character facts ,
full name: finnegan shane turner
nickname: finn
gender: male
age: twentyuniversity year:dropped out of high school
job: worker at oceanside motel & worker at rent-a-board surf shack.
portrayed by: cam gigandet
appearance: finn stands at an average six feet tall with dirty blonde hair and aqua blue eyes. so yes, by that general description alone, he sounds like any other California boy from Valkyrie. take a closer look and you'll see the rugged, crazy, tough exterior and maybe you'll go in a different direction because it doesn't look like there is a 'good side' to him at all. his presence is quite startling and rough to look at, but come on, can we not not want to stare? The boy is a surfer here, so walking around without a shirt on is more common that seeing him with a shirt on. finn's very fit. he's got the muscles, he has the abs, and he sure likes showing them off when he can. he likes to fight, he has habits of getting into them, and he wouldn't be tough he he hasn't had a few wins [and loses] under his belt. speaking of not wearing clothes, when he does where clothes, he's pretty neutral. solid colored shirts and jeans are the way to go for finn. there are the occasional surfing shorts and wife beaters, but he never goes over the top. when he's not on the beach, usually, he's been in prison, so the whole jumpsuit thing is quite common for him too. he's a horrible dresser, if it looks clean, smells clean, he'll wear it, even if it's been on the floor for the past week. as long as it's fit and it's comfortable, he'll wear it.
finn's voice is heavily accented with his Irish roots. this, he refused to change when he moved to california. yeah, his sister's might not be as strong as it use to, and reed's is very faint itself these days, but finn thinks everything is about where you came from, and he is a very proud irishman. what's the common stereotype? that they are all a bunch of drunken brawlers? yeah well, sometimes all finn wants to do is get drunk and hit someone. besides his irish accent, his voice has a very sarcastic underlining cockiness to it most of the time, like he already knows everything about you without talking to you. or, that he is just so sadly bored with you, he's talking to you out of pity. lastly, since i absolutely suck on appearances, his tattoos. finn was 17 when he got his first tattoo, the one on his left hip. one night he went in and got this elaborate design on his hip and with the words 'godspeed' across it because, his job was crime, what do you need when your about to get busted? the speed of god of course. it was a constant reminder that if he was in a situation where he needed to get out somewhere fast, that he was run with his 'godspeed'. of course, this didn't work all the time seeing as he wouldn't have wound up in prison twice. his other tattoo is a red tribal symbol with a black dragon going around his upper arm. it's quite big and he got it before he went to prison for a year, for the courage and strength he was going to need before the long twelve months.

character personality ,
personality:
slacker - he dropped out of high school, has never finished what he started. thus, making him a big slacker. he quit numerous jobs because he said he can't work for idiots. he's really lazy when he's told to do something, doing it at the last possible second. his parents don't put up with it and working at the hotel is the one thing he doesn't slack at because of his parents.
dirty - well not hygiene dirty. though, he doesn't care much for his personal appearance, and oddly enough he actually wakes up and looks that good. personal hygiene on the other hand is something he does. not to smell clean and look pretty because for the past eighteen months he's been showering with cold water for ten minutes a day, so he showers just to be clean. but the showering is the last thing of the day he does. so wearing shirts with mud stains is common for him. he's mostly 'dirty' in the sense that he's walking down the street and you and your mother are walking towards him, and when you pass him, your mom goes, 'he's a dirtball, stay away from him.' people don't think highly of him. finn has horrible manners, [you know where bevin got them from] he burps, he spills stuff, and lives in a messy room.
rude - ah, the boy with no filter. he speaks his mind and has no regrets on anything he says, so don't expect an apology if you get offended. he doesn't treat people with respect because, they never give him any. finn is rarely nice to anyone, he talks to you as if you already think the worst of him. his social outlook on people sucks a lot, but that somehow hasn't stopped him from gaining friends. finnegan is just a real mean person. he's very negative, so beware.
jealous - ah yes, he became such a bitter jealous soul back in ireland when he was always in competition with riley. it only grew stronger when the comparing started. finn gets jealous really easily. when he's compared to someone. he always feels he can be better than that person in someway. with girls, considering his amount of trouble and prison time he's been in, he doesn't do relationships as much. he had a few girlfriends in high school though and when the other guys put moves in on them, well, let's just say the only thing those guys woke up to was a black eye, among other injuries.
angry- finn is always angry. you know some days when all you want to do is punch someone? finn feels like that all day every day. he's very uptight and keeps too many emotions bottled up at one time. it isn't good for someone to have so much built up inside him, but finn does. a lot of it is released when he gets in fights, which have been happened frequently since his return to valkyrie.

dislikes: prison, high school, his cousins, following the rules, authority figures, permanent records, sports, rich kids, rejection, being compared to someone else, losing, getting caught, hardcore drugs like heroin and meth, feeling inferior
flaws: he's inconsiderate to other's feelings, his behavior is impulsive, always in the right place at the wrong time, has no self control, angry drunk, gets jealous easily

character history ,
originated from: dublin, ireland[/size]
parents: brady turner, father, forty
cathleen o’grady, mother, thirty nine
siblings: bevin turner, sister, sixteen
other: riley turner, cousin, twenty-one
reed turner, cousin, eighteen
regan turner, cousin, sixteen
living situation: oceanside motel
history: Cathleen and Brady grew up together. The O'Gradys and the Turners were family friends for years and years. Brady, the younger brother to Seamus, [as we all know is the father of three other Turner boys] Brady was always more...likeable. He wasn't short in his temper and he was a likeable guy through out highschool with a love for soccer and business. Cathleen was a firery young woman who was outgoing and very opinioniated. At get-togethers, the adults would say how cute Cathleen and Brady would be together and how many darling children they would have. This started when they were teenagers and lasted all the way up until they started college together. They were already extremely close friends and with the constant nagging by their family members, Brady asked her out on a date. They clicked on a romantic level instantly. After they really started dating, they became inseperable. They were always seen holding hands and their friends were jealous of the way they both looked at each other.
cathleen and brady were never one of those couples that needed a piece of paper that proved they loved each other. no, they never got married. when brady's brother and his wife were going to have riley, only a short five months later, cathleen discovered she was pregnant. though their parents thought it might be better if they got married for the baby, the two were still happily content in their relationship and didn't think being married had anything to do with raising a child. finnegan shane turner was bored eight months later on a rainy day in dublin. his parents were young, nineteen and twenty. this was going to be a true testament of their relationship. yet they proved everyone wrong and raised finn. cahtleen and brady did decide however to wait a while before they decided to have another kid. however, when finn was four, cahtleen was pregnant again. it was unplanned yes, but did they regret it? no, of course not. cathleen went to have a baby girl, bevin talullah. now their perfect little family was complete.
they never planned on leaving dublin ever. both finn and bevin got along great with their cousins, commonly known as the turner brothers. finn loved his sister, but he was always just a tad jealous at how close riley, reed, and regan were and how much those three always had each other's back. finn wasn't socially awkward but growing up he was on the shyer side that versus his eccentric sister, left him out of the loop when she would go galavant around with the turner brothers while finn was always left behind. he was in the same grade as riley, and at a young age already felt inferior to him. riley was super smart. finn, was 'average.' average as in, 'you're great in the grade you're in but your cousin here is quite gifted.' getting told he was never as good as riley, definitely put a grudge up against him that still burns between the boys to this day.
to say the least, finn was excited when his cousins were moving to the united states, but the horror ensued on his face on the discovery when not long after, his parents were leaving to the States too. bevin was excited and took adjustment to california quite nicely. finn on the other hand, hated leaving ireland. this was suppose to be his home for what he planned to be for the rest of his life. finn took moving to america really hard. this was when he started to change. he was sixteen and all he knew was ireland. getting new friends and starting a new life was tough on the boy. truth be told, he fell into the wrong crowd and was soon categorized as 'that kind of boy.' while his parents were running a motel, finn divided his time learning to surf [not by his cousins as bevin was] and learning to steal cars and deal drugs.
at school, it wasn't much better. between the two turner boys, there was a clear difference between the 'good turner boy' and the 'bad turner boy' which one was finn? you guessed it. while the golden boy was off with all the popular cheerleaders, going out for a sport every season, while maintaining his grades, finn was the polar opposite. he lived in the detention room, got high underneath the bleachers at football games, and stole cars at night. not really screaming 'college; anytime soon, finn fell into a bad place and has never fully gotten out of it. he was seventeen, the summer before his senior year that he went to juvie for drug paraphernalia. since it was his first offense and didn't have anything else on this record of his, he was only sentenced to two months in juvenile jail. he would like to say he'd learn something those two months, but he didn't. and they all say one you g to jail you are twice as likely to go right back to jail. he was released in August, with a welcoming committee of his sister. his parents were still furious at him, naturally, but they continued to let him stay in the hotel. it wasn't long in the beginning of the school year that he was getting into trouble. suspension for smoking on campus gave him a week, causing a scene in another class was another week. he was so sick of constantly hearing, 'why can't you be more like riley,' 'your cousin never did this.' he was eventually getting so pissed at riley for being so perfect in everyone's eyes, he had to do something.
it was a simple way for him to get back at his cousin, almost taking all his anger out on him. finn started talking with riley's then-girlfriend. her name was lauren and she was very good-looking girl. so, they got to talking and eventually just started hooking up, at her house. now what kind of girl would cheat on riley was stupid. but, right when the two were going at it who conveniently walks in to take his girlfriend to the movies? riley. the ultimate betrayal of the turners. when riley tried to fight with finn, the football player didn't fend well against the criminal, and finn got his ultimate satisfactory against riley. a riff between the turner brothers and the finn was set in place. no more than a few months later, finn dropped out of school. it was probably the worse mistake of his life. things for him never got better after that. without a high school education, he wasn't getting very far. he did odd jobs. worked at a string of fast food joints, and cashier at stores. he was fired from every single one of them. he always had a fall back though. as much as his parents were disappointed in their only son, they wouldn't ever throw him out of the motel, or disown him so they allowed him to work around the hotel. making breakfasts, cleaning rooms, some other mechanical things. finn eventually held down a stable job at the surfboard shack on the beach where people could check surfboards out for the day. it wasn't long before the shack soon fronted as his drug dealing business.
a few weeks after dropping out of highschool, he was picked up for drug paraphernalia again. due to his previous juvie stays and growing record, he was sentenced for three months. this was his first major offense. his parents were heartbroken, and bevin was sad. finn though, just thought it was three months and he'd be getting out by spring time. the first month of jail was tough. but soon he fell with a wrong crowd in prison and was learning tricks of the trade and different tips. he knew that even if he was getting out soon, he'd be back for another offense. he'd been screwing up since he was fourteen, why would this mere three months change him? graduation for his senior class came around and finn was released. his parents and sister forced him to go to his peers graduation to show him what he could have been. somehow, it just did not phase him. he didn't regret anything. what was the worst was that he was forced to go to riley's graduation party. the tension was there and finn just sat there and got publicly drunk. his parents hoped the days taught him a lesson. it did. he learned he didn't need some diploma to prove he could achieve greatness.
proving that he was always in the wrong place at the right time, finn and some of his friends were stealing cars one night when he was nineteen. it had been a few months after being released from jail and the graduation party. finn hijacked a nice mercedes and as he was driving to the shop he always delivered cars to. well, the police started following him and when they pulled the sirens, finn knew he was in a bunch of shit, so he didn't pull over, ensuing a chase. stupid finn ran through a red light and someone crashed into him. totaling the mercedes. no one was hurt. finn just had a concussion and the one that hit him walked away unscratched. he went to the hospital where in front of his parents and sister, finn was arrested for the crime of stealing the car and reckless driving. the only thing that was handed to him was that he wasn't under the influence and smoked his last bag of weed a week ago, so his drug test came back negative. for his charges he was sentenced to eighteen months in prison which is a year and a half. again, the nineteen year old did not care he was going away for a long time.
he was in prison located about a hour and a half away from valkyrie. even if it wasn't that far, his family didn't visit as often. it was hard for his parents since they ran a 24/7 motel, but they tried. a year and a half is a long time. did he change? you bet. for the better? no way. finn got darker, bitter, and was flirting with insanity for the first six months. those three walls and the bars were definitely getting to him. he made 'friends' in prison, or the core group that he ate lunch with and hung out with on their free time. the group consisted of a couple gang bangers from los angeles, a drug dealer from san diego, and another car theft thief from san francisco. they all had different time they were in here for. finn wouldn't say they became 'brothers' or any of the sort, but they made prison life for each other interesting. what else can you say about prison besides it sucked and eighteen months couldn't have ended sooner?
finn was just released a week ago. where his parents and bevin were there to bring him home. adjusting back to civilian life was easy, he felt like he never left. he's working two jobs. working at his parents' motel like he did before he left. cleaning, fixing, cooking. but most of his afternoons are spent on the beach in the rent-a-board surfer shack where he picks up the ladies and offers surfing lessons to them in the back room. even though he has a probation officer, he's been laying off on the drugs for the drug tests he has to take when he goes in, and since he's shy of his twenty first birthday by four months, he still has to make sure he's sober when he goes in. finn is trying to figure out life, because people keep telling him he's wasting his. he's a drop out, been to prison twice, and has no idea what he's going to do with the rest of his life.
