OVERALL PERSONALITY:

Pride.
When you initially meet Maddox you are instantly confronted by his confidence. Well, most confidence is good of course but the one that radiates from his is this - arrogant confidence which always leaves acquaitances bitter mouthed. He comes across first, as a bit of a bastard really. There's not way of sugar coating that. And to some extent he is. Sure, he's confident and he's a bit selfish and vain, but he's not a prick - sexist, racist, homophobic etc. Still, he walks around like he is the king of the fucking world and he is sure to fall flat on his face one of these days. If you eve fuck him over, he might not give you a chance to ask for forgiveness. He is extremely stubborn and proud.

Wrath.
Maddox is easily annoyed and his annoyance is quick to turn into anger which later turns into violence. He's no fight virgin that's for sure and has been in one too many brawls. His annoyed phase usually consists of a very sulky side of him, during which he just sits and complains. If that annoyance festers into anger then he'll start shouting and storming around and well, you don't really need a description for violence. That's just full on guns out phase.

Lust.
The guy is seventeen, so of course he likes girls and wants to get in their pants. He doesnt cheat his way in them, but uses his charm to his advantage. He has problems committing to anything and that also applies to girls. Then again, he has never fallen for someone so he has never had the chance to test that theory. He is not someone who sleeps around because he is can be pretty picky

Envy.
Maddox is jealous of a lot of things, and that jealousy often makes him act stupid. you cna say he is protective of the people he loves and of the things he owns and is not one to share them. If he likes someone, then he does fel that pitch in his stomach when he sees her with someone else. He is not one of those violent jealous guys, but he does get fired up from time to time

Sloth.
The guy is just lazy. He wakes up as late as he can when he doesnt have school, he makes people do his homework for him and not because he is not smart enough to make it himself, he just doesnt want to. He is just extremely apathetic about a lot of things, specially things that dont keep his interest. But then again, he has adhd and so he needs to keep his mind occupied and he has to be constantly entertained. But his forms of entertainment are ussualy frowned upon

Greed.
Yeah, he's a greedy bastard. He used to be spoiled silly, having everything he wanted and now he is supposed to be content in living in a shithole in the shacks? No, he aint happy about it but there is nothing he can do. Still, he steals anything he can get his hands on. Wallets, purses, watches, phones. He walks into department stores and takes clothes and shoes. He needs to keep a certain level of appearance, right?

Gluttony.
He likes to do things in excess. If he eats, he has a big ass meal. If he drinks, he will get shit faced. If he smokes pot, he will get fucked. Its a good thing he hates hard drugs of he would have a lot of problems.

Truth.
Even though he is a liar and a cheater most of the time, when it comes to things that matter, you will always count on him for the truth. He knows how to draw the line and if someone might get hurt by a certain lie, he would stand up and defend the truth no matter what the cost. Yes, he is a walking contradiction.

Love.
Maddox has a lot of love to give. You might not realize it because he is constantly putting people down and making them cry, but he has a good heart. It just takes a while for someone to jump that big wall he has around him, but its not impossible. To his friends, Maddox will always have a helping hand, and will always make sure they are taken care of

Courage.
Maddox is really not afraid of much. If he runs from something is not because of fear, but because he actually thinks about the consequences from time to time. Sure, he may be impulsive, but when important thins are concerned he does give his actions a second thought. When he wants something, he gets it no matter and he never quits or looks back. But everyone has fears, right? Fear of not being accepted, fear of dying alone, fear of getting locked up. But still he doesnt sit around in a corner to bitch about it

Wisdom.
Maddox has a lot going on for him. People dont see him as anything more than just a punk kid with problems, but he is extremely smart and has the ability to suck knowledge like a sponge. Its a quality he and his brother share. Unlike Syrus, his intelligence hasnt turned into insanity. Often times, he can pull some great advice out of his ass and leave you speachless

Creativity.
He loves music, theater, photography, movies. Anything that has to do with art. He writes poetry and lyrics and he loves playing the guitar. Not a lot of people know about this, and he doesnt make it a habit to talk about it. He likes to draw and he paints on his spare time. He has turned his room into a nice studio where he keeps all his shit and he sleeps in the living room. Oh, and he has a veryy nice voice too.

Tolerance.
Ok, so he is a bully, thats true. But he will never call someone a fag, or use the n word or make fun of someone elses religion. He makes fun of freaks and shit because its fun and easy, and it has nothing to do with their beliefs. He has respect for people who stand up for what they believe in

Freedom.

LIVING SITUATION: shaks
HISTORY:

• His father recklessly fell in love with an irish prostitute and got her knocked up. The two never got married. Nathaniel had a family back in New York
  
• Syrus was born and Nathaniel decided to give the kid his last name and save him the suffering and embarrassment of being a bastard child
  
• Two years later, their second son was born, who they named Connor. The family lived in a nice house back in New York, they had money but it all came from Nate's criminal activities
  
• Maddox Asher, was born on a rainy night of January. There were complications during his birth where Jessica almost lost her life. She survived, but she was unable to get pregnant after that. Nate was relieved
  
• Reckless since the cradle, Maddox had the natural ability to get himself in trouble. He was far too much for his parents to handle, but they tried their best to put up with him.
  
• Therapy, that didn't help for shit. Maddox's parents thought that therapy would help him overcome whatever bullshit disease he had. Doctors could not find anything wrong with him, since he was able to manipulate and cheat his way through it to the extend of convincing the psychiatrist that his parents were the ones responsible for his behavior
  
• He started attending school in New York, but even though he was smarter than most, he lacked enthusiasm and was pretty apathetic about his classes. Still, he always managed to pass the grade
  
• Maddox started to show signs of pyromania fourteen. He would carry with him a trusty set of matches wherever he went to lit shit up. He enjoyed the smell of burned rubber, to watch something fall apart and be consumed by flames. It was satisfying to know that anything could be so easily destroyed by something so trivial
  
• The first time he and Syrus met, when he came looking for his father. It didnt go well. Actually it was pretty tragic and it ended up with Nathaniel pulling a gun on Syrus and demanding that he never came back
  
• By the age of fifteen he was already drinking. His whole family were heavy drinkers, so Maddox was not really an exception
  
• When he was sixteen, he tried his first drug. It was cocaine, and it hit him like a punch to the stomach. He hated it and never did that shit again
  
• Spent a few nights in juvie for vandalism, but always managed to post bail.
  
• His mother got very ill and died of ovarian cancer close to Maddox's nineteenth birthday. Nathaniel was devastated and killed himself days after
  
• Maddox and Connor moved in with his uncle who lived in Jersey. He hated the kids
  
• Connor was shot and fell into a coma. When he woke up a week later, he had severe brain trauma. He became a danger to himself and to the people around him,so he was locked up in a mental institution in Jersey
  
• Maddox tried to visit his brother a few times, only to discover that he had no idea who Maddox was. The last time he saw his brother was two years ago
  
• He spent a few nights in juvie again for assault and was later kicked out of his house by his uncle
  
• With no family left and nowhere else to go, he located Syrus and found him in Valkyrie, California
  
• Moved here a few months ago, and now he is attending Valyrie Academy
