And she's been the screamer head for awhile now, I haven't talked about her because I didn't want to make her but she's too loud now that I found a face for her but yeah. She was inspired by my film class, the title of my film class in "The Side Show in Film" and our textbooks name is Freakery and Tod Browning was a film maker of the 1930s who made the cult classic Freaks. Getting the picture?

My new little girl is one of the few people still around who seeing the carnival Freak show as an art form. In side shows there are three types of 'freaks': Born freaks, who are the tom thumbs, anyone born physically different, the human caterpillars etc., Made Freaks, who are like the tattooed lady, or people who fake the oddity and the third kind is called the Working Acts. These are the people who wouldn't be classified as a 'freak' if it weren't for their performance, the glass eaters, the human pin cushions, the human canonball, the ventriloquist, the sword swallowers, the contortionists and the fire breathers. And that's what Amyra is. She's a working act. She travels with a small group of people who are one of the last classic carnivals, they even performed with Ward Hall for a bit. Ward Hall is an old timer in the side show biz and yet another one of the few keeping it alive. If you've ever seen Tod Browning's film Freaks (a classic, ftr) you know that in side show culture, the people on the inside take care of their own. There is real truth to that. Many ex side show stars, including the Half-girl, Jeanie, you know the one who had no legs but married Al tanini the 8ft tall man? her, she always talked about how she loved her side show days and how it really was, between the performers at least not the management, a very accepting environment to their own kind, they took care of each other when the world was an ass (I love my class because seriously, I know a LOT of Side show history and customs now).

I don't know much about her history yet, I need to chat with some people, when I know I'll tell you guys here but what I do know is that she is Romanian with maybe some other mixed in ethnicities. She ran away from her family and joined a traveling circus. She has trained her body and is a contortionist as well as a fire breather but as a working act she can do many of the basics to, ride a unicycle, juggle knifes, etc.

She travels with Thompson, a man with no arms. As well as Sally, his wife, and woman who stopped gaining height when she hit four feet even. They're practically raised Amyra, She calls the Aunt and Uncle. And then the boy who's practically her brother and is actually the son of Thompson and Sally, little Marcus who is only 6 and cute as can be in the most normal definition, but strangers dont see it because they're too distracted by his cleft hands, which are usually called lobster claws, or crab hands.came to VA because Thompson wanted to get a degree and VU accepted him and if him, Sally and marcus are there, Amyra's going with. Marcus goes to school, Sally's working as a secretary, Thompson and Amyra are going to work at the Renn fair. Thompson as a court jesture as historically speaking they were jestures at that time or considered signs of the devil which they aren't going to put him through in modern times and trying to remain politically correct. Amyra works in the gypsy show, fire breathing and doing her acrobatics. She's happy for now doing just that.

nyah, more amazingness from anna! AND WE NEED TO PLOT HER WITH SOME OF MY CHARACTERS SO MUCH THAT IT'S NOT EVEN FUNNY. because i too have some kids with connections to a circus; cat and charlie! though they never really performed or anything epic like that, and i'm thinking it was less of a freak show type deal and had more of a ' wholesome happy family attraction' vibe. but, nonetheless! we need some plottage going on there. i don't know if we could do some sort of thing where they've met each other previously because charlie and cat were both pretty young when they stopped traveling around with their father, we can figure that out once you get more of her history down? anyhow, amyra and cat have the potential to be pretty good friends, i think, but cat's in kind of a weird, angry mindset right now so she's not really feeling very open to being nice to people, haha. also amyra would remind her of her father's circus days... and those are really frustrating memories for her. so, whatever we do with them, they would probably get off to a rocky start because cat's initial reaction to her would probably be 'ughh'. but not because of anything personal, of course. however, after a while, if they spent time together, she would definitely really grow to like her, even if there winds up being a weird age difference or something. how old are you thinking amyra will be? haha. anyway, charlie on the other hand would definitely like amyra from the start. i'm thinking that they should connect through how they both love music. they'd be friends, definitely. other than that, i want her to plot with seb, too. partly because he needs plots and partly because he'd be really fascinated by her and think she was pretty damn kickass. i can also see him finding himself attracted to her and getting angry at himself about it because of his situation with carly. some drama there, maybe? i don't know how she'd think of him, but yeah. SHE'S AMAZING AND I LOVE HER. <3 and you, of course. hope this was at least somewhat helpful. :]

ok, i had to get that out there since jordana brewster is in my top five girl!crushes of all time. i love her and i love you more for using her face. though i am more than thrilled to finally see someone making a jordana character, the more i read about her the more i thought that she was a pretty perfect choice for amyra, and i'm not just saying that. i can totally see her being a part of a traveling circus act. i really love how free-spirited she is and grew up the way she did. definitely a first here on valkyrie. and she seems so well developed. so, haha, with plots. i'm forcing you at knife point to plot with paolo. because well i have bribes and there's more where that came from in my bag of tricks. it's funny since paolo has become so serious, and she's so... not? xD they'll be an interesting pair to plot with. with my other broods, there's brett. besides sharing the same attraction to both sexes, i think they'd actually be pretty good friends. brett's really care-free too, kind of grew up in her own setting other than a home. idk, i think they'd get along. and that's all i can think of for now since i'm kinda feeling dizzy from these pain meds i just took, but yeah, there's my two cents worth. =D

I'm glad you decided to use her and to make your screamer girl! 8D This could even inspire me to make that Paul Walker character I was debating on. x) But until then, well, DURRR. 8D She and Nate are going to have to be friends somehow. Nate's really accepting of anyone who believes in themselves and is truly happy doing what they're doing, so he would totally support her and would never be down on her fam or anything. So yah, we shall definitely have plottage with them. And if I do turn Paul Walker into one of my little Irish mobster boys then, WHAT WHAT? 8D

So I deleted Mark and I've deleted many before and I resisted the very strong urge to bring back Laura and Zack and Charlie and Jordin for the umpteenth million time So I feel like if I have this screamer, who's adorable, easy to plot with, hot, as well as a HS Male which the site needs, I think I have a right to... okay maybe not a right like my right to live or whatever but... entitled maybe is a better word? I don't know. But Gurms allowed me to to use the amazing Gaspard Ulliel whom I love. I find him very very attractive in a strange way. Hell he made Hannibal hot, that's almost impossible to do! But I have decided to run with it. Plus, he's already got a family.

Gunari is the romani name for Gunnar, so people usually call him Gun, which is ironic because he is in fact a pacifist believing in using violence only in defense. He happens to be the baby brother of one now local beauty, Fairuza Romani. He's 17, she's 18, not a big difference but whatever, he's treated like the baby by her, he is the youngest of the siblings. He was also the closest to Fair. They were always close, she vented to him about the impending marriage she so feared, he was that shoulder so he understood when she took off. But he did end up missing her. Now growing up, he was sort of the classic middle kid more than the youngest. Tried his best to keep people together, wasn't the one really causing problems, sort of festering inside as frustrations grew ((I'll have to get more specific, got to research more about this culture, unlike Amyra's culture which I've studied for an entire year now, lol)) He was another who felt trapped and after Fair ran away, things only worsened. He ended up leaving a few months after Fair. He tried to go after her but couldn't find where she had gone. He ended up being dumped very close to her.

He found himself in Paris where he was fortunate enough to earn money actually posing for artists, yes sometimes nude. He sometimes had a place to sleep, sometimes found shelter but he had enough to eat. He has a unique and handsome look people liked it. One artist couldn't afford to pay him, it was just a photo-shoot type thing, no nudes though and so the man gave Gun his first camera, an older Leika and the Boy instantly fell in love with it. The artist and him became friends and he taught him about different ways to develop the film for different effects. The he was to be moving on. He ended up in Nice, still in France, and tried to find shelter there at least for a bit. He brought his camera. He found a job cleaning up after drunkards at a bar, the owner was harsh but fair enough. As for a place to stay, he didn't have much. He ended up on the streets a couple times where he met an older man named Marion. Marion had posted an add for a boy to pose for a painting with a young lady. Having done similar things before for cash, Gun went. Marion was a nice older man. He seemed to like using Gun, gave him more work, paid him more than generously, even gave him a place to develop his film and rest his head. It was probably naive for this 15 almost 16 year old boy to do this but he was alone. It was the night after his 16th birthday when Marion forced himself onto Gun.

He wasn't the same after that, who would be? Gun wasn't sure if he was happy he got out of it alive because believe me, pacifist or not he tried to fight the larger man off. He had kind of hit an all time low, he was hungry, homeless, abused and his best friend was a leika camera. He left Nice and headed back to Paris where at least he had a friend in the artist who gave him his camera but when he arrived, the man had gone. His apartment still furnished as he learned of the kind artist's death. Gun squatted in the place for awhile, it took them months to even notice it was an apartment so well shitty. Gun spent his time not posing but cleaning places and then on his own art, as well as experimenting with drugs and woman. Part of him had to prove he was still and man and still attracted to females, not to himself but to the world. And he did, he got a fair amount of play with older woman in their 20s and 30s who didn't seem to care he was only 16. He never lied. But he was bored. He didn't like that life. He wanted more. He chose that he did want to have family around again but the idea of going back at that point was useless but maybe he could regain his search for fair. for the next three months leading up to his 17th birthday he worked and worked and worked his ass off, putting art on hold and ignoring anyone who tried to befriend or flirt. In his off time, he went through withdrawal, slept, vomited, scrounged for food, most of all tried to use public internet spaces to find any evidence of Fair.

On his 17th birthday he used some of the money had saved up and bought a video camera, a fairly nice digital one too, it was one sale. A short month later he found what he was looking for. Fair had used her passport and flown to America, a placed called Valkyrie California? But he knew where she was so go him. But he had just spent his savings on his camera so how would he get there? Not proud of this but instead of selling his camera, he stole. He did, he stole a woman's wallet, a tourist's wallet and grabbed the three hundred euros she had out for shopping before taking off. He took no credit cards, only cash. He didn't want to steel her identity. He wanted to get to America. And so he did. And that's why he's in Valkyrie, to be with his sister.

Oooo I like him! Besides, like you said, Gaspard is just yummy. lol I think he'd probably get on well with a number of my characters actually. London could always hire him to be her photographer since he needs money, and she'd like to help people although she's not open with admitting that. lol I think Sinclaire would like him (once I get her made) because they seem alike to me. They've both had lives that weren't easy, so I think they would understand each other. Wrynn would obviously love him because he's male. haha! I actually think it would be adorable if he was just her friend and maybe he started having feelings for her, and they slept together (b/c that's her style) but then he didn't want to sleep with her again because you said he would stop if he starting caring for someone? And then Wrynn would be all "Whaa?" lol It would actually make her stop and think for once. Besides, she needs a guy in her life who would actually make her stop and be herself that's on the inside - the scared girl who never shows herself to anyone.

Connor would probably just laugh at him for being a loser (you know him, he's a jerk lol), and Kahlan probably wouldn't run into him because she kinda just keeps to herself. Asher, however, would probably get along well with him because he sympathizes with the 'struggling artist' thing since he kinda still is one himself. I could see them being friends.

I hope some of my ideas will help you! I can't wait to see him around. He's just adorable.

yay for making my rounds!

so, i'm pretty sure i professed some of my love for him in the c-box last night. xD if not, HELLZANNA<3 i love the outsiders like sin, and gun is definitely one of my new favorites. apart from gaspard being epic as hell, i lovelovelove the sound of him. his history is so interesting, it breaks my heart. i can't lie, guys with his personality are the ones i get crushes on. so anyway, i'm going to have to be plotting with him. A&A productions, dude.

first thing, photographers ftw. i love them. so, we should definitely plot him with gray somehow. at the end of the day, they really are quite similar. except gray's life hasn't had any of those kinds of hardships; and he's pretty anti-life. but still. when your soul breaths photography, it's difficult to ignore. apart from gun's obvious history, gray would actually see a lot of himself in him. living in paris, to him, sucks. i don't have any real ideas, but i think a bonding over the epicness of french photography is on the table. following the fashion flingers, indie would be pretty 'o.O' over him. she thinks her brother is weird enough, a guy like gun would sort of stop her in her tracks. she's not used to people like him; she'd probably know best to just avoid him, rofl. if that makes any sense.

apart from that nameless word vomit, i really want to plot him with more. a number of my characters could be interesting, so i'll probably name off random ones until something doesn't sound completely fail. him and kiran could always be interesting; a few things in common that don't really make sense to me. when reading his profile, a few things just struck as familiar with her. he's the kind of person she's always sort of aspired to be; all artistic and quitely brilliant. she's damn far off, but yeah. out of my characters, the ones who probably have the most in common with him, apart from gray, are probably shay or november. both are very artistic, preferring to be on the calmer side of things. november shares his insomnia sort of fears, especially in the last few months, over the drama with her brothers. she's a lot like him, but just sort of sabotages herself to be the dark!side. never being around people, not trusting them, that sort of thing. he'd take her off guard, what with being a decent human being and all. okay yeah, so no real actual ideas. -_- this is probably one of my more useless replies. gag. sorry \:

ANNAAAAAA. i love you. even more than i did before. because gun and cat have an obscene amount of really really cute manips out there. i love it. so we obviously need to plot them up the wazoo. cat would really like him, i think. he'd probably be one of the few people she hardly ever wants to maim or harm in some way or another. i don't really have a lot of specific plot ideas right this second, we can think of stuff later, but they should be one of those pairs that is just really cute and amazing.

aw i love the sound of him. first and foremost i think he would get along with graham amazingly. graham is quiet and all but they've lived similar lives minus the drugs and women. he's been beaten by foster fathers, the last one he ran away from he'd beaten the man for trying to push himself on him, stole his car, and ran. he's lived on the streets and all that. graham just had no where else to go and wasn't in the kind of places where he could make the most of it. i think these two could get along realy well, not necessarily swap sob stories, but graham would understand gun probably better than just about anyone else could.

hmm, dunno how carly would be around him. i think she'd take a shining to him if she saw him on a good day when he was goofy and all that. she's getting to the point where she's actually making friends so that's a plus, but i think she'd really like gun. maggie's bad news, as usual, but more so because she sells drugs and that would be a huge temptation for him. i can maybe see him debating buying from her in a moment of weakness and maggie see's the struggle and makes the decision for him? like she won't sell to him and sends him on his way for his own good? no clue, that's up to you. j.r. might scare him, dunno. sarai wouldn't meet him unless he came to the hospital for some reason. rowan would care about him off the bat but she might intimidate him with how fiercely loyal she can be when just first meeting people.
