Enter the LEGEND
Long ago Italy was nothing but meager cities and villages. The world was a mere oasis, the land undiscovered, unknown, mysterious. The King of Italy was a young man with dreams of wild monsters, dragons and gaining land all for himself. This wildly ambitious man was Giovanni da Verrazzano. Even as a young boy he sat in is father's lap, listening of stories of new worlds far beyond his own so when his father died and Giovanni took the thrown his only wish was to explore. And so he did.
Years passed by when he finally gathered his army 100 men and 200 horses was his final command. When he felt sufficient enough he marched out of the city with regal pride, much to his counselors dislike. He wished for Giovanni to learn astrology, how to read and write. But there was no time for that. The first few days of the journey was all to splendid. Over hills they climbed, across rivers and fields of wild flowers. The place was grand to him, and soon to be all his. But the farther they wandered, and the more tired they became it was obvious trouble was on the way. Men started to disappear, horses where found dead and no one knew what was going on. They turned around to head back to Italy but they could not find the route they traveled. They had wandered into the world of no return, they where Far Beyond Return.
They had stumbled on a land that breathed and sleeped, awoke and yawned every morning. It was a land of last summer and brutal winters, a land where no human had ever set foot on before for at least a million years. The land had the most rare animals you had ever seen, and for the Italians the wolf was the most rarest of all. Only a few wolves lived in Italy, and those were slowly killed out for their fur. Bounty was placed on them years ago, and so was the rumors. But these wolves where different. They where smarted, more intelligent. And do when the men started to wander in their homes with their hornless deer and dogs, they acted. At this time the pack was grouped into one whole, all living in the area and co-existing under one Alpha. However soon the human intervention tore them apart one by one.
Wolves grouped together in three, all following their own political 'do it all' for the humans. The first was Oltre Pack, the original Alpha and most of the the loyalest group, all veterans and some young males and females. They believed they should just fight them out, kill them all. The second was Terrafall Pack, the most rudest and grouped 'pure bloods' of Far Beyond Return, content on only getting away from the menace. They voted to just hide away from them, never interfere with anything. And then there was Merrastone. these wolves where highly spiritual and followed their religion of sacrifices and gods more then their own leader. They voted to invite them in, let them co-exist. But both Terrafall and Oltre knew what Merrastone wanted with them, sacrifice.
Giovanni had indeed found monsters but in a different form then what he imagined.
So the war raged between themselves rather then against the humans. Oltre fought back bravely, killing many, but dogs invaded their ranks. But they soon allowed them too. Terrafall stayed hidden in their oasis, not doing anything but still and relax as others fought. And Merrastone welcomed humans into their rank, soon using them as alive sacrifices and even food. Soon the humans diminished, and Italy was left without a king or 100 men. All of them where not to Return to the city, so the meadow hidden between forests and mountains once again stayed hidden, for now.
Who will you choose? Oltre the Brave? Terrafall the Clever? Or Merrastone the Spiritual? This is Far Beyond Return....
