a guide to pretty posting

Hey there VA. Tessa your resident Aussie here with a quick run down on how to format your posts so they look amazing and beautiful. Alot of you who have been roleplaying for a while now already know the ins and outs of proboards and how the coding works. For you new V-siders who aren't to familiar with how all those funny buttons and doo-dads work this little run down is to help you find your feet and make your awesome posts look equally awesome.

Yay for Tessa and her brilliance! No? Ok fine I'll just get to it.

I'm going to start with some of the icons and what they mean, most of them are the ones that you will probably end up using alot and for every post you do.

; This one controls the size of your text. The size that most V-siders including myself use is '1'

; This lovely button controls which font you like to use. Example; [/font*] obviously with the *'s loves.

; This button here makes your font appear in italics.

; This one here is one of my faves. I use it in every single post I do. It bolds your writing and is mostly used for when your character is speaking.

; Another one that is often used is the 'center' button. Using this center button will make your text appear like this -

Example, example, example, example
example, example, yeah you get the point.

; The align right and align left buttons do the same thing, but they obviously align the text to the right or the left.

; This code is amazing. You know those lovely little icons put up the top of your posts making it look all pretty, yeah this button is responsible for that miracle. The code with appear like this [IMG*] [/IMG*] (no *'s again of course) and to make your image appear in your post you will need to copy and paste the DIRECT link for the image in between the code so it should look like this

; And lastly the button that is my favorite that I love and would probably die a lonely existence without. The totally amazing blockquote button. Which appears like this [blockquote*] [/blockquote*] when you use it.

It basically does this to your text;

Narrows your text so it looks really awesome like this and woo yeah! Blockquote is amazing and awesome. I guarantee once you start using it you won't stop.

tips and hints;

As the title suggests here are a few tips and hints on the v-siders post. Plus how the world of Valkyrie works.

• Most v-siders use the banner system when posting, take a look around
  
• They also add lyrics to their threads and a time a date of when it is taking place
  
• They use the 'blockquote' method twice
  
• We also adore great detail in our posts
  
• Most members "bold their characters speech when they are talking"
  
• While the posting limit for VA is 400, most members average posts are 600 - 700+
  
• People who match posting length are awesome :]
  
• We love pretty graphics here, especially me. Having a nice signature with lyrics
  in it or a quote that portrays your character is awesome. If you don't have any access
  to graphics or icons for your characters post in the graphics board and one of our awesome
  icon and graphic hunters will find you some, or someone will offer to make you a few graphics.
  
• We LOVE plotting and the c-box is the best way to get introduced and start plotting
  with everyone.
  
• Lastly. We are all super awesome here and we have all been new to forums before but guess what! We
  don't bite so please, please, please if your new here come into the c-box introduce yourself and get plotting
  there is nothing we love then new active members who like to plot.
