Dawn was just breaking free of the horizon, slowly the sun peaked out from beneath the dark skies, banishing away the looming darkness, giving way to a water-color like scenery. Warm waters washed ashore, while a cool wind swept over the sandy beach. What a wonderful morning this could be.
Behind him, he left a trail of wet, sandy footprints as warm tides washed up over them making them slowly become invisible. Of course he ran in the tide lines, the semi-warm water had an ability to wake him up, or it least that's what he thought. After a few more seconds of running, he suddenly changed course away from the waves of the ocean and to wards the heart of the beach.
Slowly, but surely, he ran up a large sand-dune, but before reaching the top he quickly dived down onto the sand, flipping over once, and sliding a few inches down the hill before stopping. He couldn't help but laugh slightly at the stupid move that he had done. Taking in a few deep breaths, he forced himself up and brushed off some of the sand that clung to his clothing and his arms. Then he brought one leg up to his chest and wrapped his left arm around it.
"What a good day," he whispered allowed, closing his green eyes partly as he watched the sun raise up above the ocean ever so slowly.
