"Blood has been shed on a day of celebration. It has tainted our most blessed land and the hearts of your blood line. We gave you gifts...rewards...for your good deeds, and you turn around and use them against each other. For this, you and the generations from here on shall be punished."
"You may redeem your blood line, though. A chosen one from each family must bring forth an offering on this day at midnight every decade. For every gift you give me, I shall bless your family and grant stability. The first will be granted 10 fold more than those around him. He, who chooses not to abide by these standards, shall parish by your own stubbornness."
“Blood has been shed; a war has begun in the midst of the elements. To each his own element, except for that of wood and earth. The two families have been joined; let all grief be settled between you. Today is a day of rejoice amongst your bond."

Roswell, Georgia, it was during the 1930s when plantation homes begun to be remodeled into business areas in hopes of bringing more attraction to the southern city. Though due to war there were only seven families who could still claim the massive homes as their own and as such used what was their home as the start to rebuilding the entire city.
In the end only six of the seven actually renovated their homes into small businesses for the town while the one remaining continued to share their lands with all though keeping a secret; they were actually ancient priest and priestess who continued the following of their laws. But seeing the generosity of these six families they decided to share their 'gifts' and thus blessed each family a certain element.
The families were gracious and promised to tell no one outside the families of their abilities. They were told to use their gifts as a way of protecting, not only their families but the city they had so graciously given so much for. Agreeing the families kept their promise to the main family and for several years stuck to the terms set before them.
As time passed the businesses of the families grew larger and so did the ideals of the members. Banding together the families decided to tie their businesses as well as families together for even more profit so a great wedding was planned on the birth of the most powerful family's granddaughter, the White Witch. They even arranged for the wedding to take place on the grounds where they had been blessed with their own gifts.
Everything has seemed to be going fine when suddenly a fight broke out between several members of each family. The chaos of the surprise attack resulted in the death of each family and begun the first of many wars ahead among the families themselves.
There was only one mistake, by shedding the blood of loved ones on such sacred grounds the White Witch herself placed a cursed onto each member of the families. She threatened them that the war they had begun on neutral ground would be never ending.
On top of the threat was another more powerful spell, the gifts her family had blessed the six with would forever work against them until eventually consuming them. Though a boon could be brought before the Witch at the end of every ten years on the day of their betrayal as a way of forgiveness that will allow control to the family's curse.
Seventy-seven years have passed since the agreement of the families and still a battle rages among the six. Though lighthearted now that the lines themselves have begun to fade and the elements themselves slowly begin to take control. Under the watch of the White Witch's servants, 'The Damned', the families can only hope that their children can carry on the gifts and someday survive the curse that was brought upon them.
