Staring down the boulevard
Crescent heights the city lights the way
To another wasted day
Shiny cars and shooting stars
California dreaming in my ear
I'm dealing with scars
Just trying to see who we are
Nobody said it would be easy
Fighting your way through another day
I think I know how you feel
Looking for something that matters
Keeping it together when it's all been shattered
We all want something real
Pills to chase the blues away
Who knows just how far this story goes
So listen to the radio
Turn it up so you can sing along
Even though the notes are wrong
I'm building up walls
And trying to break all the falls
All your life you're wondering
We don't know what's happening
Somethings gotta give
Falling through the atmosphere
See the world in black and white
These pictures coming clear
How many times I wished that you were here

The Orange County, California is one of the most desired destinations in the country, nevermind the world. Attracting millions of tourists every year, it's home to sand, sea, surf and scandal. Underneath the bright lights, alongside the glitz and glamour there lies a darker side to Newport where chaos and drama reign. The real OC is like nowhere else and anyone arriving there is sure in for a bumpy ride as they navigate the Newport ranks.
Nobody knows this better than the Cohen family. They resided in one of the finest mansions in the country for sixteen years, the mother Kirsten having even grown up there herself amongst the fortune and fiasco. Son Seth was an outsider of the social cliques, until when he was fifteen years old, his lawyer father brought home young Ryan Atwood. Ryan came from a rough, poor, alcoholic background and released from juvy with the help of Mr. Cohen, he was soon adopted in to the good natured, upper class family of his dreams.
Atwood was a troubled teenager to say the least, but every teenager is lost in some way - Seth included. Having been led astray by his brother, abused by his mother's boyfriends and neglected and abandoned by his alcoholic mother, Ryan had been given a second chance. Though it was never easy, he was determined to make a go of this new life. The Cohens proved to be his saving grace, the loving family he'd always craved.
Graduating high school, the boys headed off to college, leaving behind all of the troubled times and starting the next chapters of their lives. The parents moved back to their previous home and raised their young daughter Sophie - the newest addition to the family - after an earthquake destroyed their Newport home.
Seth went on to marry his long time girlfriend Summer Roberts and after he graduated art school, Summer working to save the environment, they settled down and started a family. By the age of 28, they had two young children and sought a new home. He'd always hated Newport, but Seth was actually missing it, much to his surprise.
Ryan however had found leaving the OC difficult from the start, having just gotten his life together when it was time to depart. After graduating college, he got engaged to his girlfriend Taylor Townsend and played Sandy Cohen now, taking in a young boy who reminded him of a younger Ryan. This was the first addition to architect Ryan's new family, three more following shortly after.
Following discussions with Seth, Summer and Taylor and thinking of times past in Newport, the foursome made the decision to uproot their families and make their return.
The year is 2017 and Ryan has had the old Cohen house rebuilt, Seth buying the old former Cooper residence that had been located right next door. They now live next door to each other with their new families. This is the next generation of the OC and it's just as crazy as ever. Welcome back to the OC, bitch. It's going to be one hell of a ride...
