FACTS

Location: Valkyrie, California.
Student Body: There are about 1000 students ranging from the grades of 9-12. There are about 20% of foreign students from Europe, Africa, and Asia.

Girls: Tennis, cheerleading, field hockey, basketball, lacrosse, soccer, softball, volleyball, swimming, track, golf.
Boys: Basketball, baseball, cheerleading, football, lacrosse, soccer, track, golf, swimming, tennis, wrestling, water polo.
The Campus: Over 200 acres of learning and play. VA is located in the majority of the small town outside of LA. Gardens, woods, ten playing fields, twelve tennis courts, riding rings and stable, dormitories, gymnasium, art center, science center, auditorium, two dance studios, dining hall, library, student lounge, recreational rooms, health center, sport center, which includes, indoor swimming pool, tennis/volleyball/basketball courts.
Extra Curricular Activities: Students are required to join at least one extra curricular activity. It is very encouraged on colleges around the country.
Progress Reports: Progress reports are sent to your parents twice each semester and to the students.

Senior: Ages 17-18

STUDENT RULES

It is wonderful that you have been accepted into Valkyrie Academy. We are very strict when it comes to rules. We want this year to be very well without anything extreme or scandalous happen among the students. We expect you to read over the rules, and abide them through-out the year.
Cheating: Cheating is simply unacceptable. We want every student to do his/her own work. If any cheating is found, the student will be expelled. No one, not even your parents can tuck you out of this. We at VA do not promote, or let it slide.

Homework: All teachers at VA give out homework daily, and you are expected to complete and turn it in when it is asked. Slacking off or just not doing it, may risk your grade and GPA that you will be sent to the counselors and you could be put on academic probation, where the teachers and the advisors will be breathing down your back to get better at school.

Absences and Tardies: Continually being late for class, depending on the teacher, could result in detentions, hurt your grade, extra work, or even being dropped from their class. Have three unexcused absences and you will be dropped from the class. We at VA want you to exceed. Sleeping in, or skipping, keeps you from excelling.

Dress Code: For Girls: The uniform for girls is strict. They are provided navy blazers withVA’s seal attached. Wearing any unnatural color underneath the blazer, such as: pink, purple, bright green, is not acceptable. Colors acceptable would be: white, navy, maroon, black, and tan. A navy tie is provided but is optional. Skirts are plaid and blue. The navy skirts are not to be any more than three inches above the knees. Skirts some in navy/plaid or solid navy. Girls are also allowed to wear tan pants if they are not comfortable wearing the skirts. Cleavage or undergarments showing at any time is un-acceptable. Breaking the dress code will result the student to visit the main offices.
For Boys: The uniform for boys is strict. They are provided navy blazers with VA’s seal attached. Wearing any unnatural color underneath the blazer, such as: pink, purple, bright green, is not acceptable. Colors acceptable would be: white, navy, maroon, black, and tan. A navy tie is required for boys. Tan khaki pants will be worn for pants. Pants should be belted. Any showment of undergarments or sag is not acceptable. Breaking the dress code will result the student to visit the main offices.

Extra Curricular Activities: We require students to get involve with the school. Students are to join at least one club or sport. Getting involved with school will be great on your college applications. We are also open for any new clubs. If it passes the board you may create your own. Promotions of any clubs is allowed. You are able to put signs around the school as long as you are willing to get them at the end so our custodians don’t have to do so.

Dorms: Dorms are separated into a girls dormitory and a boys dormitory. Students are randomly put in a dorm with another student during registration. The dorms are only to be visited by the students of the same sex. Girls will not be in boys, and boys will not be in girls. If you would like to chat with other students, that is what our large recreational room is for. On week nights, students are to be in their rooms by eleven o’clock. No exceptions. Dorm rooms are furnished by a decor team every summer. Each dorm has two beds, two closets, two dressers, two desks, one small table, and two chairs. Students are allowed to re-arrange the room to their likings with the permission of their roommate. Computers and TVs are permitted but need to be provided on their own.

Violence: We have a zero-tolerance here at Valkyrie Academy. Violence and bullying is never allowed. Students doing so will be either suspended or even expelled at how extreme the case. Fighting is never the answer.

Illegal Substances: Any illegal substances such as alcohol and drugs are not permitted on school grounds. If any teachers find or have reason to believe you are in possession of illegal substances and are right, you will be expelled. Drugs are illegal, so it is here at Valkyrie
