Have you been in love before?
Perhaps.
Have you found true love?
No.
If you could do you think you’d want to know?

In 1995 Starcrossed, NY was founded on the premise that all the couples that moved there would be promised true love. Some thought it ludicrous, but many newlyweds flocked to the town, to discover if the one they were about to marry really was their true love.
After the gated community had filled up every house, she revealed to them the crystal. Many of the younger couples found the idea that a crystal could tell them what was wrong in their love lives ridiculous, and a couple of them left. But those that stayed were about to uncover their destiny.
Ava West told them that the large crystal in town square would show them who their one and only true love was. The newlyweds were all confident that they would be shown happy and smiling with their current partners.
For some of them this was true, but for others their world was turned upside down. They were shown a different person, one that they hadn’t even gotten to know. After this some of the couples shocked, left, but those that stayed and switched partners found that they had found bliss. The magic crystal ball, or whatever it was, really worked.
Those couples had children, and their children had children. It became that on every child’s seventeenth birthday they would go to town square and be shown who their true love was. Unfortunately, things don’t always go smoothly. People fall in “love” or at least what they think is love before their seventeenth birthday.
On April 5th, the day of the seeing, dreams are crushed and couples are broken apart. Because although in the beginning it was not mandatory that you marry your “true love” new stricter laws have been put in place to keep the teens from rebelling against fate.
Unfortunately, this year there is also another choosing. Ava is old, and close to dying and she needs to pick a replacement. The problem is that this girl, as she will be let into the mysteries of Starcrossed will not be allowed to marry herself, or find her own true love.
Welcome to Starcrossed where the question isn’t will I find my true love, but can I escape them?
Welcome to Starcrossed where the question isn’t will you find your true love, but is it worth it?
