... wouldn't the opposite of progress be congress ? ah, so, there's a trend of new character ideas going around. i love it. unfortunately, I've had quite a few screamers - new characters that scream too much, thanks - these past few weeks, and I finally decided to make a few of them. since I'm finally catching up on my character-making-list, it's time to add to it! don't we love that?
like anna ( i'm such a copycat ) I'm going to be putting a few posts of potential characters, and then y'all can vote. good? good. so, i've decided on posting three characters for y'all to vote on. i love them all equally, so don't be afraid to tear them apart. (: I'm thinking I'll make two of them, but if people love them all enough, I can handle three more. No problem. good? good. once everything is decided, i'll post the chosen characters on my other, final character board with the potential plots and such. so don't be afraid to post those ( AKA it's encouraged (; ) on to it!

{.Not... Again?! `` the Carlisle's.
Maxine “Max” Carlisle. the beautiful disaster.
the personality. There are so many variations of the clichéd “good girl”, it’s almost head spinning. You can have your innocent, shy girls who do everything right. There are your virgin goddesses who secretly wish for something more. Can’t even forget about those girls who are just considered “good” because they never had the chance to shine through. They make up for their lacklustre reputations with sassy remarks and fake confidence. Yawn. However, everyone is different in their own special way, right? Two girls could be the exact same when explained plainly, but there are always minor differences from person to person. When you come to Max Carlisle, it’s no different. Growing up in a small, dusty community tends to make someone a little more coherent to the rules than most. She never had the opportunity to really experiment with sex, drugs and rock and roll. Thus, by association, she became a “good girl”. While she had been raised by a single father with too much on his mind, it was almost natural for her to fall into the mother role of the moving household. As such, she lived more through bad teen dramas and romantic films than actual life. Sweet by nature, there are, of course, dark folds within the sweet girl’s initial personality. With such a dysfunctional form of love in her life, there’s that nasty habit of getting to know the “bad people”. The ones with the deep-seated emotional issues she could develop and make her own. If you actually think about it, the “good girl” image is so stereotypically correct, what’s there to explain? She smiled, helped out, and was sweet to everything that moved. Built with a sharp tongue and little patience for incompetent morons, you could say Max was difficult to be around. While she liked helping others, she hated when people got in her way. When someone would pressure her to go along with it, she would happily. If there is an important person in her life, she’ll do whatever they ask, whenever they ask it. Fierce loyalty without a second question to the point of spineless insecurities. There are so many variations to a good girl, but they’re all the same in the end, aren’t they? She also happens to be:
-unusually sweet, but not too nice. -helpful. -loyal to the point of being spineless. -much too caring. -easily trusting. -confused by stereotypes and popularity; she doesn’t see the point. -one of the California surfer girls. -a bit of a geek. -an army brat. -raised on the road for much of her life. -understanding. -fiercely independent. -extremely close to her brother. -a stereotypical “good girl”. -used to small communities, not Valkyrie. -fairly outgoing. -a little bit bold, a little bit shy. -surprisingly sensible. -protective. -obsessed with helping others through their issues. -raised without another woman in her life. -a little confused about her identity. -easily influenced.
Matthew Dean Carlisle. the confused dancer.
the personality. Why is there such a stereotype when it comes to dancers? Seriously, everyone thinks they either dance ballet and have an unlimited trust fund; or rock out to street dancing or hip hop and so obviously come from the wrong side of the tracks. It was just sickeningly wrong. Of course, rich kids tend to go towards the more classical forms of dance – Yale likes ballet more than break dancing. That’s just how it is. However, when you come to someone in a situation like Matt Carlisle is, it becomes a little bit confusing. He wasn’t from ‘da hood, and definitely had no hopes of getting an Ivy League education anytime soon. He was your average, All-American white kid who happened to find ballet embarrassingly humorous. Quite unlike his little sister, Matt definitely is not your typical…anything. He wasn’t particularly “good”, but he wasn’t a terrible person, either. Just caught in the wrong place at the wrong time, you could say. As someone who was raised on the road and in small towns, there was little to no time for him to extinguish that creative muse he was born with. Must have gotten than from his mother. See, he was built a lot like his father – tough, ambitious, slightly whacked upstairs. He just didn’t have that passion for others that came to Max so naturally. You tell me, what does an unusually restless teenage boy do in his spare time other than cause mild forms of mayhem? One afternoon, that answer came quite naturally to the Army Brat. Wandering down a street in downtown Chicago gave him the answer; two known thugs seemed to be doing more with their lives. He had heard these stubborn fellows were going no where – he heard of their reputations and obvious rivalry. But why? He didn’t know, never had the chance. Truthfully, he had never thought dance was a particularly intelligent sport. A bunch of guys prancing around in tights, how charming. But here, now, it was different. Fire in their eyes, their movements robotic but smooth at the same time. It was like watching water having a seizure; definitely no tights here.
See, even the children of do-gooders like an aging soldier can get into trouble. By the time he turned fourteen, it was clear that Matt Carlisle wasn’t fit for the life his father wanted his only son to have. Early mornings, working out…it was all so trivially boring to his son. This is when he took up the fine art of rebellious dance. Street dancing. No training necessary; just self-taught gymnastics and watching music videos on television. Keeps him off the street, to say the least. Stop judging and be happy, daddy. He also happens to be:
-has a good heart deep down. -a bit of a troublemaker. -rebellious. -impatient and easily frustrated. -counts his sister as his best friend. -hateful against the government. -outspoken. -little to no consideration for amateur dancers. -judgemental. -quietly angry. -turns to violence rather than talking. -difficult to be around. -half-blind. -embracing his dancing heritage. -trained in many styles of dance. -known for his street shows around Valkyrie. -a bit of a freak. -has no patience for popularity. he’ll be friends with who he wants. - dancing for just four odd years. -completely self taught. -intrigued easily. -stereotypically an angry older brother. -good around kids. -argumentative. -living his life on his own terms; no matter what. -has no value for material possessions. -sick of running away. -feels abandoned.
the conjoined history.
How many men and women are recruited into the United States Military every year? Countless amounts of people, actually. While many serve their few years and move on with their lives, a few people honestly have no where else to go. What does a trained Airforce pilot do? Fly commercial jets? Right. In the case of Dustin Carlisle and his wife, Emily, that was exactly what happened. He eagerly joined the military immediately after graduating high school, with no real intention of leaving. She was drafted to be a nurse overseas shortly after her twenty-third birthday, nearly five years after Dustin first became a solider for his country. Well, when you’re stuck in the middle of no where with nothing but sand crabs and sunlight, what is one to do to pass the time? In the case of these headstrong young ones, they decided a casual little fling would do as a decent hobby and satisfy the natural need for sexual relations with another person once and awhile. What started as friends-with-benefits relationship soon blossomed into a secret affair. Whether they loved one another or not was never a relative thing – it was there and it was available. Shockingly enough, no one got pregnant during the first four odd years of their secret little relationship. Or whatever you wanted to call it.
By the time both Emily and Dustin turned the ripe old age of twenty-eight, it had been unofficially declared that both of their future careers lay before them: in the military. He would become a lieutenant or captain…whatever the successful old guys become, and she would settle happily into a heart-warming career of nursing. It was all just perfect. They could be fuck-buddies until they died. Except for one little problem: a positive pregnancy test. About time, right? Plenty of people meet and fall in love through work, so maybe that’s what the soon-to-be Carlisle family did? Even to this day, no one really knows why or how they got married. One day they hardly knew one another, the next, they were officially husband and wife with a baby boy on the way. It was a clichéd life, it really was. As soon as Emily left for maternity leave, they had a fractured home-life. While one parent stayed to raise the baby, the other would be saving lives or killing people off across the world. Perhaps that is why this marriage worked out so well – they never saw one another, and were ecstatic on the occasional time where a reunion would happen. Eighteen lovely months of this before that next pregnancy test was positive. God damnit.
This was when Max Carlisle was brought into the world. On a sunny Thursday afternoon in late August, an ambulance drove the nearly single mother and her young son to the hospital to give birth to her second and final, child. But things happen. Maybe it was because she was facing the beginning of this baby by herself. Maybe it was because she was actually in love with her husband and she knew he could be dead at any moment. Whatever it was, the doctors declared it as complications brought on by emotional distress. Whatever that means. It means that once the perfect little girl popped out into the world, the perfect mother was sent up to heaven. Once notified of this, Dustin caught the next flight back to small-town Utah so he could be with his only remaining family, his children. And thus began his career as a military man working on the bases.
With no real female influence in her life, Maxine quickly grew into the playful tomboy any girl raised by men become. Through some mysterious force, she and her older brother were put through multiple schools, multiple times. Oh, the life of a military brat. Her father constantly moved around from base to base, working for the military on whatever job he had been reassigned to do. Even during the odd times he was sent back to Iraq or wherever as a lieutenant and the Carlisle children stayed with whatever relative hadn’t seen them in six years, it was a stressful childhood. By the time she was fourteen years of age, her father had been sent overseas without a complaint three times; often for months at a time. But everyone has some sort of paternal instinct in them, don’t they? After nearly twenty years as a faithful soldier, it was time to stop. Dustin Carlisle was sick of raising his children on a different base every few months. He was sick of potentially leaving them without a home. He was sick of his children following in his insane steps – overachieving, overly loyal, overly bitter, too much of a fighter.
Every year, dozens of soldiers are what we call “stop-lossed”. Without a choice, they are sent back on a plane to blow up people who don’t deserve it. The year Max turned fifteen, her father was stop-lossed. Even when he tried to get out, he had no choice. He was to serve his country just like he had for the past twenty-seven years. No questions asked. So, what do the rebellious ones do? They run. They live in seedy motels and dusty little communities. They change their names and move to Canada. They do everything a soldier never does. Even at forty-five or forty-six, working with stuffy old strategists – perfectly out of harms way – he didn’t have a choice. He ran. He moved his children from the bases in large cities to dirty old country roads and little towns of eight hundred people, maximum. Thus, began her life as, not only a military brat, but a brat of a stop-lossed soldier who ran.
For two solid years – what a magical number this is – Dustin Carlisle moved his teenage children around America. One month, they would be in Wisconsin and the next they would be living in a little shack just outside of Nowheresville, Montana. Tends to have a negative influence on your children. While her father was out escaping the government much of the time, it was up to the strikingly different siblings to take care of one another. Not even in the brother-sister sort of way, more like they were roommates. As time wore on, things slowly began to change. Her brother had always been headstrong and stubborn – he never took well to things being constantly laced with a cynical tension. He began to turn into the person he hated the most in the world: his father. A little bit bitter, a little bit frustrated. He was sick of running, he was sick of fighting. It was just one blow-out after another; opposites attract and then blow up in one another’s faces. In this case, they were to similar survive under one roof peacefully. Didn’t stop anyone trying.
Dustin continued to keep his son under his care. He packed up from their small little community in Oregon they had called home for the past four months and moved to the only state left: California. A little town just outside of LA. Maybe if he pretended to be giving into his children’s pain, they would shut up and listen to him. Oh please. That was eight months ago, and it still wasn’t working. Matthew Carlisle still hated his father. Maxine Carlisle tried to keep everything at bay. It really wasn’t easy.

{.Not... Again?! `` the Knight.
Adam Sebastian Knight. the dark knight. no canon, copyrighting, lame-ass infringement intended. It’s a good metaphor. (:
the personality. Do you really think that it’s possible for someone to be born a certain way? They’re born cold and ambitious, so they stay like that for the rest of their lives – no matter what happens. Please. How many times does that actually happen? A person can naturally be some things, of course, but things in one’s character change through time and experience. You might hate it, but that’s just the way things are. That may very well be true, but some people stay the same longer than others. When you look at a person like Adam Knight, you might get that very impression. Even when he was young, he had a fiery ambition that few people ever found in their lifetime. With an iron-clad worth ethic not to rival those of his fellow competitors, it was easy to say that he had been born the way he was. Even as a child, he showed the maturity and determination many success-thirsty law students have. With a gentle spirit and people-pleasing smile, there really had never been a doubt he wouldn’t succeed in his life, career-wise. And it was very true. During his times as a top stock broker, that work ethic and ambition fit in perfectly with his life. Only one problem, much of that spirit faded away. Overtaken by the power that comes with a fiercely competitive anyone. The responsibility and respect easily went to his head; initially causing the downfall of his entire career. But, like I said, there was a person in their somewhere. Remember, Adam had been born with a docile sort of fortitude. When life gets worse, the more humane side of a person is shown. And this is no exception in Knight’s case. The moment he discovered the fatal mistake he had made, all of that power-hungry anger was torn from his body and set back out into the world to claim another victim. From day number one, Adam Knight was a quiet, almost subdued sort of person. There was a quiet sort of strength to his actions, a fiery glint in his steely eyes. To this day, none of that has disappeared. With a slightly more cynical, private outlook on life, he prefers big actions and few words. A people-pleaser at heart, there’s never a time where he won’t lend a helping hand to those who deserve it; more or less, he’s better with seniors and small children. Call him a tornado of self-destruction with a few kind sprinkles thrown into the mess. He also happens to be: -extremely introverted and shy. -used to be one of New York’s most successful stock brokers. -unusually ambitious. -passionate. -a people-pleaser. -studying illusion and the history of magic. -a bit of a geek. -docile. -hostile to those who betray his trust. -helpful in the community. -private about his life. -completely against anything bad/illegal. -self-centered. -one with an iron-clad work ethic. -an artist. -kind. -a lover, not a fighter. -old-fashioned. -chivalrous. -soft spoken in the best of situations. -brooding. -patient to those who deserve it. -stubborn. -helpless in the terms of his career now.
the conjoined history.
Really, this isn’t the most interesting of histories. By birth, Adam Knight was Adam Sebastian Silver. A good seven or eight years older than his younger sister, Tristan, he never grew up in the life of trust funds and foreign sports cars that she did. I think it’s been confirmed that wealthy and powerful couples are never against in letting their eyes wander. The rich CEO husband screws his younger, hotter secretaries. In an act of lustful revenge, the plastic wife seduces the young pool boy into her bed. Then, once they both find out, they fight and have amazing make-up sex. It’s like a vicious circle. Except I don’t think that Darren Silver ever really intended to impregnate his secretary early in his marriage. He was a good daddy to his, basically, illegitimate child. After he fired the poor girl as his secretary and personally paid for her one-way ticket to New York City, he sent monthly cheques to support the single mother. It wasn’t glamorous, but it kept everyone quiet. Such a clichéd situation, don’t you think? Whatever. The point is, Adam Silver quickly became Adam Knight, just to save his other family the humiliations of a child like…him. But, he had an average child, nonetheless. His mother was a decent one, always caring for her son and realizing his fiery potential. At sixteen, he got one of the few internships at one of the many high-powered companies dealing with wall street in central Manhattan. Getting coffee was boring, but it did give him an inside look at the world he would soon enter.
The moment he graduated from high school, Adam looked into the two things he was good at: numbers and screwing with people. Perfect combination for a stock broker, don’t you think? Even during his training, he showed high potential. With a naturally quick-wit and ability to spot another’s weakness, it was no surprise to anyone that he was a highly paid broker by the time he turned twenty-one. It was perfect, really. He had the apartment in downtown Manhattan, with the cat and plasma television waiting patiently when he came home after twelve or thirteen hours at the office. He drove a fancy sports car. He played golf with his co-workers and he spent his mornings drinking black coffee and watching CNN. You know, just in case. While he was even-tempered and was good with charity, there was a certain amount of power in his possession now. As such a young success story, you can see why. It went straight to his head. He bad-mouthed his friends, took advantage of less talented brokers, the whole nine yards. When you’re that full of yourself, you sometimes become lax with your work, don’t you? I know when I do a good job, I become slightly more careless about what I’m doing. Contrary to what’s popular, that’s exactly what happened to Adam Knight. One minute, he was on top of the world. And the next, all he did was make a little mistake. Told a white lie to one client, fabricated the truth to his boss. He typed a few numbers in wrong, and everything went down. The stock market took a definite dive after this fatal mistake on his part. Good one, Knight. It took him three years to crash and then finally burn. Nice.
See? His childhood was boring, his adult life even worse.
Last month, Adam Knight was making it into articles in Time and any other glossy business magazine around the nation. He played golf and had a pricey sports car. His apartment was near the pent house and he didn’t have anyone in his life, didn’t need anyone. But, royally humiliating your firm in front of everyone tends to knock one down a few pegs on the ladder. It wasn’t the lengthy speech, all at very high volumes, from his superiors, it wasn’t even the way people looked at him. It was the fact that he had proven himself to be human. For awhile, he was invincible. On top of the world. Nothing could hurt him. A little carelessness and he was sitting on the doorstep of his previously invisible father, Darren Silver. At age twenty-four, he was back living at home with a typically Valkyrie family, something he despised the most in the world. He had enrolled himself to the local University with hopes of finding something to do with his sad, miserable existence. He liked pleasing people. Maybe he would make a good doctor. Whatever it was, it was over for him. Not even thirty and his life was over. Good on you, Knight.
this is when you vote and post comments . . . <3

GAH!! asia!! stop being brilliant!
hmm... okay first and for most, I love love love love Mr. Knight, seriously, I love him. So I definitely vote of for him right off the bat.
It's the other two that's harder for me to pick between. Valkyrie is always in need of sweet girls seeing all the bitches around and broody dancers are just plain sexy. and I would so want to plot with both of them. plus I love them together as two Army brats, so maybe I vote for them as a pair instead of Knight... but that makes me cry, lol. ummm hmmmmmmmmm......
Okay okay okay, although I would love Knight so I could jump his bones and live through my charries, I say make the two sibs...
but we need more adults..... grrrrrr..... ummm
soo I'm going to cheat until tomorrow and other people vote, because I want to hear their reasoning and THEN I'll submit my decided vote. as for plot ideas::
Maxine great name btw, anyways, I could see mary either really liking her or getting annoyed by her. because she would love that she's not the typical Valker but hate she was easily influenced or anything. lol I could so see peter digging her at first and then gettin annoyed as she tries to get him to work through his father issues, like she see's a sore on his back or something at the beach while they're surfing and gets obsessed with getting to the bottom of it and trying to protect him or something sweet like that that would just piss him off. lol
Matt mm broody sexy goodness. I could see Mary being friends with him of some sort. I could also see a plot between him and Rose, even though he's not ballroom and she's not street, I could see them being intrigued, attracted, and completely repulsed by one another, lol, sorta,
Adam yummy yummy yummy Rose would want him... lover, not a fighter. old-fashioned. chivalrous, older? that screams Rose radar since the only guy she's been with was in his forties. sadly my brain doesn't go much further on him than that half-baked thing... i just really like him.
That wasn't helpful at all... but... I'll be more helpful tomorrow

god, you are so amazing, must i choose? since these are the three screamers you've been talking about, they seem to awesome and well thought through, they are definitely screaming to be made. hm hm, i guess i'll start from max and work my way down since i don't know who i want off the bat.
maxine , hold up, is that isabel lucas? i'm pretty positive it is, and if it's not i'll feel stupid. haha, but then, yay for more aussie actresses. i think she's the ying to bevin's yang seriously. and she surfs? ohmygosh, she can be adopted into the exclusive surfer girl clique. i just love her personality, she's awesome. i also think her and sophie would be two peas in a pod aswell, because of similiarish personalities.
matt , ahhh sexy sexy. i can actually see some of my guys like reed, petros, and freddy just like, not liking him. since he's a dancer and if you decide to make him, the only chica of mine that would probably plot well with him would be lucy, because she's a dancer. she's in ballet but does a lot of contemporary and modern stuff, but would probably envy him because he's self-taught and looks amazing, since as outgoing as she is, she would never go off and dance in the streets. i've always wanted someone to make a r.hoffman character because i love him and he's so awesome and the fact that he's a professional dancer before an actor just makes him that much hotter. lol.
adam , mm, more sexiness. =] so, i know we are all 'we need more adults' and it is harder when we don't have many around, i'm guilty too, kinda leaving my adults to be made last so i don't feel dead with them and wanting to make one of the teens. but, -shrugs- if we want to plot more adults, we just gotta start making them, you know? haha. i love adam's history how he was just so high in the social chain and now, he's going to VU. so at the looks of it, i have five adults [counting al and syd] and they all [except one] in some way, shape, or form, go to vu, so i'll go down the list. depends what adams going to VU for and what classes he'll be in, but since i noticed he's an artist, if he takes and art class, he could be in a class with alberto. i dunno the chances of him ever running into freddy, and they personalities are so opposite, it could be amusing, like if you and anna are gonna do something with rose - freddy is just not like adam so that would be so interesting. um, riley, well i can definitely see them being friends but then again, riley can be friends with anyone. i kinda almost forgot about scarlett which just shows her lack of plotness without many people her age. she doesn't go to vu, but she's been very successful in her own way and the only plot i can think of is that she knew of him and found out he's in town and now she wants him at the casino, which she'd be surprised that he's crashed and burn and probably be amused by it. lastly, sydney, she's getting her masters in psychology, so again, dunno if they'd meet around campus, and she has a daughter, so -shrugs- depends if we plot them, maybe he didn't know she had a daughter, like in the movies where the single mom doesn't know how guys react to a kid. haha. but yeah, those are all possible plots with my adults.
so, i know i wrote more on adam, but that's because for adult plotting sake so if you feel wary on making him because we don't have many adults to plot with, think of me [heehee] because i have five potential plots if you want, haha. i still am having a hard time voting, maybe because at least on of my characters would plot with max, matt, or adam. hmm, but i'd have to vote adam because he rocks and his history is like nothing valkyrie has have seen. then i have a tie for more max and matt because siblings are awesome and i like them equally. =] with little or no help, lainey

only got a few minutes so im going to type this really quick. there will prob be some mistakes but whatev. haha. btw, i just skimmed through so if i misunderstood or something, tell me.
im actually not sure who to vote for. maxine and matt seem pretty cool, just because they are. but i like adam tooooo. haha. so you can just see what everyone else is saying for who to vote for. im just going to go on and on about random things like i usually do these days.
maxine. friends with sam for sure. they just have to be. nikki could be friends with her once she goes back to tomboy and out of her girly phase. because at this point, i don't think she'll be very close to maxine =P but what do i know? we could plan out anything because our characters are like, our little puppets. ;] if you wanna plot, im offering up aaron because i still gotta get him going.
matt. omg, you are so evil. xD i wanted to make a briana e. character & now because of him, i want to make her more, but remember the 'no new charries' thing? yeah, thats hard for moi. lol. whatev. you may be evil, but i love you anyways. come on, how can you not love an evil, helpful camel? okie, that sounded weird. we could totally plot him with faith because amanda bynes & robert hoffman were in shes the man together. it was only a bit, but im sure there are pics of them together somewhere.
adam. the dark knight! can you believe i still havent watched that movie? im prob going to watch it this weekend because if i don't, i'm going to be one sad cookie. anyways, maybe maddie could help him with his life? she's my oldest charrie at the moment, nineteen, but she could like, help him try to find a career he could get into or something like that.
ugh, that was so short (well kinda) but i've got to go in a few minutes. maybe ill finally have time to really read this thing, but if i do, i'll give you my opinions (if i found out that i missed something really awesome) in the cbox. it's friday today though! i'll be on a lot for the weekend...hopefully. maybe ill finish my posts & be able to make new charries. then when you make matt, i'll be like BAM! briana evigan charrie made.
lily the busy, exhausted cookie that is so glad its friday<3
