Asia, Melissa, and I were just talking in the c-box about altering one of our rules. The 75-post one. Recently, I've been thinking about new characters we are all creating and how much we have been excited to make them but there is it; the 75 rule that has been blocking our muse and as excited as we are to make our new character, by the time we get 75 posts, we seem to lose interest in them. I know we are very active people already and we do great with activity but, I think we should change this rule because even I am finding it sometimes annoying.
The rule won't go away completely so we thought of a new way to maintain the activity while being able to make characters with no block. We could have it were you don't have to have a certain posting limit; but you have to balance out your characters and not make a bunch and end up not using them. Asia made a good point with members that have a few characters that they would stay active with the characters they already have. To keep the character activity balanced; if you are going to make a new character, we'll be looking at your other characters to see if you used them more than just setting up a p&s, and posting ooc. If you have; we'll tell you to get more in character posts before your latest character can be accepted.
I would like feedback on the possible rule modification because I just don't want to change it and other people not liking it.
Thanks, Lainey

personally, I think that sounds like a good idea. -shrug- I've seen it done on other sites, just with the older and more active members - which many of us are. I was talking to another site admin awhile ago, actually, and she had a similar rule in place. some members didn't really have much of a posting limit for a bit - depending on how plot savvy those future charries were. like, for example, a friend of mine on said site had like, three chrries lined up that were heavy in plots. so the admin just let her make them all, pretty much, within a couple of days and then she was without character makingness for awhile. if that made sense. o.O
anyways, I happen to dig the idea. we'd have to go deeper into it, obviously, but yeah. I'm all for it. x]
xoxo. Asia
EDIT I lovelovelove Daph's sig. <333

I personally love the idea because I was extreamly happy when I started making Romaine's application and then I figured out that I had to get Josh's posts up to 75. That does take a long time to do and it is very tedious. Admins will just have more of a job to do with checking posts and making sure that people aren't fudging their numbers by doing ooc and p&s posts. All in all, I am in favor of the rule.

I love the idea of changing the rule Lainey! I understand the purpose of the rule but if you take a look at Valkyrie you know it's pretty active enough. I think that your idea for the rule is splendid and the only other thing I can see doing it just lowering it or make that a part of the rule as well that you might need at least twenty-five in character posts before making a new character. I don't know but I like your idea hun. (:

love the idea. i think you should use melissa's idea and just lower the post count to like, 25 posts. it's not that much to ask for but that way, at least you know that people have roleplayed. i pretty much fine with the post count rule going bye-bye. :]

Thank you for everyone's opinions! Looks like there are a lot of positive feedback on this rule change so it's going to be official. You will no longer need 75 posts to make a new character. But, the staff will be looking at new apps of exsisting members to see if their other characters are still active. As long as you can manage your characters, you can create as many as you want.
BUT WAIT
We have discussed this in the staff room. We have decided to make a another rule. Lately, we have been noticing the post length isn't quite up to par. Sure, it might be three paragraphs like the current rules state but, three itty bity paragraphs are really hard to reply to. So, we have decided to maket he posting requirement is 400 words. How will you know how many words you are at? We now have a word counter right underneath 'post reply', 'preview', etc. Please, lets try to get higher with our posts! If you are lower than the word count, we'll be pming you to remind you to post longer.
Thanks again, Lainey
