Let me introduce you to Mister Jason Andrew Irving, the gentleman from New York. He's twenty-two, in his fifth year of college studying to be a pediatrician. Obviously, he loves kids. He's a real easy guy to get along with and pretty laid back. He's a class clown of sorts, the guy who likes to crack jokes and is just really good at getting people to laugh, even when they're down. Jason's a great friend and a committed boyfriend, the kind of guy you can turn to when you need someone to talk to. It's not unlikely for him to trip over his own two feet and he's needed stitches quite a few times just by being himself. He's also sort of guilt ridden; anytime he starts bickering with one of his friends, he'll feel bad about it for a while. He's open to ideas, but he can be rather stuck in his ways. He loves playing piano and guitar and spending time with his friends. He hates watching people get hurt, emotionally or physically and he cannot stand watching a guy take advantage of a woman. So, now that you know a little bit about him, time for some plotting.
Jason‘s definitely the type of guy who would have a good group of friends, especially since he‘s been living here for about two years. He‘ll be there for any of his friends who need him in a heartbeat and he makes a great crying shoulder or listener. Like I said, he‘s a very loyal, committed friend, he won‘t be the guy to turn his back on anyone. He will speak his mind, though, so if one of his friends is doing something he doesn't necessarily approve of, he'll let them know, but he'll try to sugar coat it at first so he doesn't hurt anyone but if that doesn’t work, he will come out and say “Look, I don’t think you should be doing this.”
Jason’s love life is set. He’s engaged to be married to his girlfriend of a little over a year. He’s not about to break her heart again.
I‘m really not sure what kind of person wouldn‘t get along with him. Some people would probably find his sense of humor rather, well, unhumorous. Or maybe it was one of his ex-friends that he said he didn‘t like what they were doing and they took it the wrong way. He‘s not fond of it when people who claim to be turn their backs or talk behind his back, so maybe there could be someone like that, too. Let me know what you can think of.
Any ideas, let me know! I‘m open to pretty much anything, other than him getting involved with anyone. He‘s definitely not interested in hurting his fiancé again.

Hey Emily, so you've already met me in the cbox *is Anna* and I just wanted to post with a welcome and all that good stuff.
So putting on my thinking cap sadly only brings one thing to mind and thats that I think Mary and Jason should be friends. She's younger than him by like 4 years by age but she's only like a year behind in school. She skipped most of high school. But she's fun and smart. She really doesn't know what she wants to do when she's older but she could do anything. She's creative and fun-loving, lively and ALWAYS has an opinion. She's one of those girls you wouldn't think have bad self esteem but do. A bit quirky at times and head over heels for one of her other friends, Reed Turner, who's not like Jason at all but yeah, he's played by lainey and he hurts her unknowingly a lot because I don't think he gets how Mary feels about him but Jason could be like kind of protective of her. She really doesn't have any family. Both her parents are dead and her older sister she never talks to. Right now she's sort of kind of sleeping with Tim suresh with no strings attached mainly so she doesn't feel so lonely over reed, but that's so not her so its something to worry about. And yeah, these two should totally be good friends.
that's about all my brain can come up with atm. But if you think of anything with any of mine, go ahead and ask.

Awesome, now I'm starting to relate people to their characters, haha.
Anyways, I can definitely see these two as friends. Almost like a brother/sister sort of thing in a way, especially if she's known him since he moved here? Age doesn't really bother him at all, so the fact that she's four years younger doesn't matter. It seems like their personalities would go together pretty well, too since they seem to have a lot of the same traits. He'd definitely try to get her self esteem up, that's just the way he is. I can see him being protective of her and since she's lacking the family, I can again see the brother/sister-like relationship coming out. Jason wouldn't be too fond of Reed, especially if he saw what he was doing to Mary, regardless if it was physical or emotional. He'd also have some very, uh, Jason-like things to tell her if he found out she had the whole friends-with-benefits kind of thing going on, especially since you said it's not like her.
