OVERALL PERSONALITY: When you first meet tyler, he may come across as a quiet guy. And its true. He is more on the shy side around people he doesn't know very well. He tends to keep to himself and his small group of friends at parties. He isn't one to jump onto the nearest table and start dancing with everyone. He has his group of friends and doesn't really want anything more. This leads to his inability to trust people. He has been through a lot in his life and he has been lied to so many times that he no longer knows who to trust. Therefore don't be surprised when you're on your first date, and he doesn't say much. It takes time for him to open up, but once he does, he has got a lot to say.
Once you get to know him, you realize that he is actually really kind, and sweet. He was raised well by his mother, thats for sure. He is always there to open doors for the ladies and always there for a hug. He's a big 6''1 teddy bear pretty much. He is also very and I mean very protective of his family and friends, especially his thirteen year old sister. You would think a brother and sister would fight, but these two aren't like that at all. Whenever they're together they hang out as if they're best friends. Ever since their father died when tyler was fifteen, he became really protective of her, for no reason really, but he still felt the need to. Whenever his sister went out with friends, he would always offer rides and made sure she got home safely before he went to bed. Though this annoyed her as the years went on, she knew it was for her own safety.
When it comes to love, Tyler isn't really sure what to say. He has had his share of girlfriends, but none of them have been longer than four months. But it's not like he's desparate, trying to look for the right girl. He knows one day he will find her, and so he just leaves it be. But when he likes a girl, he does everything for her. But when it comes to revealing his true feelings, he fails. Its hard for him to reveal his true feelings. He also gets jealous easily and to some girls he may seem like he is too clingy, though it is true. But as long as the girl is honest with him, he is fine.

SIBLINGS: Erica McCarthy (sister)

LIVING SITUATION: dorm
HISTORY: Tyler Jay McCarthy was born December 26th, twenty one years ago in the city of Denver, Colorado. He was born into a middle class family with an average income. One that had enough money to occasionally buy that new video game console and the new snowboards and stuff, but also one that didn't have money to spend everywhere. Robert McCarthy was a truck driver, while Lilith McCarthy was a waitress at the local diner. Both worked very hard at their jobs so that their children could have a decent life. At age eight, Tyler received the news that he had a baby sister. And boy was he happy. He always shared his cars and toys with her and she always played with him.
Everything was splendid until tyler turned fifteen. Tyler's father, Robert, died of a heart attack. His death caused grief among the whole family, and all of the family's friends since he was one amazing father. Tyler then began working, helping his mother out in anyway he can all through high school. When he graduated, he knew what he wanted to do, and that was join the army. He enlisted not long after graduation and soon enough, was sent overseas. For two years he battled with his comrades, until one cool evening in March. Tyler was shot. Tyler and his fellow soldiers were doing a patrol in Baghdad. Everything seemed quiet and normal, but all of a sudden a man emerges from a balcony of one of the buildings, and screams at Tyler and the other soldiers. He was speaking in another language so they didn't know what he was saying. But then the strange man took out a huge rifle, and aimed it at the men. Unfortunately he shot Tyler before the soldiers were able to shoot him down. Tyler was never in so much pain in his whole life. And as he layed there, while his friends got him a stretcher and drove him to the hospital, he thought about his life. He wasn't sure if he was going to die, but based on the pain he already felt like he was dying. Then the thought of his mother crying over another loss really upset him. She already went through her husband's death, and he didn't want her to go through another one, though he should have thought about that before enlisting, but it was too late now. Then all he remembers is blacking out, and then waking up in a white room.
At first he didn't know whether he was alive or just dreaming. He blinked a few times and tried to recall the past events, finally remembering that he was shot. And he was alive. Then as if he was waiting for Tyler to wake up, the general came in. Lieutenant, your mother called and would like to talk to you, he said. Tyler nodded, but didn't say anything. Then the general passed him the phone, and left the room. He talked to his mother for an hour or so, explaining and telling her that he was okay and she will see him again soon. Once Tyler's wounds were healed up, he was allowed for a leave of a week. He packed his things, and soon enough he was on a plane back to Denver. Both his mother and sister were there to pick him up, and he was so happy to see them. On the ride home, it was quiet. His sister sat in the back, texting her friends, and his mother just kept her eyes on the rode. Tyler was tired, so he closed his eyes and probably fell asleep since the next thing he remembers is his mother waking him up. Tyler was glad to be home, in his own bed. He slept like a baby that night, knowing he was safe from any bombardments and shootings.
During the week, his mother then started talking about how Tyler should resign. At first, he was against it. He still felt the need to serve his country, and that if he quit so soon, he felt as if he abandoned his soldiers back at the post. But after a few days, he realized that maybe it was for the best. He already served two years, and took a bullet so maybe it was time. He finally agreed, and though he didn't want to, he also knew that being in the army meant risking his life. And he didn't want his mother to go through another death. That would be too much. 3 months later, he was officially out, but not before being honored for his serve. He spent the following year at home, working and trying to get his own career on track. In spring, he decided that he should attend school and get some sort of degree. So in the fall he started attending Valkyrie University in California due to the scholarship that he got from there. He hopes to get a degree in business and hopefully open up some sort of store or something.

ROLEPLAY EXAMPLE:Thankyou, he said, smiling at the grocery lady. He grabbed his bag of food and made his way out the door and towards his car. He put the bag of groceries in the passenger seat, and started his car. It was just another ordinay day, except the fact that it was the weekend. He pulled out of the parking lot, and then out onto the roads, and headed home. He surprisingly had plans for the day. Usually what he did was spontaneous and thought of as the day went on, but not that day. His childhood friend/superstar Jolie Jennings invited him over. She was happy she did cause otherwise he would spend his whole day either with his drunken friends or watching tv. He was honestly excited to see Joey. Her family has always been really kind to him, especially when they let him live with them when his mom passed away. When he was living with them, he tried not to bother them that much. He just focused on his schooling and didn't get into trouble. Last thing he wanted was for him to be brought home in a cop car. And still, even after he moved out and graduated, they were still really kind to him. He and Joey were still good friends too, though he hasn't seen her in a while.
Okay, he lied. He has seen her, but through pictures, tv, etc. And he must say she has changed a lot from her little girl self. She is also very successful, at the very young age of seventeen. He admires her for that. At a young age she already knew what she wanted and that was to become famous. He remembered back to when he was still living with them, and he would hear joey singing in the shower. He turned into his apartment building's parking lot, and parked his car. He got out, and got his things, then locked his car and made his way towards the building entrance. Once he was in his apartment, he put his stuff down on the counter, and went into his room to go change into something else, though he didn't have anything really fancier. He decided on a gray shirt over jeans. Slipping those on, he then made his way back to the kitchen and put away the groceries, and then grabbed his keys, wallet, and phone. He then made his way back towards the parking lot, and towards his black 2007 mitsubishi eclipse. He liked his car, a sort of gift he got from his rich friends. Well not really but they let him buy it way cheaper than its original value. He got in, and started the car. He pulled out and made his way towards Jolie Jennings' house.
He knew he was going in the right direction when the houses started to become bigger and more luxurious. As he turned onto the road of her house, he noticed a group of people on Joey's driveway, and then he immediately knew. Of course, the paparazzi. He sighed. There was always a flip side to being famous. He felt bad for Joey, who wherever she went, she was always followed by flashes and millions of questions. He pulled into their long driveway, and immediately the paparazzi started taking pictures of him and kept yelling Who are you? and why are you here? He ignored them, and kept driving up the driveway, until finally the paparazzi stopped following him since it was the end of their boundaries. He got out of his car, and he could still hear the paps shouting out the same questions. Once again,he ignored them, and stuffed his keys into his pocket. He then made his way up to the front door, happy that he will finally see his friend.
Before he could even ring the doorbell, the door opened. Tyler smiled when he saw her. And boy did she look grown up. She wasn't that little girl he always knew anymore. And to tell you the truth, she was attractive, but Tyler knew that would be very weird to say since she has always been like his little sister. He was about to say something when she spoke. oh my god..seriously...you wore that..to the house of jolie jennings!? Tyler rolled his eyes, knowing she was joking. And of course she was cause the next second she was hugging him. how are you? she asked. I'm great, thanks, he smiled, and then wrapped his arms around her in a hug. you don’t even know how excited i am to see you. for real, being on a tour bus with the same people for months can drive you crazy! Tyler laughed when she said that. Well you saved me from another day with my crazy friends. They drive me insane sometimes, he chuckled. When she gestured inside, he stepped into the beautiful home, and immediately felt the cold air conditioned air.
Though he lived there for a while, he felt like a foreigner inside the mansion. He was so used to his small apartment that he didn't feel like he belonged in such a house as this one. But he pushed the thought away. It didn't matter really cause he was with Joey, his childhood friend. So I met your little friends on the driveway, he said, referring to the paparazzi. They sure are... friendly, he laughed. He couldn't help but look at her. She has changed so much since the last time they saw each other. And he probably has too, but not by much. Maybe a little taller, or something. So how have you been?credit: format by lainey, lyrics by modest mouse
