New York City; The Big Apple; The City that never sleeps; Gotham (BATMAN!); The Capital of the World; The Empire City; The City so nice they named it twice!

New York - the City with many names. It was first founded in the year of 1624 but wasn't properly established until 1625 by the Dutch who used it as a commercial trading post. In 1970 it New York was one of the largest Cities in the United States of America. Today New York is comprised of five boroughs - The Bronx; Brooklyn; Manhattan; Queens and Staten Island. In 2007 there was an estimated figure of around 8,274,527 people living within a 322 square miles (830 km²) radius of New York (and around the boroughs).

Welcome to New York, a great place to build a new life, follow that dream you've been after your whole life or to just party hard and study later.

It's the city filled with many types of people. You have the artists, the musicians, the writers, the closet poets, the book worms the smart alecs. It is also a home to crime, gangs, drugs, partying and alcohol but is kept under control by the cops that are always roaming the streets, the hallways of schools or your favorite coffee shop. Then there's the men and women who dedicated their lives to serving their country in other ways; the soldiers, the doctors and nurses, the firefighters, and the EM-T's. Oh, and you mustn't forget the business men, the fashion designers, the pilots, flight attendants and people of that kind; every person can find somewhere they belong in this wonderful town. New York is the city of endless possibilities; people come here to fulfill their dreams, escape from their past or to simply make a brand new start. No matter what your reasoning is behind coming to this marvelous city; the city that never sleeps you will be sure to find your place here.

So, you think that New York is the perfect City for you to settle down and make it there? Well my dears, you are wrong, because what you see on the outside isn't all of it, there is more... much more. Ordinary people are part of big groups, there's violence, sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll. They're the people you wouldn't expect to have skeletons in their closets but they do, and sooner or later you're going to find yourself tied up in one big conspiracy. I hope you have a good head on your shoulders, some sense and responsibility because you're going to need it in this City they call New York.
