Appearance: Being of average height and average weight, Claire has never had a problem of A) finding clothes, or B) bumping her head on random doorframes that are shorter than she is. She's never had enough grace for dancing, or enough speed or coordination for any kind of sport. Claire decided after trying both ballet and basketball to try something that takes less natural skill. That was about when she picked up her camera.
She decided when she was eleven or twelve that she was sick of her Plain-Jane, mouse brown hair. If you would dare to call it that; she thought of it more as a dirty blonde. What an attractive thing to say about hair. Claire went through a series of colors, from blue, to pink, to black. After letting the dyes run out of her hair, she settled for blonde highlights.
Personality: Being of a sarcastic nature, people aren’t usually so inclined to become friendly with Claire. However, those that do end up with a loyal, funny, smart, and helpful kind of friend behind them. Overall, she makes a good attempt at being nice to those she doesn’t know, but then again, no one’s perfect.
Past events with her mother left Claire in an untrusting manner. Her mother had been one of her closest friends, right up until Claire and her father had to leave because of her unfaithful nature. It takes forever for her to have enough trust with anyone, which causes her to have even further bad luck in friendship, and even worse in any real kind of relationship.

Flaws: Claire has a tendency to be a little free-spirited. If something seems like a good idea at the time, she'll do it. Even if it won't be good in the long run.
Also, she has been known to be a tad rude in her sarcasm. A little is alright, so her mother said, but sometimes she takes it overboard. To people she doesn't know, she might come off as a total bitch.
Secrets: None really. Except she does an occasional drug or two.
History: Claire was born on December 3rd, 1991 to Heather and Nicholas Bartnett in a small hospital in Maine. Her middle name of ‘Indigo’ was given to her by her mother, as the name was both her favorite color, and her favorite band. The Indigo Girls that is.
Life was fairly normal, until Claire was four. Her mother discovered that she had become pregnant, sending the family into sheer happiness. Until that is, Nicholas discovered that it was not, in fact, his child. As it turned out, Heather had not been faithful to her ever loving husband, as he was to her. So, Nicholas packed up his belongings and his daughter and left.
They stayed on the road, periodically staying places, but no more than a few months. As soon as Claire started school, they stayed where they were in Oregon for a few years, then down to Wyoming, and finally down to California, where they made a habit of actually staying in one place.
Money had always been tight for Claire and her father, because they moved so much. They stayed in small apartments, never carrying more than they could. However, when they decided to stay in California so that Claire could go to Valkyrie, they experienced one of the major benefits of staying in one place. New things. And her father’s steady job. They still had to live in a small apartment in the Shaks however, until they gained enough money to move to a better home.
Because they lived in constant motion, Claire had little money to spend on new clothes. She literally kept clothes until they had too many holes in them to be worn anymore, when they made a trip to the nearest Goodwill to buy more. By doing such, Claire also learned how to take meticulous care of her belongings, and ditched any pack-rat habits at an early age.
There were only a couple things that Claire felt the need to carry with her throughout their journeys. An old stuffed bear by the name of Theodore, which had been given to her when she was little by her father after they’d gone, and her books. The bear’s fur was worn, and gone in a couple places, but Claire still kept it with her every where she went. On one event, she’d left Theodore in a hotel that she and her father had been staying in. They had to drive back over a hundred miles to retrieve the poor stuffed thing.
Claire wouldn’t admit it, but she is a severe nerd. She has stacks and boxes of books that she gathered through their various homes. From Adventure to Science Fiction, she literally had it all. When she’d moved to a dorm in the Academy, she’d been forced to leave some of her books behind in her father’s apartment garage, which was filled with random things anyways.
Even though Claire and Nicholas had a difficult life, Claire never regretted their moving around. It only brought her and her father closer together, so she had never been one to say that she hated her father. They have an extremely good relationship, and Claire felt comfortable telling her father everything. It was other people she had trouble with.
Living Situation: Claire lives in a dorm with her fellow students. On her bed she has two pillows, an old stuffed bear, and a thick black comforter. The bear is a keepsake, worn from age and travel. If anyone ever made fun of her for it, they usually ended up getting a black eye or two. Otherwise, everything on her bed was new, given to her when she arrived in California. The rest of her dorm is relatively clean, with clothes erratically tossed onto the floor. Generally, however, they didn’t stay there for long.

Read the Rules?:Yessum.
Name One You Liked:4. This is not a roleplay with unicorns and fluffy clouds, this roleplay can deal with real-world issues. So: *Drugs, alcohol, sex, language, and rock and roll is accepted. What’s an academy without that? Haha. Loved that one.
What Makes Your Character Different From The Rest?: Honestly, I don't know. She's more protective of her friends maybe?
