PERSONAL STYLE:
Teddy doesn’t have much of an exact style. He just kind of goes with the flow, not really caring what he wears. (He’s sexy, he can look good in whatever.) From t-shirts to polos he just kind of throws something on, usually with a pair of old ragged jeans, because hey, if they still fit, why buy more? It isn’t like he dresses in rags or in clothes from the thrift store. His parents aren’t dirt poor to the point where he can’t dress with decency. He probably just looks like every average teenage boy if you see him out on the streets. Plus, living on the California coast, he usually is either in his school uniform or you’ll catch him shirtless on the beach. It really just depends on his mood that day.

BEST MEMORY:
+His best memory may seem stupid or not that great to some people, but it is probably would be the first time he went to Disneyland with his family. I mean, yeah it’s not all that great, but he was around ten years old and at the time it seemed like the absolute greatest thing in the whole wide world. He’d never been on an actually trip to some special location before, and being with his mom and dad it just seemed like bliss. There’s other good things too, like winning regional football games or sometimes trivial like that.
WORST MEMORY:
+He doesn’t really have a “worst memory” since there really isn’t anything in his life he has ever regretted. His parents are kind and courteous, they never beat him. I guess the worst time would be when he was caught by his parents drinking and they flipped out on him. They basically trust him whole-heartedly but he had a game the next day and they were both livid. His parents never got physical with him, but that night his mother slapped him across the face. She apologized afterwards and ended up crying because she did it, so it was odd that he ended up comforting her. Another bad memory may have been the first time he saw Belle. She was an absolute wreck, bruised, and broken. He could barely stand to look at her without feeling torn apart. Then there was also this time he met a May Avraham, discovered she was being abused, and saw her lying in a coma in the hospital. He had to leave for home that day, but he thought she was good as dead and it was fairly sad. As far as he knows right now, she is.
OVERALL PERSONALITY:
Theodore Kingsley is overall a very good natured, temperate young man. He’s one of those guys everybody can just be friends with no matter who they are because he’s just so friendly, though that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have his flaws and can’t be a bit judgmental at times. He’s catchy and outgoing and tends to give off the “I’m a lover, not a fighter” sort of vibe.
Teddy has always been an outgoing, friendly sort of guy. He’s never unwilling to be introduced to new people, though he won’t always introduce himself to others because he has a slight problem with judging people before he knows them. He tries not to, but always tends to do it. However, once he gets to know those people (usually) he changes his mind immediately and then feels bad about ever thinking and sort of thing bad about them. He’s is a people person for sure and hates being alone or not having somebody to talk to. If you ever had him as your friend, consider yourself lucky. He’s fiercely loyal to his loved ones and wouldn’t betray them for the world. He’s always there for his friends and family, no matter what, and they always come first, especially his family. There is an unwavering faith he has for those he cares about, and he’s got a big heart so there is always room to add more to the group.
The boy’s always been the “happy-go-lucky” sort. He’s an optimist and always tries to see the good in things, even if the particular occasion is absolutely horrible. There’s always something positive he can pick out of the bad. It takes a lot to really take Teddy out of his happy little world. He’s content with everything in his life, he’s got a good family, decent living, friends, and sports. There’s not much that could be considered a touchy subject or something that could set him off. He practically never angry, but just because what most people say don’t bother him. In reality, he never really is sad or cries because there is nothing that really makes him sad, unless somebody he cares about is hurt or something. When he does get in touch with these emotions, it usually doesn’t even involve him directly. What mainly sets off his anger is when people mistreat his friends or family, or say rude things about them. That is the only thing that really gets to him.
As for romance, well Teddy is kind of awkward about it. He’s gone on dates with girls, and definitely flirted with some… but he hasn’t gotten serious with anybody ever. In fact, he hasn’t slept with anybody either. It’s something he loves the idea of, but in all honesty is kind of scared to face in person. He figures it’s just because he hasn’t met the right girl yet, or maybe he’s just weird because he hears about how his friends are all over girls all the time and how great sex is and all that, but he’s never experienced it so he can’t really join in. The farthest he’s ever even gone with a girl is maybe some make-out action and that’s about it. Sure, he likes it, but it doesn’t do much for him when there isn’t chemistry present.
Teddy is the type of kid who loves to get into spontaneous bits of fun. He’s very impulsive and sometimes doesn’t think before he acts. When it comes to that sort of thing, he isn’t exactly the most brilliant person in the whole world. Somebody could just suggest something that sounds fun at the time and he’ll jump right into it and do it. He’s kind of a goofball and likes to make everything fun and unexpected. Teddy loves challenges and competitions as well. If somebody offers one up he’ll usually try it even if it sounds completely ridiculous. The kid loves surprised, in fact they’re probably one of his favorite things. If he doesn’t expect something, then he is going to most likely adore it.
When it comes to trusting people, Teddy has a little problem. He is kind of gullible and maybe a bit naïve in some ways and sometimes believes everything he’s told and with just spurt out things he shouldn’t be telling people. It all depends on how much he thinks he cares for somebody. As sure as he considers somebody a good friend or a loved one he just trusts them wholeheartedly. Its not as though he has a ton of secrets to worry about being exposed, this problem mainly takes effect when another person trusted him with a secret of their own… and somebody tricks him into figuring out what it is. He does get some credit though because when it comes to things other people have confided in him, he’s a bit more reluctant to just throw it to anybody who comes along asking with a pair of puppy dog eyes and a pouting lip.
Teddy feels like there are a lot of bad things going on in the world, and there are. I mean, what were the odds he’d ever be exposed to two abuse cases in a few weeks time? He has always been trying to make life better, even as a kid. When he was little, he was always bringing home stray animals, trying to nurse them back to health and find them homes. To be honest, he still does this. But as he grew older he began focusing less on animals and more on people. He wants to make life better for everybody so he tries really hard to just make them feel better and perhaps improve their life, even if it may only be a marginal improvement. He’ll stick his nose where it doesn’t belong and try and help people out. His sister, for example, is somebody he keeps trying to make feel better. He’s the type of person who wants to put the broken people back together. There isn’t really a reason for it, but he feels so lucky for the life he was given that maybe he should pass around the luck and help out some others.
The boy is somewhat considered to be a part of the “in crowd” even if he isn’t the richest kid in town. He is well liked and that means he gets invited to parties a lot. Teddy loved parties, there really isn’t anyway around it. He is kind of a wild one when it comes to them, and he has no objections against his fair share of alcohol, but he tends to steer clear of the drugs, mostly because he knows it would break his mother’s heart if she ever knew he was into that sort of thing, and he loves her too much to even betray that undying trust she has for him. He can get a little crazy at parties, but he never does anything too drastic. He knows his limits and won’t usually go beyond them. He’s pretty responsible and doesn’t part hard or do it when he knows he needs to be fully there mentally the next day or something.

HISTORY:
Seventeen years ago, two babies were left on the steps of a hospital in Anaheim, California. They had some papers with them that implied they were twins and in need of a home. Naturally, the hospital took them in since they couldn’t have been more than a few months old. They cared for them and enrolled them into an adoption agency, the boy and the girl. The girl went first, so all they had was the boy, and then Harry and Jessica Kingsley walked in, saw him, and fell in love. They were a young couple, and had tried having children many times with little success. Eventually they found out that Jessica was sterile and couldn’t have kids, so after dealing with the grief of that, they’d gone to adopt a child. At first, they had been dead-set on having a girl, but when they saw that little baby boy laying there, sleeping, well they were positive he was there, and meant for them.
Jessica practically idolized the child. She named him Theodore, and Harry chose the middle name Jefferson after his beloved’s maiden name. They loved the child and took him back to where they lived in Valkyrie, which wasn’t all too far away. Jess never left the baby, adoring him with all her heart. Seriously, she thought he was the absolute most perfect thing in the world, and still does to this very day. She and her parents, and her in-laws all hovered around little Teddy, as they nicknamed him, and spoiled him as best they could. His new adoptive mother was absolutely sure that it was meant to be that she couldn’t have kids, because otherwise she would never have found little Theodore, and he was the greatest joy in her life.
Teddy’s parents had always planned on adopting another child, a girl this time, but it just never happened, so the kid grew up an only child, which he didn’t mind much at all. He grew up happy and was never mistreated by his parents, not ever. Sure, he was scolded when he did something wrong, but physical punishment wasn’t something he ever had to deal with. So his childhood was pretty normal, and very happy. His parents enrolled him in sports little leagues and eventually the rest (soccer, baseball, basketball, etc.) all faded out until he was dead set with football. He loved the sport and went through with it all the way into high school, to this very day. It was a passionate hobby and he loved seeing both his parents attending his games and cheering for him just a little louder than the other parents. In all reality, he felt like the most lucky kid in the world. He loved his parents and never really acted out. They were just as adoring of him as he was of them.
As he grew up, he started bringing stray animals homes, or birds with broken wings. This drove his mother crazy, but she couldn’t make him kick them out or help but find it adorable. Teddy would mend the wings and feed the dogs, or brush through the cat’s matted fur. He always gave them baths and got them into tip top condition before calling the number on the tag or the shelter to come take them in. The boy never even expected rewards or benefits from this, it was just something he enjoyed doing. When some relieved pet owners insisted on giving him money for his work, he didn’t reject it. It was a hobby and a pastime to help the little critters he found in need of a helping hand.
When junior high came around, Teddy easily fell into the “cool kid crowd” and made friends easily. Everybody seemed to like him. The guys hated calling him Teddy though, so they gave him his nickname of “TJ” which was something only his father had called him previously. He really didn’t care what they called him, as long as it wasn’t “Theodore.” Teddy, TJ… none of it made a difference. He liked being befriended by his peers, and it carried on into high school. Sure, there were a few kids here and there who didn’t like him, but he wasn’t God, he couldn’t have everybody loving him. It didn’t bother him. He just figured “you win some, you lose some.” As a freshman, he skipped right over freshman football and was put into JV. It was cool to be talked to be the upperclassmen and treated as a teammate even though he didn’t play much on that junior varsity team, but hey, he made it onto the team, right?
When his sophomore year came around, he went right on to varsity football, still didn’t get that much playing time, but at least he was ensured he’d definitely be a starter his junior year. That was the year he really got into his partying ways. He loved alcohol the first time he even tasted it, and while he’s not an addict, he wouldn’t turn some down. He always tried to be the life of the party, tried to make things interesting. People found him funny and charming, and they liked inviting him, so he kept getting informed of when these parties were and kept attending them. He dated a few girls here and there, sometimes made out with a few when he was buzzed or even a bit wasted, but other than that never really found one he liked a lot.
The end of his sophomore year was probably the most odd period of his life. He remembers to this day getting a letter from New York City, from some girl named Seriah who claimed she was his sister and that she needed help. It was all a little mind boggling, but when Jessica and Harry read it, they bought three tickets to New York and left the next day. When they arrived, they showed up at Seriah’s fifth story apartment, all three of them a bit nervous and anxious too. Teddy was very surprised when a police officer opened the door. He let them in, and they noticed the apartment was dirty and the furniture upturned and haggard. Teddy was the first of his family to notice the blood on the kitchen floor and on the corner of a nearby wall. The officer informed them of the abusive household it had been and told them the girl was in a nearby hospital. Teddy had left, telling his parents he needed some time to think. He walked around the lower streets, not really knowing where he was headed, and that was when he ran into a girl. Maidel Avraham.
She was pretty and friendly, and they just sort of hit it off right away. He was very thankful for the distraction and walked her home, enjoying the conversation the entire way. He never really felt so much chemistry towards a particular girl before, and even though he just met her, he already considered her a friend and was really beginning to like her. After he left her at he doorstep, he found his way back to where this Seriah girl lived, his parents waiting down by where they parked the car. His parents had asked if he wanted to go see this girl with them, and he said yes. They drove to the hospital and were lead to the stranger’s room. He was shocked by what he saw. She was bruised and beaten, her hair glued to her face. She seemed to be sleeping and very restlessly at that for she kept fidgeting and jerking her head back and forth. There was a mask on her mouth, probably allowing her to breathe. When she turned her head to the left and her hair moved a little, he saw the large gash from behind the top of her right ear down her neck.
They waited there for a few hours, and eventually she woke up, startling violently when she saw the three unrecognizable strangers in her room. She panicked and started hyperventilating, so a nurse was brought in to give her some sedatives. When she finally calmed down they explain that she’d sent them a letter, asking if she remembered. She did and then they discussed it. It turned out Seriah was Teddy’s twin, and the looked enough alike that they could be related. They were separated at birth and she just wanted a stable home, and not to be put in foster care, because it was obvious she wasn’t going to be living with her adoptive father anymore. Teddy felt sorry for her and was already growing overly protective of this girl he barely knew, who was his sister.
Teddy and his family left for their hotel that night, well Teddy and his father. Jessica stayed at the hospital with Seriah. She was already growing attached to this girl she just met because she was her beloved son’s sister, and because she was in a hard place, and because she’d always wanted a daughter. The next day they went back and talked a bit more with Seriah, telling them a little about their own lives and Valkyrie, but didn’t ask her anything of hers. That afternoon Teddy excused himself from the hospital room and took a walk. He had to leave that night because of finals which were coming up soon. So he went to May’s house, hoping to exchange phone numbers with her or something because he really would have liked to keep in touch with her.
When he showed up at his newly found friend’s house, her mother answered the door and informed him May had fallen down the stairs and was in the hospital. He was very skeptic of her story for a few reasons. One, he was already a little paranoid about his sister’s abusive relationship with her father. Two, Jessica never left Seriah’s side, and she didn’t even know the girl. If a stranger could be so caring towards her, then why weren’t this girl, May’s parents there with her in the hospital? Hell, they didn’t even seem worried. He politely accepted the story, but as soon as the woman shut the door, he walked a little further down the street then called the cops. They came and searched the house, and it turned out this woman had been abusing her daughter and was arrested. It made him incredibly sad to see how much cruelty people had for their children in the world. He went back to that same hospital, and this time went to this May’s room. She was in a coma, and couldn’t hear anything he was going to say to her, but Teddy figured he’d say it anyways. He went up to her, touched her hand, and just said “I’m sorry,” and left.
After going back to Seriah’s room to say goodbye to her, he left for Valkyrie with his parents. He felt bad about leaving, especially since he didn’t even know what was going to happen to May. At least he knew Seriah was going into a full recovery. He went home and was troubled by the sights of both those girls for weeks to come. He didn’t fly back to New York with his parents a month later when they went to court to legally adopt Seriah. The trial took a few months, so the beginning of his junior year he was used to his parents, mainly Jessica, flying in and out of New York every now and again. He asked his mother to check up on Maidel for him, but she regretfully told him the nurse said “She’s gone,” and walked away. Well, that either meant she was discharged, or died. He was haunted by the idea that she died for a while, and was even sad about it. At least he knew his parents were trying to adopt Seriah now. The social services and judge were doing a lot of background checks on Jessica and Harry, not wanting Seriah to end up in another abusive home. She told them that she trusted Jess and Harry though, and that she wanted to live with her brother. They eventually consented and she flew back to Valkyrie with the two, and moved in with them.
Teddy loved it. He really adored having a sister and it didn’t take long for him to love her as whole heartedly as he did his parents. It was nice to have somebody always there. He was very protective over her, and helped her adjust in school. Now, practically already done with the first semester of his junior year, Teddy is living fairly happily again with his new sister and parents, though sometimes he still wonders about the girl whose mother he reported.
