towners and even for soe people living in Valkyrie. It is in an ideal spot, along the beach so you can go in the ocean quite easily. When Bevin said goodbye to all her friends and got on the plane to California, she was excited. It was in the summer before sixth grade that she moved here and she spent the whole summer helping to renovate the hotel with her parents. She hung out with her cousins whenever she could and this was the summer Regan taught her how to surf, were she wasn't seen anywhere else but the beach, and she became friends with all her
cousins friends.
The teasing still didn't change even if she changed schools. But she had her cousins, and her cousins friends to defend her. When highschool rolled around, the teasing was toned down a few notches, because she was finally fitting into her body and was becoming more athletic, bubbly, and was having fun all the time. Even now, at sixteen and a junior at Valkyrie, she still is the same as she was when she was eight and when she was twelve. She works and lives at the hotel and her spunk gets her through day in and day out.
Living Situation: the hotel.
