this is random, i realize. basically i just spent the half hour ranting to ruby about one of my crazy roommates. cliffnotes version: one of my roommates, marina is moving out because she hates ariel (my other roommate) with marina moving out, ariel wants to rearrange the room. i don't. there really isn't much we can do with it, because we have a slanted ceiling and our room is narrower than most rooms.

so do u have any ideas for a new floorplan? cuz this isnt working out how it is.

honestly, i'm fine with how the room is now. i don't really want to move my desk because of everything i have on the wall, some of the things would be ruined if i took them down. i mean, i don't care if you move closets, but i don't really want to move my desk or be in a different closet.

well, you have to realize that everything cant always be how we want it. you are sharing a room now, which means we all have to compromise.im trying to accomodate everybody and im asking what would work best for you and all of us.

well, i like the way the room is now. we've never really had a problem yet so far, so it's been working. we don't even know who our new roommate is, she might be fine with the way it is now.

thats been clear from the beginning. so yes, it has been a problem

i didn't know you had a problem with the room. you can move your stuff around, but i'm not moving my desk, i'd ruin my bulletin board and my skyline if i did

if its that big of a deal, id buy you new ones. but i think you either need to move desk and bed or closet. its the only way i can see the room making any sense. i am open to other options if you can come up with any, but i think you will find that i am right.

look, i don't want to fight, however i'm not moving my desk or changing closets, so do with the beds how you want, as long as i can get up into it, i don't care.

which is more important to you...desk...closet..? i mean, im not trying to be a bitch.

both are important. i was promised the closet choice at the beginning of the year because i had last choice in the bed.

then switch beds.
you are being stubborn and have to realize that you are SHARING a room. you have contorl of basically the whole room right now. all of your stuff is spread throughout the room and it is unfair. im trying to be nice and talk this out with you, but you need to be open to suggestion.

i'm not switching beds. it'd make no sense to be in the lofted bed with none of my stuff below it mine

then move your desk below a lofted bed.

except i'm not moving my desk. i am being completely reasonable. i said you could change the placement of the beds however you would like as long as i could get up to it

you are not being resonable. how can i move the beds to make sense if you wont move your desk?
the point is that closets, beds, desks should be together

my desk is in a corner. no bed could fit against that wall, it'd block the closet and the door

again, the point is that whomever has a desk where urs is currently, should also have that closet

then you can change your closet to wear marina's was.

the other girl might not have a problem with it like you did.

and it doesnt make sense for her to have to put her stuff all the way across the room because you are being sturrorn

closets aside, i have one thing in the whole room that i want to keep the same. you have free range over everything else in the room. how am i being stubborn?

because you are basically saying that you arent moving closets and you arent moving desks. so WHAT are you moving? NOTHING! thats why you are being stubborn. we cant set up the room to have closets desks and beds TOGETHER if yours are on OPPOSITE SIDES OF THE ROOM.

why do desks, beds, and closets HAVE to be together? i don't have a problem with my desk and my closet on the opposite side of the room. and maybe, the other girl won't either. neither of us can say how she will feel until she moves in. therefore, we shouldn't move anything (besides you switching closets) until she moves in
i understand that that you want all of us to be comfortable in the room, but i won't feel comfortable with you moving my stuff after i clearly have said i don't want it moved

The bed desk and closets should be together because that is what makes sense. we should each have our own areas and that way we never get in eachothers way.
I and not saying that i am going to move your stuff (im not saying i wont if it came down to it) i am asking for a compromise from you. you arent willing to move ANYTHING and that is unfair to us all. you are SHARING now and you need to realize everything cant be your way.
and on top of that, how our room is doesnt allow visitors and i think that just plain SUCKS.
