f course paisely would be getting in his business about a date. that is what he got for wearing a tie and going a bit formal. she was bound to be curious, who could blame her? ”what’s her name? is she pretty?” she drilled him eagerly, her eyes lighting up with excitement. she was probably more thrilled about jacob’s date than he was. ”her name is bailey, and of course she’s pretty. part time model. blonde.” he grinned at his little sister, raising his eyebrows. paisely rolled her eyes. blonde? how typical. she was looking rather tired, just getting home from a private session with her personal volleyball trainer. it was a relief for jake. that meant she was most likely just going to go to bed or stay home tonight. no need to worry about her. paisely was a wild child, not as bad as he'd been in his glory days, but one night could change that. he was always up tight about it, but it was because he cared for her. a lot. she was his baby sister, and since callie was never really into the whole party scene, paisely was the only little sister he had to even worry about. sometimes she could get out of hand, and he knew that. "stay out of trouble tonight, kay?" the girl rolled her eyes, giving him a scowl, "shut up, i'm not a kid." she sighed and then continued, "anyway, calls, saydie, mel, analeigh, mom, and i are having a movie night for us girls. so go away! have fun! take the pole out of your butt and get out of here!" she rushed up, gave him a hug, and trotted out of the room to do whatever it is she'd be doing that night. jacob rolled his eyes and looked in the mirror. he looked good, great for a first date. he only ever did this when he thought he had relationship potential with a girl. this bailey was a candidate. she was nice and smart, very talented and bubbly. maye he'd end up really liking her. but even though he never would admit it to himself, even if a relationship formed... it would never last very long. it was a problem he had. jake had never been able to stay in a committed relationship, not for very long. he'd always pushed people away and close off from them. it wasn't on purpose, and he didn't exactly mean to do it. it was like a self defense mechanism. jake was afraid of falling in love and not having it work out. he'd seen what it had done to his older siblings, and though melanie never really seemed affected, rocky relationships tore apart saydie and noah. noah was married now though, and very happily. so jake had hope. he figured he'd find the right girl someday. she was out there, and hey, maybe she'd been under his nose the whole time? maybe it was this girl he was going to go meet with soon. who knows. life was full of surprises, and he planned on recieving love unexpected. that was how it should be. he'd never been the type to plan things out. being spontaneous was preferred. the clock read that it was five thirty. time to leave. he was almost a little regretful this happened to be the night his date fell on. it was such a rarity for his entire family to be home all at the same time. the girls were all hanging out... so that meant noah, his nephew cody, jace, hunter, cameron, edmund, nd his dad were probably all going to be doing stuff too. he was somewhat jealous, but he didn't want to cancel on the girl. so he shrugged it off and headed for the door, not wanting to be late. "bye mom, dad, noah, analeigh, cody, melanie, saydie, paisely, jace, callie, edmund, hunter, and cameron!" he yelled, having to take a breath afterwards. it echoed throughout the house. one by one, he slowly recieved goodbyes from his parents, and smart comments from the rest of his family. it made him laugh to hear all the noise. he shut the door and went to his truck, hopping in a starting it up. he didn't have to pick up bailey, so he was just going to meet her there. it took him about twenty minutes to get to the restaurant. when he got there, he went to a table. everybody there was dressed pretty casually, so he felt sort of dumb... but bailey had wanted asian food, and she wanted to go formal, so hey, he did it. nobody really seemed to care anyways. jake sat there, looking at the menu for a while. he checked his phone a few times. no messages. the waitress came around and asked him if he'd like to order, but he informed her that he was waiting for somebody. he checked his phone again. it was six ten. the time dragged on. six twenty. the waitress asked again, but he isisted he'd been waiting for somebody. she rolled her eyes, annoyed, and marched away. six thirty. six forty. six forty-five. six fifty. where was she? jacob picked up his phone. would it be clingy if he called her? no. it wouldn't. she was fifty minutes late for a date she'd wanted to go on. he pressed send when he reached her name on the contact list. it rang three times before she picked up, "hey? bailey? are you still coming?" there was an awkward pause, and then she gasped. it sounded like she was with somebody, "jacob from the baseball team? oh man! i forgot... i um..." so she was standing him up? awesome. he waited for her to continue, but a male's voice was on the phone instead, "bailey is a little... busy right now. and she's always going to be. don't call back." jake heard a giggle and a chuckle, and then the whole went dead. great. that was probably the worst way that could have gone. the waitress came by again. it was seven o'clock, "sir? you can't sit here all night. it's been an hour. please order somthing or leave. we're busy tonight."jake stared at her for a moment, debating. should he just go home? or have a dinner for one? he undid his tie and threw it onto the table, unbuttoning the top few buttons of his shirt. he grinned at the waitress, "i'm sorry. um, i'll have a family amount of orange chicken, twenty egg rolls, fried rice," he went on, ordering enough food for his whole family. he'd eat and take the left overs back. why not enjoy himself, right? the waitress stared at him with wide eyes, "are you sure? are you... going to pay for all this?" jacob laughed lightly, "i'll pay before i eat if you'd really like." she shook her head, obviously thinking he was insane, "no need. your food will be right over." she turned around and walked away, shaking her head. jacob leaned back in his little booth. it wasn't like he'd known bailey all that well, so what was the point of moping over her? he was going to enjoy himself and eat his food. even if he had to alone. it would be fun and he didn't care who gave him strange looks for it. he sat there patiently, just grinning like he'd won a million bucks. he was going to be happy. Kiana sat on her couch staring at the huge flat screen hanging on the wall. Holding the remote in her hand she flipped through channel after channel. Why was nothing ever on?! Over 500 channels and nothing she wanted to watch was ever on. Finally she stopped on an old episode of Americas Next Top Model. Sighing she gently tossed the remote next to her and looked around the large house. It was so quiet..so, boring. She thought to herself. A night she wasn't out and partying and she just couldn't enjoy the relaxation and quiet of the house.
Maybe a bubble bath would help me relax she thought to herself. Grabbing the remote she turned off the t.v. Getting up from the leather couch she headed out of the den and towards the stairs that would take her to the third level and to her room. As she went up the stairs her kitten, Stach, followed closely at her heels. She laughed lightly and turned around to see the kitten taking one stair at a time. 'You silly little thing.'she said to the kitten who answered her with a loud meow. Bending over she picked up the black and white kitten and continued up the stairs. The little kitten purred and rubbed his head on her arm.
Reaching the landing she walked down the hallway to her room. The third level was all hers. It had her room, bathroom, closets, and an office. Walking into her room she closed the door and looked around with a deep sigh. She walked to her bed and set Stach on it and look around. Where did I put my robe? Finding it hanging on a hook on the wall where it was actually supposed to be she grabbed it and walked to her bathroom, connected to her room. Closing the door she locked it out of habit. Leaning over the bathtub she reached for the knobs and turned the water on extremely hot and poured a large amount of Warm Vanilla scented bubble bath into the rushing aqua.
Standing up she looked at herself in the mirror and sighed, what a sad sight she was. She looked like she had just crawled out of bed. Even though she had been up since ten she hadn't done a single thing today. Oh well she thought. Undressing she took a ponytail from her wrist and put her hair up high so it wouldn't get wet. Stepping towards the tub she dipped her foot in to test the water. Finding it suitable she stepped in and lowered herself down into the mass of bubbled and water. Leaning against the back of the tub she closed her eyes. With her right hand she reached around the side of the tub. Pressing a button the jets in the tub came on and pushed against her. Yup, this was relaxing.. Now if O only had a glass of wine and maybe a sexy man to share this bath with. She laughed lightly at herself.
She soaked in the tub for nearly a half hour before she realized how wrinkly her hands and toes were getting and how loud her stomach was growling. Kiana hadn't eaten since this morning when she got up and feeling so relaxed she didn't really want to cook right now. Getting out of the bath she wrapped her robe around herself and let the water out. Maybe I'll just go get some take out Asian sounds amazing right now ... Contemplating to herself she went to her closet and threw together a quick outfit. Drying off she threw her cloths on and went back to the bathroom to fix up her make-up.
Looking in the mirror she fixed her make up and took her hair out of the pony tail. Getting out her straightener she ran it through her hair a couple times to get rid of the pony tail kinks. Once satisfied she walked back into her room looking around for her Ed Hardy clutch. Finding it on her desk she grabbed it. 'I'll be back in a few Stach. If your a good kitty I'll bring you back some sweet and sour chicken.' She scratched the little cats back to meowed loudly in response.
She left out towards the garage and got into he Audi. Starting it up she left out the gate and pressed the button to close it behind her. Kiana turned on the radio and cruised down to the near by Asian dining restaurant Asian King. Pulling in she parked and got out of her car. Locking it she made sure she had her clutch before walking into the really busy restaurant. Glancing at her phone it was seven twenty and this place was packed. Upon walking in the strong smell of Asian Cuisine hit her nose causing her stomach to growl loud and her mouth to salivate. She walked directly to the front counter and waited in a line of five or so people to be helped. Kiana's stomach growled again and she clutched it hoping no one heard it. Not that it was likely, this place was loud.
Everyone was talking and laughing. She took a quick glance around. Most everyone here was with someone. A lot of family's too she also noted. There was one table, seated for two, with only one person sitting at it. This table not only stuck out because it had one person at it, but also because the fool sitting at the table was dressed in a five star restaurant sort of way. Kiana covered her mouth and laughed lightly, what a weird-o. Just then the guy glanced up from his food and Kiana stopped laughing. Her face became straight and shocked. What? No...It couldn't be.. Here? In Valkyrie? She covered her mouth in shock and stood in her spot, stone still.
The lady behind the counter called to her 'Ma'am? Ma'am? Excuse me Miss, it's your turn to order. Hello?!' Kiana turned and looked at her not saying a word. She turned and walked slowly towards the table where Jacob Parker was seated. Seeing the empty chair she pulled it out quietly and gently sat down it in. He had been looking down and probably hadn't noticed that she took a seat in front of him. Kiana sat there, just sat there, looking at him, not saying a word, just looking. How could this be? This was so ironic... She thought she would never see the likes of Jake Parker ever again... But here he sat right in front of her at Asian King munching on an egg roll. Sexy as always. Still she sat silently, speechless, unsure of what to say to him.

i'm so in love that i acted insane&& that's the way i loved you. • - • - • - • - • - • - • now that he thought about it… had jacob ever really been stood up before? no. he hadn’t. the idea of it was ridiculous to him. how could she stand him up? apparently whoever this other guy was had some much more to offer. was he better looking? smart? rich? jake was very wealthy as well, but he didn’t really brag about it. come to think of it… that girl probably didn’t even know his last name. why were women so confusing? first they were all over you, next they’re in love, and then all of a sudden they are in love with some other guy who just seems like a better offer at the time. it was all so dumb. like a circle. then again, maybe something was wrong with him. he'd never been able to last longer than a couple months in a relationship. in fact, had he even been in a serious relationship since his senior year? not that he could remember. he'd dated plenty of nice, pretty girls in his teenage years. none of them ever really managed to keep a hold of him. it wasn’t their fault. they were attractive, most of them had pretty good personalities, jacob just had a hard time staying committed. he never had cheated on a girl, and never even would consider it. however, he grew lest interested or antsy or just flat out found stupid reasons to start ending things. there really wasn’t a good reason for it. jake had always just been afraid of getting hurt. he didn’t want to put himself out there for somebody who was just going to leave him be in the end. maybe it was a negative way of thinking, but why would he put himself in a position that could possibly turn out badly? one day he might give it up, he might just give a girl a chance and stick with her for a while. he was a heartbreaker, and he knew it. it wasn’t something he was proud of, just who he was. if it weren’t for the fact that he was here because of college and that he was very family oriented, well he would probably be one of those considered a “deserter”. he wasn’t the type of guy to stick around his past relationships. hell, he couldn’t remember the last girl he’d seriously dated who he actually even spoke to after breaking up with them. probably not one. there was not a single individual who he could recall. jacob had always been the type to cut all communication afterwards. he figured if a relationship didn’t work out the first time, well then cut your losses and give it up. plus, the whole “exes can be friends” stuff was never really true. girls were crazy. they started rumors, created problems… and cried. god, he hated it when they cried. it was definitely one of his weak points. it didn’t make him want to get back together with them, but it did make him feel guilty. the young man knew he was the main issue in his relationships. he usually forced the end of them. really, he couldn’t think of a time he’d actually been dumped. sure, there were a few mutual break ups in the mix… but nobody had ever dumped him out of nowhere. that was part of the reason why being stood up was such a shock to him.
jacob had never been the type of guy to dwell on the past. he liked to live in the present. simple as that. to be completely honest, that was probably why the whole “being stood up” ordeal wasn’t hitting him very hard. he'd really already forgotten about it. she was a real fine looker, that bailey was, but she wasn’t anything special. come to think of it, they really didn’t have much chemistry. in the long run they probably would have decided to be friends anyway, so maybe it was good they never even proceeded to the awkward phase of dating then friendship. she was a cool, sweet girl. if she hadn’t been such a flake, he’d probably be more willing to consider this friendship thing, but at this point he honestly didn’t really care if he ever even saw her again. he wasn’t going to hold it against her, he just wasn’t the grudge holding type, but he definitely was not going to go out of his way to go find her and tell her it was okay. if she found him and apologized, then he’d be fine with the idea. until then though, he wasn’t really going to think about it. all’s fair in love and war, right?
the food took a bit longer than usual to be delivered to his table, most likely because of the odd amount of food he had ordered. there was a long line to get into the restaurant, but it wasn’t so bad that he felt obligated to get up and move. he was only in a booth sized for two people. they could all wait their turn. finally the waitress came with the food, along with two other co-workers. he almost chuckled to himself at how much food he’d ordered. it was enough for ten people, after all. three servers wasn’t an all too ridiculous amount to deliver it to him. after all the food was left on the table, his stomach growled. he hadn’t eaten all day, and frankly, the smell of this food was driving him mad. he snatched up an egg roll and began taking bites out of it when his phone vibrated. looking down, he saw it was from paisely. how’s your date going? it read. jacob frowned to himself, looking downward as he proceeded to respond, it’s not going. stood up. it took her only seconds to respond, are you kidding? want me to make her suffer? are you coming home?
he smiled a little to himself, taking another bite, no thanks. you can save your vindictive traits for when some guy stands you up. i'll be home after i eat. her next text came even sooner right. like i'd ever be stood up! you pig. see you soon. he snorted to himself, conceited little girl. lol. bye. he locked his phone and slid it into his pocket, shaking his head to himself. paisely had always been such a little spitfire. he looked up, intending to grab another egg roll, but saw that somebody had taken a seat on his booth, ”Excuse you, but this—“ he began, but then his jaw dropped. it wasn’t some random girl. it was a familiar face. it was kiana bragstag. it had taken him a few moments to recognize her. after all, he hadn’t seen her since his junior year in high school. she'd changed, but only slighty. she looked better, though he’d never think that possible. she'd became more of a woman… her body, her facial features… everything. what were the odds he’d meet her here? after managing to collect himself, he flashed her a big grin. she'd said nothing yet. man, she’d been one of the girls he dated that he had liked the most. she'd always been one of the most fun to hang out with. he could still remember when he first met her. jacob had taken a trip to los angeles, the details were a little fuzzy, but he’d met her there at a party or bonfire or something. that was the end of his sophomore year. they’d hit it off immediately and tried to have a long distance relationship. he had visited her a few times when his family went of trips there, but overall it hadn’t worked out and they broke up. shocker. ”kiana?!” he asked incredulously, his eyebrows raising, ”what are you doing here? how are you? sit, eat, talk!” he leaned over the table, his face completely animated. the waitress from before was now looking at him a little apologetically, thinking maybe he did have a date… though this little encounter with ki was better than a date with bailey. Sitting across from this man she couldn't help but stare at him as he texted whoever was on the other end. She couldn't help but feel a bit stalker like. Here she was, in the middle of Asian King of all placed, staring at her old high school love. Not saying a word, just, studying him. He was just like she remembered him. How he ate was just the same as always, his hair was now short though, she liked it, it made him look older and even sexier. If possible. Yes. Very possible. Kiana couldn't help but to wonder what he was doing here, dressed up like that, and what the hell was with all this food?! Sure when they were in school together he was hitting puberty and all the jazz eating enough to feed ten football players? But still[?/i]
Oh no. Nothing about Jacob Parker. Kiana smiled gently at the slight relief she felt knowing he was just the same as he always had been. Because she sure hadn't changed much herself and she was sure he would notice that. Just the same plain jane girl sitting here in front of this very handsome man, Jake Parker. She sat there contemplating on leaving before he even noticed she had sat down. What if he thinks I'm crazy for just sitting here? What if he doesn't ever want to see me again? What if I'm not good enough for him anymore? She held her breath lightly and was too struck to move.
As she studied him her mind went back to years ago. The glory days of her life, high school. Being the queen bee of a high school wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Except the part where you get all the hot MVP's of surrounding schools. Kiana had just some how stumbled upon Jake Parker. It was very vivid in her mind how she had met him. They both happened to be at the same Senior beach party. They both always managed to get invited to the upper class men parties because they were the 'cool kids.'
Anyways... She recalled it was a beach house party. They hosts parents were out on business in another country and Kiana had told her parents she was going to stay at Rachel's. Which she did, for the most part. But somehow her and Rachel ended up at the beach party. Kiana remembered sitting around the large bon fire everyone had brought beer and of course Kiana was drinking. But not much. She was on her third beer when she happened to glance through the fire and to the other side catching a glimpse of a very attractive boy who was talking with a group of other boys. He must of been telling a story because his lips were moving and everyone standing by him was laughing.
Kiana immediately liked him. At this time in her life she was a full out rebel. Not caring about her mom and really not caring about her low life alcoholic cheating father. She was looking for someone to love her no matter who it was. Ki had bravely approached him and demanded to know who he was and why she had never set eyes on him. She had been a huge flirt she recalled. As she always was when she got a couple drinks into her system. Her and Jacob had hit it off right away and spent the whole night talking about everything. She had never trusted someone so much in all her life. They had exchanged numbers and when he had left to go back home Kiana felt like something inside her had died.
They talked every night over the phone and he visited her every so often. Soon they had started dating. Everything was going great. He was a great friend and an even better boyfriend. But living so far away and not seeing each other had made it hard from them. So eventually they had broke up. If she recalled correctly it was somewhat mutual but Kiana had still loved him when they called it quits. She had never really stopped loving him. He had been the first boy to ever treat her right, to ever really mean the things he said to her. All the other boys had just thrown her around like a rag doll.
Kiana was so naive she never realized how shitty all the other guys had treated her. She never loved or trusted any of them like she had Jake. He knew everything about her, her whole life story. The others she dated only knew the her she pretended to be at school. The rich, pretty, smart, nice, nothing-can-hurt-me, Kiana Marie Bragstad. She spent countless nights after they broke up crying and laying in bed holding her phone hoping, wishing, praying that her phone would ring and it would be him calling and asking to take her back. But he never called, never texted, not even and e-mail. Once it was done, it was done. Kiana had a hard time moving on, but she managed. She still thought about him from time to time, but she pushed the memories away like they were bad.
Hearing his voice brought her back to reality. Finally she moved and wriggled in her seat, nervous. As he spoke it sounded like he was about to kick her out of the table. But then he stopped mid sentence. Kiana looked at him with large hazel eyes and smile crept onto her lips as he said her name with such surprise. Him saying her name was so easy on her ears. just like the old days.[/] she thought to herself.
Kiana covered her mouth and laughed gently as he urged her to talk and eat. One question first... Kiana said giggling at him. Whats up with this? she said leaning across the table and gently tugging on the color of his nice white button up shirt. Which she couldn't help but notice was loosely unbuttoned showing slight chest hair he hadn't had much of when they dated. Kiana felt eyes on them and looked around seeing a few close tables and the waitress staring at them. What are you looking at? Haven't you ever seen two old friends talk? Get back to work... She glared at them not liking her time with Jacob interrupted by rude people. She looked back to Jake plastering a large white toothed smile on her face. God... It's so great to see you Jakey! She winked gently at him as she used his old nick name she had given him. It really was great to see him.

eeing kiana was making everything come back to him. they'd met at a beach party he'd gone to with his older sister. he'd been in los angeles because of baseball, but his parents were there with him. melanie had friends in the city, so she had hook ups of what was going on that night... and of course she took jake and the team with her, his parents near by as chaperones. he hadn't done anything questionable that night, and neither had his teammates. they didn't want to get in trouble and still had games to play in their tournament, so they mainly hung out together and joked around about what had happened on the field that day. some of his fellow team members were trying to pick up girls, a couple having more success than others. it wasn't until a very pretty girl walked up to him and demanded to know who he was. she was a freshman, but a hot one at that. the rest of the team joked about it, but jake had separated himself from them to get to know her better. her name was kiana bragstag, and he had learned a lot more about the soul behind the pretty face that night than he would have ever expected to. she seemed to trust him whole heartedly even though they just met. he didn't really have any amazing secrets to tell her, so he just listened and was very observant, giving his opinion and comfort when it had been necessary. after the long night, melanie came looking for him and had him leave with her. at first he could tell kiana was afraid his sister might have been his girlfriend, so he introduced mel to her. she was the first family member of jacob's that kiana had met. she'd been a senior at the time. anyway, jake exchanged his phone number with her and promised to keep in touch. he already liked this girl a lot. hhe could clearly remember the last time he saw her. he was a junior, and getting near the end of the first semester. his family went down to los angeles, it happened quite a bit because of his mother's medical research and his father being a lawyer, so he visited kiana, as he normally did. paisely was a freshman then, and she'd been introduced to kiana once or twice before. just the previous trip he'd introduced ki to every one of his siblings; noah, melanie, saydie, paisely, jace, callie, hunter, edmund, and cameron. he ever got her to meet his parents. that was also probably the end of their relationship. his whole family had liked her a lot, especially paisely, and it bothered him. he felt like he was getting in way deeper than he had ever intended. that last weekend he was there, he went alone with his parents. he straight up told kiana it wasn't working out. they were young and in high school, and it couldn't have lasted much longer anyways, or thats what he told her. she seemed to agree, but her eyes had an unfathomable expression in them he couldn't comprehend. that was the end of it, though. he said goodbye, went home to valkyrie, and never spoke to her again. he could have kept up the long distance relationship, but as usual he ended it, just like he had with most other relationships. for a few weeks he wondered if it was the right thing to do, but ended up distracting himself with other girls, and eventually forgot about kiana, deleted her number from his phone, and didn't wonder about the past anymore. jacob knew he wasn't the same person anymore he had been when he dated this girl sitting in front of him. sure, he was still generally the same... personality wise. he was cocky, friendly, faithful, caring, empathetic... and he still pushed people away. however, he was no longer the party boy he'd been back in his wilder days. his friend died during his senior year from the drug overdose, and that was over a year after his break up with kiana. that ended his partying days for the most part. jacob was an adult now. he'd matured a lot and he was really focusing on school and baseball. he wasn't a kid anymore, he was a young man. how did he know that she wasn't still the same quirky, spontaneous girl he'd once loved? what if he felt nothing anymore? did she still feel for him? it had been a long time. she was a sophomore in high school when they broke up. could she really have held onto her feelings for all these years? it had been a mutual breakup, hadn't it? jake was still trying to decipher if he even felt anything for her anymore. he hadn't even thought about her in years. maybe she was still present somewhere in the back of his mind... she'd really been a close friend of his. hearing her voice made him grin even bigger. one question? she reached over and pulled lightly at his shirt. the thought of her fingers being so close to his skin sent an electric current through him, "uh, right," he laughed, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly, "i was supposed to go on a date tonight... but she stood me up... apparently she has a boyfriend or something," he shrugged, laughed it off a bit. he was glad bailey had not come after all. it was much nicer to just chat with an old friend. he might even have to thank the girl for not showing up. he didn't realize how much he'd really missed kiana, "my turn for a question... what the hell are you doing in valkyrie?" he laughed exuberantly. what were the odds of her being in his home town? did she know he lived there? probably not. he'd always been the one visiting her. not the other way around. he snorted as kiana told off some servers, "no need to be catty, babe," he whispered playfully, glancing at the waitresses. it was good to see him? "no way, kid. it's good to see you," the term "jakey" made him chuckle a bit. nobody ever called him that these days but paisely... and she mostly did it to be annoying, "so have have you been ki? how long are you here? it's been ages!"[/blockquote][/blockquote] • - • - • - • - • - • - • TAGGED!

She looked at him with exuberant eyes. Knowing he was recalling every moment of their relationship also. There wasn't a single bad memory of their whole relationship. Everything up until the end was wonderful, they got along and trusted each other for the most part. Or at least Kiana thought he trusted her. When he showed up that last week at her house she could just tell something was different. When she answered the door to his knocking she threw herself at him in a big hug like always. But he didn't really return the favor. They hung out for the most part of the day but every time she looked into his eyes he seemed dead. All throughout the day he was distant... Kiana was her flirty self: kissing his neck, touching him softly, and saying quirky things to get him aroused.
But all of it failed to the least bit of a reaction out of him. Kiana finally asked him what the hell his problem was when they were up in her room and she had kissed his ear lobe softly. Knowing he liked this a lot, she expected for him to do something trying to break him out of his weird dead man trance. But still, nothing seemed to phase him. He just said Stop it Ki or I'm not in the mood right now. So finally Kiana threw herself into a far away chair on the opposite side of the room and looked at him, pouting. Are you going to tell me what the hell your problem is? You haven't seen me in weeks and now were finally together and you can barely lookat me Jake. Whats going on? she recalled very clearly saying these exact words to him. That's when he told her...told her everything. Saying they were just young and things weren't working out. Kiana remembered thinking that everything was working out just fine until he came to visit. But she lied to him and said she felt the same. She sat there in that pink chair staring at him, pretending to feel nothing. Her heart pounded against her chest with pain as she tried not to think about how much she hurt. She didn't want to cry. Not in front of him.
Welp, It was nice seeing you Jacob Parker. You better leave before my parents find you up here in my room. And that was Kiana's good bye. She walked him to the door and let him out. Closing the door she dropped down against it and cried. When her mother returned home from work that's where she found her. Crying by the front door. For a long time her mother thought someone raped or beat her. But later she finally told them how Jake broke up with her. Her mom told her everything would be okay, that she was a pretty girl, that their were more fish in the sea blah blah blah. Everything she didn't want to hear. But that was the past.
Kiana laughed A date? Here? Dressed like that? I don't recall you being that cheap Jake. Whats happened to you? Hearing about him being stood up she frowned What a Bitch. I'm sorry Jakey. I'll be your "Date" Ki winked at him with a laughed putting Date in quotes with her fingers. Listening to him talk and question her she rolled her eyes What am I not doing in Valkyrie is the better questioned. I'm going to school here at the Academy for fashion design. What are you doing here Jakey? She questioned him with an arched brow looking at the food before them. She Picked up a piece of chicken and took a nibble. I'll pay you back for this piece of chicken. I promise. she smiled widely at him. Though she hadn't really stopped smiley at him since they had started talking.
Sorry. I didn't mean to be a bitch. I just don't want to be interrupted right now. Babe? she questioned him with a look. Can't remember the last time you called me that. But the last time I got called that it was by some drunk guy grabbing my ass in the club...He got slapped. she shook her head. I've been pretty good... she continued with the conversation, Just got a house in the Valk's. It's ah-mmmazing! she laughed playing with her hair a bit just now remembering she probably looked like crap since she just got out of the tub. Turning red she laughed a little nervously You have to excuse my grungy look... I just took a bubble bath and decided Asian sounded good... I wasn't expecting to see anyone out here... she pulled her shirt down a little to cover her mid drift and looked at him again with tantalizing eyes. I'm here for a while seeing as I'm going to school here and have a house I just paid a fortune for. Why are you here? If your here for a while that will just give me another reason not to leave she teased him lightly. Though in the back of her mind she knew it was not a joke at all.

acob has so many different sides to himself. you'd think somebody who could be so dedicated, faithful, and even a bit obsessive about something like baseball or his family... would transfew it to his relationships as well. that wasn't the case though. jake had never fellt the need to have girlfriends. he just had them. no, he wasn't secretly gay. hell, he liked the feeling of girls a lot. but the whole relationship just wasn't something he handled very well. at first it was nice, being adored and holding hands, always having somebody to talk to or to hug when you're feeling a bit blue. most of the girls he dated were quirky and fun loving, and he really, truly enjoyed hanging out with them all... but for some reason the feelings never lasted. he always ended up finding something wrong with the relationship, or felt in too deep, or just lost feelings. sometimes it would get to the point where he felt sick every time he thought about a certain girlfriend when he wasn't with her, and eventually just broke it off. it bothered his mom and sisters a lot. they only ever met two of his girlfriends, first was ki, and second was the girl he dated his junior and senior years, the longest girl he ever dated, which was only around five months. he had plenty of girlfriends over the years, but he was more of a hook up and never speak again type, or just have a fling for a short period of time and then become friends. he ended up becoming friends with most of the girls he had short little things with, but the girls he actually officially dated, well that was a different story. he never spoke to them again, in fact, he never even thought of them after the first week post break up. it was just weird. maybe it was the fact that he felt awkward or uncomfortable or guilty. he knew he could be a heartbreaker, and it wasn't intentional, not really. who ever stays in a relationship they no longer have any interest in? most don't. jacob is a part of that large majority, though he does it a little more often than necessary. how often did he ever even miss a girl he dated? never. kiana and dani had been the two girls he ever really felt more than crush feelings for because they were the only girls he ever gave his time and understanding to. in all honesty though, breaking up with both of them wasn't hard. it was easy. sure, it hurt a little more than the others, but it didn't affect him in the long run. he probably felt worse, a little more sad, about dani than kiana, but that was only because he went to school with her and had to see her every day, while kiana lived in another city and he never saw her. he never even thought about her. was it a bad thing? he didn't think so. he hoped it wasn't. after his friend died his senior year though, that was when he really got sketchy about dating. in fact, he had been dating dani at the time. maybe if the event hadn't happened, he'd still be with her. well, probably not, but who knows how much longer it would have lasted. when jeff died though, well jake dumped her for good. he was a little too sad about his friend to feel guilty about that one. his whole senior year he didn't really have a girl friend. there were some flings here and there, but nothing big. for a while he even dropped dating all together. when he started college was when he really went a little wild girl-wise. his freshman year he just hooked up with whoever, but didn't really even consider being serious at all. when he transitioned into his sophomore year though, he grew up a little more. seeing noah and analeigh get married made him a bit more hopeful he'd find a girl, it made him jealous because he wanted that pure adoration for each other that they shared. analeigh was great though. not a girl jacob would have chosen, but she was perfect for noah. in fact, she reminded jake a lot of melanie, except she had a more temperate attitude. analeigh had always been like a sister to him. he loved having her be a part of their family. seeing kiana was... not a bad thing, but it was definitely weird. here was a girl he thought he'd never see again, not in his life, here in front of him, eating his food. he couldn't quite decipher his feelings, but he wasn't trying to. all he knew that he was fairly excited to see her and that it was comforting to see how well she was doing. what was mainly flowing through his mind was questions. how had she been? how different was she? how did she get on after the break up? did she have a boyfriend? how was her family? did she hate him? it was all much too strange. he could remember when they broke up clearer than he ever had before. it was the first time he even thought about her in years, around three years to be exact. a lot had changed. he had changed. he was an adult now, was she? he never really partied, ever. usually the only time he even drank was when he was with a couple of buddies or his team watching a game or something. back when he'd dated ki he had been pretty wild, and as he recalled, she had been too. they were immature and stupid and reckless, and the person he was now didn't envy that relationship. he remembered ending it, how she seemed to be fighting back some overwhelming emotion, how she told him to get out of her room before her parents clued in. it was so weird to be reminded, to remember. he felt a tinge of guilt, wondering if she ever though about him, or if she held a grudge against the dead, plain way he had broken up with her, or how he'd never called or texted her to even see how she was doing even though he knew all the crap she was going through with her dad and whatnot. he chuckled a bit when she criticized his former date plans, "don't judge me miss bragstag," he muttered a little condescendingly, "the girl who decided not to show up is the one who arranged it all. she wanted asian, she wanted formal. i was just going with it," he shrugged. jake had always done what his date wanted. it wasn't like what he was wearing made a different to him anyway. he laughed as kiana insulted bailey, whom she didn't even know most likely, "nah, don't say that. she's a nice girl. but you can be my date anytime," he winked at her, forgetting that they'd been boyfriend and girlfriend ever. he forgot how much of a good friend kiana had been with him. he was just goofing off, "what am i doing here?" he snorted, grinning hugely at her, "i grew up here, love. i've lived here my whole life, and my family has lived here even longer than that. i'm going to the university too though, weird i've never seen you?" he made it sound like a question, wondering if she'd ever seen him around. he listened a little distantly when she talked about the babe. for a second he was terrified she'd bring up their past, which was something he really didn't want to go over... but then she went off one something else and he laughed away his nerves. she had been good, and was living in the valks? " no way, valks? i've lived there for a while now, only like twenty years. house numero cuarto," he joked, trying out his spanish and hoping he really had said fourteen. he always got catorce (fourteen), cuatro (four), and cuarto (room), mixed up. oh well though. he noticed her fidgeting with her hair and pulling down her shirt, could she really not be confident? "shut up, you look great," he said lightly, raising his eyebrows. she continued on about how long she was going to be there, a while as she mentioned. that was nice, maybe they would hang out again. "well of course i'm going to be here for a while. my entire family is rooted her, it's my hometown, and i am also going to school... so until i get drafted into the majors, i'm gonna stick around," he winked, "and i do agree, i'm a very good reason to say, have you seen this sexiness anywhere else? you can't buy it in stores," he figured she was joking about him being a reason for her to stick around. he gave her a cocky grin, gesturing at himself playfully. Sitting here and Asian King with her ex high school lover was just all too weird. Someone she never had expected to see again was now just sitting within reach of her. How strangely awkward it was to talk with Jake Parker. Talking to him brought back all the great times of when they had been dating. They had been a crazy pair of teenagers ripping up towns and parties together. Oh what she would give to go back to her high school days when she had no a care in the world, not a bill to pay, and not a future to think about.
Kiana couldn't help but to wonder if she had and feelings left for Jake. Obviously right now at this moment they were just a couple of old friends reminiscing and catching up on things they had accomplished and done in the last few years. But she wondered if there was still a spark inside her just waiting to be lite into a large roaring flame, just how it use to be. That is crazy Kiana, shut the hell up she thought to herself as she listened to him talk about attending the University. Her mind wondered But maybe he was feeling the same way...wondering the same things as I am? Yet again she thought of more crazy things...
Kiana had never been one to take things as they came to her. She always wanted to jump ahead and see what the future had to offer her. She lived for the rush, for the fun, for the thrill. Ki had never been one to patiently wait around and see what happened. Somehow she always ended up diving in head first into everything, especially when it came to relationships. Oh god was she horrible at waiting when it came to guys. Everyone always thought it was because she was a whore and needed every guys attention. That was never the case. Kiana just wanted to be loved by someone.
When her mother had told her about her father cheating and his alcoholism Kiana couldn't help but feel misplaced. Her father was never around and her mother was always working late nights and early mornings. She was always alone. It would have been different if she had had siblings to talk with or to keep her company. Being an only child was not all it was cracked up to be. At lease people like Jake always had someone to lean on. If his parents weren't there he always had a brother or sister to talk to. Kiana had always envied him and his life. How lucky he was to have such a great family. All of them were so nice and caring. His parents had always been so nice, great people Kiana thought to herself resting her head in her hands.
Her eyes wondered around a bit before returning back to him. She didn't want to stare at him too much and creep him out. Hearing him say he had grew up in Valkyrie she raised a brow "No shit? I never knew that. That is strange that we have ended up in the same place. she laughed lightly pushing her hair back and behind her ears. "I really love it around here. They have great shops and beaches to die for... and they have the hottest men around she laughed having thrown in the last part just for good measure. Kiana shook her head gently and rolled her eyes "Usted habla muy mal espanol Jake" she smiled knowing she had probably completely confused him.
"Awe, thanks Jakey. You don't look too shabby yourself.... Glancing around them she noticed that not many people were still in the restaurant, many employees were already cleaning up. Obviously they had chatted for longer than she had though. She glanced down to her phone sitting in her lap and pressed a key so the touch screen lit up. Her phone told her that it was 9:30p.m. Jake and Ki had talked for over two hours...about what? she thought to herself. Sure they had been talking about family and Valkyrie but it didn't seem like that had sat there in the midst of Asian King for that long. She looked at Jake "We've been talking for over two hours she laughed and shook her head. I promised my kitty I would bring him home a snack. I should probably get heading back to my place soon anyways Kiana said thinking about her house and how she had left it unlocked. Not that it really mattered, it was gate, but some people would go to great lengths to break into a house they knew would have a lot in it.
Kiana stood up and stretched she felt a yawn coming on and she covered her mouth. "I've got to go order some chicken before they close the kitchen. One sec. she walked to the counter and ordered a little potion of chicken for her kitty. Waiting at the counter for a few minutes she got her food in a to go box and went back to their table. Well, It's been really great talking to you Jakey Poo. Kiana said smiling at him brightly. She really hoped he would either ask for her number or giver her his. Kiana really wanted to hang out again, very very soon.

i'm so in love that i acted insane&& that's the way i loved you. • - • - • - • - • - • - • jacob had never expected to see kiana again. not in his life. he couldn't even remember the last time he thought about her. was it fate that she just happened to end up in the town he was born and raised in? no, it couldn't be. what the hell was he even thinking. it wasn't like they were going to fall in love again and get married. he didn't feel anything more than friendship for her, at least not at the moment. for crying out loud it was like meeting a stranger, right? they were both strangers to each other at this point, weren't they? he hadn't seen her in years. years. she could be a stuck up snob capable of killing her future husband for all he knew. granted, that would be quite a drastic change, but anything was possible. he was mostly thinking of himself though. he was so much different than he'd been. he didn't envy those days he spent with her anymore. he was grown up now, serious, not a partier. she might still be, and what kind of relationship could blossom from that? could they even manage to be friends with such differences they both obviously possessed? well, probably. but that was just because jacob had wild sisters and he learned to love them for who they were too. did he have any feelings for kiana still? no. he didn't. he was different now. but could he develop new feelings for her? well that was a possibility. he didn't want to think about that though, he didn't even want to consider it. getting back together with her would be... weird. the idea made his stomach turn. she was his friend, an old good friend. that was all.
s
taring at her, he really took in her appearance. she looked very relaxed, very comfortable. they probably looked silly together, him dressed in his out of place formal wear, and she in her casual clothes just coming for a quick bite to eat. she really didn't look bad though, she looked pretty... good. he'd forgotten how attractive she'd always been, though she was much younger when he last saw her, and therefore a bit different looking. she'd gotten a bit taller, developed a bit more, her face more mature. he couldn't help but wonder if her personality had changed as much as she did. he remembered the kiana he dated, very clearly to be exact. she had been wild, lonely, free-spirited, affectionate... and a big party girl. was she still that way? he remembered the crap she'd been going through with her dad and her mom never being around. he never really could relate, having two older sisters and an older brother, and later on two younger sisters and four younger brothers. he was never alone, even if his parents were probably around as much as kiana's. they were there at the house a lot more often than they used to be. the three youngest boys probably have the most parental involvement in their lives than any of the older kids had. it never really bothered jacob though. he was never at odds with his family because he loved them all unconditionally. noah, he looked up to. saydie gave him perspective. melanie made him laugh. paisely was his best friend. jace and callie were the entertaining ones. hunter, edmund, and cameron were just flat out pestering, but he couldn't help but be fond of them anyways. even when analeigh and cody joined the family he let them in. analeigh was like a sister. cody was his nephew. he never really got in fights with any of them. if there were any he ever did bicker with, it was usually paisely or jace because he disapproved extremely of their party-hard ways. melanie got on his nerves every now and again to, but she was older and he felt less protective of her. saydie, noah, and callie however, he got along with goldenly. they were all a bit more mellow, a little more mature. especially callie. he never had to worry about her. she was always handling things on her own in a very adult manner. she took care of jace too, so there wasn't much of a struggle. even through the arguments, he never once regretted any of them being his family members. jake laughed at her, remembering how much of a potty mouth she had and how she cussed whenever, even if completely unecessary, "goodness ki, did you ever pay attention when we used to talk?" he couldn't remember really if they ever even spoke about where he lived. i mean, he probably mentioned it once or twice, here and there... it wasn't something normally gone unsaid in a long distance relationship. she never went to valkyrie to visit him though, and over the years, it was most likely just forgotten that she had ever known anyways. it didn't bother him at all, he just found it amusing, wondering if he'd even been good enough to tell her where he lived in the first place. he laughed when she mentioned hot men, "i agree, you're lookin' at one of the best," he winked and chuckled, "it's kind of weird. valkyrie is actually full of good looking people. more so than most places," he laughed, wondering how strange that sounded. it was true though, valkyrie, california was like the beautiful people capitol of the world, at least in his opinion. kiana suddenly started blabbering in some different language, spanish he guessed. and he sure as hell didn't get a word of what she said, "what the f-" he laughed then, looking down and shaking his head. he wondered what his family would think when he told them what he was doing that night, and who he'd been with. would they be excited? happy? irritated? confused? he hadn't a clue. suddenly she broke him from his reverie going off about some two hours nonsense. he was about to say something sarcastic and condescending, but he glanced at his phone and saw she was right, "holy crap. are you kidding me?" i guess time flew when you were catching up with long lost loves of your past. the restaurant was probably going to close soon. he watched as ki walked away to go get some food for her "kitty." the idea made him laugh quietly to himself. she returned and he stood up, grabbing the huge contained they'd given him to store all the food in. he found he was a little disapointed that this was the end of their run-in. they would have to hang out again. he grabbed a napkin from one of the dispensers and pulled a pen out of his pocket, scribbling down on it. then he handed it to ki, "call or text me sometime. we really need to do this again," it was odd, but he still felt like there was so much more to catch up on... to talk about.
