PERSONAL STYLE: nora dresses very causally. She’s more of a jeans and t-shirt kind of gal, but she does like wearing cute things too, like the latest trends. Before her parents died, she was slightly in the public’s eye for various pr events in which she would wear nice clothes, like politician daughters would. As of late, she’s been wearing long-sleeved shirts to cover up her scars from when she tried to kill herself. Naturally, it is quite warm in california, so that doesn’t always work out, so she also wears watches and bracelets to cover up the scars. Yes, she is ashamed of them and she also didn’t like people staring at them.

BEST MEMORY: her best memory was when her parents took her and her sister, joanna, to europe for a summer vacation the summer before they died. She had never been to europe before and really enjoyed all the sight-seeing and the way people interacted. She remembers everyday they did something new and had a really good time as a family.
WORST MEMORY: her worst memory is obviously, when she tried to kill herself. Though she wanted to die, the next year when she was institutionalized, she had to relive the moments leading up to cutting her wrists over and over and over again through group and individual therapy. It was kind of mortifying for her to be so exposed to everyone in the hospital she was admitted to.
OVERALL PERSONALITY: sweet, compassionate, and caring are three words you would think of when you first meet nora. she’s a very sweet girl and well-mannered. Even if she was born into wealth, she actually has a very good head on her shoulders. She appreciates the life her parents gave her and bringing her up to respect people. Nora is big into volunteering. She spent a lot of her days with her sister going down to elementary schools and reading to some of the after school kids and playing games with them. You’d think that she would be like that because her father was the mayor and was looking to advanced and needed his family to be ‘perfect,’ but once you meet nora you see that she actually very real about everything she does, and she isn’t faking anything, which some people mistake her for being (fake) until they get to know her.
Nora also gives off the rather innocent personality. With her blonde hair, pale skin, and light eyes, she’s a textbook description of a innocent girl. However, she definitely has a spark in her. She’s a great debater and very opinionated. She likes things to be organized thanks to everything being in order in her father’s eyes. But don’t get this image of a very goody good in your mind, because she’s not like that either. Yes, she cares about her grades and does a lot for her community, but she’s a valkyrie native growing up with the generation’s finest young people. She was popular for awhile there. Not really snotty, but she did feel intimidated by other smart girls in her class. She’d go to the parties, flirt with the boys, have a good time. Basically, what it all comes down to is that you saw a lot of her ‘good’ side more than half the time, but she definitely had her wild side that leaked out when she was with her friends.

LIVING SITUATION: harper mansion in the valks
HISTORY: bradley campbell had lived in valkyrie all his life. His grandparents moved to this quaint city in california from poland. They settled here and have stayed here since raising their generations. Bradley had always been that all-around good guy. Good at sports, good with the ladies, but he was always thinking of his future. He wanted to become the president of the united states. Very ambitious from the start, so he never drank at high school parties, always respected everyone. He wanted to be known as ‘the nice guy.’ Bradley was smart too, once he graduated, he went to Princeton University. This was where he met his future wife, Millicent Hart. She came from old money, and her uncle was in politics. He was a senator in the state of West Virgina, where Millie spent most of her life. They started dating and not only did Millie fall head over heels for Millie, she fell in love with his dreams, aspirations, and his good soul. They both graduated and moved back to bradley’s hometown of valkyrie. They waited a few years, didn’t want to rush into anything, but eventually, the two did get married. A couple years after the marriage, they had joanna bell, a daughter, and everyone was thrilled. A couple years later, they had nora quinn.
Nora grew up in a nice house and with a family that always tried to make time for ‘family time.’ She got into the piano at a young age of eight, and when her parents discovered that nora had a pretty good voice, they put her into voice lessons. She also grew up very close to her sister, joanna, who was close to her in age. Bradley was active in the community and was on city council but he was vying for mayor when valkyrie’s current mayor was going to retire. So, he started his campaign for running for mayor. When nora was ten, her father won the election for mayor and everyone was good. Not that being a mayor was as important as say, the president of the united states, but he believed you needed to pay your dues. He was going to hope to try for governor eventually, but he wanted to establish himself in politics before he started advancing. One thing about being the mayor is that you don’t have set years you can be it. Basically, until you retire, you are the mayor. Bradley was a great mayor. He did a lot to the valkyrie community and he also created some good buzz for himself. bradley and millie were excellent parents to their girls. and joanna and nora definitely looked up to them.
nora grew up in the same circle all her life. her family was wealthy, but nora was taught to be humble. she didn't go throwing her money around and shoving it in people's faces. but the friends she made in middle school carried on into high school. including the lifestyle of parties and drinking. nora was never a hardcore drinker. she wasn't even a hardcore partier. she had to hide it anyways from her parents because she would never be able to forgive herself if she ruined her father's reputation. with her music, her friends, and taking tiem to volunteer at various organizations around valkyrie, she was a very content young girl. all until the summer after she finished her sophomore year in high school. everything changed one hot june night. it was suppose to be a pretty important dinner. bradley was going to announce his plan in running for a place in the house of representatives. however, that night, nora wasn't feeling really well. she was light-headed and felt like she was going to throw up. though bradley and millie were looking forward to having the entire family there, they told nora to stay home and rest up because the next day they would start traveling around california for some speeches. saying goodbye to her parents and sister, nora went back into her room and tried sleeping the sick feeling off.
she was awoken around 2 am by the housekeeper. something terrible had happened to her family on the way home from the dinner and nora was needed to go to the hospital. police escorted the housekeeper and nora down to the hospital and by the time they got there, the doctors had to inform nora that both of her parents were dead, and her sister was in a coma. the way they explained it was that a semi-truck driver had been drinking and lost control of the truck. right as the campbells were driving. the truck hit the campbells' car. it flipped several times because crashing into a tree in a ditch. her parents died in the er. nora couldn't believe that just like that, her parents were dead and joanna was basically dead. nora took it hard. she refused to talk to anyone besides the doctors and nurses and she confided herself in joanna's room all day, waiting for her to wake up. the doctor's told her that there was a chance that joanna might never wake up which sent nora over the edge. she had no one looking out for her anymore. her grandparents were living in valkyrie, but it wasn't the same. nora was quickly losing it and thoughts of the fact that technically, she shouldn't be alive invaded her thoughts all day long. one the third day of staying in her sister's room, nora went into the bathroom. she broke the mirror hanging above the sink. take a shard, she cut deep into both of her wrists. she wanted to die. what was the point of living when you didn't have your family?
one of the nurses came in to check on joanna as well as nora. she was concerned when she walked in and didn't find nora anywhere. nora had never been more than five feet away from her sister at any given time. the nurse knocked on the bathroom door and when she twisted it open she was horrified by what she saw. nora was laying on the floor, unconscious with blood coming out of both her wrists. if she wasn't already at a hospital, she probably wouldn't have been saved. they did save her, and she was put under suicide watch as a doctor tried and assess her. he found out that even though she already tried killing herself, if she wasn't being constantly watched, she would do it again. she still had thoughts and then, her grandparents stepped in. they wanted their granddaughter to get help, so with the help of some doctors, they found a hospital nora was going to be admitted to that specialized in teenage behavior problems, substance abuse, and psychological problems. nora was embarrassed more than anything. she was being shipped off to some teenage insane asylum in oregon. she hadn't talked to any of her friends since before the accident happened, so with the help of her grandparents, she left quickly.
she stayed at the hospital for a year where she attended group therapy, spent time with other doctors, and kept up with her studies. though nora was typically a very private person, it took her awhile to open up to doctors and other people her age. but she really needed the help with her suicide attempt, losing her parents and sister, and wondering why she was spared. after a year, her doctors believed she was good to return to school. though they might think that, she didn't think so, but she packed her bags and left. coming back to valkyrie was hard because she knows there has been some rumors. but now she is living with her cousin, audrey harper, and is visiting her sister (who is still in a coma) everyday after school.
