MAEGHAN HARRIS, - - - - - YOU CAN'T ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU WANT BUT IF YOU TRY SOMETIMES YOU JUST MIGHT FIND you get what you need- - - - - "Son of a fucking bitch." Maeghan Chystal Harris cursed aloud, earning herself a horrified glare from some lady pushing a pram. Well excuse her but it was a free country and she could swear if she wanted to. And certainly right now in this current situation. Standing in the terminal of the airport, Maeghan scanned the room for her brother's face. Despite not seeing him since she was about thirteen, she knew exactly what he looked like thanks to the countless tabloid magazines that littered the dorms of her friends in boarding school. There were so many obsessed Dustin fans that it was nearly sickening. Luckily thanks to his latest scandal that Maeghan had been reading about in full detail in Us Weekly on the plane, he must have lost at least a third of his loyal fans. Thank god. Finally everyone else got to see the real jackass that Dustin was. Maeghan was so sick of hearing girls swooning about the charismatic, charming, handsome guy that they thought he was. So delusional. It wasn't those teenage girls' fault that Dustin was so good at faking a nice persona though. He was just a manipulative bastard and no one could help that. Of course don't mention to Maeghan that she wasn't that different.
Indeed she wasn't though. Maeghan had a lot more in common with her brother than she was willing to admit. For one, they were both very manipulative people and good at changing people's minds and opinions to suit themselves. They both also completely adored the spotlight and would do almost anything to keep it on them. They both also had a mean streak that was out more than it should and the list of other similarities could go on and on. The most interesting similarity however, was the fact that they both loved a good scandal. Well, they might not have loved it but they certainly had both gone through their own dramas throughout the years. Maeghan's reasons for the scandal tended to be more intentional though. Her parents might not notice her a lot but they had noticed that whenever Dustin had dramas in the spotlight, Maeghan was never too far behind with her own troubles. School suspensions, a few minor criminal offences and the likes were the way she liked to go although her parents didn't ever seem to concern. No, they just sent her several miles away instead. As if boarding school was going to magically transform her into a new improved version of herself. Ha. Of course her parents would do that. Rather than deal with their problematic daughter themselves and distract themselves from their precious, talented son Dustin, they just shipped her off to become someone else's problem to handle.
Right now, Maeghan was just proving how great that idea had worked. Rather than turn into a good girl who didn't draw attention to herself like her parents wanted, Maeghan had quickly become one of the 'it girls' in her year, claiming her title as the crazy bitch of her group and ended up getting expelled for using cocaine at her own sweet sixteenth party on school campus, suspiciously soon after Dustin's own assaulting-his-girlfriend scandal. Still it had kind of backfired on her. Instead of finally getting some attention from her parents, she'd been sent on a plane to California to stay with her estranged brother until they both sorted themselves out. How this was going to work, Maeghan had absolutely no clue. Surely one of them would be dead by the end of the week. That was, if Dustin was ever planning on picking her up from this gross airport. Wandering around, Maeghan finally found the luggage area and pulled her several heavy suitcases and bags of luggage off the carousal but what was she supposed to do, lug this around until she found Dustin? He was probably just sitting at home completely oblivious to the fact that his baby sister was even in town. Idiot. Rather than exhausting herself though, Maeghan found a nice hot airport attendee guy to put all her things onto a trolley. This was much easier. Now she just had to wait for Dustin.
Dragging the trolley to a couple of spare seats, Maeghan huffed an annoyed sigh, earning herself a few stares but she didn't care. She flopped gracefully into a hard plastic chair, tossing her long blonde hair over one shoulder while her eyes scanned the crowds moving around. "Augh, screw him." she muttered half under her breath, Usually Maeghan liked to consider herself to be quite independent. She'd basically raised herself since her parents chose to neglect her most of the time, she'd found her own friends and made her way into the cool group at boarding school and she'd caught a plane across the country twice on her own with no one to help her. She didn't need help from others but in this case she kind of did need Dustin, as much as it killed her to inwardly admit it. She needed to get to his house because if she didn't, her mother would call her cell and scream at her some more. While Maeghan would normally just call a taxi, unfortunately she had no clue where Dustin even lived. Her parents hadn't bothered giving her an address and she didn't have Dustin's number so she couldn't call him.
Instead, it looked like Maeghan was stuck in the middle of the airport with a trolley of luggage and no where to go. Damn her idiot brother. It looked like Maeghan was going to have to find something to entertain her while she waited but what? There really wasn't much to do in an airport. God Maeghan hated her brother. She hated this town already. She hated everything. With this thought, Maeghan tipped her head back and groaned, kicking the trolley angrily. It shifted slightly and of course two suitcases fell out, luckily managing to stay closed as they hit the floor. "Shit." Maeghan cursed again, not even bothering to pick them up. Instead she left them lying in front of her, not caring if someone tripped over them. Ah, such a lovely girl she was.

CATHERINE ROSE *SING THAT OLD SONG HOW DOES IT GO? LOOK OUT SHUNSHINE IS THE PUNCHLINE NO ONE GETS YOU ANYMORE WELL LOOK OUT SUNSHINE HERE THEY COME - - - Cat had to give the city of valkyrie, california, some credit. it had outdone itself in a fantastical and unprecedented way. it was now more of a sucky, pointless waste of space than it had ever been before. a big fat kudos to it from her. as of late, every single time she turned her head it seemed she found yet another thing she despised about the place she was being forced to be a resident of. she hated the name, she hated the landscape (except for the beach), she hated the constant heat, she the constant sunshine (though when she had first arrived she hadn't really minded it) and, most of all, she hated nearly every single person inside of it. she couldn't wait to graduate and just get the fuck out and go to college in a place that didn't make her want to peel the skin off of her body just to distract her from how mind numbingly tired she was of living there. maybe somewhere in hawaii (she was pretty sure the frequent sunshine there wouldn't bug her) or new york or pennesylvania. just somewhere far away from california. she was just so fucking sick of the whole damn state.
- - - And, right now, she was feeling especially sick of her dear brother, charlie rose. granted, she was annoyed with pretty much everyone more than she usually was ever since hunter sinclair had arrived back in valkyrie, save for a select group of people... well, actually more like just one person; audrey harper. but charlie was really getting on her nerves. normally, she and charlie got on very well, no matter how many sarcastic quips on his oddball-ness cat could dish out, but lately cat had just zero patience for both him and his antics. the only time she didn't feel like heaving a huge, raspy sigh while in his presence was when she hung around in his room while he practiced his cello because, for whatever reason she had absolutely no inkling about, the deep, mournful sounds charlie could conjure up out of the large string instrument was on of the very, very few things that could soothe her these days. at this particular moment in time, however, cat was feeling neither soothed nor tolerant, for charlie was bugging her incessantly for a ride to the american airlines airport that valkyrie housed within its borders. and it was either a rather clever or a very stupid move on his part, because he either knew that she was apt to crack just to get him to shut the fuck up or wasn't aware that she was equally apt to smack him about his shaggy head. "pleeeaseeee?" god, when had he gotten so damn whiny? "no," she repeated for about the twelfth time, enunciating the monosyllabic word so sharply that it made her jaw hurt. eff. she tucked her petite legs more primly beneath herself on her perch atop her bed and crossing her arms over her chest. charlie was sitting on her computer chair, his best puppy face arranged on his features. "pretty, pretty, pretty please?" jesus. only charlie was too cheap to take a fucking cab to the airport to welcome a 'friend' when his own stupid car was be repaired.
- - - "Pleasepleaseplease?" okay, damn it, that was it. if nothing else, he'd shut up and she'd have something to hold over his head for a while. cat heaved a huge sigh. "okay, fine. but you have to be entirely silent for the entire car ride, or i can't be held responsible for any blunt trauma that might befall you. got it?"
charlie nodded solemnly and scuttled out of her room. cat grudgingly got up off of her bed and went about collecting items necessary for this little trip, which included a purse and a pair of shoes. she then clumped downstairs, left a quick note for her dad and then joined charlie, who had already made himself comfortable in the passenger seat of her car. the ride to the airport was a bit long for cat's taste and gave her a rather fierce headache, so it was really quite smart of charlie to have kept up his end of the bargain and stayed absolutely silent. once they arrived at the airport and managed to locate the terminal they were supposed to be waiting for charlie's buddy at (cat had tagged along into the airport because there was no way in hell she was staying out and rotting in the car), cat was giving some serious thought to smacking this friend of her brother's once they managed to find him. charlie wandered off into the thick of things and suggested that cat run along and buy herself some french fries or a milkshake or something and cat spent a couple of moments standing immobile, stewing for the hell of it, muttering to herself about french fries and milkshakes being the reason this country was getting so damn obese. that lost its appeal after about a minute, however, so began to stroll around a bit, making fun of pretty much all the people she laid her eyes on in her mind. this kept her from paying proper attention to just where she was strolling, unfortunately, and she paid for it when she stumbled slightly over a suitcase that was lying on the floor next to a trolley. "fuck," she muttered as she straightened up and got a look at the girl sitting in a chair next to said trolley. "you know, that's a good effort," she said, her voice full of artificial sickly sweetness, referring to how her suitcase was lying on the floor instead of atop of her trolley, "but those are supposed to go on top of your little trolley there."- - - Well, at least she hadn't ever set eyes on this girl before, so she couldn't exaclty be expecting cat to be pleasant.[/blockquote] STATUS finished. MAEGHAN HARRIS, - - - - - YOU CAN'T ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU WANT BUT IF YOU TRY SOMETIMES YOU JUST MIGHT FIND you get what you need- - - - - Sitting slumped in the uncomfortable chair in the middle of this crowded and kind of stuffy airport with her luggage sprawled out on the floor in front of her in a messy heap was definitely not the way Maeghan had planned on spending her first day in a new city. Seriously, this was ridiculous. Where the fuck was her idiot asshole of a brother? Maeghan tapped her foot on the ugly carpeted floor impatiently, her narrowed eyes flicking through the mass of crowds walking in and out of the airport. Dustin's unfamiliar face was no where to be found of course. He was probably sitting at his place with a beer in hand watching sport on TV or something. Or maybe he had a hooker over. Or maybe he was dealing with lawyers. Maybe he was in prison already! Maeghan didn't actually know. She didn't exactly pay attention her older brother's life, apart from when she was forced to listen to his latest dramas from her friends pouring over their stupid trashy magazines. The last she'd heard was just that he was in Valkyrie and her parents were pretty pissed at him, a nice change since it was usually Maeghan they were mad at but now they were just fed up with her, so he was hiding away for a bit. Right. Maeghan had no idea what was happening with him and the whole assaulting-Jenna deal. She'd only never actually met Jenna since she hadn't actually been home at all since she moved to boarding school. She preferred to travel a little bit with friends etc whenever the holidays come around, succeeding in her plan to avoid her family entirely. Well until now. But anyway, Jenna. Maeghan had kind of wanted to meet her when she heard Dustin was dating her. She seemed like she could be one of those I'm-so-awesome-I'm-in-movies kind of girls by the looks of her.
Still, she'd seemed nice enough from what Maeghan had heard in the magazines from her friends and when her parents had discussed the new living situation they made it fairly clear that they were disappointed in Dustin for ruining all of that. Well he did have a habit of ruining things i.e. Maeghan's life. Stuck up poster-boy sure had issues. But was he honestly stupid enough to forget to pick up his own little sister? Sure, they barely even knew each other and hadn't really spoken in...well Maeghan couldn't really remember the last time she'd spoken to him. Not even when she found out she was going to go live with him. Nope, that had all been organised through her dear mummy and daddy. The thought of giving Dustin a call to ask where the hell he was passed through Maeghan's mind for a moment but she quickly shook it off. She wasn't about to come begging to him or whatever. And shit, did she even have his number? With that in mind, Maeghan opened her iPhone and flicked through her contact list. Well surprise, surprise. Towards the end of the 'D's there it was. 'Dustin.' It seemed so weird to have his name just sitting there among her closest friends. People who actually knew her. With his number highlighted, Maeghan pursed her lips before hitting cancel and slipped her phone back into her bag. No, she wouldn't call him. She'd find another way to get out of this place even if it meant catching a taxi...Except she didn't know his address. Curse that idiot. Where was he?
Yeah, Maeghan Harris wasn't exactly the most patient of girls. She'd never been very tolerant of people being late to her parties and such although she had no problem showing up late to class. She didn't care if she was late, if others held her up in her plans though then they'd better watch out. Maeghan hated a lot of things though which meant a lot of people spent most of their time watching their back. She hated people who used people, she hated people who loved Dustin, she hated people who were late, she hated people who lied to her and she hated people who were rude to her. Especially in boarding school with her epic bitch reputation. Crossing her really wasn't a good idea, especially when she was in a bad mood. Clearly Christopher Dustin Harris wasn't aware of any of these things because he still hadn't arrived. Honestly. "I swear I'll kill him." Maeghan muttered under her breath as she glanced at the crowd again. No one. Maeghan knew a hopeless cause when she saw one so she finally reached into her bag and pulled her iPhone back out, scrolling through the contact list until she found Dustin's name and hit call. Thank god he picked up. "Hey, who's this?" Maeghan rolled her eyes at her brother's wary voice. He probably thought it was some crazed fan who'd found his number somehow. Not likely. "Your fucking sister you idiot. Where the fuck are you? I'm at the airport so you'd better be having parking troubles or you're dead. I'll be the blonde girl who wants to kill you." she said very quickly and furiously. She smirked to herself as she heard him curse under his breath. "Augh, I'll be there soon okay? Hold on and try to restrain that urge. You'll need me for the ride back." he said smugly. Damn him.
As he spoke, Maeghan rolled her eyes but as she did someone passing by caught her eye as they tripped over her bags. Woops? Lowering her phone and hanging up on Dustin before he could say anything else, she smirked at the small brunette who was straightening up. "you know, that's a good effort but those are supposed to go on top of your little trolley there." Maeghan cocked her head, pretending to actually look interested in what the girl said before she finished. "Well 'you know'," she said in a similar tone, mocking the girl, "that's an alright effort but those eyes of yours are supposed to watch where you're going." she smirked and crossed her ankles together, raising an eyebrow at the girl and making no movement at all to pick up the suitcases.

CATHERINE SELENA ROSE *SING THAT OLD SONG HOW DOES IT GO? LOOK OUT SUNSHINE IS THE PUNCHLINE NO ONE GETS YOU ANYMORE WELL LOOK OUT SUNSHINE HERE THEY COME. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - she wasn't always such a big bundle of surpressed rage, fury and disgust. quite the contrary, in fact. though at the very core of her being, catherine selena rose would always hold a sense of irritation and contempt for the world and the idiots living on it, when she wasn't feeling too provoked, she could be downright pleasant. admittedly, since moving to the small city of valkyrie in california, she had been feeling provoked more and more, but that was just a natural side affect of living here, seeing as it was full of airheaded individuals who were incapable of any thoughts deeper than 'i'm hungry' or 'i'm horny' or 'i want alcohol'. it wasn't a surprise; people like that had always bugged cat and she was quite sure that they always would, so it made sense that she would be more annoyed than usually when surrounded by them. she didn't like it, but it made sense. and, generally, she didn't care about them enough to do anything more than subtley insult them and then snigger to herself when they didn't pick up on it and daydream about the day when she was all powerful ruler of the whole world and could exterminate anyone and everyone who irritated her. however, in the current climate, she was working a lot harder to keep herself from giving the airheaded folk a good punch in the face whenever she was in their prescense. though these violent urgers weren't nearly as bad as it had been about a month ago, every now and then something went off inside of her and she was forced to sit on her hands to keep from knocking some serious block. she was taking the fact that she was able to care enough to restrain herself as a very good sign. in fact, she was quite happy with her progress. aside from the seemingly random rushes of fury and mad desire to beat something up that burst through her system every now and then, she felt she was pretty much almost back to her regular self, pre-hunter sinclair, though perhaps more snappish, impatient and vicious. but hey. you couldn't have everything.
- - - but now, let's just get one thing straight. yes, cat was doing her best to get over hunter sinclair and, ideally, forget he had ever existed. and yes, she was disgusted by how much he had affected her, how vulnerable he had made her. and yes, she was also doing her best to convince herself that she hadn't ever really cared about him at all. it was almost working. almost. and deep down she knew that it wasn't going to ever completely work, because she was catherine selena rose. and she hated it when people lied to themselves, because it was just stupid. which was exactly what she was doing; lying to herself. on some level she was well aware of this and knew that eventually she would be able to stop being so bull headed and simply admit it and stop wasting so much mental energy on something so futile. which made her hate hunter sinclair even more, because, as if picking up and leaving without so much as a word of warning to her wasn't enough, he was also making her act like some weirdo therapist case, which was really fucking annoying. and knowing why he had left in the first place strangely made her angry, too. his father had died in a car crash and he felt as though he was responsible because he had been driving the car when it had collided with the semi. cat could understand that, she knew that something like that had to be just fucking horrible, but that knowledge made a pang of anger shoot through her, accompanied with a though something along the lines of 'if he had just fucking stayed!' if he had just fucking stayed in valkyrie or even just fucking told her that he was going to europe and maybe they should stop seeing each other... this wouldn't have happened and everything would have been just so goddamn peachy. but that didn't matter now. not anymore. because she was getting on with her life and attempting to make hunter into nothing more than an abyss in her memory. she was with carlito now after all, wasn't she? one of the few people she never felt the urge to punch. he was just too damn cute and nice for her to ever really get mad at, which was kind of strange for her, seeing as normally people who were cutesy like him were annoying.
- - - what with her mood today already somewhat strained thanks to charlie and his insistence on being a bother, cat didn't feel the slightest inkling of tolerance for the girl who had left her suitcases haphazardly strewn across the floor. it was with pure malevolence that she wrapped her thin, pale arms across her black hoodie enveloped chest and gazed hard at the blonde, poor excuse of a specimin of humanity in the airline chair before her. cat would definitely flatter herself enough to say that she wasn't one you wanted to mess with even during the best of times, to say nothing of during the current climate. but, hell, what she thought about it didn't matter. you don't have to take her word for it. the greviousness of the injury you would be left with nursing after you pissed her off was what was really important. and at the moment she was definitely in a 'very grevious' sort of mood. "well 'you know, that's an alright effort but those eyes of yours are supposed to watch where you're going." cat almost felt a little disappointed. she had been hoping for something a little more interesting at least. though that hope was probably completely unfounded, seeing as not everyone was in the same volatile state of mind that she herself was in. she kept the same sickly sweet tone in her voice as she responded. "oh, right. i'm sorry. i'm not so good at remembering that there are skanks like you around who leave their shit all over the floor." there wasn't any feeling in her tone, just the artificial sweetness and an air of being extremely bored. "my bad. though you might want to watch out. some poor ignorant bozo who digs that whole disgustingly overdone 'i'm a rich girl who thinks i'm the best fucking thing since buttered bread' thing might try and make off with something." she nodded down at the suitcases again. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - STATUS finished. finally! MAEGHAN HARRIS, - - - - - YOU CAN'T ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU WANT BUT IF YOU TRY SOMETIMES YOU JUST MIGHT FIND you get what you need- - - - - Trying to reason with Maeghan Harris when she was cranky or PM-Sing was like trying to reason with a hungry lion. Frankly it was something to be avoided at all costs. If you saw that glare in her eyes then don't even bother. Walk away. Try again tomorrow when she's in a better mood. Then again trying to reason with Maeghan on a good day wasn't much use either. Maeghan wasn't known to be reasonable and she never had been. If she didn't like something, she didn't do it. Simple as that, no matter what the consequences. She was that obnoxious girl in the back row of class asking why they had to do work. You know the kind. Whether it's a girl or a boy, there's always one student who wants nothing more than to stir up the teacher and annoy anyone who actually wants to learn. When being told the class was having a test, Maeghan could always be counted on to comment 'but we're never going to use any of this crap!' If she was playing a sport at school and she wasn't in the mood, well don't expect her to try at all. She usually ended up sitting off the field for the whole game unless her coaches refused to let her off and in that case she spent the whole match standing on the edge with a sulky expression. No matter what her teachers and parents did, nothing could force Maeghan into something she didn't agree or approve of. Reasoning was not in her vocabulary unless it was in context of someone else reasoning with her. In that case, it was necessary.
Perhaps it was the result of watching her older brother always get his own way while she had to work for everything that caused this. She'd never been able to fully understand what was so special about him so if he could do what he wanted then surely so could she. Thus, she adopted that wild attitude and stubbornness that was so hated by all of her teachers. Every time she tried to blame Dustin for her actions though, she was always in the wrong according to everyone. Dustin was perfect. Dustin was amazing. Dustin this and Dustin that. Fuck Dustin. Maeghan was just as amazing, if not several times more. If someone wanted her to do something that didn't benefit her, they'd better have a good ass reason and when it came to teachers they generally didn't have very good reasons which was why Maeghan always got her way. Except, as it always was, when it came to Dustin. He was the only exception in this situation. If Dustin and Maeghan both wanted something, Dustin got it. If Dustin had something on at the same time as Maeghan, we can all guess where their parents went. Maeghan could already imagine the conversation with her parents tonight when she complained about Dustin forgetting to pick her up.
Looking at this weird short girl with serious attitude problems (not that Maeghan could talk), Maeghan was already beginning to lose patience. What was this girl's problem? Seriously. Step over the suitcases and walk away. Didn't anyone know not to fuck with Maeghan in a bad mood? That was what Maeghan hated about new places. No one knew her and no one knew how to deal with her. Ten minutes or so into Valkyrie and already the people were pissing her off. Good job idiots. That was going to keep her from causing trouble. Hear the sarcasm there? And seriously, as if it was her fault that all of her luggage had fallen onto the ground. Well she had been the one to kick the cart but still. As we've established already, Maeghan wasn't one to be reasonable so if something was someone else's fault, then it was absolutely their fault and in no way her own. Like now for instance. It was the airport's fault for not sending someone over to pick it up and it was Dustin's fault for not picking her up already. It was not her fault for being cranky and bitchy and extremely lazy. Not at all. If her brother had been here, none of this would have happened. God. Couldn't the midget girl see that?
As the midget in the black hoodie opened her mouth again, Maeghan let out an obnoxious sigh and leaned back, rolling her eyes. God what else did she have to say? Surely if she was at an airport she had somewhere else more important to be rather than standing here pissing off Maeghan? "oh, right. i'm sorry. i'm not so good at remembering that there are skanks like you around who leave their shit all over the floor." Well that was original. "Ah, you have memory problems. Don't feel embarrassed, I knew a kid who had a memory like a goldfish once. Funny shit." Maeghan cocked her head to the side as she gazed out to the airport entrance; partly reminiscing and partly to piss off the girl for fun. She hardly knew this chick and already she could figure out what would annoy her. Turning her gaze back as the girl carried on speaking for some reason, Maeghan smirked and tried to suppress a laugh. "my bad. though you might want to watch out. some poor ignorant bozo who digs that whole disgustingly overdone 'i'm a rich girl who thinks i'm the best fucking thing since buttered bread' thing might try and make off with something." The laugh just refused to escape now. Maeghan let out a laugh that was almost mocking in its tone as she shifted in her seat again. God these airport chairs really were uncomfortable when you sat on them for too long. "Well wouldn't that be a shame! Of course if it was you I wouldn't be concerned. Seriously, look at you. You are free to take whatever you want from my clothes. Anything would improve..that." Maeghan gave a snobbish glanced up and down the girl before shaking her head back. "Anyway, don't you have somewhere else to be rather than standing here? It's not like my luggage is blocking the entire airport and you're boring me now. Feel free to put my stuff back on the cart before you go though." Maeghan gave a sickly sweet smirk to the girl as she folded her arms across her chair, nudging one of the cases with her foot.
