The girl was pretty much in love with her iPod. It was almost her best friend, but not quite. She took it just about everywhere, just like every other person who owned one. It wasn’t uncommon to see her walking down the streets with an ear bud in, or to see her trying listen to it during some really boring class.
That day was just like any other day for the girl, except she wasn’t busy with a million things to do. Her papers had all been turned in, she had gotten a day off of work, and there was just nothing for her to do. No parties were going on. There wasn’t a huge football game or anything. It was weird because Kylie wasn’t used to having a day off. She still wasn’t sure how to get in touch with Antony, which really sucked because it seemed like it had been forever since she had gotten to hear his voice. Stupid Alex had his phone, and that made things a lot harder.
Okay, so, maybe it wasn't a normal day for Kylie.
Since the day was so lame and boring, Ky was in the courtyard. Yes, it was odd because she would never really go out there to relax. But when did she even have time for it? Just like always, she was listening to her iPod. The song “Boys, Girls, Sing!” by Backseat Goodbye was playing. Ah, how she loved the soft sound of an acoustic guitar. It didn’t take too long after the song started for her to begin singing.
“It’s not like this is the end of the world, it’s just another Saturday in the park,” she sang softly. Normally it was hard to get the girl to sing, but she was bored at that moment. The wind started to blow and it made her think of just what the song was talking about. The leaves of the tree that she was sitting under made a gentle noise as they hit each other. She sighed softly. “I’m glad I have the day off, but this is just boring… No wonder I keep myself so busy…”
