OTHER: -
IN YOUR MOUTH, IN YOUR SOUL ,
CHARACTER PERSONALITY ,
the more we move ahead the more we're stuck in rewind
STRENGTHS: sports, academics, family, good head on shoulder
WEAKNESSES: family, friends, anything that jeopardizes what he cares about.
LIKES: school, sports, camping, outdoor activities, hanging with friends, the neighborhood, family, responsibility, his job, trust, volunteering, being level-headed, the pier, fast food, ordering hot dogs and chili cheese fries at the beach, running in the morning, any weather that's not of the norm, card games, crime shows, mystery movies, being labeled 'the nice guy,' video games, hanging out at random places on friday nights, being a typical shak boy, watching football games with a bunch of people
DISLIKES: his father for leaving them, drugs, alcohol, smoking, being poor no matter how hard you work, conservatives, know it alls, girls that get drunk because they think it's sexy, liars, having too much time on his hands, eating alone, fighting with his siblings,
FLAWS: absolutely overprotective of every member of his family, tries and sees the good in everyone
HABITS: works a lot, runs to clear his mind, gives a lop-sided grin when he's embarrassed.
SECRETS: though he works his ass off in school, he knows he probably won't be going to college because they can't afford it and he needs to work.
as much as he hates his dad for walking out on them, he'd give anything for nathan to come back.
BEST MEMORY: his best memory was the weekend before his dad left. the whole family went on a camping trip. roman loved these when all you did was sleep in a tent, swim in the lake, hike in the woods, and fish. it was a good time to just get away from valkyrie and forget about the real world and just enjoy nature and spend time with your family without worrying about money or jobs.
WORST MEMORY: it was the day their dad let, it was actually when susan sat roman down and told him everything. his dad use to be his hero and now he was gone and he was told all these things their dad did. it was tough for roman to realize that nathan was gone. for good.
OVERALL PERSONALITY: roman grew up in valkyrie, therefore, he knows quite a bit of the kids his age here. roman is on the straight and narrow path. sometimes, his friends call him 'dd.' why? well, dd stands for designated driver, duh. yes, roman doesn't drink. he's never had a beer, never gotten drunk, never tried week, or lit of a cigarette. he's just never done it, he doesn't see the point in getting addicted to something that could kill you and he's only seventeen, so he can't drink. does that mean he is a prude when it comes to drinking and drugs? no. because, the majority of his friends have done/do it. roman doesn't really get tempted. he can be around the stuff and not feel the need or desire to use it. but this makes him popular among friends to drive them home. roman's kind of like a mom. taking care of his siblings made him be a little more compassionate around his friends. he's super loyal and will be the first person to try and get you out of a sticky situation. some people might see this as using roman, but trust me, he wants to to do it. he's really compassionate and just has the mentality to help people out if they're in trouble. roman has a do-gooder heart. he could be compared with the whole 'knight and shining armor' thing. he is rather charming though he doesn't utilize it like a lot of other guys do. it's not that he's shy around girls, it's that he doesn't really believe in the whole appearance thing. he really likes looking into the girl's personality before her looks. not that he overlooks it, but he doesn't base who he talks with by the way she wears her hair. another thing about roman is that he is super trustworthy. when he makes friends, he makes friends for life. he loves having a good time. though he is what people would call a good guy, he does like getting into mischievous things with this friends. hard-working is what made roman what he is today. when he was thirteen he had to get a job, take over responsibilities at the house while his mom was at work, and take care of his siblings. that's a lot for one boy to handle. he did it though and he knows what doesn't kill him makes him stronger and hard-work eventually pays off in the end.
and since i fail at personality basically what you need to know is that roman has a good heart with a level head on his shoulders. he's the text book version of a nice guy who means well. he doesn't let his family situation get in the way of having fun, and he's a vside kid who doesn't drink, whoo!

HISTORY: "my parents are natives. so were their parents, and their parents and so on. the le blancs have been in the city of valkyrie for years now. my parents' story isn't one filled with bright lights and a lot of money. they were just born average people destined to work at average jobs and just lead a average life. it might sound boring, but i got a secret: seventy five percent of america runs on 'average.' or, some high percentage... the point is, i wasn't born from old money, or in the back of a tour bus. my dad was six years older than my mother, so they never were in school together. they actually met when my mom was a sophomore in college. my father never went to college and was twenty seven at the time. he was enjoying the single life and working as a construction worker. he was suppose to be getting some promotion, or something. when they met, it was the night of my mom's twenty first birthday party and all her friends took her out to nonsense to get drunk and have fun. being the charming man that my mom said my dad was, it didn't take long for him to be buying all the girls drinks. my mom told me it was never love at first sight, but they had some attraction. he asked one of my mom's friend's for my mom's number and a few days after the party, he called her and asked her out on a date. after a few dates, they were 'officially dating.' my father, nathan, got the promotion six months after they started dating. think was, they had to move to seattle for the job. nathan promised my mom, susan, the world: money, cars, a big house with a white picket fence. susan dropped out of college and moved to seattle with him. to make rent at their new place, my mom worked as a receptionist at a spa while nathan tried to become this big and bad contractor. year later, nathan was fired. my dad had a temper and he pissed a lot of the heads upstairs off when he was behind a deadline on a building. they tried to stay in seattle, but after another four months of trying to make it work, my mom got knocked up. she wanted to go back to where her family was. so, they moved back here.
twenty three and pregnant, my mom couldn't go back to school. she got another receptionist job at a fitness gym while nathan found work where he could. they got engaged, but until they were making money to support their new family, (being me,) they just didn't have time to get married. they moved into a crappy apartment complex because it was all they really could afford. nine months after moving from seattle, they had me. and they named me roman jude, for no particular reason. when i was two, my parents decided to get married. yay, rah, they were legally bound to each other. my mom got pregnant again and when i was five, she had my brother, noah. i won't lie, i was incredibly happy to not be an only child. i was convinced noah and i would be best friends. as an only child, i was bored. now i could make noah be megatron and i could be optimus prime. it was so annoying to have to play both sides. as i started growing from being a infant to a child, i could tell my parents didn't get along with each other. well, they did. but as the years passed, it became steadily worse. our parents still loved us though. my dad was thrilled to have two boys running around the house. he did everything a dad did. taught us how to play baseball, took us fishing, we went camping almost every weekend as a family. what i didn't though was that my dad could barely hold a job. every couple months he came home upset but i had never known why. my mom told me he also had a gambling problem. every payday, he'd go down to the inferno. divide whatever he got by half. and spent half of his earnings in the casino than on his family.
we were living in a two bedroom apartment.. the dealbreaker on moving came when i was eight and my sister, alexandria was born. since we didn't have much money to begin with, we moved into a small house in the downtown area. yeah, it was the poor section dubbed by the rich kids the 'shaks.' i still carried on as normal, being my usual happy self, not really seeing how much my parents were fighting. my last sibling was born when i was eleven. after that, my parents were done having kids. i'm pretty sure gabriel was a mistake. i started running with a lot of the neighbor kids. it was kind of a big group of us just going from street to street unintentionally (and something intentionally) looking for trouble. we did was normal kids did. played kickball in the street, ran threw the woods, and made faces at the rich kids are age as they walked with their parents on main street. i was always deemed the 'nice one' from the beginning. i was the rhyme and reason of the group. i still did the shenanigans, but not without chiming to my friends that this wasn't a good idea, or that we could get in trouble.
tragedy struck when i was thirteen years old. one day, i woke up, and my dad wasn't there. after a few days of not seeing him, my mom sat me down. she said since i was the oldest, she needed my help. she just laid it on me: my dad left. i didn't understand what she meant by that. how could he be gone? just last weekend we were camping. and just last week my dad was coming to my football games. even if i was only thirteen i knew i had to step up. that it was my responsibility to help my mother out. she was a single mom of four that never finished college and just had her husband of eleven years walk out on her. i was pissed at my father. i mean, he didn't even say goodbye. he didn't leave any money for us, just left. i still don't know why he did it.
that's when i stepped up. somehow, i got hired as a bus boy at the happy falcon pizza. i guess they felt sorry for me. all the money i got, i gave it to my mom. she always said i was too good of a son. i know she felt bad, she often told me she was a failure at a mother. it hurt me to have her think that. everyone in the family took the absence of dad differently. i was still angry, but being the oldest i took the responsibility of 'man of the house.' i helped my siblings get ready for bed when my mom worked late at the diner, i helped with homework, i did laundry, i made dinner and packed lunches for school. i just wanted to help my mom out, take the workload off at home off for her. at first, noah was pissed at me for taking over dad's job of being there. after a year, he knew i was just helping. he took his anger of dad not being there out on me. alexandria was only five, but she cried all the time wanting to know where dad was. gabriel was too young to really know what happened.
i got accepted into valkyrie's academy on a scholarship. besides being extremely hardworking, i'm pretty decent in my academics. well, more than decent, actually. and i'm a pretty good baseball player. high school did make my life more stressful than it was. when i was fifteen, i quit my job at the pizza place and got hired at a construction company. it's a hard and often dangerous but it pays well for someone my age. one of the guys, sean, was friends with my dad. he doesn't know why my dad walked out, because believe me, i have asked, but sean feels bad for what my father has put me through and so he set me up with this job and has become my mentor. when i turned sixteen, the construction company i worked for had a few guys that were really into cars. the company ended up sponsoring a stock car to race on the weekends against other stock cars. i was young, but i wanted to drive so bad. somehow, they let me test ride the finished stock car. i think, mostly to make me stop whining about wanting to be the driver. ends up, i was pretty darn good. things don't really come naturally for me, but racing did. the guys let me race the first competition they entered. when i got in second my first time competing, they decided this was something i just had to do. another dangerous job i could add on the list. it definitely wasn't like busting tables at the pizza place. so, aside from the construction job i have, on the weekends i race for cash. it's legal, don't worry. though the cash prize is divided between me and the crew, it's just extra money i can give to my mom at the end of the day. right now, i am still making money to support my mom and the family, taking care of my younger brothers and sister, doing homework, and working. it's a lot on my plate right now but somehow, i have been managing it."
