the river below, has signed on. the river below, has started instant message. the rvier below,
I’ve lived in Valkyrie for only four days, and I’ve already fallen off of my surfboard three times. Three! That never happened anywhere else. Are the waves here just naturally that rough, or was I caught in a bad spell? Because that wouldn’t be cool for the flow. Hah, I sound like a pot-head or something. So here I sit, right after school, nursing stitches in my arm. The doctor said not to get them wet. Don’t say I’m the only one condemned to “bed rest”?

I moved around a lot in the past few years, and I never really noticed it much. But now that I think about it, you’re right. The waves that were along Florida’s coast were a lot lighter than around here – but it’s a good challenge. Just came down from Oregon, actually. So I didn’t get a whole lot of surfing done, but it was a weird experience. Yeah, stitches. It was really early – still dark – so I couldn’t really see everything, and I ended up being a lot closer to shore than I thought. Then bam! Hit the rocks. I take that you’re a fellow surfer?
I’m Max. (:

wild hope,
oregon? jeeze, middle of no where for us surfers, eh? how long have you been in no man's land? oh, but yes, i must have just missed you, i went a little later this morning. reason why i was late for my first hour class, but my teacher is use to that. you can't ignore the good waves when they come. damn though that must have hurt, i'd say. i've had a few falls like that.

seems like it. my dad had my brother and i in more coastal states a lot when we were growing up, so it was a definite change. the snow was insane. i lived there for about three months, been here for four days - so not long? heh. ah, probably. i've been going way earlier than everyone else; i haven't seen anyone out on the waves except for last weekend, which kind of sucks. surfing with other people is definitely more fun. but i do have to agree, it's either really early morning or later, when school is. we all must make sacrifices for the things we love. and yeah, it wasn't fun. but the best of us do it.

wild hope,
i've moved once in my life. i was in the sixth grade and came from ireland with my parents and brother. i remember my first four days. it was me eating sand on the beach with my cousins. it sound more hardcore than that too. yeah, the surf hasn't been the same lately, i will agree with that. considering i have surfed everyday for the past... five years now. oh yeah, i remember this one time i had this massive gash in my forehead. face first into rocks is never fun. didn't even realize i needed stitches until that night when the gash was deeper than i thought. so, without being a stalker, where you shacking up? I assume you move a lot because one of your parents is in the military?

oooh, really? i've heard a lot of really interesting things about ireland. (: it's just been around the states for me, so that's kind of boring. heh, my first days here have probably been about the same. i used to think i was fairly decent until i got a taste of the california waves - much different from florida, where i've been for most of my life. or in that general area, at least. ah jeeze, seriously? face first is always the worst. arms are no big deal. so yikes. hah, that could be taken as stalkerish. (; but no, i'm shacking it up between places. my half-brother's apartment, the family mansion ( ugh, it's so big ) and the apartment owned by an old family friend. but yeah, guilty as charged. both parents were in the military for like...ever actually. my dad is overseas, so i'm stuck here for now.
