Muffled curses could be heard from under the comforter. Zachary had managed to tangle himself up inside his blankets up while dreaming one of his odd dreams again. Sighing with relief as soon as he managed to free himself from the tangle cobwebs, he stood up, revealing a pair of plaid pajama pants and a white tank top.
Rubbing his eyes, and stifling a yawn, it was apparently he was still partly asleep. Quickly, he examined his room, boxes, clothes, and so many posters hanging on the walls you could barely tell the original color of the plaster-white barriers had been before.
Eventually, he found himself on the balcony, his hair a mess, and his glasses insisting on sliding partway down his nose. He leaned against the railing, sighing contently as he took a small sip of the warm coffee. Over head, the seagulls screamed, while a soft sea breeze blew to wards him, fluttering the dark curtains that hung behind the open deck door.
"It least this place has a view," he said as he raised the warm cup to his lips once more and took another drink. "I guess, this is my home now," he whispered to himself as he combed back. Alas, the idea never came to him. This apartment, his home? Maybe, his home was back in Montana, or with his family, not in an apartment. But, who knows. After all, the heart is a fickle creation, deciding who you like, when you have no idea, or what you can call home, and what you can not call a home.

Sage walked down the beautiful beach, well, more of sprinted. Not only was she trying to tone for dance and gymnastics, she was chasing a huge dog. The black and brown animal was a good distance ahead and Sage was losing ground fast. Putting on one last burst of speed, the junior tackled the dog, who jumped aside at the last minute. Sage ate a mouthful of sand and sat up, spitting the grains from her teeth. Starting to laugh at herself, Sage stood up and brushed sand from the boxer-style pajama bottoms she wore. She'd only let the dog out for a minute and he'd taken off.
Grabbing the black collar buried in his thick fur, Sage wondered how far exactly she had gone from her Grandma's house. Cole wasn't even awake yet, but her nearly blind Grandmother was, she'd be missing her dog soon if Sage didn't get back with him.

Zachary watched a person run onto the beach, chasing after a dog, a smile spread across his face as he first thought about Roger, the large dog that his mother had for a number of years, and was his childhood friend. "Gotta love big dogs," he said finishing his drink, then set the cup on the railing.
Come on, what's not to love about them? More fur, more saliva, more fuzzy then the regular old mini-toy dogs. After a short mental debate with himself, he eventually headed outside, to wards the beach walking to wards the large dog, and it's apparent owner.
"That looked like fun," Zachary stated in a friendly tone, a slight smile was on his face. "You okay?" he said looking at Sage. Typical question, but hey, it might start a conversation. Or, it might not. You never know what a few simple words can say.

Sage looked up from brushing sand from Adonis and herself, to the cheerful eyes of a boy who seemed about her age. Blushing furiously, thinking no one had seen the impressive amount of sand she had eaten, Sage shrugged. "It's how to start every morning off right. First, chase after dog, make sure you look stupid, wearing pajama's is a good start. Second, yell at dog as it runs faster, make sure to be hit by wave as dog runs into surf. Finally, try to grab dog and eat sand, be sure of audience though." Sage grinned as she said this, because even though she was sandy and a bit damp, it had been fun.
Some girls refused to have dogs bigger then their precious Fendi purses, Sage loved Adonis, he was like a huge furry teddy bear. Letting go of his collar to straighten up, Sage watched the German shepherd go over to sniff at Zachary's feet. She was about to call him back, not knowing if this guy would find it ok. And the last thing she wanted was trouble for her grandma.

He laughed, after all, the way Sage had said everything was just rather... Well, funny. "Well, it least it's a nice wake up call," Zachary said smiling slightly. Then he shrugged, "I seriously don't see anything wrong with wandering around in your pajamas... Because seriously, at my old school a few years ago I wore my pajamas to school it least once a week. Granted, we didn't have sand to dive into."
Then he smiled as he looked at the dog, he kneeled down to the dog's level. "He won't bite me, will he?" Zachary asked, granted, asking that after your down at the dogs level is kind of a stupid mistake, but what could he say? He likes animals.
Slowly, he put his hand near the dog's so it could get his scent, and that way maybe it wouldn't be so scared if he began to pat the animal. He'd done that once, well, with out letting the animal pet him, when he was six. Ended up that the dog nearly attacked him, luckily, it was a small toy dog, so not a lot of damage could've been done to him.
The smile on his face broadened as he stared at the beast contently. Then he looked up at Sage, "I'm Zachary, what about you?" he inquired.

Sage laughed at his asking if Adonis would bite him. She knew there was no way he could know, but having known the dog since he was a puppy, it was funny. "Adonis wouldn't hurt a fly. He's a sweetheart." Sage said, watching as the big dog sniffed Zachary's hand and began to shower it with dog kisses. This was before he jumped up at Zachary, snuggling closer. For being such a large animal, Adonis acted like he was a toy poodle.
Sage giggled again and went to grab Adonis's scruff, pulling him off. "Sorry about that, great way to make a first impression, I'm Sage." she said all this in about one breath because Adonis was pulling to try and get back to studying Zachary.

He whipped the drool off of his pajama pants before petting the dog, "Ever notice how a lot of ridiculously large dogs are just big, adorable puppies. I've only really met one dog that isn't that way, that was really ridiculously large." Then he smiled slightly and ruffled the dogs fur.
"Hey, I'll remember you," he said with a smile, "I'm bad with names, unless I know of an event that relates to the person and how we met... It's kind of like, say we met at the mall, and we started to talk over gloves, I wouldn't remember you. But now, I'll be like: Sage! Person with the big dog! And who fell on the beach..."
Then he looked back at the dog, "Adonis? Is that his name?" he asked, some what of an obvious question, unless there was a large burly man behind him, that some how Zachary had no idea he was there, that Sage was referring to, instead of the lovable dog.

Sage laughed again and let go of Adonis, sitting down on the warm sand herself. Adonis then decided he liked the space between Sage and Zachary, spreading himself out and placing his head in Zachary's lap. "Great, I'm going to be remembered for one of the most ungraceful moments in my life." Sage said, half liking the idea. At her old school, everyone used to call her "the Strict Dance girl." Maybe it would be nice to be known as something less severe.
"Yeah, his name is Adonis, but it's not fitting, is it boy?" Sage asked, scratching the dog's belly, laughing as his tail began to whack the sand.

"We all make mistakes, or total clowns of ourselves, for example, I was into this sheet music once, and I ran straight into some one who had some coffee with them, and I totalled their shirt, it least you didn't hurt some one when you made your 'most ungraceful' moment," Zachary said with a smile as he scratched the dog behind the ears.
Zachary tilted his head to one side, "No... He looks like... An... Adonis... Isn't that a Greek God or something?" he asked raising an eye brow slightly.

Sage tilted her head to the side and smiled. She could imagine running into someone when she was thinking of her dance. It had happened before after all. But with hot coffee? Yikes, that could hurt. Hearing the question about Adonis, Sage snapped back to present. "I think so, he was a really buff guy I think. My grandma named him when he was really little. He was the biggest of the liter and scared as shi-all get out." Sage caught her language before it slipped to badly. Though she usually didn't censor herself, Sage wanted to make a good first impression.
Adonis looked up as he heard his name, tongue lolling out, dark eyes bright. Sage had always thought she had eyes like a dog, darkly hued, changing with her mood. It didn't help when her twin found out about t and began to call her 'Dog Eyes.' Of course, Sage had gotten back at him, she never left anything unfinished.

"I think it was some really big muscular guy that fell in love with himself," Zachary said, "granted, my greek is a little off since I used that class to sleep during instead of actually learn something.
He continued to scratch the dog behind it's ears as he asked, "So... I'm betting you go to Valkyrie, unless you got thrown out and go to the next town over... Anyways, if you go to Valkyrie, what are you here for?" he asked.

Sage laughed, she didn’t think that was quite right. “I think that story is Narcissus and Echo, not Adonis. But I don’t know what it; I’ll have to Google it.” She said, rubbing Adonis’s on his back. It was steadily getting warmer and Sage was glad she’d worn lighter pajamas to bed last night. Hearing about why she went to Valkyrie, there were several reasons she could give him. Sage went with the main one.
“Oh, I want to dance, and this school has one of the best in the country. I’ve taken ballet since I was about six and I pick up other dances really quick.” Sage didn’t mention that she was a workaholic when it came to dance, she’d let that part slide for now. “So, what are you here for?” she asked, her dark eyes searching Zachary’s.

Zachary raised an eyebrow, "You sure? There was this line in Hercules, yes the Disney movie, that was like: Never has a room had so much love since Adonis discovered himself.. Granted, it's Disney, and they enjoy twisting history... Like, with Mulan, when the Chinese version came out, China didn't believe it was the real movie, they thought it was a joke and yelled at Disney to release the real version."
"Sweet," Zachary said. After a few seconds, he shrugged, "I'm either here for singing, or piano playing, or both. I think it's both... I've taken singing lessons since I was in eighth grade, and I've been playing piano since I was six or seven if I recall right."

Sage smiled wider hearing why he was here. A life-long passion of music, that was great! "You should go for both. You never know how far you can go until you're already running." she said, leaning back as Adonis stood up and stretched in the sunlight. Sage could hear people starting their days, coffee machines, cars going. Somehow it all worked, it wasn't loud and crude like in big cities. It was just how life was, busy and stressful, but fun at the same time.
Looking over at Zachary, she wondered if he was like other musicians she'd met. Well, there was only one way to find out. "Could I hear you play or sing sometime?" she asked, her voice softer the normal. Most artists be they painters, musicians, dancers, writers, anything, had a hard time showing people there work. Granted they wanted praise, but also a grain of fear was there. Fear of messing up or being laughed at. Sage had it, she almost always got sick before a dance performance, but it passed, and she always loved the results of her show.

Without hesitation, Zachary nodded his head, "Yeah! I'd like that alot." Clearly, Zachary didn't have a problem, or a nervousness that other people had. He was pretty much in his perfect area when he was in front of a crowd, singing or playing. After all, what good is a talent if you can't prove it to some one.
"Maybe I am going for both, I put them on the forum thing when I first came to the school, and sent in a video with me singing and playing on it. Or maybe I specified something... I can't remember..." He groaned scratching his head with an uneasy smile on his face.
