REED LEE ,I'M SO FAR BETWEEN I CAN BUY YOU FLOWERS AND I CAN MAKE YOU SCREAM I CAN BE NICE, YES, I CAN BE MEAN I CAN DO YOU DIRTY AND I CAN DO YOU CLEAN----------------------------- ----REED TURNER was finally in his element. the freshly turned nineteen year old had never been so content with his life. happy? not quite. but saying content was the equivalent of being happy for reed turner. not that he was ready to admit to anyone [even his brothers and bevin] but for the past month reed had been seeing a therapist. shocking, right? yes, very much so. but his senior year had been one big stress ball after another. not to mention, when a certain ex-wife of his skipped town for good, she unknowingly took a big part of him. he wanted that part of him back and talking to a complete stranger he knew he wouldn't hear 'it's ok' from, sounded like a pretty good idea. strange the way reed thought. but it helped him none the less. then there was taking time to start the rest of his life.
he finally had his bar. him and seth worked on it for pretty much the entire summer. and now there was the getting the hot girls to work there. brett was game, claiming she needed a job to pay rent and for school. yeah, sure, reed couldn't say no to brett. not because he's known her forever, but because he'd probably lose one of his testicles if he said no to her. so that was one employee. so now reed and seth were in the process of interviewing girls to be their coyotes. maybe they were dicks that rule number one was that they had to be hot. who'd want to get served with ugly chicks? rule number two was... well, if they were hot, everything else might just fall into place. that was really their only rule. they didn't want too many girls. sounded funny, too many girls. but they had to have some regular girls coming in every night, so customers came back for certain women. reed picked that up when he was bartending at underneath. men threw down a lot more money when they saw their favorite girl every time they went there. amazing what you picked up on at the strip club.
the cherry on top of his summer had to be moving out of his apartment. that dirty pigsty in the middle of a meth-lab infested building was no longer where the middle turner lived. instead, he moved into the apartment above the club. it was nicer, but no nice bachelor pad either. it was doable for him though. and there was a staircase leading up to it in the employees' room as well as in the back alley. it was nice living about the place you owned. made it easier. even if riley was still leasing the building until reed was a little older, it was all his. reed hadn't managed a bar since his nonsense days. that felt forever ago. even if he technically wasn't the manager of nonsense, he'll say to this day, that he ran that place. it wasn't even his fault that the place had a huge drug bust in january. damn lazy owner. so, reed went to jail for a couple weeks while everything was getting figured out and his parents raised enough money make his bail.
reed's big comeback was right before graduation when he threw the huge beach party in the shaks. and then it was finally recognize that people that reed was re-emerging from this little hole he dug himself after ashley dumped him. the old read was back though. even though it was a summer of hook-ups, reed and nikki still were dating. maybe she knew, or maybe she was still clueless. he liked nikki, he did. and sometimes hanging with her was a nice change from being around the people he knew and were friends with. a change of pace a few times a week was nice. sometimes though, he wished she would just catch him cheating by now. would make it easier. as much as a jerk reed could be, somewhere in his heart he'd feel bad if he broke up with her. well, maybe not, but the cheating part would. he felt she deserved better than someone like him. they were too different anyway to ever really work as a couple.
having coffee and a cigarette for breakfast, reed wanted to get a jump start on the interviewing process. the previous day, he called some girls for an interview, said they should come by the next day, which was now today. going down the stairs of the employee's room, he went to the front door of the club and unlocked it so the first person could just come on in. after opening some of the blinds, reed went back down a small hall which house two small yet nice offices. two for the two crazy boys running the place. reed went into his, a couple chairs sitting in front of his brown wooden desk. he sat down, rummaging through the files. he swore, first good chunk of money, he was buy computers or something for his and seth's office, because the disorganization reed held showed all over his desk. he found the folder he was looking for and opened it up. it was the list of interviews he was in charge of today. the first one was a girl named carly sutton. he looked at the digital clock on his desk. so, the first one would be here in fifteen minutes. reed inhaled the rest of his cigarette carefully, putting it into the ashtray next to the clock. he kept the coffee on his desk as he went back into the main bar room, ready to greet the hopefully hot girl.

CARLY ISABELLE SUTTONBAD SEEDS, MORNING, AUGUST 2009 -----carly frowned as the loud whoosh from the hair dryer filled her ears and drowned out the radio which had serendipitously been playing throughout her shower. the girl lived through music. her unoccupied hand reached out and turned the knob on the radio, cranking the music loud enough to be heard over the hairdryer. a smile played over her lips in satisfaction. she dried in a black tank top and lacy black boyshorts happy that the house was empty of other occupants. carly was the only one ever even near the house during the day. the rest of her family all worked ridiculous jobs with ridiculous shifts. caroline isabelle sutton, carly for short, rocked to the pounding rhythm of the music. she was likely pissing off any neighbors who were still home but she didn't really care. she had to psyche herself up for this job interview and no snot-nosed neighbors with sensitive ears were going to keep her from doing what she had to do in order to be ready. after all this was a teenager's dream job. no one wanted to spend their years flipping burgers or hanging around a store watching other people shop. a teenager wanted a job that was at least halfway decent, maybe even glamorous, and least of all fun. this job was the culmination of all three and in all truth, it was carly's dream job. it wasn't just a part time thing stick-around-until-college kind of job. it was something carly could see herself doing for a long time. something that would no doubt keep a smile on her face.
-----this possible jog was so much different than anything her family had yet to come up with. they all labored hard for long, torturous hours. charles was a great example of that. the aging man was a construction worker who literally worked from dawn to dusk heaving heavy materials and hammering away until he returned home and collapsed into his recliner, falling asleep amongst the chatter of his family. emilia was the same, working as a seamstress for a clothing factory. sewing day in and day out, pricking her fingers and working until her hands felt worn down to nubs. it was the one strength that emilia had played off of when the family became destitute and she had to find work wherever she could. she was a fabulous seamstress and probably better than majority of the designers out there today. she probably would have been a designer as well if she hadn't had to drop out of college to help support her family. penny, carly's only sister and the youngest triplet, was a waitress. she hated the job because the men were a little too grabby, the pay was a little too low, and she came home every day just a little too dirty, but it was her job and one she would stick out until something better came along. nate and greg were the first suttons to leave home. nate got a job as a mechanic and moved into the room above the garage where he worked. at least it was a job he loved. greg worked in alaska offshore on a fishing boat. his trips were long and equally dangerous, but his money was generously helping the family get by, something he didn't mind helping with since he still had a room to come back to after every trip.
-----it was hard not to let things get the best of you when your life was suddenly as hard as what carly and her family had been forced into. to have the life that had been handed to you on a silver platter torn out of your hands, given back in shambles. the sutton family had made the best of it though. the money problems, the move, and the public disgrace had done nothing but bring both parents and children closer together. through their loss they found faith in one another and their ability to still be a family after all was said and done. they hadn't been angry about what they'd lost, they'd almost been thankful. the triplets had grown up quicker than they should have, forced to go out and get jobs rather young to help support the family, and of course to take care of younger carly. but they had something now that they wouldn't have had if they'd still been in the shadows of a rich life. they would have been pampered with butlers and cooks and most likely would have drifted so far apart that it was practically a crime. nowadays her family was all that carly really had to rely on. she didn't trust anyone other than her mother and father, brothers and sister. they'd stood by her during the worst of times and they hadn't betrayed her like most others had. her family was not only the people closest to her, because that was rare, they were also her best friends. no one knew her like emilia or penny. no one protected her and stood by her like charles, nate, or greg. to an extent they were part of the reason why carly didn't make moves to make more friends and let strangers back into her life. she didn't need them with such fantastic people behind her and supporting her.
-----since that wasn't changing anytime soon, carly wasn't up for making friends. but she was dead set on getting this job. once her hair was dry carly sauntered into the room that she still shared with her sister, rummaging through her closet for something to wear. professional was out of the question. she'd never wear suits or anything if she didn't have to. the more leg the better, that was her motto. carly slid into a tight pair of black denim shorts and slid an off-the-shoulder sweatshirt on over her cami. a pink belt around her middle, bangles on her wrists, and earrings in her ears and she was just about ready to go. carly twirled in front of the mirror for a moment. something was missing. what was it? she fluffed her hair as she though, the lightbulb flashing above her head as she finally figured it out. with a smirk carly snuck into her brother's room and snagged his gray pinstripe fedora. she tilted it a little on her head, scrunched her curls into just the right position, and was satisfied enough to walk through the door. she slid into her shoes and sashayed out the door. it didn't take her long to get to the bar, sliding into the darker room and giving her eyes a second to adjust. she noticed a younger man coming up from the back and smirked. "oh honey if you're my future boss then we may have a problem." she whispered just loud enough for herself to hear as she walked further inside, the smirk still on her lips. "the name's carly. i have an interview today." she said cocking an eyebrow as she sized him up. she couldn't help it, it was just what carly did that made her who she was. she just found it hard to believe that this guy would be her boss. could she be that lucky? chances were the answer was no.

REED LEE ,I'M SO FAR BETWEEN I CAN BUY YOU FLOWERS AND I CAN MAKE YOU SCREAM I CAN BE NICE, YES, I CAN BE MEAN I CAN DO YOU DIRTY AND I CAN DO YOU CLEAN----------------------------- ----HE WAS THINKING about what his therapist said. she told him that keeping himself busy would distract him with thoughts of ashley. it was hard, at first. but with the finishing touches on the bar made him... feel better about himself. like he now again had something to live for. it was hard at first, sure. and he soon realized how the pain in his chest hurt a lot, but slowly it was leaving his body and he felt great every morning when he woke up. life was just too short to wallow in the wake of one girl leaving you, no matter how much you thought they completed you. reed had to list all the things he was grateful for through out the day. a place to live, family that would do anything for him [or a few of them], a job, friends that cared... saying these things made him realize that he had a lot of things going for them, it was just hard to appreciate all good things, even if they were a million, versus a pretty shitty problem he had.
somehow as reed got happier, his older brother, riley, was getting more irritated. reed went over a couple days before today and he was in such a sour mood, reed never saw riley so on edge. for as much as reed shared with riley, riley sure liked to keep mum about a lot of things going on in his life. first, he refused to share who beat the shit out of him. he didn't even try using 'falling down the stairs' as an excuse for a split 'needed stitches' eyebrow, black eye, bruised ribs, and well, bruised everything. then he wants to go to the drag races, because as we all know, going to an illegal drag race event is so riley. after that night, reed saw him again this time with a bruised jaw. then riley's roommate, zack, comes back from wherever. which didn't bother reed at all, just that it didn't seem the same zack that left. out of all the secretiveness, riley seems to get some smoking hot college girl that he may or may not be dating [because riley was never into just fucking.] so now, riley wasn't telling him why he kept getting hurt, who the mystery girl was, and why he was always so agitated and angry for something. it kind of stressed out reed because he never saw riley so worked up over this stuff. that twenty-two year old could handle anything... or some reed thought. he guessed everyone had their weaknesses. though, the almost college senior better get his shit together because no way reed was being the older brother.
it was only a few minutes after he emerged himself from the back rooms to hear the front door open and a dark-haired girl walk in. she mumbled something to herself he couldn't make out. however, then she said something he did hear, "the name's carly. i have an interview today." carly was hot. instant points from reed for just being blessed with good genetics. he walked up to her, switching some folders into one arm and stuck out a hand to give her a strong shake. "carly, awesome. i'm reed. i own it," the slightly strong irish accent rolled from his tongue as he gave her the reed turner smile. he motioned towards the bar and said, "we can start over there." he offered her a stool as he walked around behind the bar and put down all his folders, looking for her application. he couldn't find it. damn. reed needed to be more organized for all this shit to run smoothly. "sutton..." he muttered under his breath as he flipped through the applications in alphabetically order. ah wait. now that her last name was mulling over in his brain did he remember. he smirked looking at her. "carly sutton. you're the seventeen year old." it made much more sense now. on all the applications, it clearly said '18 years and older' so when they got an application of a seventeen year old, reed had to admit, he was intrigued that this girl knew about the age rule and chose to ignore it. it only slightly reminded him of himself, since he was pretty young when he moved out on his own, got a job, etc. i mean look. reed only just turned nineteen and he was opening a bar. it was crazy.
"you know, actually, we kept your application back in my office. if you could just... follow me." he was only slightly embarrassed of his unpreparedness of the interview. speaking of interviews, he had only done a few and they all kind of were improv questions. he opened the door to his office for her and let her go in first. "sorry about the mess. still moving in, sorta." he chuckled and went behind his desk. "anyway, while i find it, try and convince me on hiring a seventeen year old?" it felt weird to say 'hire.' then again, it felt weird to be in a position like this. interviewing people for his bar. sounding like an adult, even though he's legally been one since seventeen [according to the emancipation documents] he was only now actually feeling somewhat responsible and mature, somewhat. nice. about ten seconds after he asked her the question he saw it underneath his ashtray. the application. reed pulled it out from underneath, sat down and flatten it with his hands. ok, great, now he could give her his full attention.

CARLY ISABELLE SUTTONBAD SEEDS, MORNING, AUGUST 2007 -----carly absolutely loved dancing. could you blame her? first of all it was all she'd known since she started out on a cheerleading squad in middle school. she'd always been the person to go to when you needed a little edge to a routine or needed some help with a move. she loved the way that dancing was universal. it was the same everywhere even if the dances were different. you could go from one corner of the globe to another and somehow, someway you would find people dancing. and the various types! you had you classical dancing, foxtrot, waltz, etc. on one end and had such modern dancing styles as contemporary, hip hop, crumping. you name it, there was always some kind of style for you. now not everyone had the ability to dance, as sad as that was. there were a few very strange people out there who were better off not dancing, or they're likely to hurt themselves or someone else, but for the most part everyone had the ability. carly certainly had the ability and then some. she wasn't just the kind of girl who liked sneaking into a club or going to a party just to grind up on some guy. she actually moved. she did more than just get super close to a guy and feel his body up against hers. yes that was dancing, but there was so many other kinds that interested her. she could move, shake her hips, she could get down to the floor and work it with ease. there was no doubt in carly's mind that she was a fantastic dancer. it was what she'd always focused on. if dancing couldn't get her where she wanted to go then she was in trouble.
-----so getting this job here at bad seeds was worth the effort. it was worth applying to even though she knew she was underage. because if they were hiring based on talent, well age simply wouldn't be an issue. carly didn't have an issue with telling this boss man that either. she wouldn't hesitate to tell him that if he didn't hire her, he was pretty much an idiot. she watching him like a hawk, a smirk still on her lips as the guy switched his things from one hand to the other and stuck his hand out for hers. she extended her hand, her gaze never leaving his. "nice to meet you reed and that's a bit of a relief." carly really didn't want to apply to this place just to have some skeezy old guy want to hire her in the hopes of feeling her up. having seen her possible boss' smirk, she couldn't help but to think that she really wouldn't mind this guy feeling her up. in fact...she kind of wanted him to. she walked with him over to the bar, seating herself and crossing one slender, tanned leg over the other. as she watched him scour through file after file, carly couldn't help but to chuckle. definitely new to the business. carly wasn't even a pro around these parts but you could just tell. she watched him look up at her and smirk, like the light was coming on in his brain. "bingo." she said with a chuckle. "i understand that the age limit is eighteen, but you'd be making a big mistake if you passed me up." she said with all the confidence in the world. she knew that every word coming out of her mouth was the truth. she didn't have a tenancy to lie, even when the truth was brutal. she was sick of lying after the way it had come back to bite her before she came to valkyrie.
-----carly slid off the bar stool and followed after reed toward the back of the bar. why oh why did her mind get all these devilish little images in her head? she smiled to herself as she followed him to the office door, brushing past him and inside as he gestured for her to go first. she found a chair and seated herself, just watching him as he searched his cluttered desk for her file. she didn't say a thing as he apologized, simply chuckled a little. she waited for him to find her application before she said anything. she wanted his full attention. it wasn't until he sat down and got settled in that she crossed one leg over the other once more, her tanned thigh no doubt flashing him in the shorts she was wearing. "it's simple, reed. i may be underage but i dance like i'm legal." she said with a confident smirk, trying hard not to flash him a full on smile. "i bet you anything you like that i am a better dancer than any girl you could possibly interview today, or any girl you've already hired." with that she pushed herself out of her chair and walked around his desk coming within a few feet of reed. "i could show you just how good of a dancer i am. that what you're looking for?" she asked with yet another smirk as she closed the space, her hands snaking up his arms to his shoulders. she rolled her body, her face coming within inches of his, her lips barely grazing his earlobe as she whispered in his ear. "hire me, under the table if it suits you, but i promise you..." she trailed off, pulling back before she really lost control of herself. she took a few steps back, smiling. "you won't regret it."
-----she gestured for him to join her with a curl of her finger, stepping in once more and taking his hand, pulling him out of the chair. once reed was upright carly really got to dancing instead of just tempting her future boss. yes she was saying it. carly was confident that she would have the job. if this guy didn't hire her, he was an idiot. she rolled her hips, rocking her body, and showed him just a preview of the moves she could make, which she executed perfectly if she did say so herself. what she hadn't intended was finishing her little display face to face with reed. immediately awareness flooded her and carly took a slight step back. she instantly recovered, her untouchable facade coming back to her lips as her gaze locked on reed's. "what do you say?" carly said cocking her eyebrow in curiosity as she waited for him to finally speak.

REED LEE ,I'M SO FAR BETWEEN I CAN BUY YOU FLOWERS AND I CAN MAKE YOU SCREAM I CAN BE NICE, YES, I CAN BE MEAN I CAN DO YOU DIRTY AND I CAN DO YOU CLEAN----------------------------- ----REED NEVER UNDERSTOOD why he was on that mystery blogger's list. all his life, he was told he wasn't important. to say reed had father issues was an understatement. he hadn't talked to his father since last year. you'd think that'd tear the family apart but when it came to his relationships with his brothers, it didn't change a thing. it broke his mother's heart though. she'd sometimes send reed money and food when reed was first starting out on his own in his own apartment. but, eventually reed started refusing the help because it wasn't like he was truly on his own. he was still, a nobody. someone who was a womanizing, emancipated screw-up at seventeen. reed didn't even really have a computer when the blogging bitch came to town. he caught wind from daphne, who of course, was on there too. reed had to guess that maybe because he was one of those popular guys... at least down in the shaks because more times than not, he rarely had a penny to his name. then, with everything that happened to him his senior year generated a lot of attention. pregnancy, car accidents, marriage, jail, divorce... the list could go on. it just seemed funny. reed was someone that someone else thought the need to follow and watch. flattering too. but with this new business, he hoped he wasn't going to leave a scandalous life anymore. felt too high school and reed wanted to put a big big space between him and high school.
"i understand that the age limit is eighteen, but you'd be making a big mistake if you passed me up." it felt like a line right out of the movies. some girl coming to an unknown town looking for work. either finding something at a diner, bar, or strip club. too bad valkyrie wasn't one of 'those towns' and carly at least looked like she was still in high school and not a drop out. speaking of, reed had never seen her before. he generally knew girls that lived down here [because he knew she wasn't a valk girl... why would they waste their time working here?] or at least a recognition of the family name. reed's lived here all his life, so he knew the neighborhood fairly well. since most families don't ever move up the social ladder or move out of the city, the last names are very common to learn and remember. and since reed didn't know her until now or ever here the last name of 'sutton' he was guessing she was new to valkyrie. fresh meat? she was starting out right being here, that was for sure.
once they were both seated in his office and reed stopped jumbling and shuffling everything around his desk, he focused his eyes on her. and they were definitely on her, because she was hot. his eyes focusing on her mile-long legs as she crossed them. "it's simple, reed. i may be underage but i dance like i'm legal." he looked back at her face, forgetting that he was interviewing her and not checking her out as he was doing moments before. "you do now?" he asked her putting his elbows on his desk. man, was it getting harder and harder to keep in mind that he was interviewing her. she told him that she was probably the best dancer he would get. that made him think about what would brett do if carly said that in front of her. brett would probably march over there and rip off one of carly's dangling pink earrings. reed didn't know why he was thinking of what brett would do to her... maybe it was distracting him of what he wanted to do to her. "i could show you just how good of a dancer i am. that what you're looking for?" before he knew it, she had walked around to his side of the desk. his chair was one of those wheel ones, so he turned it so he was facing her. "i... don't think that would be such a bad idea." he didn't feel like a pervert-y old boss because one- he wasn't overweight wearing a wife beater and two- he was still only two years older than her.
his heart pace quickened a little bit with excitement as her hands were on his arms, traveling to his shoulders. it was barely short of a lap dance, reed was sure of it. it wasn't even noon and he had a girl giving him a lap dance. it was sad to say that he could definitely be getting use to this. she whispered in his ear that he could just hire her under the table. she pulled herself off of him and finished with a "you won't regret it." no he wouldn't, that was for sure. he could hire her right now and be done with it. but he wanted to enjoy this a little bit more. lucky for him, she wasn't done yet either. she took his hand, and pulled him out of his chair and started dancing more. she did numerous more body rolls as she shook her hips. it was kind of hard to watch and not want to grab her hips and grind together to songs in their head. she ended with her face in his. he smirked as he cocked his head to the side. they were close enough for her to get uncomfortable and back up a step. "what do you say?" he stood up straighter and crossed his hands across his chest. "you were hired when you jumped me in the chair. the rest was just for my own personal entertainment." he smirked again as he looked down at her application, looking at nothing in particular. "you're new around town, aren't you?"

CARLY ISABELLE SUTTONBAD SEEDS, MORNING, AUGUST 2007 -----getting down and dirty. it was a form of art and it was one art form that carly had mastered. she was great at getting what she wanted. she knew it, she embraced it, hell she even exploited it every once in a while when she really felt the need. sure carly was practical. she knew that she couldn't always get her way. she couldn't always tempt someone into bed or get drinks for free, but she had the best times simply trying. she never tried to hard, and she never came across as desperate. desperate was needy and carly was anything but needy. no instead she was very zen. very go with the flow. she had fun going out at night and having a good time while her working family slept like rocks from being over exhausted. she sounded like such a spoiled brat did she not? but that was carly's cover. it was the mask that she wore. it was the mask of battle scars both mental and physical that she wore and culminated into something that hid the real caroline sutton from the world. this...this mask. the mask was carly. her family, though they knew her as carly, the person that they saw, the only person they witnessed, was caroline. her family was the best of her, and she was the worst of them. it was a horrible realization when you thought about it. any family should have given up on her by now and pegged her as the useless waste of space and rebellion that she came across as. they hadn't. through the incident before her birth and through her pregnancy her family had stood by her side when they should have given up on her. that was why they deserved to see the real carly, the one no one else had the right to see.
-----so yes. what reed saw before him was all one very strategic, one very good cover. she knew that she pushed her own boundaries every once in a while but she never really let herself fall. she'd kept up this facade for a few months now and so far other than the random temptation she was doing a solid job of not letting a soul in. and no one had. no one at the new school that she was attending, that had just opened up for the fall. no one partying on the beach and trying to feel her up. no one in the coffee shop asking her why she chose to read tolstoy instead of stephanie meyer. not a soul was allowed in and if carly had anything to say about it, that would be the way it always was. thankfully she kept her life with her family relatively secret. no one knew her so they were bound not to know her relatively large family. they didn't see how carly changed around any of the triplets or around her mother or father. they didn't see her eyes light up or her body relax. they didn't see her let down her guard nor did they see her turn off the cold shoulder. had they seen the way carly was around her family they would have seen her embrace someone for the first time and really, actually mean it. sure carly could hug someone, hell she could even kiss a guy, but she would never feel in the most intimate of touches the emotions she felt when she saw her family again and even just squeezed a sibling's dirtied, worn hand. the two people that carly had become, the family girl and the newcomer, were both so totally different that you would swear she was two different people if you didn't see her change before your very eyes.
-----but her family life was hidden from everyone, along with just about every other detail of her life. still, hiding herself away was out of the question which brings me back to why carly was even here in the first place, dancing for her first job. she didn't mind it as she thought she would have before. especially since before she figured she'd be dancing for some drooling old pervert who started this club to get his rocks off away from some tacky, animal print wearing, loud mouthed wife. she'd seen the type over and over again, heard of them too, but that was mostly in the strip joint business. though being a coyote was borderline, it still wasn't stripping which made carly a very, very happy teenager. and yes, she was a newly hired teenager, a fact that put a brilliant smile on her lips the moment she'd heard the words coming from reed's lips. "good to hear boss." she said with a smirk as she relaxed into her chair a tad more. knowing she had the job gave her a little more confidence than she'd had before, making her only the slightest bit dangerous. not in a lethal, haha i'll kill you kind of way, but in a ohh this could get ugly fat kind of way. "sounds like you know what you want and you go for it. that's a good quality in a boss, and in a man." she gently breezed her tongue across her lips not to tempt him but to tame yet another devious smirk. she really had to tone that down. she was giving herself away far too easily.
-----carly mildly ignored his question for a moment as she stood, sauntering over to him once more and turning his swiveling chair in her direction. boldly, very boldly, she eased herself onto his lap, her legs draping over the armrest as she made herself comfortable. "mhm" she whispered, brushing her fingers through her hair before she continued. "moved here a little under two weeks ago." she feigned disinterest even though she felt the tingle of little sparks wherever their bodies meshed together. carly had to admit that it was a very nice tingle indeed. "speaking of being new to town..." her gaze swept over him until their eyes locked, looking for the faintest sign of...what was it? something? in his eyes. "what does a girl have to do around here to have a little fun. you can only skinny dip in the ocean so many times before it loses it's luster. got any ideas?" she was genuinely asking even though the tone of her voice betrayed that pretty wall. she didn't want to do everything fun within the first month and have nothing left to do for the rest of whoever long she stuck around this town. sure she didn't know what she was doing after she got out of school or turned eighteen, but that was still about a year away. she was in need of a year's worth of distractions and she wasn't all that great at coming up with them all herself. maybe her delectable new boss man could help her out and give her a push in the right direction?

REED LEE ,I'M SO FAR BETWEEN I CAN BUY YOU FLOWERS AND I CAN MAKE YOU SCREAM I CAN BE NICE, YES, I CAN BE MEAN I CAN DO YOU DIRTY AND I CAN DO YOU CLEAN----------------------------- ----THIS WAS THE REED that everyone had come to know. he didn't exactly know if slipping back into his old habits was exactly a good thing. it was just what he knew and all that crap he went through the last semester of high school to 'find himself' seemed all the worth it right now sitting in his office of his bar. reed was kind of happy the old him was back. none of this sappy romantic crap he got himself into last year. the rough, careless, irish boy was back. so, watch out for heavy drinking and even heavier smoking. reed's trademark, you know? the old him felt so long ago. how could it be that his entire senior year was consumed with lady drama and tears? he was use to chick fights over him at bonfires. not him getting in fist fights at a new year's party over a girl. he liked to say that he was himself when he threw the 'hey valkyrie reed turner's back on the map' house party back in may. but he had to say this little scenario right here was about as reed as it was going to get. he had a super hot brunette using her assets to make him hire her. reed liked to think he had that power but really? the boy was a sucker for temptation and beautiful girls.
he and seth hadn't really hired too many girls yet. and some were friends. usually after you were hired they just took the girl's numbers and said they'd call them when they were ready to train them. hey, from the coyote ugly bar reed convinced riley to go into on their way down to nevada, you actually had to do more than dance on a bar. you had to serve the drinks and like know what you are doing. seth and him didn't exactly know how they were going to do that, since they weren't going to go up and dance on the bar and teach the girls. besides, reed believed they had 'dancing on tables' down pat. since every girl they've hire thus far had been to parties before. parties reed had been to, so he saw stuff. and if they never danced on tables, they danced on the floor. there wasn't much of a difference besides you were four feet or so higher than everyone else. but with a rather seducing performance by carly, he didn't really want to let her go just yet. "sounds like you know what you want and you go for it. that's a good quality in a boss, and in a man." reed smirked, nodding. "thanks," he said. "i could say the exact same thing about you."
reed sat back down in front of his desk and moved her application into the folder where they were putting all the girls' that they hired applications. they were doing good so far though if all the remaining girls were like carly, they'd be overstaffed for sure. was it hard to choose some. since reed didn't want have to deal with the whiney girls that might cry if reed didn't hire them he would tell them he'd call them later if they got the job. that way, he didn't have to deal with the girls that would cry or something girly. it could happen and reed wasn't prepared for something like that. what he also wasn't prepared for was round two in the chair. with ease, carly sat down in his lap, her long legs over the arm rest. this... was definitely nice. he draped his arm over her legs so that his hand was on her outer thigh, like he was a pro at this. like you know, girls sat in his lap all the time. she told him she just moved here. well, he was right about that. he wondered about all the other trouble she had already gotten into because girls like this don't stay quiet for two weeks.
the rotating chair squeaked slightly with the weight, though reed was sure nothing would happened to it. "speaking of being new to town..." he cocked his head to the side. his eyes were slightly squinted as a hidden smile was displayed on his lips like he was curious to see what she was going to say. reed wondered what would happen if someone walked in. though, it would be nearly impossible for someone to come in. the next interviewee wouldn't be in for another hour and a half and like seth would come in today. if someone were to walk in how bad it would look. since as much as reed would want to bang his employees he at least wanted to look like a stand-up business. not a bar where everyone knew that everyone was doing each other. "what does a girl have to do around here to have a little fun. you can only skinny dip in the ocean so many times before it loses it's luster. got any ideas?" his hand was casually caressing her thigh as he listened to her. might as well enjoy it, right? "well, you are already with me and though i'll get over not being able to skinny dip... i think we can find a way to pass the time." little did she know everything to have a party was right here in the bar. there was the booze, the music, a very nice apartment with a bed right up the stairs, and then of course, reed himself who was starting to enjoy himself and his job now a little to much. "let's see," he said slowly, his face getting closer to hers, "i got a bottle of jack in the other room and a bar where you can show me more of your moves."

CARLY ISABELLE SUTTONBAD SEEDS, MORNING, AUGUST 2007 -----god this was turning out to be a good day. getting up later than the rest of the family, getting her first job, getting her dream job actually, and having the best time with her new boss. thank god this didn't bother her. but how could it? i mean really. reed was gorgeous and he had the kind of devilish charm that just drew her in like a moth to flame. sure he tried to hide it by being as professional as he could manage from the moment she walked through that door, but reed was a devious little charmer. she'd had him pegged the moment she'd laid eyes on him and so far reed was doing just about everything but proving her wrong. she liked him. that much was a given. because if she hadn't, carly probably wouldn't have worked so hard to get it, nor would she be in his lap this very moment. to a point she admired him as well. he was young and he was starting a business of his own. that took a lot of guts and a lot of putting your neck and money on the line. unless of course it was someone else's money. now that would just be laughable. seeing as how carly couldn't afford to do such a thing herself she still found herself admiring reed for what he was doing, regardless of where the funding could come from. she didn't know, she didn't care. she had a job and that was all that mattered. finally she would have something to do with her spare time. school was a drag, of course it was, it was high school. she easily passed all the classes up north and nothing was bound to change in valkyrie.
-----because she'd been such a crazy party-er, and because she'd screwed up her life so royally, you wouldn't have expected carly to be smart. in truth she wasn't all that much different from everyone else, she could just retain things better than your average joe shmoe high school student. she'd been one of the 'good cheerleaders' in school. good grades, active in charities, fundraisers, and other school events. she was big around school because education in general was a snore. despite being out of her classes sixty percent of the time, if carly skimmed over a chapter the day before a test she passed with no problem at all. maybe she was a closet genius, maybe she was just lucky, or maybe the schools in keizer, oregon just sucked that much. she didn't care. all she knew was that there was little in school that was a challenge to her. it was why the nightlife and party scene had had just a magnetic effect on her. people provided the kind of challenge that teachers just couldn't give. people were difficult. sure some were easily pegged and easily stereotyped, but there were the rarer few who were difficult. they could fit the mold but surprise you or they fit into no mold whatsoever. that was why she partied, that was how she'd gotten into so much trouble. she'd needed the challenge and found it somewhere other than the local classroom. carly didn't believe that valkyrie was going to be any different here. sure some of the teachers may be a little harder, sure some may load you down with homework or even have the gumption enough to try to reach out to students, but a high school was a high school was a high school. the possibility that valkyrie was so out of her league that she might even be challenged was slim to none.
-----the warm sensations that carly felt brushing up against her thigh brought her back to reality. a smile crept over her lips once more. he was making himself comfortable that was for sure, and she couldn't help herself. she liked it. reed seemed genuinely interested in what she had to say. what a crock. she wasn't about to fall for that bit of an act, though she was happy to still play along. his hand began to caress her thigh and carly found herself having to concentrate on what it was that reed was now saying. jack? tempting. he obviously didn't care that she was underage, that or he'd forgotten which was more likely to be the case. well if he didn't care she sure as hell didn't. the distance between them slowly began to close, oh this was bound to get good. carly leaned in just a bit more, closing the gap and acting as though she was about to give in and just kiss him, but moments before their lips would touch she spoke, whispered rather, "now that sounds like my kind of party. let's go boss man. i'll show you how i toss." carly had her fair share of 'bartending' experience, though calling it such was a bit of a stretch. she'd dished out drinks at parties for those backwoods girls who liked to pretend they were the shit and order things that they made up in hollywood and named after some starlet. losers. everyone else was happy with a bottle of beer or a shot of something stronger but these prissy little things had to have drinks with fruity little names and umbrellas. what a waste of good liquor. still, it gave her the kind of experience that could make carly valuable to bad seeds. the kind of thing that made bosses like reed want to keep her around. the kind of thing that made her more than just a piece of ass.
-----his breath was warm against her lips but carly avoided the temptation. instead she took his hand and eased off his lap, slow to rise. she had him trailing after her as she walked from the office to the bar. when she was just a few feet away carly let go of reed's hand and quickened her pace. she patted the bar stool before she turned her back on the bar and hoisted herself up so that she was sitting atop it. she then spun and slid to the floor. just like that she was behind the bar. "impressive. i like it." carly could definitely see herself getting comfortable back here. she took stock of what went where for a moment before she latched onto a full bottle of jack daniels and two shot glasses. she set the shot glasses down on the bar and tossed the bottle into the air, spinning it and catching it with ease, not a drop spilled. with a chuckle she poured two shots and slid one to reed. "the parties used to get boring. i had to find some way to spice things up." she explained with a falsely innocent smile. "besides, making a show of the drinks is the best way to get kids drunk. it makes things more fun in half the time it would usually take." how true it was. guys usually couldn't resist her drinks, especially when carly showed off the way she usually did. the most fun part was seeing other girls try to mimic her once they'd had a drink too many. it wasn't as easy as carly made it look, doubly so when hammered, and it always made for a good laugh. "so reed, why a bar?" carly asked as she grabbed her shot and downed it like a pro. she was oddly curious. sure someone with reed's many...talents could find something other than starting up a bar in some town just a hop, skip, and jump away from los angeles. something had to be keeping her here, and carly wanted to know what.
