ABOUT VALKYRIE
so, this is vside. three years standing and we're all very pleased of what the site has become. for as old as the site is (in today's standards.) chances are you've come across valkyrie a few times and out guess is that you've seen how long we've been open and feel you couldn't join, or you've already had thoughts about us. the staff just wanted to clear somethings up to all the potential members. so, we've complied this thread of rumors and questions about the forum and us rl-people. =]
1.) Don't Be Intimidated!
so many active members now told us that they were intimidated by valkyrie when they first joined. just because we are three years old shouldn't mean there is no way you can jump into things, or us people are all really close in our own little circle. we're all a happy, sometimes goofy, group and we're very welcoming to new people. the good thing about valkyrie is that we're always changing. there is so much to get involved in, it's quite easy.
2.) We're A Family - Not a Clique!
people here get close quickly through plotting and chatting in the cbox. since when are families cliques? right, never. We're not joking when we say you really do make good friends here. the staff personally hate clique-y sites because that defeats the purpose of why we are all here, which is to roleplay. everyone talks to everyone, everyone plots with everyone.
3.) We've Been Open Forever
so you really don't have to worry about valkyrie dying at the end of the month. we are a long-term rp site for long-term writers. you come here, you'll stay here for a long time.
4.) We're Old School - Not Slow
we've been told in the past we're a slower site. true and false. we're just an old school forum, having been open for so long. we love writing. check out the forum - we're jam-packed with threads upon threads of short stories. and we tend to write a lot, therefore we don't choke out replies every fifteen minutes. great for people who can! but it takes us a little bit longer because the members here put a lot of thought into all their threads and replies. patience here is key, you can do it. lainey is the most impatient person in real-life but not here, she knows people take their time.
5.) Why We're An App Site
we've always been an app site. we're not about to change that because of the growing trend. this is our 'old school vibe' coming through but we really develop our characters before playing them. if you're worried of spending your time on an app for the site to die, don't, because you've already read we just stay open. so it's not like you're doing work for nothing. and the members have a better idea of your character so plotting will come easier.
we really hope this has helped in anyway of who we are and how we run things. if you have any other questions, you can always pop into the cbox. we're extremely chatty.
