full name:andromeda ainsley wallace miss andromeda definitely has what you would call a unique looking face. there's not an exact shape name that could describe it best. it's definitely not round or heart shaped. it might be oval, if it weren't for her sharp, jutting little chin. it's probably safe to blame it on unique bone structure. andie's face might be prettier - because it is pretty, you have to give her that - if it didn't have such a fierce quality about it. most of this originates from her positively feline-esque gray eyes; sharp, piercing, and with that prismatic shape. you wouldn't really expect a person with as many insecurities as andromeda has do manage to look so bold and often emitting either 'i know what i got' or 'there isn't a tomorrow, so let's have funnn' type of aura. however, in 'dromeda's book, insecurities are a taboo. we can't let them show now, can we? so some of it is a bit staged. moving down from the lioness eyes, we come to andromeda's nose, which is sort of unique in itself, as well. it's probably what you could call a 'button nose' to an extent, but not exactly. it's got all those cutesy, delicate, almost 'snippity' type qualities about it. she's never really liked her nose. beneath her nose are her lips, which look a little cat like, as well. they're not as wide as most people's and the uppermost one has an emphasized valley at its middle. much of its feline appearance simply comes from the way she sets her mouth.. rawr. though she was miracuously blessed with the absence of really horrid acne for the most part, the skin on andromeda's chin has always been quite annoying. it is the most common site for those annoying clogged pores and an annoying, rashy little problem. overall, she's pretty satisfied with her face. but there's just a certain something about it that irritates her. she's never been able to put a finger on it. just something that seems to compress it somehow from the sides and make her seem a bit less attractive. oh, the mysteries of life.

appearance:OH WHAT A COUNTENANCE *
LET OUR HAIR DOWN * her hair has always been something andie has been proud of. it's strong and thick, though it by nature isn't quite as shine and doesn't have as much of that lustery sheen that so many girls' have. though, having never been one to obsess over physical flaws, it never bothered her much. really, who cares, right? it's sort of funny that her appearance is for the most part the only thing she acts a little more laid back about. anyway, her hair has always been plain, on the wavier side, yet relaxed, usually resting on her shoulders when she wasn't busy with something, pulled into a loose ponytail or flying appealingly in the wind when she was busy. growing up in greece, there's really not much chance you can't go without getting at least a little sun, and andie's hair reflects that. at first, when she was younger, it was more of a dirty blonde to almost brunette, but hours outside, soaking up intoxicating sun rays quickly bleached it quite blonde; though her roots are still muddy.
THE CURSE OF CURVES * there's a lot a talk about negative body image these days. and if you got to know andie wallace, like, really go to know her and see past her brave little front and into all her worries and insecurities, you would definitely expect her to be one of those girls who might look just fine and still really obsess over their flaws. you'd expect her to be completely lacking in confidence in the appearance department. but it's really not the case. her appearance is really one of the only things andromeda has ever really felt confident about. because she does have a nice body, even if she doesn't meet the common height criteria. 'dromeda has always been on the short side, standing only five feet and five and half inches off the ground. her legs do make up most of her frame, though, so this often makes her look taller than she actually is. she's never been one of those stick figure girls, even in her early childhood. she's always had some meat on her bones and she was the first of the girls she was surrounded by to develop; receive curves and boobs. it did make her feel a little alienated for a while until she realized that guys liked the things on her chest. so that made her feel better and was the start of her reliance on her sexuality. and her boobs were always a bit larger than average, so it did get a little frustrating when she was trying to be taken very seriously. andie, unlike so many other girls, has never had much of a problem with her weight. she grew up on a healthy diet (mostly freshly grown food and fish) and working on a fishing boat did involve some physical activity. those hours working the nets also gave her some ropey muscles in her arms.
MOONBEAMS ON OUR SKIN * now, as abovementioned a couple of times, miss andie grew up in the sunny country of greece. the question might then arise as to why she isn't more bronzed. and the answer is that, quite tragically, she doesn't tan well. never has and more than probably never will. her father was, of course, a bronze greek dreamboat; but his genes in that area did not pass down to his only child. instead, andromeda received more of what her mother had to offer there. the scottish side of her family had possessed pale skinned genes back and back for forever. in fact, her unknown maternal great granddad was part albino, which might explain some of the other wallace hellions. andie does have a golden sort of tone to her skin, but not the tan that she would really like. overall, her skin hasn't exactly been the greatest in terms of health, either. it's always had flaky tendancies, which does not really compute with the whole greece scene, either. another wonderful trait her mother accidentally bestowed upon her.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

character personality ,
personality:PROMISCUOUS GIRL * andromeda wallace has been whispered about more than almost anyone back in her small greek hometown. why? because of all that was obviously going on with her and so many of the male population. she's been called a slut, a whore, and fast - by the old gossips of chariloas. and if you don't really get to know her, that's what she'll usually seem like. a fast, slutty whore. true, such behavior is a little gross and degrading. but really, it's not entirely her fault. er, well to an extent. there is that normal aspect of it, simply that she likes sex. but it also happens that growing up she hardly received any praise about anything. her schoolwork was always resoundingly average, and hell if her father had the energy or the desire to encourage her at all. and so some of it is just knowing that she is desirable, that plenty of guys find her worthy enough of anything, even if it is just for a nice little fuck. she just sort of relishes in that. she'll subconsciously flirt with.. uh, well, any male really, because she wants them to like her, to want her. in the company of human males, especially yummy ones, she's almost always flirting and angling herself into poses the emphasize her nice figure. given this, you'd probably assume andie is into one night stands and no string attached sex, though that's definitely not exactly true. she adores a romantic relationship atmosphere, but flings are usually the only relationships that really work out.
LITTLE INSECURITIES * everyone has felt insecure at some point about something. for many people in this media obsessed world, it's been something to do with their appearance; their weight, their hair, what have you. it's so easy to find little things about your appearance to obsess over. andie has always felt excessivly insecure about a whole hell of a lot of things, but as abovementioned several times, it's hardly ever been the things she can't change about her looks. instead it's what seems like everything else. she's never been the sharpest knife in the drawer and lots of the kids she grew up with always seemed so much smarter than her. the teachers never found her noteworthy. her father never had anything nice to say to anyone except the gorgeous greek goddesses he hit on in the local pub on all his free nights. they were all practically planning her future. andie feels stupid offering any academic answer; sure she's got it wrong and that everyone will laugh at her. she's perpetually afraid of anyone who has a rich vocabulary. what she's sure she lacks in intelligence, she tries to make up in her toyed boy collection.
BOTTOM OF THE BLACKEST HOLE * it might not seem like it, but it's true. the main reason it's covered up is probably simply because she takes care to cover up the bad things; her numerous insecurities, the bad things that she's been dealing with it. andie likes to hide them. why? because they're unpleasant, of course and it's not the best to have them showing on the outside, yes? the truth is that by nature andromeda is more of a pessimistic person. she tends to focus more on the bad things than on the good. it really often seems impossible because, well just look at her. she can be the very epitome of confidence on the outside when she's concentrating on it. she's alwasy been one to believe the worst, simply because she knows life isn't the nicest thing that's happened to anyone. and anyway, if the bad things do happen, at least you have the satisfaction of being right. most of the time Andromeda is holding herself up, feeling on the happy side just because she's trying to get through things and getting too morbid will only waste too much energy. but then, when something bad happens, almost every single bad thing that's ever happened to her comes rushing back and the result is a miserable lethargy laced with tears that lasts for a while.
THE WICKED WITCH * normally, andie's a nice person. quite likable. unless she decides she's after your boyfriend. normally she's a decent person. she's got some morals, even if the skankyness can sometimes contradict that. beneath that, however, there is a person with a sense of decency and regard for the so called 'greater good.' however, there are also moments that aren't so normal. when she gets pissed off, all sense of morals is forgotten. in fact, pretty much everything is forgotten except trying to make everyone else suffer just for existing while she's angry. she transforms a bit, into what one can imagine she might have been like by default if she weren't insecure and maybe had gotten a better parenting job. or maybe it's a testament to the fact that she's insecure and didn't have the greatest parental figures in the world and it's just a release of any the misery she's been harboring since last getting pissed off. usually after she blows up on someone, she feels bad and tries to make it up to them. she's not the greatest at apologies though, so it doesn't usually work and she winds up feeling worse than she did before. when she's ticked, andromeda becomes suddenly talented at making people wish they had never been born. using what most would probably call dirty tactics, of course.
HALFHEARTED SWEETHEART * okay, so there's your average person, 'i won't act like i hate you' nice that people seem to expect out of everyone. and then there's your exponentially more caring people who actually give a fuck. generally speaking, andie's never really been either, but leaning towards the more caring side. if she weren't generally a more negative person, she probably has the potential to be a full out sweetie, but sometimes it just doesn't work, you know? even though that's she's a fairly sweet person some of the time, she can easily forget that she is not the most important aspect of everything. most of the time it seems like she's too busy trying to focus on or get rid of her own problems to be a truly nice person. it really reflects off into the way people percieve her. since she's generally worried about herself, she can tend to make everything about her. but she is capable of remembering others, especially the ones she likes. andie's one of those people pleasers. she likes making the people she likes happy.

character history ,
originated from: chariloas, greece[/blockquote]
parents: alana wallace, mother, deceased
andrew karras, father, deceased
siblings: none
other: collin wallace, cousin, twenty-one
robbie wallace, cousin, seventeen
meg wallace, cousin, fifteen
living situation: the wallace residence in the shaks
history:PREHISTORY * it was a bit distressing, really. out of dulcie and henry wallace's nine children, three of them had already unceremoniously relocated, only about twenty three years after the birth of the first one. nathaniel, possibly his parents' least favorite, had run off first, setting an annoying example as he went. walter went next, about two years later. and, not four months afterward, young miss alana wallace, aged eighteen, departed. she was sick of living such a controlled life. her parents didn't approve of anything she did. she couldn't do anything her parents didn't approve of openly. even when she did them secretly, they always seemed to find out. and, moreover, the weather in scotland was just plain depressing. she wanted to live in a place where the rain was normal. where it fell straight down to earth, not flying in horizontal sheets. the answer came to her quite easily. greece. she had fantasized about visiting since she was a child, which hadn't been so long ago, and she couldn't imagine a more perfect place to live. so, she left.
she settled in a breathtakingly beautiful tiny coastal town called chariloas, after chariloas trikoupis, and found work in a small local cafe. of course, she was the lastest town gossip for several weeks. the pale little girl with sickly red hair, a scottish accent, and very poor greek was the most exciting thing that had happened since iaonnis karras had been lost at sea. there were situations invovled that you might see in a heartwarming romantic comedy, before any of the real romance actually kicked in. and there were things that wouldn't sell well in the heartwarming romatic comedy market, like the nearly crippling sense of loneliness and isolation alana was exposed to. she wanted to be brave and strong and happy and not long for home, but she couldn't pull it off. she felt so utterly alone. all the time. she took to hanging around the beaches, taking in the almost ethereal sunlight, the hazy skyline, and the salty air, trying to breathe. she didn't have the slightest idea as to how to swim, but she went swimming anyway, straining to keep her head above the water and doggy paddling to the best of her abilities for about ten minutes at a time until she couldn't bear it any longer and had to return to shore, gasping, tense, and slightly exhausted, to collapse onto the sand and remind herself how to breathe again. it was just after one such occasion that she first laid eyes on him. he was six feet, six inches tall, with dark hair bleached chocolate brown and glowing bronzed skin that nearly hurt her eyes. he was smiling, laughing, as he helped another, not nearly so attractive, young man unload crates from a picturesque fishing boat. he wore a white t shirt, wet and plastered to his seemingly perfectly sculpted chest. he was andrew karras.
alana next saw him in the back room of the cafe she was working at, when she was attempting to slip outside for a few minutes to just be alone. but she was hindranced by the young greek god waiting patiently in the back room, blocking the exit, smiling absentmindedly, toting a crate similar to the one she had seen him unloading from his boat. she was struck dumb for a moment before he lured her into conversation. his english was surprsingly good. alana was quite dazed when she stumbled out back into the main serving area with the knowledge that andrew karras had just asked to meet with her later that evening. from there on out, everything went so fast. he took her on a moonlight walk down the beach that night. next week he gave her a little tour of his fishing boat, which had belonged to his father before him until he had been lost at sea. before she knew it they were locked in tight embrace, rolling about on the floor of the cabin. these meetings became almost nightly and alana started to feel.. happy. like she stood a chance against the invading loneliness. but, of course, all good things must end. the naseau, vomiting, and exhaustion started. when she finally got up the courage to take a pregnancy test, it showed her that all these symptoms were due to the baby she had growing inside her.
OH BABY * ever heard that old saying "when God closes a door he opens a window"? well, in the eyes of most who knew what happened to alana wallace, that saying described the situation perfectly. alana went into premature labor and was rushed to the nearest hospital. there she lay on a hospital bed, squeezing the hand of a distressed looking andrew karras until her hand looked entirely void of any blood. and then, all of a sudden, it was over, and there was suddenly a small, purplish little baby in the room with them. and with her came the sudden realization to andrew. that this situation was real. completely, utterly real. he was a dad. oh, crap. and then he realized that something was wrong with the woman on the hospital bed. she wasn't moving. and there was blood. too much blood.
andrew brought his baby daughter home from the hospital the next day. she was quite healthy. as good as it gets in that sort of situation, the doctors had said. except for the fact that the mother was dead. since andrew didn't know how the hell to go about raising a kid, let alone a daughter, he promptly dropped her off at the restaurant alana had previously been employed at. and thus began a case of bad parenthood. andromeda was spent most of her childhood pretty much either at the restaurant, helping wash the dishes and bringing the cook another tomato whenever it was needed, or chattering away to the employees and the customers, whoever looked bored enough to listen to her.
WHEN WE WERE CHILDREN * as andie developed from more of a young, toddling youth into a regularity child, things began to go slightly down hill, and even she could notice it. for one thing, she began to attend school. and she didn't like it. the teachers seemed to have nothing but criticism for her. "no, make that line straighter, andromeda." "you have to color more inside the lines. look at that, it looks so sloppy." "see? look at effie's. that's how you do that." it appeared she couldn't do anything right. and no one really seemed to like her, for whatever reason. they all scampered off to play during breaks in their own little groups, leaving andie almost always by alone, left to entertain herself. every day she would rush home from school, to the restaurant, to either cry, chatter, or complain to sophie, the kindly old woman who owned the place since her husband had died, who did happen to have a soft spot for the child who spent so much time at the restaurant. then, after sophie made her feel better, she'd usually receive a fig cookie and was told to go help dry the dishes or to go help eleni peel some potatoes, which she would do happily, because she was small and forgot easily. some nights her father would come to pick her up and take her back to their small cottage, and some nights he would drop by just to ask sophie to please let andromeda spend the night upstairs. on those such nights sophie would sigh and unlock the small, spare bedroom only used by andie nowadays.
and of course, andie frequented her father's fishing boat. andrew didn't like to take her out on fishing trips just yet becaues he knew people might think badly of him, but he still put her to work around the boat, fixing things, reparing nets, cleaning up, and other 'wholesome' activities. andie loved it simply because she loved her father and she loved the water. she was an adept swimmer from a young age and spent many a sunday afternoon climbing around on the boat, reading her picture books, walking along the boat railing, diving periodically into the water to swim a while, then pulling herself back aboard to lie down and nap a while in the sun to dry off. these afternoons usually bothered her father because it meant that he had to be around to supervise a bit. even he didn't want his daughter smacking her head on something and then tumbling down into the sea. he began to start sending andromeda back to the restaurants on sundays, too, just so he could have some time to himself or to go to the local pub and hit on a few girls. andie went somewhat reluctantly, but she wanted to make her father happy, so she went without complaint. eleni, a worker at the restaurant who had known alana and spent some of her childhood in england, began to teach andromeda english becaus she thought alana would have wanted it. andromeda didn't like these lessons. they were so difficult. she didn't understand how anyone could possibly understand english. there were so many rules! and even then, it seemed each grammar rule was only followed once in a single circumstance, and then there was a whole entire different set of rules. it was frustrating. but eleni persisted. and, after a couple of months, little andie was actually pretty good at it, even if she thought it was ridiculous. and as it turns out, it was a good thing eleni had taken the time to give her those lessons, seeing as she would find herself living in america in the future.
OH, TEENAGE HOPES * ah, yes. the teenage years rolled around inevitably for young andromeda. and she began to go through changes. her waist got narrower and her hips got wider. she grew a couple inches and it seemed that she glanced down one morning and found a large pair of breasts sitting on her chest. and she felt a bit alienated because most of the girls in little chariloas still had their scrawny, child like figures. she had developed quite early and she was confused. until she noticed some of the boys staring at her more than they ever had before. and there usually wasn't any malice in the stares. usually no desire to taunt. just kind of a dazed, blank look befitting their bronze features. and andromeda began to realize that she was starting to look hotter than most of the girls she went to school with. and it gave her a confidence she had never come close to possessing before. and so she began to flaunt it. and thus began the demise of her innocent reputation.
along with this, andrew began to allow andromeda to accompany him on more and more fishing trips, something she had been begging him to do for a long time. andie loved them. she loved the feeling of being out on the ocean, the rough yet soothing salty winds whipping at her hair and seemingly exclaiming, 'you're alive! you're alive! just look!' which was quite nice, as she often felt she needed a little reminded. and the open ocean representing a whole range of good feelings for her. there was the utter, complete sense of genuine peace and tranquility that would envelop her when the water was calm and lapping, and the wonderful, thrilling swell of excitement and purpose that rose up inside of her went the waves were forceful and the wind flew and smacked urgently. and when out on open water, there was always the sense that nothing else could possibly exist. there was you and the waves. and somehow it made everything else so insignificant. it calmed her. laying out in the sun until until she felt rosily, dullishly lazy and yet so invigorated, then diving into the beautiful ocean, the rough yet smooth water wrapping itself around her to soothe her alert. as the number of fishing trips she went on increased, the more light hearted she became. and there was even a marginal increase in her father's evident overall mood because there was less work for him to do because his daughter was handling some of it. and since andie spent a lot of time at the local restaurant and it was their prime customer, he had less delivery work to do. everything seemed to be working out quite well. andie was actually quite useful to have around. she spent more of the time in which she was unneeded sunbathing and when andrew asked her to help him work, she did so willingly. she could haul in a net full of fish just as well as any boy andrew had every laid eyes on.
no, it wasn't long before boys starting voicing their interest in her. and who was andromeda to refuse? it was an unknown feeling, being so popular, even if it was pretty much limited to only young, horny males. before she knew it, she was quite good at flirtacious banter. one night, when she was fourteen, she was showing on a little 'date' with a boy named ioannis and was showing him her father's boat, just as andrew had shown alana fourteen years ago. and, well, one thing managed to lead to another. ioannis walked away several minutes later, his gait seeming quite dazed and somehow jaunty at the same time. andie decided she liked the process. it was exciting. it was pretty incredible. and, most of all, she was still a little giddy over the fact that anyone would like her enough to do those things with her. and, she was quite certian her father wouldn't be happy if he found out, which added to the danger and the adrenaline rush. andromeda was hooked.
and now we come to another tragedy. up until now, andromeda's life had been okay. it wasn't perfect or spectacular, but it ran smoothly enough and lately she had been quite content. of course, that couldn't last. it was a nice day. andromeda had just turned seventeen. the sky was partly cloudy and the sun was a bit weak, but it was nice nonetheless. andrew decided to run out for a quick fishing venture as they did have a few more orders to fill. andromeda, of course, came with him. as the sailed out, however, it became apparent that the day was not going to stay nice. the wind started to blow with an astounding gusto. the water turned a dark, menacing gray. the waves hurled themselves in their scientific direction forcefully. andromeda asked if they should turn back. andrew said no. they'd finish quickly. the weather would calm down. how did he know? because he did. shouldn't they be more cautious? don't be so spooked, andromeda. they'd make it. and then, everything was just a blur. the winds increased, rain began pelting them at them like they owed it money, and the waves grew so suddenly that neither andrew or andromeda had time to react. all of a sudden the boat was gone from under them. andie felt herself suddenly immersed in a rough, velvety envelope and she knew that the boat had capsized. no, it couldn't be happening. this was too frightening to be happening. she felt herself being pulled in every direction by the waves and fought to bring herself to the surface. she gasped and jerked her eyes open, looking for her father. he was there, struggling to stay afloat and not get sucked away by any currents, just as she was. they both struggled like that for a moment, and andromeda could feel the storm gradually start to lose power, and at the same time felt all her muscles start to scream in protest. they wanted to rest, to stop thrashing about. but that really wasn't an option at the moment. and then, suddenly, there appeared a small hope of salvation on the waves. a bright orange life jacket from the boat that had just capsized. and then, it was suddenly snatched away and gone. andie glanced around in a state of confusion and saw andrew karras, her father, with the life vest, snapping it around himself, staring at her. there wasn't even some remorse in the dark, smoldering eyes alana wallace had found so dazzling. andie didn't even have time to let her eyes well up with tears. the next instant, andrew karras was gone. sucked underwater and away by a current.
all of andromeda's sense of thought left her for a moment and she just hung there, stunned by what had just happened. she had lost her father and any hope that her father had ever loved her in one moment. it was overloading her system. she couldn't bear to think about it anymore. so she let her mind deactivate for a moment and let her body take over, making mechanical motions. she knew she had to swim. so swim she did. she would've made no headway had the storm not been dying down. the feeling of the rain slashing across her face, the malicious gray waters lapping up around her wanting to swallow her up, the bleakness of the dark sky radiating down on her, is still too clear in her mind. the more she tries to forget, the more force is used when the memories trace themselves into her mind. what she can't remember is how she managed to make it back to shore. the currents much have pulled her closer to the bay that chariloas rested against, she decided later. but the journey back isn't so stronly imprinted in her memories. she can remember the feeling of the sand as she collapsed against it when she made it back to shore, and the feeble shadow of old sophie as she discovered her lying on the beach and leaned over her, concern creasing her brow. and she remembers the deep blackness the fell over her as she blacked out.
with andrew dead, andie couldn't stay where she was anymore. she had relatives scattered all over europe that would've been suitable guardians. but just as alana had made sure andromeda's last name remained wallace, she made sure that should anything ever happen to her and andrew, andie should be sent to alana's favorite brother, walter wallace, in edinbrugh, scotland. and so she was shuffled off from her small, coastal greek town, to scotland's largest city. she didn't really like it there. it was so cold. it just didn't suit her. and everyone had nearly indecipherable accents. it was all really annoying. so she was really quite excited when robbie demanded to please be allowed to go to america, to valkyrie, california, to be with his siblings. all andie had to do was demand to be take along.
PRESENTLY * andie is living with her three cousins in their small house in the shaks. like robbie, she's ready to forget about what happened in greece. and, of course, see if californian boys are as hot or as good in bed as the boys in greece.
