The war has ended and Voldemort is gone.
'Twould seem like the witches and wizards stayed peacefully incognito, hiding from the muggles, working hard to make sure that nothing like the war with He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named happened again, yes?
Not even close.
Unbeknownst to the muggles, wizards and witches are slowly integrating themselves into muggle society, mixing and mingling with non-magical folk in the schools and workplaces. Under lackadaisical leadership from the minister, more and more families are becoming less concerned with hiding, and more occupied with enjoying their knewly found peace of mind.
Though Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is still up and running, enrollment is dropping. The local high school is encountering copious amounts of new students - the young wizards and witches whose parents have decided that magic isn't as important as it used to be.
But the muggle schools are in danger. With all the uneducated witches and wizards becoming friends with muggles, forming relationships, seeing them every day, their magic is bound to get out of control. The value put on magic and blood status by magical society in general is falling, but the magic still runs potent in the blood of witches and wizards. Though many don't know it, they have the ability to do magic.
Of course, some teenagers are rebellious. Many of them have discovered their powers, and try to figure out how to use them. Some of them already knew about their magical abilities. Sooner or later, the muggles will find out - some already suspect. The fear of discovery still lurks in the corners of the wizarding world.
Will the Minister shape up and gather all the wizards and witches back together, bringing the magical society back to what it was before? Or will the magic die out, after having been diluted with the presence of muggles scattered so densely throughout it for so many years? Or maybe the muggles will discover the magic... And if they do, will the be able to peacefully coexist with the wizards and witches? Or will the new discovery spark a war even greater than the first?
