PERSONAL STYLE: Unlike the majority of his family, Gale was never impressed or caught up with money. He's always been fairly simple, and it shows when he dresses. If not in his military attire, he's usually just wearing some simple khaki shorts or a pair of old oil stained jeans. He never spends more than twenty bucks on any article of clothing unless it's something nice that his family or friends may have bought for him. He likes button up shirts, but nothing dressy looking, and then will sometimes stick with a plain, solid colored, t-shirt.

always wanted to be a professional baseball player though it never seemed realistic, especially since he ended up joining the army instead of pursuing it, so he just doesn't think about it anymore.
used to be a pretty bad kid, drank, fought, was involved in shady things, drugs and whatever. another kids death was even partially on his hands, though nobody knows, but there were suspicions. he doesn't talk about it, but most natives know his former rep. and tend to judge him for it even though he's completely different.
BEST MEMORY: he doesn't exactly have a best memory, though most of the better ones are from when he turned eighteen to present. after joining the military he felt a lot better about himself, a lot more in control of his life, and a lot more respectable. another touching memory was when paisely sent her first letter to him while he was on his first tour when nobody else spoke to him.
WORST MEMORY: his worst memory is probably a tie between when his 'best friend' at the time stabbed a kid and he did nothing to stop it, and this time on his first tour where he panicked and hid while the majority of his squad was killed in an ambush, though he did redeem himself toward the end by saving the life of a fellow soldier. he still holds the heavy guilt on his shoulders from both those events to this day.
OVERALL PERSONALITY:
Gale was always a little different from the rest of his siblings, you could say he was more of the outcast. He didn't quite live up to his parents expectations, and he wasn't as perfect as the rest of the kids made their parents believe they were. He was always a bit off, like the rest of them had been on the AM frequence while he was stuck on FM.

The young man had always been fairly awkward socially. He never knew quite what to say or when to say it. There were never eloquence in his words, no forms of persuasion, seduction, or anything of the sort. With girls he never knew what they wanted to hear, and in general he isn't very good with compliments. He just was never given that smooth-talker ability his sisters had or the charm his eldest brother had. Being inept when it came to his social life ended up making Gale not considered awkwardly social any longer, but instead anti-social. Do most people continue at things they fail miserably at? No. They stop embarrassing themselves, and that's what Gale did. He figured if he was just going to sound like an idiot when he tried to be nice or like a complete dick for saying all the wrong things, he would just keep his mouth shut. That made him more intimdating though, and didn't help much in the social sector. People got scared of him and didn't want to mess with the strong, silent, type.

Gale was never caught up on money, or the lifestyle, the rest of his family was living. Expensive clothes and houses weren't things that impressed him, though granted the nice cars were something he wasn't going to complain about. He didn't care for the formal parties only elite and wealthy fmailies were invited to. He hated the pressure of having to go to harvard and become a lawyer or going to stanford to ecome a doctor and hitting up any other schools with high prestige and expectations. He never wanted to be a lawyer, or a doctor, or anything his family really wanted him to pursure. In fact, he wanted to be a professional baseball player, but he screwed that up in high school and his next choice was the army. He figured when he came back he could always do something else he loved, like fixing cars. It wasn't like his parents approved of a vehicle mechanic either though. It didn't really bother him, They still loved him. It wasn't ever his career path that made Gale's parents a little less affectionate towards him.

Just a few years ago, before he cleaned up and joined the army, Gale wasn't quite the controlled, self-respecting man he is now. He used to have intense anger issues, though now he manages to control it. He used to get into a lot of trouble because of it, always getting into fights or doing some other thing the Good Lord Jesus would definitely not be approving of. He rolled with a bad crowd for a while, and that got him drinking profusely, and getting a lot more involved in an underground drug world than he'd ever like to admit. He's very ashamed of his past, and just tries to be better for his siblings sakes. They are all very distant from him, except for Shasta and Paisely, who never held any of it against him. He is trying to make up for what he did though, like he owes them some unpayable debt. He just wants to be accepted into his family again.

Though people who have known him longer, like during his darker days, may not think so, Gale really is just a giant teddy bear. He cares about people and goes out of his way to make their lives better, or easier. He's no stranger to life, he just wants what everybody else does- to be accepted, to be loved. He's not really looking for love from a woman, but from his family. He feels like he let them down and just wants to make it up to them. Gale has always figured he would die in the army, like it's his destiny or something. It doesn't scare him, in fact he almost wants to because he figures it will be good for his life to go to something good. So that is why he doesn't make any attempt at making anything permanent for the future, for when he is no longer in service to the armed forces.

Gale had never been much of a lady's man. He never had a girlfriend or anything serious, anybody who made him want to get serious. When he was a teenager he slept around a lot, and usually with girls who had daddy problems around the valks or trashy shak girls who wanted sex as much as he had. He feels bad about it, yeah, but because of the lack of affection he felt for any of those girls, he doesn't really think he will ever find love. He almost feels like he isn't somebody worth loving, like people could find someone better than him. Gale doesn't really believe in love. Not for him, at least.

Gale has always been quick to anger or jealousy. When he was younger he gave into it much easier as well, acting before he thought. These days he has a lot more self control, but it doesn't help. It's not hard to piss him off or make him want to beat your brains in, and the only reason he doesn't is because of his training. He's good t hiding his emotions, so people never quite know if they've hit a nerve or something. Usually he just yells or punches inanimate objects when he's alone if you piss him off, but step on the right strings and you may just provoke a completely irrational, physical, or maybe just verbal, reaction from him. And it's not pretty.

While he may not seem like the sharpest tool in the shed, Gale really is smart. Maybe not brilliant with books, but he has street smarts. In school he passed his classes. Not at a valedictorian status, but he passed all right. He wasn't a flunkee. However, when it comes to worldly things, things that you don't have to read a math book to understand, Gale is pretty intelligent. He just knows things. Wise beyond his years, per se. And then there i always his uncanny ability with cars and machines. Gale can fix things. It's a natural gift he's always had, and it comes in handy when a sister who is pissed of at you needs her car checked out because somethings wrong. Instant forgiveness. Not to mention it gives him a backup plan if he does end up living through the army years.
