"It wasn't quite, what they did to me, but what I did to them. Long story short, Dad wanted me in sports for the rest of my life. Me, I can't see sports beyond high school for me. That ticked him off. Really ticked him off. You can see we got in a bar brawl and before I knew it I was packing my shit to leave. I got emancipated from my parents last year. Been living in the Shaks since," he finished. He didn't want her pity. He really didn't care.
"You too, huh?" he asked, "You sounded like you were in the same boat. What's it with you?" Reed asked and withdrew his pack of cigarettes. The school forbidded it, but no one was here, no one would noticed. Just to be polite he offered her one, "I hope you don't mind. Me smoking."

She looked at him, taking in his comments. "No, its ok" she said whlie looking at the box of ciggarets. She looked back at him, "Well, I am kind of on the same boat..." she said
"You see, 2 years ago my mother got into alcohal,and she would always lash out at my father and I. Physically and mentally." She said thinking aloud. "And one day my dad got sick of her hurtiung us and he filed for divorce, it was obvious that I would get to stay with him" she sighed thinking back to the joy of being released from her mother. "But the day that the court was deciding my dad got afraid and took a large amount of drugs to make him feel better, granted... he died" she said, bringing back the thought of her fathers death made her fill with sorrow and anger "His last words to me were 'Screw you', because he thought I was my mom. Now I live with my mom and she is still into alcohal and she makes me go out and by her drugs" she said looking down at her phone, there were many messages from her mom about drugs. "When I dont bring her, her alcohal she gets mad and lashes out,"
Ashley felt bad talking about her problems, she didnt want to seem like she wanted pity from people, that was the one thing she didnt want. "She is always lashing out though, no matter what" Ashley sighed "Im sorry, for venting out on you" she said looking into his eyes. Truthfully she was fighting back tears, but she just put on a smile and acted as if everything was better.

ooc|| Too lazy my dear.
He put the pack back in his pocket and lit the cigarette. He inhaled as he listened to Ashley's story. He was listening. That was what some people never thought of Reed. A listener. He could sit there all day just listening to Ashley talk because he didn't mind being talked too. Maybe it was because he only communicated with people at school and work. He didn't have anyone to talk to when he returned home.
He took out the cigarette, "I'm sorry." How else was he suppose to responed to something like that? He could see her holding back tears. He slung his free hand around her shoulder, "It's ok," he said and squeezed her shoulder. Why did he feel like only a few people knew about her mom?

She felt comfertable around him. She put her head on his shoulder. "Dont waste your time feeling sorry for me" she whipered, a tear rolling down her cheek. She felt bad, for herself, for her father, for Reed, she felt sorry for venting to him.
"Thank you" she whispered, "I dont really have many people to talk about this with because girls are catty and they spread rumors to easily..." she tryed to say but it came out as a mumble because of her tears. She really didnt have many people to talk to about her home life. I mean her brother never liked to disscuss it and she had no other family.

"I'm not wasting my time," he reasoned, "I can see where you're coming from. I've dealt with shit like that in the past. It's not easy... all by yourself. I should know, I spend everyday to myself. I could be surrounded by all my friends but you can still feel alone, becuase they have no idea what you are going through."
He took his hand and wiped the tear from her cheek. He wanted to...just help her. "As long as there are girls, there are girls that are mean. SOmetime though, you need a friend...like me," he smield at her. "I may not live in a ten bed-room mansion, but my playstation is the only thing now-a-days that keep me company. You could stop over sometime. We could play some of my older games together. You know, and talk."
ooc|| Maybe they could play Sonic the Headgehog. >.<

"Your the only person who actually understands me..." she said with a slight smile. "I would love to come over and play games, mabey Sonic or something" she smiled, the thought made her laugh.
It made her remember the time she cut her hair as a child, great times they were. She smiled and looked up at him. "I like you, alot" she mouthed with a big smile!

"Sonic it is then," he concluded and squeezed her shoulder, reasurring her. How would have guessed that he would find another great friend at school. And this girl seemed like she knew where most of the kids came from. She seemed to appreciate life, something a lot of the kids at this school needed to learn.
"I like you, alot."
He smiled at her, "I like you too," he replied and smiled. He got up, offering a hand to help her up. "So, I have to go. Maybe I'll see you around?" he asked. He would very much like that. This was a beginning of a new school year, which meant friends. And Ashley was looking ok to him.
