if there was one thing a certain brunette hated most, it was waking up to the bright sunshine when she was sleeping off a long night, and that, my friends, was why she bought thick curtains imported from portugal. the slight issue was that anne now slept in far more than what her schedule allowed her, and as the clock struck eleven in the morning, her maid was rapping on the door for her to wake.
"miss lévesque? oh miss lévesque! your parents have requested that you do not sleep in past this hour! miss lévesque you must wake up!" anne groaned in response to the conformity of her parent's new guidelines, as she rolled over in the bed sheets, her tiny body curling underneath its cotton heaven. anne, jason and coco had arrived from greece only yesterday, where she had gone to a party the night before with coco (yes, they were actually bonding now a day, except anne was doing all the drinking for coco) and taken only a little bit of adderral and many shots of rum. in response to even the smallest intake of kid coke? she had just fallen asleep two hours ago. her eyes felt heavy and her eyelids were as dark and defining as the twilight she had seen only a couple hours earlier. she gripped the edges of her sheets, as the locked door continued to bang and the threats of the russian made were even darker and louder than usual. "do not make me get the keys! it is against my code of conduct but i do not want to go against your own parent's guidance!" anne finally sat up, the blood in her head rushing all at once in an awful blur, while her eyes blinked due to the heat that penetrated from the windows, even through such expensive curtains.
"oh my god, if you don't stop squealing with that little mouth of yours i'll shove those keys -"
"good! you are awake! breakfast is ready!" her maid interrupted, knowing where anne's threat would have gone and instead avoided the profanity all together in order for a more cordial beginning of the saturday. anne bit her lip as she stared at herself in the mirror - a mess. she used to be the proper one, one that was well put together. and then she met alcohol. the party life. socializing. adderall. it was all the adderall really. it wasn't under influence of her older brother, despite that it was just kid coke really and jason was just doing the real thing, but it was a spur of energy. if anne was going to continue being tennis captain, college applications, and school president, there was no chance in hell she'd do it being lifeless. however, such a motivating assortment of reasons had disappeared, and instead she was using it just to.. well.. get a high. the speed. the rush. this was also a common pill for high school girls wanting to lose weight, and indeed anne had. which wasn't a good thing. she felt her legs getting boney and had even felt the bones in her back at one point without even bending nor trying. in a way, she almost liked it - it gave her a sense of power to get skinnier and skinnier. but at the same time, that wasn't her initial reason whatsoever. the only color that remained in her face was the leftover sun kiss from the meditteranean ocean. shaking her head at the reflection, she immediately thought about her day and her first initial idea? text daphne or bailey. bailey and anne were sufficiently awkward before anne had all of a sudden left for greece because she didn't remember her, and treated bailey horribly. there was a certain amount of guilt that anne admitted to there. so daphne first, at least.TO: daph <3
FROM: anne (your mobile phone)
"oh hey bitch, miss me? lunch at the country club in an hour. spiced drinks will be provided. we have a lot to catch up on. you have no choice in the matter. see you then! xoxo anne."
now that that was settled, anne busied herself getting ready, which always seemed to be easier when it was hot outside. and california in october? that tended to be the hottest month of the year. slipping into her new clothes that she had bought overseas (come on, you really think anne would travel and come back empty handed?) she walked down the stairs, purse over her shoulder, hoping that no one would see her sneaking down. taking out her phone, looking as conspicious and poorly stealth as ever, she began to call jason. no answer. in bed with some whore go figure. oh how she missed driving and unfortunately, she'd have to go all the way out to the pool house to have the driver take her to the country club. like hell would she walk or, worse, ride a bike. ew. however, her driver was already sitting in the living room, for some odd reason, reading the morning paper.
"i need to go to lunch." anne told him from the front corridor, as her driver looked at her and nearly laughed, seeing her tiny legs and shaking body. he recognized the habits all too well from jason - that woman wasn't eating today. "stop laughing and come." anne demanded, slipping on her glasses and stomping out the door, nearly sprinting down the winding staircases to the front gravel driveway where the dear old porsche the driver drove awaited. he was a man of duty, however, and so in no time at all he followed her quick trails and they began the five minute drive to the country club. anne didn't say a word to him, and neither him to her. she was much to anxious, her foot tapping and her hands shaking - it probably made him uncomfortable. launching herself out of the car, she walked into the country club and toward the restaurant by the pool area.
"a table for two." anne told the hostess, not even giving the woman a second glance and instead directing the way as to where she would like to be sat rather than what the hostess would decide.
you're the boss applesauce.
and until then, anne ordered a water and an orange juice (which would soon be mixed) and waited for the arrival of her much missed best friend.
