It is definitely girly though, I can't honestly say it's not. Her style usually involves a lot of jewelry. She loves funky jewelry and fun little images. As for her main attire she loves stripes. Horizontal stripes and since she's thin she can get away with it. Large boat necklines are fun for her, she loves anything off the shoulders. The colors of Meg's clothes vary all through out the spectrum but she always has the main tones be neutrals, colors are more accents to the outfit. She loves sweaters and scarves. She adores big comfy shawls to keep warm. Her clothing is her own.

OVERALL PERSONALITY:
Where to start with Margaret? Well, I supposed it should start with the fact that she would not want me to call her Margaret. To her, that name is the name of an old woman whose best days she wasted away sitting shot gun to her own life allowing her husband to take the wheel. No, Margaret goes be Meg, she'll allow Maggie but prefers Meg. And the girl is something. She is overall, friendly. She usually makes a few friends fairly quickly although as a kid she befriended more and tended to be very much a pre-queen bee, but as she got older and things in her life changed, so did she. Its not that she's mean or rude to people she just met, it's more, she just doesn't mind if everyone isn't in love with her. Once you are friends with Meg, it's easy to see she has a zest for life. She is not one to waste her time being depressed or sad, she might get pissed but she feels anger as an emotion has a purpose, while sadness just gets in the way, you can't harness it like you can with anger. Point is, she's outgoing. She's never one to waste a day. If she's not working rein fair she wants to go out and explore, do something. And she'll bring you along for it too. She's vivacious and fun and never seems to fear living life, which is probably her greatest performance ever.
Why do I say performance? Easy. She's terrified of life, how so? Ill explain later but why did I bother to make the performance reference? Because she is to be an actress. Meg will be on the screen one day, it was one of the pluses of finding out her father lived in California. It's one of the reasons she loves the Rein fair so much, because she can practice her acting skills. The thing is, nothing will stop her from trying to be an actress. And the same holds true in multiple area's of her life. Once she has her eye set on something, she's not one to give up. She's not afraid of failure. If she loses an audition, she will try again the next year, and again, etc. She is determined and thats good if she wants to be in Hollywood since we all know there is going to be plenty of rejectment before hits it big. The thing it, this also makes her fairly stubborn and at times she can seem a tad self absorbed or inconsiderate. Take a look at how she got to the United States. She wanted to, her brother didn't, so she said she would go with or without him knowing full well he only really felt comfortable with her and would be forced to follow simply because he's scared to lose her. She used his attachment to her to get where she wanted to go and that's one of her biggest downfalls. She is determined to the point of being accidently uncaring, inconsiderate and manipulative.
The key is that if she was conscious of how her actions made others feel, which she usually doesn't until afterwards, she wouldn't do it. She has a warm heart and always the best intentions but you know what they say, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Hitler thought he was doing the world good for god's sake. This just means she spends a lot of the time apologizing to people. But they need to call her out on it because seriously, she's so focused on whatever her goal is that she can't notice it. Some one needs to slap her and go "HEY, you're being a bitch!" in order for her to get it. She'll then get a wave of guilt, hang her head and make her way to whomever and apologize sincerely. The good heart also reaches out to her family values. To Meg, family is important. Whether it be blood or deep friendship. She grew her first few years with a loving family to have it ripped from her to go to home where she spent her time longing for attention from those she considered family but were really her prison guards. And yet, after being reunited with Derek she realized family was all she wanted. And that's why it's so important for her to meet their birth parents. Her and Derek are very close. They do the Rein Fair together, they do most everything together and she is the protector. Derek gets teased a bit and she brings out the claws. She's untrusting in general but when it comes to Derek, don't even bother. She's the lioness for that boy. She's convinced he needs her to be like this, so is he for that matter.
Meg says she want's what's best for Derek but than babies him. The truth is she would be lost without him to protect. When you meet the twins it seems like Derek is dependent on Meg who's the strong one but truth is, Meg needs him just as much, if not more. She feels strong when protecting him and forgets or doesn't realize that he protected himself before she and him were reunited and survived. He thinks he needs her as a crutch but he doesn't. She needs him. Meg's so angry at herself for being so scared and weak willed when she was younger that to feel strong, she needs him to be weak and need her. That's also a driving force in why she gets so determined and ambitious. She lived for an entire year completely under the thumb of a deranged father figure being threatened and so scared that she didn't tell anyone about the Hickhams plans for her. She basically gave them permission to let their 17 year old boy force himself on her, or at least that's the way she sees it. It was her fault because she was weak. So no longer is she weak. She wants something she goes for it, someone she loves gets hurt, she protects even when she shouldn't. It's the best she can do without feeling pathetic.

HISTORY:
Is it ever fair when children are forced to separate from their parents? Shawn and Rachel Anderson were married once upon a time. Shawn was a doctor and his wife? She was, for lack of a better term, a bitch. She was superficial and crazy on some levels. Now some 18 years ago, before their modelesque daughter Shay was born, Rachel gave birth to two children, fraternal twins, a boy and a girl. The first one to come out was the girl. Rachel looked at the baby girl and smiled at the crystal blue eyes and the little tuff of dark dark hair. But less then ten minutes later she was pushing out the boy. They cleaned him up and she got a good look at the baby boy. Dark hair like his sister, light eyes although his were slightly darker than his twins but while her baby girl was cute for a new born, this baby boy just looked... alien. He was pale and with a long face compared to most babies. He had large ears and just... he didn't look the way Rachel wanted and therefore he wasn't acceptable.
Now what kind of mother can look at a healthy new born son and be scornful? I am not quite sure but this boy didn't fit her standards and he was not wanted. And he was ugly. Rachel wasn't a quite sensical woman so after she turned away from her son she looked to her girl whom he had shared the womb with for nine months and then decided the girl must have been corrupted in some sense of the word. She decided that these children weren't her's. She wouldn't have them. Her husband, and the twins father didn't know what to do. He was just happy they were alive and healthy, to him his children were his children. He wanted to be with them but when his wife pushed and pushed and threw a fit, part of him gave up and part of him knew what it would be like in the house for these children with a woman like Rachel pitted against them. So there it went, he and Rachel signed the papers and off the newborns went with child services. It was time to find them different homes. Shawn did make sure to request that they be kept together. That way neither of them would be alone. And they were kept together.
At the age of five weeks the two still unnamed infants were adopted by Rebecca and Colin Stanwood. They were a British couple and while in America they adopted these two infants. Rebecca Stanwood said the selling factor was the large adorable ears on the baby boy. She thought they were adorable. Colin and Rebecca had to be two of the most loving people in the world and as soon as they saw these babies they knew they loved them. Rebecca named the boy Derek and Colin gave Derek the middle name of Oliver. Colin named the girl Margaret and Rebecca gave her the middle name of Cynthia. And that's how the two twins became Derek Oliver Stanwood and Margaret Cynthia Stanwood. They went back to England with their new parents and they both lived there happily for the first few years. The Stanwoods were fun and loving parents, and despite the rocky start, it looked as though things were going to turn out just fine for the twins.
But one winter, when the twins were 4 years old, tragedy struck them out of their blissful reality and took the lives of their parents in the form of a large car crash. The twins were both so young, neither quite understood what that meant for them. And since they were in England, Shawn Anderson's request no longer really made a difference. The twins were separated. They were both sent to an orphanage in London but within a day of being there, Meg was taken out, adopted by the Wickhams, which was a wealthy family living in Sussex. They already had a young son who was just a few years older than Meg. That was the last time the twins saw each other again for a very long time. In Sussex, Meg was set up to have the best of everything. The Wickhams' home was a mansion. It stood tall and wide with fields and courtyards all in their reach and the best part was the stables. Beautiful stables with beautiful horses. Everything there was what she wanted except for her brother. Now here's the thing. They were four when they separated. It only took about a year or two for both her and Derek to forget they even had a sibling, let alone a twin. Meg was given all new things, Derek was going through hell. They just forgot. They were children.
Now growing up with the Wickhams was no completely tragic life story. They never hid from her that she was adopted, in fact, they seemed to repeatedly remind her. They always had enough food for her, clothes, etc. She got the best schooling and everything and that was that. The family was not the warmest. She was like a million other privileged kids, with all the money in the world to play with but no one around to hang out with, no parents to console them when they hurt their knee. She was alone for the most part, but she was also a very likeable little girl. At her private school she rose to popularity quickly, after all she was a pretty, rich girl. She was the queen of her grade and it began to get to her little seven year old head, just like it does for ever queen bee in the making. She spent her time at the estate completely alone, apart from her horses and these stories she read in the books she became addicted to. She would read everything she could, any book, any tale, any play. She became very spirited and spunky. She could be a bit of a spoiled brat though, mostly for attention.
But on her Tenth birthday, she got attention and she didn't want it, her adoptive father brought her into the entrance hall and lead her through to their son's room, their birth son, and he told her that they were going to marry one day. Of course at ten she knew what that meant, they hadn't adopted her because they wanted a daughter. They adopted her because they wanted to make sure they would have a daughter-in-law and grandchildren even with a son like their's. She told them no flat out and her "dad-in-law" back handed her. He told her one day she would marry their son, she would give herself to him and then she would give him a grandson and a proper heir, or he would kill her before she had the chance to scream. She spent the next year terrified of the idea of that future, but more scared for her life. Her "dad" began to force her and their son Dennis to spend more and more time together. Dennis seemed to enjoy himself, he was also five years her senior btw. So 16 and an 11 year old at the time. She hated every moment but she was warned and threatened repeatedly with a few hard blows to the face every now and then. She took it. She kept her mouth shut. She was scared. When she was 12, on her birthday, her "dad" said she got to celebrate by becoming a woman and making his son a man. He locked her in a room and the now 17 year old had his first girl, a 12 year old terrified of dying.
But that experience was enough to shake her out of the fear of death and into the fear of a life like this. She ran, she ran and went straight for the police the day after, had plenty of physical evidence and the man and his son were both arrested. She promised herself she would never be that scared again. She blamed herself for the rape, saying she let it happen by not going to the authorities right away. She was angry at herself for not being stronger and more brave. The only things she took of her things from that place were the clothes she wore, which she soon got rid of, and her books. The stories had done nothing but teach her to be brave. She was then sent to a large group home in Sevenoaks Weald, which is a very small village in Northern England. It worked a lot like farm, there were kids everywhere, the people in charge were kind, the kids were the orphans that had been labeled "hard to place" do to their pasts. Plus most of them were seven or up, which made them even harder to place because everyone wants an infant. Meg was as nice as she could handle but really she was no longer a fan of that attention boys would give her. She was still spirited, and defensive. She became very on guard. But she was still alone and that was when she met a boy her age named Derek. Derek had been there a few years already. He was adorable, black hair like hers, blue eyes and these ears that stuck out slightly. He was teased by most of the other kids and as they got closer, having this unexplainable bond, she got tougher.
Meg became Derek's protector. It became her role. She would defend him against the other kids, she took to protecting him like a mother lioness took to protecting her cubs. They're strange and seemingly random closeness may have helped Derek in life but with the other kids not so much. One of the other boys in the home thought Derek liked Meg((So not the case)) and then beat the skinny boy up for it. Yeah, this girl wasn't happy about that. But seriously, the two were so different and another strange thing about the two, despite that Derek was slightly gangly and awkward and she was stunning, they looked a bit alike. Both had light blue eyes, and both had dark raven hair and pale skin. They both even had a similar birthmark on their lower back that sort of looked like a dragon shape if you squinted. One of the women who worked at the home and who watched them together decided to get curious and began to dig through both children's records. One month and a lot of phone calls later they had the answer, they were brother and sister but more than that, they were twins! Needless to say it came as a shock to everyone. No one really knew what to think about it but the twins just seemed so perfectly content with each other. I think they were just happy to know they had family out there. Meg had been schooled her whole life but Derek, not him. When this home gave him tutors though, lord he caught on fast. She helped him study and he caught up very quickly in every area and excelled in History except for one thing, reading. He had a hard time reading and it nearly broke his heart because, like Meg, he had gained a love of tales. She asked them to get him checked about and they soon found out that her brother had dyslexia and had had it for some time without anyone noticing.
When the two turned 16, they got a job together working at a local Renaissance fair. Both loved it. Derek had never felt more at home than he did while pretending to live in 1400s. He wasn't one to play nobility though, he always found the peasant, servant, blacksmith, etc to far more interesting. Meg on the other hand like any role where she got to receive a fair amount of attention. She soon became aware that for a career in life, she wanted to be an actress. God the stage, the lights, the glamour, the thrill of pretending to be someone else. Acting was a way to live out those stories she loved and was comforted by. She learned she had never felt more alive than she did while acting. But they were in a small town in England, not much of a chance right? Yeah well, it didn't stop her from entering every play their schools put on, nor any chance she had to perform at the Rein fair more than the usual you know? When the twins turned 18 they were free to leave, Derek was sort of lost. But Meg knew what she wanted to do and that was find their real parents. It always nawed at her a bit you know? She wanted to at least see them, meet them. Figure out why they decided not to keep them and why they let them split her and Derek up. Derek fought it, He didn't want to go. He was scared. blah blah blah. Meg knew she was going to find her parents and she knew that if she went, Derek would follow. So she went to the orphanage and got their records released, tracked to London where they were able to recover their birth certificates and they learned the biggest shock of their lives.
They were American. Both born in the U.S. of A. Ah! After a bit more research, Meg knew where they were going. They were going to Valkyrie, California, USA. There was a Rein fair there, they faxed their profiles and would be welcomed there. Her and Derek pooled their savings and flew across the world. She needed to at least meet shawn and rachel anderson.
