Appearance:
"The beautiful classic blonde" are some words that have been used to describe Rosalyn before. Her pride likes to let her think that is correct. At least the classic and blonde part. She likes to think her look is an old fashioned one. She had thick blonde hair that falls in smooth layers down just past her shoulders. Naturally the strands of blonde all vary in shade quite nicely. Her locks have a slight curl to them, whether she wears the curl or not is dependent on the feel of the day, the occasion and the style called for. Her clothing varies from new to old, from clothes purchased at Charlotte Rouse to Target to old antique shops and novelty stores.
Rosalyn has fairly large blue eyes, making her look more and more like her father as Haley looks much like Haley's own mother. Rosalyn shares the light hair bright blue eyes and the slight freckles that are faintly present on her cheeks with her father. As well as the creamy complexion haley shares as well. She has an average nose, she's not the type to ever get work done, her looks a purely natural, but she is not a fan of her nose. Her lips are a soft pink color. They aren't large plump Angelina lips but the aren't paper thin lips either.
She is tall compared to many girls around Valkyrie reaching 5'8." The height just adds to her slender figure. She isn't one of those girls with the speedy metabolisms that prevent them from gaining a pound even if they eat like a pig. She takes care to eat healthy and exercise a lot. She keeps in great shape, a good deal of muscle, great stamina. She can run for hours on end, her dancing keeping her very athletic.
Personality:
just call her a modern Elizabeth Bennett:
The first time you meet the girl known as Rosalyn, she may be a bit cold shoulders. She's a rather private person and tends to have a few close friends as opposed to multiple average friends. And this is the way she likes it. She doesn't like to have a bunch of multiple useless friends. Alone time is some of her favorite time. She can be reserved. She knows how to be mannerly and she keeps her mouth politely shut most of the time but if asked her opinion she will speak and speak what she truly thinks, and no matter how politely or properly she states it, the sentiment is always a harsh one, and judgmental. That's one thing she doesn't pride herself on is that she is a judgmental girl. She is not the biggest fan of those who slack off in their school work, she hates pot heads and druggies.
She is also scared of the sexually explicit. In her dancing she allows sexy dancing but she draws a line. She is the girl who feels uncomfortable when the sex scene in the action movie makes it way onto the screen, not that she's the type to watch a lot action movies. She is the fan of historical fiction and period pieces. Things that make you think. But in general she's much more of a reader than a movie goer. Anyways back to the point. She has had sex before, a few times but she hasn't ever really enjoyed it. It never felt good since she would get so scared. You know how some girls say other girls have cockphobia? yeah well Rosalyn does, not that she'll ever admit it. She'll just blame it on the guy saying she just doesn't want to have sex with him. She isn't a tease, she doesn't lead people on and then cut them off. When she does date, she tends to go for older men and they never last long and she just has big commitment and sex issues.
To be honest what turns her on the most is dancing. A whole new girl comes out when she hits the dance floor. She looses the stick up her ass and most of her reservations. She'll let her dance partners hands rome with the music as long as she felt it was part of the dancing, not a guy getting a cheap feel and yes, you can tell the difference. There are still moments where she will push the guy away if his hands get too friendly on the dance floor but its rare. On the dance floor she's the same confident girl but it's a bit more self assured pride than stubborn defensive pride that it tends to be in other moments. She has a passion for latin dancing the most. She really wants to go to Cuba and Puerto Rico to go to some of the clubs there. On the dance floor, two bodies movie against each other, messy hair, steam, hands and bodies so perfectly against the music, now that's sex.
It takes a lot to change this girls mind. She is stubborn as all hell and very prideful. It's all part of her guard I suppose but she feels her stubbornness is only because she's right most of the time, the pride coming in right there. But she's not all bad. She is not just this girl who's scared of sex and prideful and stubborn. She's a great dancer yes but she's also a good hearted person. She cares about people, or at least the people who she deems worthy, and those tend to be the needier people, the kids who are picked on and teased in school((although I doubt she'll any tolerance for Wilber)). And among her friends she tends to be the softer spoken. She's usually friends with the highly intelligent bitchy girls who will pretty much bitch people around for her. She tends to look like the nice on when next to them. But spotlight is never on her. And she says she doesn't want it to be but again, back to dancing, when the music starts playing, and her feet touch the floor she feels like she's in her own world devoted to this physical sensation, like flying.

History:
Daniel Summers was from a well to do family, he was a lawyer, still is, but he had a case that was going on primarily over seas so off to England he went, flying to london, leaving behind his wife who was busy attempting to start up a magazine. In London, after an exhausting trial lasting three months, he went out for a drink with a few people on his team. They had won, it wasn't for nothing and with the buzz of alcohol in his system, Mr. Summers became rather ... well he became rather horny. And seeing as he was straight and his team was made up of only men and he was only tipsy, he went down into the darker parts of london and drove around in has fancy sports car until he came across a dark haired woman wearing knee high boots and fishnet, a red miniskirt and a black halter. A hooker. He paid her out for night and that was that, or so he thought.
Nine months later, a common street whore in London named felicity conners gave birth to a beautiful baby girl with blond hair which was strange seeing as felicity was a dark haired woman. She decided since the only blonde man she remembered was about nine months ago she would put Daniel Summers has the father. Pretty much she guessed. She named the baby girl Rosalyn, after a deceased friends who was killed by her pimp. She took the girl to her tiny apartment and did her best to raise her. When she had business, one of her friends would baby sit. Basically she was being raised by hookers in london, humble upbringings for a girl so prideful hmm?
Most of those years are a blur for her, like many people she can't remember her younger years very well, only a few moments stick out to her. She remembers watching her mother do a line of cocaine after getting home on the job and the yelling that was followed by her passing out on the floor, blood dripping from her left nostril. The other event she remembers was actually a conversation with her mother's roommate Marilyn. Rosalyn, or Rosie as she was called back then, was about 6 and half and Marilyn came in and sat down next to her. She told Rosalyn that, and remember she's talking about this with a 6 year old, the way you can tell a good guy from a back guy is when he pays you does he look you in the eye. She says that a good man is the one who knows it's shameful and therefore avoids eye contact. The ones that grasp what they're doing and don't care, those are the real assholes. Rose then turned to her mother and asked what her father did, this being the first time Rose remembers caring about who her father was. Her mother looked at her and said in a very dreamy voice that he looked her in the eyes all night, and made him think he actually cared, but she saw the wedding ring and the fact he was unashamed meant he was a gentle man but a corrupt one and that she should never mention him again.
And Rose didn't mention him, at least not for sometime. When rose was seven the biggest threat of being a hooker's mother came through and was no longer a threat but a reality. A man came looking for her mother, he was a regular of her mothers and had gotten into a fight with his wife so he came to "get out some aggression". Or at least that's how he put it. Rose was home alone at that point since seven year olds can cope being alone for five hours (sarcasm). And when she told him her mother wasn't here he came in and told her would have to so. The seven year old lost her virginity that night. And she changed. Her mother got home to find her in the corner crying, a few twenties laid out on the bed for payment of the molestation, as if it would cover it. She was outraged and swore, no matter how desperate for the cash she got she would never do business with him, which was sweet in a way but why didn't she go to the police?
Felicity decided that night that this had a chance of happening again and seeing how quiet the once friendly girl became, that it would be best to send young Rosalyn away. Felicity had a cousin in America, in maine, she was a waitress and lived in this small but charming house. So after a few of the girls pulled their money they shipped Rosalyn off to America. This was the last time Rosalyn ever saw her mother or the other women who helped raise her thus far but the most important parts of her life, the things that truly were going to shape who she became, was yet to come, in Maine.
Stepping off the plane and into main carrying a backpack of the few items that were hers and hers alone was terrifying. Inside the bag was some string, a hand knitted scarf, a few old books like Wind in the Willows((yes she was very bright at a very young age)), and a stuffed animal, a panda bear that was run down pretty well. Her aunt picked her up in an old red pick up truck. It was the first time either had met, but from the beginning to two tended to Mesh well. Rosalyn was so quiet and self sufficient for her age, other than an occasional glance over to make sure she's not getting kidnapped, she was really a hands off job. She ate her vegetables with out being told. Went to bed at a reasonable time, did her homework first thing. She was a parents dream kid. But her aunt was still worried, so she did make an effort. She knew from Rosalyn's tendency to scour the house for anything to read, that the girl was a reader so she showed her the way to walk to the library. They lived in a small house but it was a very safe neighborhood.
Rosalyn took advantage of the public library just a few blocks over. She went when she had time and took out book after book. About a half a mile away was this gorgeous big old house that a very wealthy family lived in and had a large orchard as their back yard. The family that lived there was home to Rosalyn's first real friend. Her name was Crystal and she was a very nice girl, second in the class, Rosalyn was first. But still no one but her aunt was allowed to call her Rose, and no one in the world could call her Rosie since she was attacked. Crystal's family found the quiet polite girl Rosalyn as a sweetheart and allowed her free access to the Orchard anytime she pleases. She spent years outdoors in that orchard and along Maine's country side. Maine was beautiful, especially in fall and summer. But most of the time, Rosalyn's time was still spent alone, quiet and with her head in a book from the library.
Her aunt was still worried about her, and how anti-social she was. So she decided she would sign her up for some after school activity that would encourage her to meet people. dance was something every young girl liked to do right? So she put her in a ballroom class after school. Rose was about ten. The young girl did love it. It was a class that only taught waltz and jitterbug, swing dancing rather rated G dancing. But she still loved it because she was still uncomfortable with people touching her much. She kept dancing for the next four years and to her aunt's dismay she didn't become much more social but she did seem happier, especially when dancing. When she was 14, she applied for a dancing school in LA and for a scholarship. And thanks to her top of the class grades and video sent of her dancing the waltz at such a young age she was accepted. She said a sad goodbye to her aunt and crystal and then left for LA
In the school, despite her being one of the very few poor girls there, she fit in well. Quiet and polite gave you the appearance of social class and wealth apparently, this was the wealthy side of Las Angelus. And as much as she fit in, the dancing was all the same to her. She got bored with the same types of thing. She felt like something was missing from her life. Until she went to a Latin dance club and saw the dancing there. She fell in love with it. She fell in love with dancing there, learning from multiple locals who were willing. She loved the feel of hands on her body as long as it went with the music, being touched was incredible. She had no reservations on where the men's hands went while they were dancing, that was until one of the men who she danced with followed her home. He attempted to rape her but when one of her friends realized what was happening she started banging on the door to get in, while the man was distracted Rose kicked him as hard as she could in between his legs and she was in stilettos seeing as she had just been dancing.
After that night, she still went to the clubs, she had fallen in love with the dancing, it was the only place she felt free of fear. But she drew a few lines and could tell when a dancing partner was touching her to feel the music or to feel a young girl's body, there was a talent level in the partner. If they're hands aren't flowing with the music as well, it's no longer sexy dancing but groping. rose in general was just scared of sex. She stayed away from dating men. She was fine with male friends, especially gay ones but would hardly dated. Study, dance and read. That's all she wanted to do. School wise the school was great. She actually got to travel the country and compete in ballroom competitions and she was very successful. She received awards, grants, trophies. She lost many too though, win some lose some right?
Soon she got a letter from her aunt who was very ill. She had to take a train back to Maine, which she had to admit she missed the country side greatly. She just was going to miss the dancing as well. She took a job as a waitress and did her school work and her dancing whenever she could, although with how busy she was and the fact she was in Maine, most of her dancing was done as she vacuumed the living room. But her aunt kept getting worse, which scared Rosalyn, she wasn't happy about the thought of life without her aunt who had been more of mother than her mother. One night her aunt told her the doctors gave her a month tops and that was stretching it but she wouldn't be going back to her mother. When Rose asked why she learned that her mother had died a year before from Syphilis she hadn't had the money to get treated so it ate away at her brain. Her aunt told her that Rose would be going to live with her father. Rose knew who they said was her father might not actually be him. And of course, when her aunt quietly contacted Mr. Summers he denied it and then admitted to the sex but needed a blood test before he took care of anyone. It was a positive.
Rose was needless to say shocked that her father was the extremely wealthy lawyer and his wife the elite wife of the country, the chief editor of a high fashion magazine and the idea she was going to stay with them filled her with dread. Not so much dread as it filled Mrs. Summers with. She had known her husband had been with a few hookers but the idea of the daughter of a whore living in her house, even if she was hardly there disgusted her. But after her aunts funeral, away she went to Valkyrie. She had been in Valkyrie for about a week, most of which she stayed inside the huge house. She learned that she and Haley, her sister, were not to get along seeing as Haley was this ex-elite, slutty, 'dark' girl or what not. No self respect and that meant Rose couldn't respect her. At least she wasn't the only new on to the house. Danny Summers her cousin apparently had just moved in. Although, he wasn't the type she could get along with either. He and Haley were close though. And when the parents were in the house, her real father didn't look her in the eye and her father's wife simply ignored her completely. So she was alone again, that's alright. She preferred it, she just needed to find a place to dance and feel free again, instead of imprisoned.
