character facts ,
full name: Charles (charlie) James McPherson
gender: male
age: eighteen
school year: senior
art interest: soccer
portrayed by: charlie hunnam
appearance:as the mcpherson children came into the world and grew up, everyone always remarked on how they looked the same. Even when extending the family tree to the aunts, uncles and cousins, there was your fair share of pale skin, blond hair and blue eyes. Charlie was no different. Even though his mother swears she’s a natural redhead, Charlie is as blonde as the rest of them and has been since he was a baby. Inheriting his father’s looks has done anything but damage his chances of being considered a ‘good-looking guy’. While Charlie will never admit it and blushes slightly when someone compliments him, he has a lot of the classic hot boy next door look going for him. His hair is usually kept quite long. Charlie’s had it every length and in the last two years alone went from almost completely shaved to long and flowing. Currently it’s at the length he likes best, just below his ears, long enough for the natural flip at the ends to flatter him perfectly, as well long enough where he still doesn’t have to put much maintenance into it. His bangs fall just over his eyes, which are blue. Really his eyes aren’t all that spectacular and no one makes a big deal about them, not that they really make a big deal of his other features either, at least not too his face. To the left of his nose is a small mole, one of the biggest issues he has with his appearance. Charlie really wants to get it removed, just because he thinks it’s the first thing people notice and well, moles aren’t the most attractive thing. It’s not cancerous or anything, so he doesn’t have to worry about it like that, but still he’d like to get it removed.
Charlie is an athlete, soccer being the main reason (after daddy’s money) he attends valkyrie academy. He’s always loved running around and being active and his body reflects that. As a young child Charlie never put effort or was concerned into what his body looked like, it was the way his lifestyle was. As he got older he became a little more self conscious of what he looked like, but when it came down to it took a lot for Charlie to really want to change something about himself. He’s tall, standing at about 6’1 and has a lean stature.

character personality ,
personality:
timid
when Charlie first came to the states he was scared out of his mind. Brand new not knowing a soul except his father, he came across as a little shy and reluctant. For that first year especially he was very timid when it came to a lot of things causing him to have a hard time making friends and accepting that he was different from everyone else. he was very self conscious about his accent and that he didn’t know anyone else when it seemed the kids in his grade had grown up together. As time went by and Charlie spent more time getting accustomed to his new surroundings he became more comfortable with himself and his differences. Although he’s surely more confident nowadays, he’s still a little on the timid side. He’s not as spontaneous as some of his friends and needs to think things though more thoroughly before going through with something.
sweet & a gentlemen
Charlie has always been a little sweetheart. When he was a little boy he was doted on for his cute little grin and his ability to make anyone smile with his innocent questions and subtle compliments. He hasn’t changed one bit and while he has a little backbone and is fully capable of standing up for himself, he remains the nice, sweet, kind-hearted kid he was back in England. Together with his English accent and his so called charm, he can get a little nauseating, especially when it comes to girls. He’s a perfect gentlemen, almost all the time. Occasionally if he’s been drinking he’ll slip a little but really it’s just Charlie’s personality to be a good guy. On a date, or just in real life he’s the ‘hold the door open – pull the chair out – completely considerate about everything’ guy, the one who you think is trying so hard but yet pulls it all off with an effortless ease that appears natural. Charlie, to be honest, while he loves women and thinks they deserve everything he can give them, doesn’t try that hard. It’s just the way he thinks things should be done and nowadays acts without thinking. He’s a sweetheart who’s nice to people unless they give him a reason not to be, and he sees no problem with it.
independent & passionate
Charlie comes from a history of businessmen, people with a ‘go-getter’ attitude who have left their imprint on the world in their own way. his own father rose up from humble beginnings to become the success he is now and Charlie has always felt a certain amount of pressure to hold his own in the family. He really doesn’t want to rely on his parents and grandparent’s money for the rest of his life, and while his inheritance surely would take care of him, he needs a purpose in life. as he’s gotten older, recently turning eighteen he’s become even more independent and passionate when it comes to his future. He’s always been the type who is able to strike out on his own and plans to do so much more in the future. Lately he’s also realized just how passionate he is when it comes to certain things. He goes after the things that he wants whether material, physical or personal. He has a passion for soccer and after realizing that it could be something more then just an enjoyable past time he’s making the appropriate arrangements to reach his full potential. This is the main reason for his desire to go to school in England, soccer as a competitive sport is much more widespread in Europe then in the states and he feels that he’ll have more opportunities overseas. But then there’s his girlfriend, who he so passionately went after, even though she was constantly finding reasons not to give in to him.

history:
It all started when Carl McPherson was twenty two years old and offered the chance to spend his final year of college in England. He had never been one to had the desire to travel the world, staying in the States, of even just California his whole life would have been perfectly fine with him. The only son in a middle class family, his parents had high hopes for him and after learning that Carl had this opportunity they pushed him into doing it. It was scary at first but Carl was a bright eyed law student who was ready for anything, most of all he was excited to be in a new country. The school year flew by and when it came time to go home it was much harder then he ever imagined. With his law degree in hand he decided to stay in England for a little while longer, the lease on his flat hadn’t run out yet and felt he was owed a little time off after spending four+ years in school. It was a friend of his who introduced him to Magna Power Corp, a company the primarily produced automobile parts. The were looking for consultants and willing to hire right out of college if they felt the person met the requirements, Carl was apprehensive, he had been planning to head back to California but figured it couldn’t hurt to apply. To his surprise he got the job and started to work immediately extending his stay in England indefinitely.
It was at the company Christmas ball that he met Sophie Clinton, the oldest daughter of Magna’s then (and still) CEO. He didn’t know how it would look to be going after the head honcho’s baby girl, but Carl did anyway. The rest, they say is history. They were married at Sophie’s fathers mansion in the English countryside and honeymooned in the Caribbean. Sophie was an up and coming designer, after spending her teens and early twenties in a splendor of drugs and club hopping, she was grateful to settle down and loved Carl, even though he father was always skeptical of his motives. Sophie grew up privileged while Carl was one of four children in a middle class family, his father was a high school principal, not exactly glamorous, while he was a little distrusted at first eventually it became obvious his motives were innocent. Over the next couple years he rose up in the company using his business and law expertise to prove himself. Meanwhile Sophie’s clothing line was actually doing quite successfully and together they were the dream couple. But everyone needs to wake up sometime right? They were both so busy with their careers their marriage took the backseat for years, it wasn’t until they decided together that they really wanted things to work and they wanted a family together that things got better.
The McPherson’s would go on to have three children, their third being Charles James McPherson. He was born during the early afternoon one February day about four years after his older sister Beatrice, and seven after his older brother Edward. Charlie (as he is primarily known) was a sweet baby and doted upon by everyone, especially his grandparents. Born into a wealthy family, he’s always been kind of spoiled, but the McPherson who could be classified as ‘old money’ (in regards to Charlie’s mother, she was a trust fund baby just like her children would become) and even though Charlie’s father had worked hard to make his own fortune, Charlie benefitted greatly from it. It was shortly after Charlie’s birth that Carl and Sophie’s marriage began experiencing the same old problems. Not that it was the blonde haired, blue eyed babies fault, it was just that upon the agreement that Charlie would be their last child, and once he was old enough to be left with a nanny for extended hours, Sophie began concentrating on her career in a way she hadn’t since before Edward’s birth. She had faded from Europe’s fashion scene but was trying her hardest to make a comeback and ultimately would eventually.
When Charlie was four, his parent’s divorced. He was too young to really remember anything about it, but as he got older it really became clear that it affected him. Distanced from his siblings by age and with his parents living separately Charlie became very dependent on friends and his social life. Even as a young kid, still in elementary school, going to school, playing at recess and having play dates were the core events surrounding his social development. Sophie always felt terrible about her long work hours and made up for it on weekends and holidays. Charlie saw his father, who was still living in England at the time all the time and although when he thinks back on it know it seems like they were never around, he can’t remember ever feeling like he was alone. It was when he was eleven and his father decided to move back to California that he really felt the effects of the divorce. Even though they had been divorced for over six years it wasn’t until he didn’t have the option of not seeing his father that things really took meaning. Charlie and his siblings went to California on school holidays and for a couple weeks in the summer, but it was hard. Charlie always identified with his dad then his other siblings, took after him in his athletic, charming ways and enjoyed the time he spent with him in the States.
As the McPherson children got older and more busy with their own lives they didn’t really see much of each other. Charlie’s older sister was heading to University the same year he would start high school, and Charlie would be the only one in the house for a lot of the time. Sophie travelled very often and although she hated leaving her kids alone, as they got older she stopped really so guilty and enjoyed what was finally hers: success away from her family, something that for once was all hers. This was primarily Charlie’s motivation for moving to live with his father in California. Charlie’s father was always trying to get him to consider moving out there, boasted about the fun he could have, how the sun would feel much nicer then the constant rain. He went on and on about the school Charlie could go to that would very good for his budding soccer skills. Most of all Carl just wanted to be able to see his son more often, he had been there for Edward and Beatrice when they were growing up, saw them through high school and what not and he felt bad that Charlie seemed to be getting the short end of the stick, especially now that Sophie never seemed to be home.
Ultimately it was Charlie’s own decision when it came to moving to California. He would miss his friends, but hated being alone in that huge house in Newcastle and just wanted to live somewhere where there were actual people around. In the summer before ninth grade, Charlie boarded a plane with all his most prized possessions and flew to California and moved into his father’s house. Carl at this point had taken up his law career and weaseled his way into local politics. He had a decent sized mansion in the better part of Valkyrie, California were he lived with his fiancé. That September Charlie’s siblings joined him for a week for their father’s marriage, and after that he would see them at Christmas when he went home to England. Starting Valkyrie Academy was problem one of the scariest things for Charlie. Unless he was on the sports field, he tended to be shy and worried about making friends. People here were different then back home, and he worried that kids would make fun of his accent. Grade nine was a tough year, but then again it is for everyone, being the new kid just didn’t help things at all. He made a few friends, but was still a little timid to get involved with other activities so he remained mostly a homebody, working to get good grades and spending time with his father and new step-mother, who he actually quite liked.
It was in his sophomore year that he really came into his own. Although a little quiet, he had a certain charm about him and after growing a considerable amount in a short amount of time he grew more confident with himself. He joined the soccer team, a sport which he had loved back home and was quite good at. He found making friends to be a lot easier and became a lot more confident living in California. This has continued until now that Charlie is a senior. He’s quite well known around the VA campus and although he will always love England, considers California to be his home.
His plans for the future are iffy, his dream was always to head back to England for school, and now that a scholarship for soccer has been offered to him that’s looking like the obvious choice. But there’s also so many more things holding to Valkyrie, first his girlfriend, Charlie Wood who he has fallen in love with and can’t imagine leaving, secondly his father and his new half-sibling who Charlie really adores. He never really had a solid relationship with his older brother and sister and although his baby sister is about sixteen years younger then him he wants to be a part of her life. Things are still really iffy but he accepted the offer to study at the University of London and although he hasn’t told anyone about it yet, he’s planning to leave come the end of August. As of know he’s just returning from spending a couple weeks in England, his uncle passed away and he went to attend the funeral. Those couple weeks away and how much he missed Valkyrie, his girlfriend especially was a glimpse of what he was going to be facing come September and is skeptical if he made the right decision. He’s weighing his options for now, but it’s getting too late to change his mind.
