Jason could be one oblivious son of a bitch, because he thought smugly to himself as Brianna curtsied that she must be the happiest girl on earth. Yet, he fancied how beautiful she did happen to turn out that night, and was interested on how a preppy cheerleader was somehow catching his eye. He couldn't technically explain it, but he got an interested excitement whenever she happened to come into the room. And God forbid, he wasn't some cheesy romantic, not even close, but something what different. Maybe it was a relapse of Daphne Hayes, who knew. But as her father kissed her forehead, he felt as if getting handed Brianna Malinda was a damn nice choice. Orange County knew how to breed.
So, finally, he hooked arms with her and slowly they were led to the dance floor. Already there was Anne and fucking Oscar, whom Jason still didn't get why she was going with him. And, well, well, well. Luke and Kelsey, and sure, Jason wasn't one to gossip, but when it came to guys that really didn't like him, well, it was just a nice way to not get punched but emotionally hurt the poor babies. The rumor mill was dead at this point, but there wasn't a time when Jason would start another one up about how Luke knocked Emilia or Kelsey's lights out. It humored him. He then chose a spot on the ballroom dance floor, feeling the burning sensation of his mother and father's eyes at the tables. His father must've dashed quick in order to see his son. Let's rephrase that. His father must've dashed quick in order to make sure his son didn't fuck it all up.
And Jason happened to prove him wrong. Because there he stood in one of the spotlights, with one of the most beautiful girls there, getting in position. He smirked at her with a slight toothy grin at the end as he slowly ran his hand up her waist. He placed it there and gave her a seductive pinch. Then, he raised his hand while taking hers. The difference was incredible. Her hands were small, soft, feeble. His were large, still soft because he was pampered, and aggressive. It was a mix match, yet Jason couldn't feel any better about it. Brianna was fucking better than the brunette on the balcony. Her boobs were real.
"Enjoying yourself, darling?" He purred, as he steadily started to sway and follow the dance instructions they had all learned.

i can be your hero baby
He smiled as she said he was the best looking blond. She had to say that, he knew, but in the oblivious, in love part of his mind he seriously believed that she meant it entirely. He wanted to believe she only had eyes for him and that no else could compare. That was the way he felt about her. Sure he looked at other girls, but honestly what guy could say he didn’t. However while in a relationship, especially the one he had with Claire right now, he’d never make an effort to cheat. Elliot was way too paranoid to even try anything like that because god knows he’d never get away with it. Plus he’d never forgive himself for doing that to someone. It was just so unfair.
“Um, I’m not really sure. Pretty soon, I think.”
It seemed that as soon as she said that an announcement came from somewhere in the club announcing they were to get to their places. Oh god, Elliot could feel himself beginning to freak out. Standing in front of all those people was a huge phobia for him. Sometimes he couldn’t handle the his shyness, and his palms began to get sweaty. He could only imagine the worst possible scenarios. Tripping and falling, doing something wrong, you know something that would cause the audience to laugh in his direction. Forcing a smile for Claire, he told himself not to worry about anything. It wasn’t that big of a deal, right? Only a couple hundred of Valkyrie’s finest were watching. No biggie.
”So I guess that’s are cue, eh,” he leaned in kissing her forehead. ”See you in a couple minutes?” And with that, he went to join the line of guys waiting for their turn. It was there that he realized he’d be the first one going. God damn Claire and having her last name start with a B. The anxiety was mounting because not only was he going to stand in front of a huge crowd, he had no one going in front of him to show him what to do and what not to do. It was always more reassuring having someone else go first, then being the first one yourself.
"Claire Barnett, daughter of Heather and Nicholas Bartnett. Escorted by Elliot Davis, son of Chrisslyn Davis and James Randolf."
Elliot calmly walked onto the stage, trying to forget all the eyes on him, but as soon as Claire entered he knew he’d have nothing to worry about. Why on earth would they be looking at Elliot when there was a beautiful girl to look at? He bowed like the true gentlemen he was, taking in the beauty of his girlfriend under the lights and amongst the decorations. Telling himself not to rush ahead or anything, he stood, waiting for the girl of his dreams to curtsy so he could escort her off the stage.

♥ b r i a n n a_______________ Letting him lead her into a spot in the ballroom, Brianna started to feel guilty for what she wanted to do to Jason. He could have been joking around with a friend. No. Brianna instantly told herself. Why would he be friends with some old woman like that? Family Local? No. She didn't really look anything like him, and what Jason was doing looked nothing at all like joking around. Maybe it wasn't even Jason! Psh, it totally was. Brianna felt like she was trying to figure out a way - any way to tell herself that he didn't do what she had saw. It couldn't have been him. He wasn't the guy that she knew. Or did Brianna just meet and learned to know the wrong Jason? Every answer for her problem that she thought of seemed to be unbelievable. There was always something that told her that what he did was true. There was always something that told her that Brianna had to believed what she had saw. The only problem was, she didn't want to believe.
Without looking, Brianna knew that her father was looking at her. It didn't matter where he was standing at the moment, she knew he was looking at her the way he had before. And when Brianna thought of the last time her father looked at her with proud look in his eyes, she couldn't help but know that the last time he went to any of her events, it was too long ago. The way Jason looked at her, however, seemed to be different. It was that look that she loved for so long. That look that he had at school and Bare, when they had just met. But right now, Brianna couldn't admire that face. Earlier she would have just loved to see him. To see his smiling at her the way he was right now. To dance with him like she was at the moment. But how she felt right now wasn't the feeling she had 'earlier'.
"Enjoying yourself, darling?"
No! No! No! How do you think I feel?! Don't think I didn't see you earlier! I don't that this would be the best night ever! The best night in my life, but you just haaaaaad to ruin it. Don't you know how much I like you? Well, obviously no. Or maybe you don't care! Maybe you're just the jerk that everyone says you are! Brianna thought furiously. Though her smile was still there and she lied, "You're here, right?" Might as well let him think that he's the best guy in the world. After all, if Jason thought that he could still have Brianna while doing something with some other girl woman, he had to think highly of himself. Brianna remained with a simple smile, and that sparkling look in her eyes. Certainly, she didn't really feel so happy like the way she looked, but Jason will know hopefully understand everything later.

Something was fumbling around Jason all night, and he could never figure out what it was. Okay, maybe it wasn't the first time he was feeling this sensation. Maybe it was also at the basketball game, but he could of sworn it was something entirely new. It was a different feeling than any white line, wine glass or drug could employ over his system. For some reason, and at the moment while he danced in the orderly fashion with Brianna, his stomach felt like it was rolling down a gigantic cliff. Like there were somersaults or something. Fuck, he didn't care if they were cartwheels, but every time he got close to the cute blonde, his stomach did that sensation. He had no idea what to call it, for he had never, ever felt it before. But as he clasped hands with her and they swayed on the ballroom floor, he felt it.
Jason smirked as he looked out on the crowd, seeing that Brianna was pleased to be here with him. Why shouldn't she be? Jason happened to think very highly of himself, and he couldn't imagine why any girl wouldn't want to be on his arm. But as he looked amongst the people, he could only catch a glimpse of his parents, staring onto him with pointed daggers. They hadn't been happy at all with him lately, for he had just gotten out of jail last night. Damn Reed. Damn Luke. Damn Nonsense and it's rotten drugs that they got caught with. It damaged his report and it was a made sure thing that he'd have to actually bribe himself into an Ivy League. All because the three guys were caught with drugs. Luckily, his parents bailed him out, but they now considered him an embarrassment to society. And that was the worst blow Jason could take.
& throughout the dancing, it all ends Finally, after a good twenty minutes after naming each and every couple, with atleast ten minutes of them all dancing together, they parted. Apparently, there was some drama on the dance floor that needed to be taken care of, and the reception was to begin. Some families with little children were already taking their debutantes or escorts home, for it was simply a school night and it was reaching ten o'clock. To Jason, that was only the beginning. Question was, however, was where to find Brianna. He was simply clueless. So, for quite a while, he mingled amongst people that actually enjoyed his company, which lately hadn't been much, and served himself some rum that he had stashed in his pockets. Swig, swallow, drain.
"We'll see you at home. Call Francois when you need a ride home. We're taking the limo." Jason's father said, the first time coming up to him with his curly haired mother. Monsters, the both of them. Anne was trailing along behind, saying goodbye to all her friends and Oscar Lyon. Fucking weird. She must have vision impaired or something, because Oscar was a tool, and Anne, despite that she was an annoyance to him at the moment, could do ten times better. He shook his head as he walked around the place, looking for Brianna. He didn't want to make it too obvious, but how could he not? He needed an explanation for the goofy thing she made his stomach do - and his first thought? Allergies. It must be. So, he continued his hunt.

Your voice was the soundtrack of my summer Do you know you're unlike any other You'll always be my thunder...
Claire looked up slightly as the announcement came over the speaker in the corner above them. All the sudden, panic filled her mind. Not only because she was about to go on stage with most of Valkyrie’s population watching her, but also because after the ceremony, anything could happen. Many of the escorts and debutants that could drive themselves were staying for the after party, which, of course, included Charlie McPherson. With the amount of booze that was granted to be there, Claire didn’t trust him, or herself, to not say anything about it.
“Yeah…See you.” She said with a smile as he kissed her forehead. Turning, she walked to her corridor where her father was waiting. Linking arms with him, she took in a deep breath to calm her nerves. She could almost picture herself falling flat on her face or something. Wouldn’t that make a good headline for the Rumor Mill? People would probably turn it into something that involved her being drunk or on drugs. She wished she was drunk actually; at least it would help her nerves.
"Claire Barnett, daughter of Heather and Nicholas Bartnett. Escorted by Elliot Davis, son of Chrisslyn Davis and James Randolf."
It took her a moment to realize it when they called her name. Putting on a smile as her father led her out onto the stage, her smile actually turned genuine as she met Elliot’s eyes. She didn’t think he could be any more perfect. Before they had started dating, she had been glad just to be his friend. As Elliot bowed, her father turned her to kiss her forehead. Turning back, she curtsied to Elliot and stepped forward to take his arm as they walked off the stage and onto the dance floor to wait for the others.
Getting into the dancing position they had learned the week before, Claire smiled up at Elliot as she placed her hand on his shoulder. “That wasn’t so bad.” She said quietly as they announced the next few people. Who knew? Maybe this night wouldn’t be so bad after all. All she’d have to do is avoid Charlie, and she’d be fine.
Your eyes are the brightest Of all the colors I don't wanna ever love another...

♥ b r i a n n a_______________ Brianna wondered if this moment seemed as awkward and weird to Jason as it felt to her. Probably not since he most likely thought that Brianna hadn't seen anything he had done. But still, didn't he feel slightly guilty? Maybe just a little, tiny, pinch? With that smile he was wearing Brianna doubted it, but who knows. Maybe he was just faking the smile and whatnot just like she was doing at the moment. No, Brianna. He's just happy to be with you. Another lie. Another excuse she used to make herself feel better. Not like it worked since she still felt like crying. It certainly wasn't easy or simple to do as it sounded. But she had promised herself that she wouldn't be so sensitive and forgiving as she had done the years before she had attended Valkyrie Academy. Brianna told herself that she would stay strong when someone insulted her-and stay strong in situations like the current one.
Jason and Brianna continued to dance in the ballroom as more couples joined them on the dance floor. The two didn't say much to each other as more and more people came. They just danced the way they had learned to, and Brianna made sure any sign of sadness wasn't showing. She didn't want to mess anything up-Not just the plan, but her cotillion. Sure, Jason had done so much to hurt her when the ball barely started, but this was cotillion. Brianna had waited so long to go to this ball, and she wanted to make the best out of it - As hard as doing that may be. Plus, she could always catch up on what her father was up to after Brianna got her little revenge on Jason. This night couldn't be that bad. Or at least she hoped this was the worst it was going to get.
» tick. tock. tick. tock. time is passing. After all the dancing was over, Brianna left Jason for a little bit and searched for her brother. She walked around, feeling slightly surprised that some families were already leaving. What time was it? Brianna didn't care enough to look for a clock. She didn't quite find her brother yet, but her father was in sight. If only mom was here....Then it would feel like old times... Brianna thought. But apparently, her mother didn't care much about some cotillion her daughter had. Even though her husband and daughter was getting all dressed up, she probably didn't even think about where they were going. But before Brianna could think anymore about the topic, her father came to her. "I'm so proud of you." Her father said to Brianna. She just smiled, and her father continued, "Ashton is over there. Why don't you give him a kiss for showing up?" Brianna's smile faded as she whined, "Daaad. I know he's family and whatnot, but that's embarrassing." It seemed like her father had prepared an answer already. "Having a family isn't embarrassing. It's nothing big Hun. Just a peck on his cheek. Now go." Brianna knew she was defeated and walked over to her brother. Her father watched her the entire time. Since when did he care about having a family? Brianna thought. But it didn't matter. She was already on her way to Ashton.
"What's up short stuff?" Ashton asked Brianna. He probably knew something was up since it looked like Ashton could see his father talking to Brianna. "Nothing," Brianna said as she faked a smile. "Except for the fact that he wants me to give you a kiss. In. Public." Her smile disappeared as her voice had a sound of anger. She said the last few words as its own sentence. "No need to do that sis." Ashton replied with a exaggerated look of disgust. "Think about Plan 26." Ashton hinted. Brianna couldn't help but smile. It was a little plan they made when her father had made Brianna give her brother a kiss at school. "Got it." She replied.
The two hugged as they slowly turned into their 'position'. It felt weird to do something they made up so long ago, but this seemed to be like an exception to doing things kids did. Brianna leaned into his cheek but her lips were really just next to Ashton's cheek. Ashton did the exact same thing as they unnoticedly turned. It looked like the two were just talking but they both were slowly walking. After Ashton did his part, Brianna leaned out and sneaked a glance at her father. He was smiling. After all, he wasn't on the side of Ashton's cheek Brianna 'kissed' and so it looked like she really did do what he told her to do. Since Brianna brought back a memory from her childhood, maybe people really were a 'child tat heart'."See yah," Brianna said as she looked for Jason. She had forgotten all about what he had done and her plan for revenge. But if someone was on the wrong side and didn't know Brianna's brother....It might look like she was with a whole other guy....

The night was turning out to be much more of a bore than Jason had expected, or intended. As he made his rounds around the Country Club ballroom, a mess of people talking, leaving and such, he couldn't help but think as he fiddled with his complimentary glass of white wine. You see, in high society like this, adults didn't care if you drank, as long as you didn't make a fool of yourself or abuse it in such a way that you were called an alcoholic. Jason, however, wasn't in the mood to get drunk, but the alcohol soothed his overcoming thoughts on the Brianna stomach thing. If she happened to have some kind of allergies that transferred to him, oh she'd really get her words worth. Yet, tonight he didn't know why he was so eager to see her - maybe just because.
And upon walking through the ballroom, Jason finally used his lanky, tall legs to spot the petite blonde. She was with some guy, looking awfully older than herself and looking fucking intimate. He didn't look for too long, but from what he saw, they were kissing and staying close, as if they had some secret life together. And for some reason, that just made Jason explode. His protective side was showing as his jaw clenched and his grip on the wine glass tightened. His stomach didn't roll anymore. It gripped and turned into a fire pit of anger and, for some odd reason, he felt betrayed. What the fuck? It wasn't like they were a thing - but she was his Cotillion date. And she seemed totally enthralled by his presence. So why was she with him? He couldn't get over it, for this had never happened to him before.
When the older male left and Brianna was standing alone, Jason finally made his way over, his eyes pointed and angry like daggers. Okay, so maybe there was nothing that he could say in his defense. He was groping an older woman earlier that evening on the balcony, so honestly, he was just as guilty. But Jason was definitely not about to admit that. He didn't know what Brianna was making him feel, but it definitely wasn't normal, nor comfortable. He had a certain stride as he angrily made his way across the ballroom, his wine glass almost empty. He chugged it down before he finally made his way over to the lovely blonde. God damn, why did she have to actually look perfect tonight? Something completely different than the tramps he had been with in the past. Then again, he did have a one night stand with her.
"Hey - follow me, now. We need to talk." Jason said as he finally reached her, his voice cold with anger and betrayal. Despite that it wasn't betrayal at all. But no girl had ever two stepped him like this, and it made Jason frustrated. So, he led the two of them out to the balcony, where the winter air was quite possibly at forty degrees, and there were puddles, showing that it was raining lightly during the ceremony. It was completely empty, and despite that it had rained, the old fashioned and expensive lanterns lit up the beautiful marble balcony. But nothing about Jason's mood or intentions were resembling the scenery of that winter's night. He gripped the wine glass tighter, as he thought again about how intimate she was with the man, and how the man should of been him. He hated this feeling - and he didn't even know what it was.
"Who the fuck was that? Kissing older men? You're my cotillion date, Brianna, and you don't go fucking around with other guys when people know you're with me. What is wrong with you, huh?" Jason exploded, looking at her darkly, anger exploding in his dark brown eyes. There was no reason for it either. He had done the same thing that evening, and sure, he thought that Brianna didn't know. But oh - how wrong he was. He waited impatiently for her answer, jealousy raging inside of him. An emotion completely new to him.

♥ b r i a n n a_______________ Jason. Where was he? Brianna looked around, but her eyes couldn't find her Cotillion date. Where could he be? She didn't feel so angry anymore. It was usually like this anyways. When Brianna got furious at someone, it usually took a few minutes before she cooled down. She couldn't completely get rid of her old self. It was just her and not even Brianna could fully change her personality. Who could? Her eyes looked for Jason as she walked slowly, trying not to bump into anyone walking. Suddenly she found him, but he was walking towards her. He looked angry.. What the hell could he be mad about? Brianna thought to herself. She didn't know, but it didn't matter because he was already right in front of her. She could see his anger - A part of Jason that Brianna had never saw before. But before she could ask what was wrong, he spoke.
"Hey - follow me, now. We need to talk."
The coldness in his voice seemed so foreign. The situation he wanted to talk about couldn't be good. But what could make him feel like this? Brianna questioned herself, feeling completely clueless. She followed him, not having a clue where Jason was leading her. Soon she realized they were on the balcony. Brianna shivered. It was cold and she didn't have anything to cover her up except her dress. Of all the places they could 'talk', Jason just had to choose somewhere freezing. All of a sudden, Brianna really realized where they were standing. The balcony. The place where Brianna had seen Jason. Anger builded up, as she thought about what he had done. Brianna had a good reason to feel upset- Did Jason?
"Who the fuck was that? Kissing older men? You're my cotillion date, Brianna, and you don't go fucking around with other guys when people know you're with me. What is wrong with you, huh?"
She couldn't believe it. Was he really talking to her that well? Now Brianna knew why he was so mad. He had seen Brianna with Ashton and thought....All because of something her father wanted her to do. Brianna looked at Jason with disgust as she shouted, "Me? What's wrong with me? Are you fucking kidding me?!" Brianna couldn't believe him. Was he really blaming her for everything. "FYI Jason. That was my brother- ask around." Her voice had the coldness that she had received from Jason as she continued. Now she really felt like crying, but she couldn't. No sign of weakness. Brianna told herself. "But still...Me?!" Brianna yelled. "How about you Jason? How about you all over a lady old enough to be you mother?" Brianna slightly nodded as she said, "Yeah Jason. I saw it all." But now Brianna couldn't control herself. The image of Jason and the woman was in her mind. Tears streamed down her face that she couldn't control. "I can't believe you." She said, her voice cracking. "I thought I lo- never mind." Brianna didn't let Jason know how she felt. That was too deep, and he probably didn't care.
Not wanting to deal with Jason anymore, Brianna turned. She wanted to walk away. She wanted to just get away from him, but there was too much going on in her head to walk away from him. So much she wanted to say to him. And to think Brianna was about to tell him that she loved him. Did she even know the meaning of love? Probably not, but this could possibly be it.

Jason widened his eyes, not believing his ears for one moment. A girl was actually talking back to him? Okay sure, there was multiple times when a girl had cursed at him and slapped him for 'mistreating' her, or whatever they called it. They were whores, it was their duty to serve anyways. But coming from a petite blonde whom he thought he had total control over was a complete shock. And she asked what was wrong with him?! Jason, very well known, thought highly of himself. Sure, he made some minor mistakes here and there, but never did he think that there was anything wrong with him. He was perfectly normal compared to that little tramp. His fury built up, as he couldn't look at her anymore, turning to face the railing of the balcony, not knowing what was going on anymore.
Was Jason jealous? Was he being overprotective over a date he chose because he felt sorry for? His stomach did knots again, as he clenched it, pinching his skin through the tuxedo and clenched his jaw. And then she said it was her brother, and that's when Jason knew that he was really losing it. He was losing his fucking mind. Well, so what if it was her brother? That is some intimate looking family if you were to ask Jason. Well, they only kissed on the cheek, not like he hadn't done that with his siblings or cousins any time before. From gallas to fancy showings, the meet and greet was always a kiss on the cheek. God damn, how could he not see this before? Anger and frustration at Brianna and himself filled up. Why was he feeling this way?! He didn't have a thing for her. He'd never had a thing for a girl. God, he'd never had a girlfriend in his God forsaken life. Such hassles.
But hearing Brianna say those words, putting him in his place, made him forget about shackle and chains. He wasn't thinking about that at a time like this - and what made it worse? Now she was going on and on about how she had seen him with the woman. What was she doing, spying on him?! What does it matter?! She saw, and it was worse than kissing the cheek of your brother. Argh, why am I here in the first place? Jason cursed mentally as he felt his head throb. He rubbed his temples, then looked quizzically at her, not knowing what to say. She had put him in the corner, and usually there was a time when Jason could slink out of those little places that women put him through, but Brianna seemed to really get him stuck in mud. Fuck.
Then, Brianna said something that threw Jason totally off guard. She thought she lo-.. loathed him? Loved him? Fucking loved him? He knew that the little Junior cheerleader had a crush on him, but the intense word of love? Jason had never used it before, nor did he plan to. Love was for pussies like Reed, Luke, James, and despite that Joey was his partner in crime, his brother, he was a pussy too. But for some reason, he couldn't help but stare at her for the longest time when she said those words. Like everything was in slow motion. He was totally confused, his eyebrows stitching together as he tried to work this out. A slight drizzle then started to fall on the balcony, but Jason felt numb against it. He growled under his breath as she turned. He quickly stepped up, grabbed her wrist and pulled her back to him with such force.
Then, as Jason pulled Brianna as close as ever, using his muscles that were only used for doing such with women, he kissed her. His hormones weren't part of this - no, it was something entirely different. Was he testing it? Was this a joke? No. He didn't want to turn out like Reed and all them. That was just some lame excuse for not getting laid. But as the drizzle started to change into a slight pour of rain, he thrust the wine glass onto the balcony floor which shattered into a million little pieces. He then grasped the back of Brianna's head, making sure that the kiss lasted as much as possible. Such angry passion had turned into this? He didn't know what he was doing, but as the rain fell, something clicked, and his stomach was feeling completely insane. A new drug.

♥ b r i a n n a_______________ Taking a deep breath as her eyes filled with tears, Brianna tried as hard as she could to stop. So much for staying strong no matter what situation she was in. She was surprised at herself for saying so much, but now she felt as there wasn't really anything else that was left that she didn't needed to tell him about. Her tears slowly stopped as she took another breath. She used a finger to wipe what seemed to be a tear off her face. Brianna was expecting more than what Jason was doing. Brianna watched him as he turned away from her. What was he doing now? Trying to ignore her? Probably not since Brianna had just said a mouthful, but she didn't care. There was too much going in her mind. Questions that she wasn't sure if she wanted answered and left alone.
Surely Jason would know what to do in a situation like this? If you asked Brianna, she would expect him to know how to do anything with females. Whether it was just flirting or maybe in worse problems than the current one. Brianna felt angry, but it wasn't all because of Jason. Her father caused most of this. Just her luck. The one time Brianna got to spend time with her father, he ruins her night. Maybe it was better without him... Brianna thought, but she soon told herself that her father had nothing to do with it. Maybe he was just trying to get the family back together, and Brianna couldn't possibly blame him for that. Jason, however, had no good reason to be with some lady that he probably didn't know. Wasn't Brianna good enough? It didn't seem like it.
What was he doing? Brianna was quite shocked that Jason didn't say a word. She expected him to at least defend himself. At least tell her that she was wrong and it was all her fault. After all that he had done, it seemed like Jason was that type of guy that could make a comeback but from what Brianna saw, Jason didn't say a word. She was wondering if he was giving her the silent treatment. Not a very good way to solve the problem but if he was going to be like that then she was fine with it. Feeling like that was the only reason for him not to talk, Brianna was about to turn away. She was about to go to her father and brother and just tell them that she wanted to go home. They would be fine with that, since there wasn't really anything they could do at her Cotillion.
As Brianna was about to turn and walk away, Jason kissed her.
As shocked at the blonde felt, she didn't pull away. All the anger vanished. The entire world and all her problems seem to just disappear out of her mind. Not a single thought about anything they had just discussed shouted about. Brianna rested her right hand on Jason's shoulder as they kissed. Soon enough, she wrapped her arms around his neck. It was raining, but she didn't care. She didn't care one little bit. Now the feeling in her was unexplainable. The Jason she thought she knew when Brianna first saw him seemed to be right in front of her right now, and the girl certainly couldn't complain.
Brianna felt as if pulling away was what she should have done, but she just couldn't. Now the rain was really falling, but who would have cared right now? Sure, Brianna hated Jason more than anything in the universe earlier but now she didn't want to let go. And with his hand on her head, it felt as if Jason didn't want to let go either. Wondering what would happen next seemed like a question that was already answered. The night seemed to turn and follow a whole other path. Once again, Brianna couldn't explain how she was feeling at the moment. She couldn't explain exactly what she was thinking - Too many thoughts. But she had to admit one thing. Brianna felt like she was in a fairytale.

Oh God, is it amazing what could change in a matter of minutes. The balcony, a couple of moments ago, had been dry with hatred. With yelling words of jealousy, confused jealousy more like it. And tears that didn't conform into the rain that was falling harder now. And the mutual dislike between two people, two completely different people, had never been so real. Really, the two of them had, in an odd way, pushed each other over the limits and couldn't stand each other. If they had continued yelling anymore, the shattered wine glass that was now on the cobble floor would of been at one of their heads instead.
But now everything on that balcony had changed. The passionate energy wasn't hating - but more loving than ever. Jason wasn't used to it, and it scared him to death. Usually nothing scared him, because he figured that he was already dying young and going to hell, so he might as well do anything and everything. But when it came to jumbled up words, kisses and messes like this - he was terrified. Frightened out of his wits. He shook a bit, feeling goosebumps appear on both of their arms as they kissed longer, something that Jason hadn't expected. How did it come to this? From being an estranged hook up at a bar, to a cotillion date out of guilt, to seeing Brianna in that cheer leading outfit and first getting that feeling. And now this. Man, was he feeling new tonight.
But eventually, Jason had to pull away. Thunder rumbled in the background and made it louder with the thunderous crashing waves that pounded into the rocks that night on the Valkyrie shore. He gasped a bit, trying to figure out what just happened, why and how. But he couldn't. He just couldn't. He then glanced at Brianna and pieced it together. Maybe he did have some kind of feelings for her - maybe. If she played her cards right. What the fuck was he saying? She had been. She'd even gotten Jason, out of all people, jealous! Of her fucking brother! He then stepped back a little and rubbed his temples, feeling his stomach do the knots again, and every single glance at the blonde made him tremble even more. Maybe he was having a nervous breakdown. Yeah, that was it. There just had to be an explanation, because man, he was afraid of the L word more than people knew.
"I don't know what the fuck is going on here. I really don't." Jason shouted over the rain and thunder, which was louder than an action movie containing King Kong and Godzilla. His throat was sore from the drying up wine that had slithered down moments ago. He swallowed hard, trying to soothe it a bit before looking back at her. "I need to go, Bee." He shouted against the storm, covering his hand above his eyes so all the rain wouldn't get into them. "I don't know what I'm feeling, but it's something. Something for you. And God damn, I really don't know what it is. I thought it was allergies, but you're too fucking perfect to make someone allergic to you. Unless it's the reason itself. I'm going to figure this thing out. But right now, I just, I need to fucking get out of here. Catch a ride with someone, alright babe?"
He couldn't take this anymore. Dramatically, Jason then walked ghastly fast out of the balcony, the rain pounding from inside as employees of the country club looked at him confused. From what they saw, it was a tall, lanky kid with brown hair and looking like he just took a dive into the country club pool. But as he pulled out his iPhone and called for Francois, the new French driver, he was a completely new man. For he finally had feelings for one girl - and that was Brianna Malinda.
Valkyrie, a land of surprises. Cotillion just punched it up a notch, eh?

and i'll take you for who you are This was the kind of event Charlie was made for. If his mother had been here it would be ten times bigger the ordeal, but his father and step-mom, who liked to hold their place in society were just the type of parents to force their son into an event like this. Surprisingly Charlie didn’t have too many complaints about the whole thing. Of course, at first he was less then thrilled, especially with his lack of significant other, but after securing a date with Jamie, the girl from his French class, things were looking up. Cotillion wasn’t exactly ideal first date criteria, but they could still have a good time and Charlie wasn’t exactly looking for long term commitment – well, he was, but some fun would be good too.
Hearing the announcement to get into their places, Charlie stepped in line behind Caleb, shoving his hands in the pockets of his dress pants, patiently awaiting his turn to walk on stage. Charlie wasn’t the least bit nervous, which was something new for his character. Usually he was a mess of nerves before doing anything in front of a crowd. However all he usually did in front of crowds was play competitive sports and with those the pressure was always on to win. There wasn’t necessarily any pressure on him right now. All he had to do was walk on stage, bow, wait for Jamie’s curtsy and escort her off stage. And then, then there was the dance. Charlie wasn’t a big dancer, let alone one at all and if he was going to have a downfall, besides the she-Charlie, it would be dancing. He had rehearsed it enough to hope he wouldn’t mess up, but the boy’s got two left feet when it comes to dancing, and he crossed his fingers inside his pocket that he would stay smooth.
Hearing his name announced, he plastered the large grin he was known for on his face, and walked calmly out onto the stage. Smiling, he bowed, and waiting a brief minute for Jamie’s father to kiss her on the cheek, and then to curtsy. He strolled up confidently, offering her arm and as soon as she accepted it, walked off stage and assumed the position they were instructed to in the hours of rehearsal from earlier that week.
He glided through the dance somewhat smoothly. He was pretty sure he messed up somewhere on something, but no one said anything and he and his date simply laughed for a couple minutes before finding a seat. Now came the uncomfortable part. The actual talking and schmoozing that was supposed to go on. His father, the politician was probably one of the smoothest talkers Charlie had ever met, but unfortunately he had missed out on those genes, and was a little uncomfortable when it came to big parties like this, ones with important adults. He told himself to chill out, and after a brief comment to Jamie, his date, Charlie got up and wandered to the bar, with intent to himself a coke and a 7up for the girl.
Standing there, trying to avoid the eyes of some of his friends parents and just generally people he didn’t want to talk to, he ordered what he needed, an eye out for the she-Charlie. He had no idea if she was here, and part of him felt guilty for it, the other mad at himself that he was still concerned, but the guy couldn’t help it. He just wanted to see her.

~ Do You Believe We Are All Inately Good ~ Charlie Wood crossed her legs at the ankles as she watched the debutantes come down and out onto the dance floor. Part of her was so thankful for not being up there. I think she would be sick to her stomach if her father kissed her on the forehead the way all these father's were to their kids. Creepy. But who was she to object to the traditition of the cotillion, after all, Faden looked happy. She wasn't the greatest of friends with him, okay she wasn't friends with him nearly at all, but she respected him from afar and knew he deserved to be happier than he had in the past and as she watched him and Emilia Demtra step out onto the dance floor he couldn't look any happier. She smiled to herself slightly, but the smile faded and a tight knot in her stomach formed as she watched Charlie McPherson and his date walk out onto the dance floor and get into position. This was rediculus, she had rejected him, she should not be jealous. She should be able to tear her eyes away from them as the went across the dance floor as the main dance began, but she didn't want to. Charlie turned her body in the chair towards Tim, but no matter how she tried, everyonce and awhile she turned to look back at McPherson and Jamie, who she now officially hated...
Alright, she knew that wasn't fair, but what was she supposed to feel? Well, she was supposed to not feel charlie, she shouldn't be thinking about him. It was how dazed she was by him that distracted her as she felt tim's hand on her knee as the main dance and event ended and everyone else began to join them on the floor. Charlie turned bac to Tim who stood up and put out a hand for her to take, "May I have this dance?" He asked her. Her blues looked up at Tim and nodded for her as she stood up, taking his hand and went out onto the dance floor with him. Tim placed an arm around her waist and took her hand in his other and as they began to dance, She-charlie catching glances of He-Charlie when she was facing the right way, he said, "I can't help notice you're distracted."
She nodded, keepng her eyes away from Charlie, "Yes, sorry, I'm just tired."
"Hopefully not TOO tired." Tim asked with a small smile. He was just joshing her, yeah he expected sex but he wasn't going to pressure if she was off, beisdes, he could get it somewhere else tonight if he had to.
Charlie smiled, ah men and their sexual organs, "No, not too tired" She replied with a small chuckle. Both Tim and she knew that this night wasn't about an emotinal connection between them. They were buddies, friends who were probably going to end up fucking later that night and that was it. Besides, Tim may be a user to girls, but if the girl kows the truth and accepts it, he can be a very good friend. Sort of like a John Tucker although Tom didn't rule the school, he was just one of many of the popular, partying guys. They continued to dance for a while, after Charlie and Jamie had left the dance floor. Tim was surprisingly funny, but as much as she laughed and enjoyed herself, he-Charlie was still on her mind. She laughed and Tim spun her around quickly, joking around a bit before she pulled herself away from the dance floor for a moment. Tired. She smiled as she walked towards one of the walls, Tim followed her then offered to go get drinks. He made his way over the bar and as her eyes followed Tim over she watched as he stood right next to the He-Charlie as he asked for two waters. Awkward much? Or not, Charlie was kidding herself, McPherson had some with a date, he seemed happy enough, was she truely arrogant enough to think he still gave a crap about her? She smiled as Tim walked back to her, handing her the bottle of water, "Thanks" She said with a smile as he leaned in and kissed her on the cheek, "Anything for my girl of the night"

time is precious and it's slipping away His fingers tapped the bar, as he waited for the bartender to bring him his drinks, and from the corner of his eye he noticed someone come up alongside him. It was some guy, dressed up just as Charlie was, and Charlie nodded an acknowledgement before turning his attention to the bartender who placed a coke and a 7-up in front of him. He turned on his heel and headed back to where Jamie was sitting. Sitting down across the table from her, his eye caught the guy who had been standing beside him at the bar just in time to see him kiss the she-Charlie on the cheek.
So, she was here, with another guy. Okay, Charlie could deal with this. It wasn’t the end of the world. Wasn’t he the one who had told her to have a nice life? Wasn’t he the one who was so over everything lately? Eh, over her was something he was trying to do, and so far it wasn’t working. He had hooked up with some junior, Claire whatshername, at his basketball after party in an attempt to tell himself he was over her. He was flirting with this girl, who he was trying to convince himself that he liked, at Cotillion. But there was no denying that seeing her with another guy, one who looked like a slime ball at that, was driving him crazy.
Charlie liked to credit himself on not being the jealous type. He was way too passive for it. But now, now his eyes wouldn’t leave the she-Charlie. Here with another guy! God, he was regretting every harsh word that left his mouth at the beach that day. He wished he hadn’t acted so rash, hadn’t been so angry at the situation. Now, now he was watching her flirt with some guy who obviously only wanted to get into her pants. It so wasn’t fair. ”What’s wrong?” Jamie piped up, turning her head around to see what had caught Charlie’s attention all of a sudden. ”Oh,” he turned his eyes back to his date, a nervous smile coming over his face. ”Sorry, spaced out. Will you excuse me for a second though? Bathroom,” he nodded, getting up and making his way towards the washrooms.
Getting there however, he had to pass the area where the she-Charlie and her date were currently hanging around. Moving through the crowds quickly, he slowed down when he came a lot closer to where the she-Charlie was. Catching her eye, he rose his eyebrows almost disapprovingly, sighing rather dramatically, before lowering his eyes to the floor. He had reached the corridor in which the bathrooms were located, but instead of entering the men’s, he simply leaned against the wall a little ways down from the doors. Hands in his pockets, he took a deep breath. He was way too wrapped up in her still.
and i've been waiting for you all of my life
