EVENT 17 - LAS VEGAS, BABY!

oh, you know. for all the veterans, this has been an event we had back in april of '07 and was my personal favorite by far. so much fun. anyways, the staff have come up with big plans to get everyone involved in site-plots again because we have seen the lack of it as of late. not saying it's all you because, haha, we're at fault here too. but it's spring, i love spring, and some refreshing of the muse is a great thing as the snow is melting for those of us not in australia atm =D so to clear up specifics before i go in-depth with the actual plot, i will say april our time marks the official month of november 2007 for the kids of valkyrie. we decided that having a set month would work better in planning different threads time-wise. ok on to fun

you know the tradition by now, right? november 17, 1820 was when the glorious city of valkyrie was founded. however this tradition of going down to las vegas didn't start until 1990 when the high schoolers lied to their parents about one thing and car pooled it down to las vegas for a four-day weekend, so close to the thanksgiving holiday. in 2006, the lovely valkyrie kids partied hard. it was only four days, but it single-handily marks the best four days of the year. this year the dates are november 15 - 18, aka thursday - sunday, where the kids leave early thursday morning and don't get back until late sunday night.

this year however, is different. though the students generally took a bus down, this year, it's find your own ride. carpool, hitch hike, whatever. get down however you can with whoever you can. also this year, we have to have some crashers. it's been an academy tradition, but that doesn't stop the college kids from piggy-backing off of the students' fun. valkyrie always stays at the same hotel year after year: treasure island hotel and casino. never fails. everyone that goes always book rooms that are all on the same floor because it's easier that way that all their friends are on the same floor because this hotel is big.

plots are what make this event epic, so the crazier, the better, yay! we're going to have multiple plot parties from now until the event starts. cbox and in this thread are your best bet at finding someone to plot with. maybe, below post which characters are going (because vegas isn't for everyone) and that could start some epic plotting once people find out who you are bringing. valkyrie will still be spinning round while people are in vegas because no everyone goes on this trip.

so when's this all starting? ah, well, april 2nd. we're going down in maintenance mode to switch skins and take care of the glitches of it before we open back up and start it. the skin this time is themed for the vegas plot and we'll have a separate category labeled 'las vegas' and you can post threads in there and everything. so, late april 2nd/early april 3rd is when we are starting the event. i hope i'm not forgetting anything besides the fact that this event is totally fun and everyone should at least bring one of their characters because you don't want to miss out on this. later this week, i'll hopefully post some attractions around vegas and in treasure island like i did the last time to jog up some good plotting locations for characters.

Well, I only have three characters.. so all three are going. Anne and Coco of course with the bus, and Jason will be going to just cause trouble. Anyone want to road trip up with Jason and make that a side-thread versus the bus? They can taunt the bus drivers, smoke, drink, have a little ball. Jason's passenger seat is open to anyone brave enough.

maeghan harris. vegas=drama so of course she'll be there to stir up trouble.

alex suresh. she's a maybe depending on what's happening plot-wise...
