HISTORY: Mailynn’s life has been pretty usual to her for the most part. Her family is poor because they always have been since she could remember. However, when she was just a baby, her real mother left her on her adoptive parent’s steps. They took her in and raised her after adopting her. Her parents had let her know that she was adopted by telling her at a young age because there were no secrets kept within the family. That gave Mailynn the upmost confidence in relationships and often is why she is so honest.

When she was just fifteen, she started to work so that she could help out her parents who were in a bind. She began by working at McDonalds, where she still works today. She saved enough money, after giving money to her parents to help with bills, to get herself a beater car. It isn’t the prettiest thing to look at but it gets her from point A to point B.

Her father lost his job for awhile and that was when she picked up a second job. Now, her father is working down at the docks so there is a bit more money to spare but her parents are saving up for a better place for them to move to. They have high hopes of sending Mailynn to college so that she can get herself out of the projects even if there is no hope for her.

Mailynn dreams of being a ballet dancer but knows that the closest she can come to that is a stripper. Being in the ballet just isn’t in the cards for her. She’s in her senior year of high school, on the cheerleading squad, she runs every day, and works most days of the week on top of going to school.

Only when she was fifteen, the family that she called mom and dad fell through the cracks. Her mother died in a tragic car accident while her father took off and left her to the Stevenson grandparents. Her grandparents were pretty well off and she became rather close with them. They afforded for her to go to college and have a better life because of it. Anything that she wants, they give her but she likes to work hard for the things that she has. Now she's a freshman at college, on the cheer squad, and working towards a theater degree in hopes of one day being that big star that she dreams of.

She knew that if there was something she could do, then she would do it. If only she were like those Harry Potter geeks that use to come into McDonald’s for their little magic playing card days. They never got anything but that was the first thought that came to her mind when she was asking him if there was anything that she could do for him. “I would do it though if I could.” She laughed a bit and tucked her hair behind her ears, well the few little fly aways that hadn’t been pulled back with the rest of her hair the right way.

As he opened his arms a bit, she found her way into them. Her safe haven. Her one hand rested on his chest. “Much better.” She smiled.

Listening to him, she felt a bit more at east. As he laughed she shook her head with a big grin on her face and hit his chest lightly. “Stop! I don’t know about these things and I really thought that you didn’t want me. You have to tell me when things are going on with you. How else am I suppose to know? There’s nothing to be embarrassed about!” She didn’t like when he said that he was stupid. “You’re not stupid.” She assured him and kissed his cheek.

“None of that really matters.” Why he did or didn’t tell her didn’t matter, all that mattered was that he cared about her now enough to tell her. “So what else is going on with you, baby?” She smiled.

welcome to valkyrie benny. i love the sound of mailynn so far but before we can accept you there are a few problem areas that need to be looked at.

first of all her personality needs a lot of work. we like to really get into the minds of our characters and a deep insight into that character is a necessity. if this confuses you, please look at other applications to see what we're looking for. for example, is there a reason why guilt eats her up? was it something instilled in her from childhood or did something happen to make her to make her unable to lie without tremendous guilt?

your history needs some bulking up. her childhood is pretty much nonexistent. who were her biological parents, why did her mother ditch her, etc. you just straight from infancy to fifteen. we here understand that the in between time may be difficult to write about, but there has to be something she faced as a child. she learned at a young age that she was adopted. did she get teased at school or something? anything that could be relevant now. even good or bad memories from her childhood are worth mentioning. why did her adoptive father lose his job? at what age did she pick up a second job, how did this affect her studies at school, etc.

how did the death of her adoptive parents affect her. we need more insight to what was going on inside her head. did working so hard for so long make her regret just using her grandparents money to go to school? there are just a lot of little details that need to be put in here. we like a decent sized history. again if you need a reference, look at the other accepted applications to see what we're looking for.

lastly your sample rp submission is only 260 words. i understand that you say you can match posts made from people you're rping with but our post minimum is 600 words and this must at least match our requirements. also the members here tend to post about 1200 to 1500 words. if you're sure you can match these, please post a size appropriate sample.
