A figure staggered backwards, trying to juggle an armful of books, and a coffee that wasn't supposed to be in the library.
The books dropped, but the coffee was safe.
"Damn." The boy whispered, sipping from his cup and setting it on a shelf. He bent forward, dark brown hair falling in his face as he attempted to get all of the books.
Two for each class, plus an additional seven books for his AP English class.
"I should just write a list and have them send the books to my dorm," The boy whispered to himself, "That would be easier."
He sat the books on the shelf, pushing them in with his hip as he lifted his coffee and reached for his cell phone.
He was expecting a call from his father.

A female walked slowly into the library. It was time to get her books for the many classes that she was taking that year. She wasn't too excited because she prefered the classes that required her camera only.
After walking in, and heading towards the front desk, she noticed a male who was having some trouble with a stack of books. She giggled quietly to herself as she walked slowly over to him.
"Need any help?" she asked in a soft voice as she pushed her bangs away from her face.
Kylie stood there, her hands now behind her back, and she began rocking back and froth from her toes to her heels.
"I can help you carry them to your car or room," she said.

Antony quickly slipped his phone in his pocket, having heard someone talking to him.
He turned around, switching his coffee to his left hand, "Hey, that'd be great. If you don't mind, you can take these-" He picked up four novels, handing them to her, "I can get the rest."
As he began to get the other books, he turned quickly. "OH! I'm Antony, by the way. Nice to meet you."

The female bit her lower lip softly. She really could carry more if he needed her to because four novels wasn't a lot. They certainly weren't heavy. No, not at all.
She removed her teeth from her lip and a small smile formed on her face. "I'm Kylie. I think I might have seen you around before. Maybe," her voice trailed off softly as she completed her sentence.
"So, do you live in the dorms or what?" she asked him as she watche dhim retrieve books. She ws trying to make mall talk, but she wasn't too good at it.

Daphne sat at one of the fine oak tables, her head buried in a text. She scribbled some notes into it. A few other large book laid open in front of her. Yes, she had already gotten an report assigned to her and it was the only the first day of school.
She quickly skimmed the page hoping to get anything that would help her get done with it quicker. She grabbed fro her Dasani bottled water and took another drink. As she did someone caught her eye. Well, two people did, but one she knew well and she hadn't seen for the past couple weeks.

Antony held the rest of his books in one arm, the other fishing through the back pocket of his Express jeans for the keys to his car.
"Yeah, I live in the dorms, but I usually go to the Valks. My cousin has a house down there he never uses, so I go and stay there when I need some study time. What about you?"
He pulled the keys from his pocket, shifted the books around in his arms, and walked towards Kylie.
"We can take these to my car, that'll be good."

She stood and thought to herself for a few seconds. "Wow, rich kids," she thought. She really shouldn't think down on them though since her family was kind of rich too. They didn't live in the shacks, that was for sure.
As she started to talk to him, she walked towards the door. "Yeah, I live in the dorms too. Number 106. They're actually pretty nice. This is my first year living in one."
The smell of his coffee really made her want one herself. Man. She needed to go and get one when she was done helping him. That is, if she didn't get caught up in conversation or something.

"Mm. I've been here since I was in like, eighth grade. It's my parents way of making up for never being home; sending me off to a place with other people my age."
As they walked out, he caught movement out of the corner of his eye, and when he realized who it was he grinned.
"Hold on, let's go visit my friend first."
He walked over to the girl's table, letting his books fall on the surface with a loud thump.
"Hey there, kid." He said, smiling at Daphne.
"Kylie, if you don't know her already, this is Daphne."

Daphne grinned, "Many books?" she asked as they thumped on her table. "I was waiting for you to notice I was in here," she joked and got up to hug him, "God, how long has it been?"
Antony was a great guy to hang with and Daphne always enjoyed his company. His sister though, always gave her the cold shoulder when she tried to talk with her on a couple of occasions.
She outstretched her hand to the girl he called Kylie. "I'm Daphne."

Kylie walked over to the table, following behind the boy. She had never seen that girl before, so she was excited to meet a new person. She placed the four novels on the table, those books not making a thud like Antony's did.
Also stretching out her arm, she shook Daphne's hand. "Hey, Daphne. I'm Kylie."
A warm smile was on her face. A bunch of her friends had graduated from this school the previous year, so it was nice that she was starting to meet new people.

"Mmm, it's been way to long. I think I saw you at that charity benefit thing my Dad took me to over the summer." He smiled, "How've you been?"
He glanced at Kylie, "If there is one person to meet in this school, it's Daph. She probably knows how this school works better than anyone. And she's a great friend."

Yeah, it probably was that charity benefit. They had fun there. One of those few parties in the summer she actually enjoyed.
She blushed, "Oh stop," she said and playfully slapped Antony in the arm. "Though, I do know this school. Everything about the latest...everything," she laughed and tossed some loose curls that fell over her shoulder behind her.
She studied Kylie. She had a small frame but it suited her well. Did she just move here? She heard a lot of students moved here over the summer, she had already met a few. "So, did you just move here, Kylie?"

Kylie nodded her head at Anthony. She agreed that it would be nice to know someone who knew just about everything about the shcool and probably the people in it since her eyes and ears from the previous year had left.
Her attention was then on Daphne and her smile had faded away just because it was a little awkward for her to meet new people. She could be shy sometimes but only when she didn't know someone. Other times she was hyper and crazy.
"No, I've been going here for the two previous years, but I kind of kept to myself or hung out with seniors. Since they all graduated I don't really know anyone."

"Nonesense," Antony exclaimed, "You know us. Once you know the two of us, you'll know everyone." He laughed, a chunk of his delicate brown hair falling into his eyes.
As he swept it to the side, he eyed the two girls, "So, what classes do you guys have this year? Anything interesting?" He was eyeing his rather hefty stack of books, wondering if either girl had to worry about as many books as he did.

Kylie had been leaning against the edge of the table. She finally hopped up and slid back so that she was now sitting on it. Usually the libratians didn't care, but she wasn't sure how they would act towards it this year. They might have become more strict over the years.
As she gently swung her feet, Kylie tilted her head, thinking about the question that Antony had brought up. She only remembered what a few of her classes were. She had actually arrived at the school late because of personal family matters, so she had missed the first day of classes. She was there now, though.
"Uhm. So far I just know about AP English, Photography, Pre Cal, and AP LAtin," she replied, trying to remember some of the others. "What about you?"
