Andie had never really put a lot of thought into music. Sure, she'd sing along to songs she liked on the radio and if she happened to hear a catchy tune, she'd attempt to listen to it more, but other than that, music hadn't ever been much of a recreational activity for her. Lord knew she failed entirely at playing any sort of instrument and she wasn't exactly skilled when it came to carrying a tune. And she hadn't ever really put much thought into it. Reflecting, however, the Greek female could see that a good portion of the time, she would take silence over music anyway. These would be the times during which she was feeling sad or had gotten herself into a great ruddy fit of depression that would cause an outside observer to be totally clueless as to its origins. During those times, she could see that she would prefer to be alone with her thoughts and misery to mope and wallow in self pity. However, it was a different story when it came to the points in time during which she was genuinely happy. Then some source of music playing in the background would seem nice, appropriate and non-intrusive.
What she could conclude, given she was a bit unexperienced, about her music tastes was that this rap stuff made her want to absolutely vomit, and she had the same sentiments toward the stuff that Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers were spewing. However, she noticed that she liked a lot of the older stuff, mostly from the 1960s and '70s; bands like Creedence Clearwater Revival, which she had discovered via her cousin Robbie, when she had been bored one afternoon and decided to go and annoy him for amusement. He himself claimed to not be particularly fond of those bands in question, but he had a couple of their albums on his iPod. He also had the song 'Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves' by Cher on it, which had been how Andie had discovered it. She had stolen the iPod for a couple of hours and had been sifting through it when she happened upon that particular track and fell in love. Of course, Robbie had attempted to kill her when he discovered she had taken his precious iPod without his permission. It wasn't as easy as stealing some of the cigarettes from the always bountiful supply in his bedroom. He noticed a lot more quickly.
Lately, Andie hadn't been able to get 'Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves' out of her head at all. It was lucky that she had been in a generally good mood recently, otherwise it would have driven her absolutely insane. She had been humming and singing it under her breath almost nonstop, which had resulted in Robbie avoiding her as much as possible after cussing her out and asking her, in no uncertain terms, to please shut the hell up (honestly, if he hated the song so much, he shouldn't have put it on his fucking iPod, thank you very much). That it annoyed him was just another plus, so she had continued with a vengeance whenever he was around, which succeeded in securing it even more tightly to her brain. This eventually evolved into a desire to hear the actual song actually played, so she had attempted to steal her cousin's iPod again, but in vain. Robbie had evidently taken extra precautions ot make sure she wouldn't be able to find it if she went snooping around in his room.
The only remaining solution was to go out and buy a Cher CD of some sort so that she could listen to it at home whenever it struck her fancy. That, of course, wasn't the only plus. If Robbie ever started to tick her off, she could grab the boombox and blare it. It would probably annoy Collin, too, which was also good. Andie was seeing him more frequently now that school was out because they were both no longer obligated to go to class. During the school year, Andie was away from the house for roughly seven hours during the day for school, and usually another couple in the evening for recreation, and Collin was usually locked up in his study so that they hardly set eyes on each other. Now it wasn't unusual if she bumped into him a couple times a day, which caused them both all amounts of grief.
Anyway, this was why Andie wound up at [C]ompact [D]isk on one humid July afternoon. She had a twenty dollar bill tucked inside her purse and was perusing the aisles, her eyes peeled for the word "Cher". So far she wasn' having much luck... oh wait. Here was something, a collection of greatest hits. Andie picked it up and flipped it over to check whether or not the song that had spawned this whole quest was on it... whoop, bingo. Hmm. She stole a glance over at the front register, where a girl with very curly black hair was flipping lazily through a magazine; she wasn't going to take notice of anything. Andie then looked around, trying to spot any security cameras. There was probably at least one, but she couldn't spot it. Because she was trying to determine whether or not she would be able to get away with slipping into the bathroom, removing the anti-theft device in the CD case and escape having to spend her money. She had a feeling it wouldn't work. Pity.

NOTES had too much muse for her to go to waste, even if it did fall apart at the end.
